Here’s the Comic’s description if you want to know a bit more about it!:

This is my showreel for most of the project’s I’ve worked on over the years, some have been personal projects, some for clients. I like to experiment with different styles, and I love to learn and try different ways of animating, but I am particularly fond of 2D animation.

OK, so story time!...
I’m not going to make this too long but anyway...
If you don’t know, I currently have an ongoing Webcomic Called Project Asylum, which you can read on Tapas for free.
one of the characters that I have is called Vincent Sumisu, who basically comes from a race of Black Vampires called the Sumisu Clan.
I’ve always hated Vincent’s first design to the current one in the comic [the bottom picture], no matter how I drew him I could never get him to look how I envisioned him, granted I was only a kid when I first started my webcomic, so my skills where not as good as I am now, but I struggled with trying to draw men, and this is gonna sounds weird but I also struggled a lot with trying to draw my own people, [black people, in case you don’t know I'm blackety black].
When I was a kid I used to draw a lot of anime characters, and I would copy my favourite characters all the time, I wouldn’t say that’s a bad way to learn how to draw, but for me I probably picked up a lot of bad habits that took a very long time to break.
I thought anime was the coolest thing ever and I wanted to draw like that, but I felt like for most anime styles, they kind of go against black features [not on purpose obviously since anime = Japan], but as a kid, I thought that anime characters had to look a certain way to even be considered “anime” and if I didn’t make my characters look like the anime characters then people will think my art is ugly and hate it.
so whenever someone told me, “that looks cool, but why don’t you draw black people?” I was confused because to me I was drawing black people within the box that was anime, I didn’t realise I could draw outside that box until I got a bit older and wiser, and little by little, I’ve been climbing out of that box and in doing so I feel like I’m starting to finally develop my own style, that may not be “typically anime” anymore, but I’m ok with that.

I've been wanting to try drawing something neon since forever, and I think I've finally done it (somewhat successfully I mean)! 😂 Anyway, this is my favourite OC Karma, If you don't know, she's from my Webcomic Project Asylum which you can read on tapas: tapas.io/series/Project-Asylum. This is basically a re-drew of something I made a long time ago back in 2014, I wanted to re-draw it since Karma has changed a lot since then, Originally, Karma shared the same body as Shimoon (one of my other characters) but over the years Karama has grown into a strong independent woman who doesn't need to share a body. I've been really wanting to do a side comic about karma lately but I'll have to wait until I'm not so busy... INSTAGRAM || FACEBOOK || TWITTER || WEBCOMIC || DEVIANTART
