I’ve been mainly inactive on this blog for so long, so I’ve finally decided to abandon it completely. I might even delete it sometime, but I’m not sure when.
You can follow me on my main @queer-disillusion because I decided to continue posting my writing stuff over there, or on my instagram: @shit_shewrote (I post my poetry there and I’ll also start posting about my story writing in the following months, as soon as I have something to show 😁).
As for my writing, I’ve been mostly focusing on my poetry in the recent years, but I’ve finally decided to focus on my WIPs again this year. This is what I’m planning:
- The Song of Us (previous title: Time After Time. A love story about an immortal woman meeting with her soulmate at different points in time. I’m planning on turning it into a novel-in-verse, similar to a Homer epic)
- Little Lion (title might change because the worldbuilding sure did. Post-apocalyptic scifi thriller, more info coming soon)
- short stories (following momentary bursts of inspiration. I might even open comissions for story prompts in the summer)
While on topic onf comissions, I already offer poetry comissions on my Ko-fi page (mainly love poem comissions from Valentine’s day, but more options coming soon. The link should still be in my bio!)

"Does sex make you impure?" The nun of the God of Morals looked at the young person. "Have you listened to followers of the Judging God?" "Does it?" "It can do." "Oh." "If you do it selfishly, coercively, falsely, or carelessly." "They didn't mention that part." "They never do."

The more I watch more shows the more I get to understand all of you who had ever said something about how homophobic the media still is
Some months ago I already had acknowledged some of it, but never really thought more about it than it being disappointing but always saying "well, but it's fiction, right? All cool."
But now I know it's not.
I've been watching a lot of series with the ships we all love to create content for to fulfill our needs, and it's incredibly painful how many of them could have been canon at some point if somehow they would have entered on the heterosexual field. It's not about having representation like in those poorly developed and forced-queer-inclusive characters in Netflix series and things like that, no, it's about having well written storylines, featuring romantic aspects, dramatic but serious plots, and unbelievably strong bonds between two characters that it is clear the only reason the creators/writers don't choose to confirm romantic attraction is because homophobia still exists and it influences their decisions, and even they are willing to awfully ruin whole plotlines by fitting nonsense heterosexual relationships or just denying there was any bond at all between the characters just to not make it queer
And no, I'm not saying everything should be either about queerness or heterosexuality, all I'm saying is that people should not destroy tremendous stories and character's bonds and growths just out of fear of them being a part of those

Quick Publishing Tip: Don’t Bury Your Gold
For those of you who are submitting short stories or novels for publication, I offer you this quick tip: Don’t bury your gold.*
The harsh truth is that most magazines, agents, and editors receive so many submissions that they rarely read past the first paragraph (of a short story) or page (of a novel) before they begin to make a decision. And if you don’t show them something they want to see within that time, they may not finish your story at all. So don’t bury the good stuff!
I often see stories where the writer “hides” their best stuff in the middle of the story. This can happen on a story-level when the writer doesn’t reveal the “hook” of the story until five pages in. It can also happen on a style or skill level when the writer doesn’t show their best writing until the middle or end of the story.
This strategy might work for writing that you share with your friends or family, but if you want to get the attention of an overworked, underpaid, stressed out editor or agent who has already read 50 stories that day, open with your gold, don’t keep it buried in the middle where they might not even see it!
As a first reader for literary magazines who is often in the position of reading through tons of submissions in a day, I can not stress this enough. Editors are much more likely to overlook weak or uninteresting writing halfway through a story that had a strong beginning than they are to keep reading a story that has a weak start. Show us what you’ve got, and show us right away. Hope this helps! *If you are working on a story right now, please please please don’t let this advice get in the way of your creative process. As with any publishing advice, I recommend that writers make these kinds of changes to their story in the later stages of writing, after it’s done or almost done, rather than obsessing about them while doing early drafts or outlines. That will only lead to writer’s block!

Vague posting again, but it’s tiring to see the demand for puritanism of opinion from professional journalists. Yes, AO3 has a racism issue, called out by many, many BIPOC authors. Yes, AO3 has a huge issue with graphic depictions of sex involving real life under-aged people and that should be called out.
Yes, some of the scrutiny is coming from people bitter about the Hugo Award. Yes, some of the calls for action are extreme. That is going to happen online, because that always happens, no matter the issue.
No one is calling for the site to be taken down, and besides a handful of dubious tweets from people who don’t know how non-profits work, no one is demanding they do this all for free. No one wants AO3 to go away unless they are a bad faith Sad Puppy, and we don’t need to give those people a second of thought.
You can run a website however you’d like, you can handle these issues how you so choose, but you’re not free from criticism just because you provide a fandom space. It’s ridiculous to expect otherwise.
If we do not talk about these issues, they will not be resolved. BIPOC in fandom will continue to get beatdown by unaddressed racism. Survivors will continue to feel unheard and abandoned when they’re told they’re not allowed to talk about the problem with certain depictions of incest and assault.
Criticism is not censorship.
