Byleth feels a dull pain as hands tug at her hair, urging her to go lower. She ignores it, instead sinking her teeth into the pale skin of Rhea’s neck. The archbishop sucks in a breath through clenched teeth, arching her back into Byleth’s touch.

even though she might never read this bc she doesn’t know i write fanfic, s/o to my beautiful gf who helped me through my first year of college and the countless late-night talks we had that inspired me to write this.

“Do you miss home?”

The question is unexpected. Kyouka turns and sees Momo cuddled in her fur blanket, wrapping it around her as tightly as she can to protect herself from the bitter bite of the winter wind. Her nose is red from the cold, its color slowly spreading to her cheeks. As she exhales, her breath materializes momentarily, before it disappears as quickly as it appeared. Her eyes, those warm, brown eyes, shimmer in the silver moonlight, like pools of honey, as she stares straight up into the night sky, fixated.

Kyouka averts her gaze and stares down at the oversized cloak she wrapped around her body. She buries her chin and mouth in its thick fur, curling herself into a smaller ball, bringing her knees closer up to her chest.

“Yeah,” she finally says, “I do.”

There are nights when Ryuko finds it hard to sleep.

When these nights happen, it’s because the memories are too much to bear. She closes her eyes and she experiences…everything. The dented armor, the pools of blood, broken weapons sticking up from the ground and from bodies, the smell of burning flesh and wood permeating the air—it’s as if she’s standing in the middle of the battlefield again, watching everything unfold in front of her once more. She hears the cries of children, the murders of innocents, the slaughtering of her village. She trembles in place, unable to react.

The elders of her village always told her she had the fury and courage of the dragon burning inside of her, fueling her heart and soul.

That day, however, she felt like a cold coward.

OC-tober Day 1: Eldest

hey whats up mtv welcome to my OC story :^) i used @spatialheather‘s oc-tober list, so here it be. it’s a collab w/ my friend ( @idiototakus��� ily boo), and it’s been a wip for a couple of years now. basically, the premise of this is that there is a bistro/cafe where the staff are secret members of a magical society, and together they do a whole bunch of shenanigans like you know, be gay, fight evil, serve customers. this work centers between two people, a non-binary POC character named Taylor, who can manipulate electricity, and the bistro’s manager, simply known as Boss (who can shapeshift into a grizzly bear). hope you enjoy!

Summary: In which Taylor learns a little bit more about Boss and his past.

“‘Ey, Boss!”

Taylor sticks their head through the open doorway. A rugged man looks over his shoulder, piercing cyan eyes immediately finding Taylor’s warm olive. The man breaks into a grin, and when Taylor notices the prominent dimple on his right cheek, it warms their heart.

Riko sees beads of sweat collecting on her brow, blue baby hairs sticking to her forehead despite the small fan blowing into her face. Her cheeks are red due to the heat, but despite her unflattering and sweaty appearance, Kanan still wears a smile when she sees Riko standing in the doorway.

“Oh, you’re here!” Kanan rises from her spot on the floor. She pads along to where Riko is, her bare feet making little noise against the warm floorboards. “I’m surprised that you rode the ferry by yourself,” Kanan says with a laugh.

Riko feels her flushed cheeks rising in heat. “Wh-what’s that supposed to mean?!”

“Had to set up several alarms,” Kumiko said, her voice rough with fatigue as she shuffled to sit next to Reina. The moment she sat down, she rested her head on Reina’s shoulder. The fur lining Reina’s white jacket left ticklish kisses on her neck.

“Mm”—Kumiko felt Reina’s lips press against the top of her head—”are you going back to sleep, then?”

Kumiko fought through a yawn to say, “Prolly.”

Akko noticed that whenever Diana couldn’t sleep, she would always sit on the edge of the take-off bridge, her legs dangling.

It was during those times, Akko realized, that Diana looked different than she usually carried herself. Perhaps it was because of the faint moonlight draping over her, but Diana looked much softer, as if the light was enough to melt cold armor she usually wore. Her eyes shimmered like pools of water as she craned her neck up to look at the night sky. The silver halo of light that never failed to frame her in that angle made her look otherworldly, as if she were an angel plucked from the sky.

Seeing Diana like this never failed to make Akko smile to herself—the star child of Luna Nova always shined brightest when she was with her peers.

knock knock, bnha fandom? yes hello, i’m here w my rarepair.

Ochako found that sleep didn’t come easy to her as it used to.

It started when she moved into Heights Alliance. Sure, for first several weeks she would knock out like a rock, but that didn’t last. It was a subtle change, she noticed. She fell asleep at later times, the hours dragging on, and on, and on….

It would be one…then two…then three….

Before she knew it, the sun would be rising over a new day, and Ochako would be in her bed, body heavy with fatigue.

She sought other ways to help her fall asleep. Twenty or so jumping jacks, counting sheep, doing jumping jacks as she counted sheep—none of them worked. Sleep never failed to elude her, and with each passing night, Ochako grew more and more frustrated.

Eventually she decided that if she was going to spend the night wide-awake, she would do it in the common room, where at least she’d have a nice view of the sky to keep her frustrations at bay. Night after night, Ochako sat curled under a thin blanket, looking out the large, arched window, counting the countless stars dotting the night sky, alone.

This particular night, however, she wasn’t alone.

The days leading up to the Agata Festival came in a slow-kind of blur. Kumiko never really knew what happened each day, aside from the fact that she would desperately wish for the sun to go down faster so that the next day would come, followed by the next, and so on and so forth until the dawn of the Festival was on the horizon.

And what better way to spend the morning of the Festival than to run errands?

“I’m starting to think that Mom likes me back home so that she can stay inside the house,” Kumiko grumbled as she shielded her face from the blinding sun, “where there’s air conditioning.”

A sudden screech pierced the air. A bit startled, Kumiko looked over her shoulder to see what was going on.

“OH SHI—” The rest of Kumiko’s words came out as a wheeze when two women slammed into her, locking her in a rib-crushing embrace.
