I just finished the latest chapter of Divine Ruination. It’s official Sukuna has gone full Yandere mode because he’s gone the route if I can’t have you no one will, but instead of killing Spices, It’s everyone she cares about and considering the Shinjuku Showdown is on the horizon and after reading Forever and Some More latest chapter… I’m gonna cry my eyes out soon. Also since it’s essentially alluded that Spices made a binding vow with herself, is is possible that Spices may have an increase in curse energy reserves or develop a technique of her own, but she shortens her own life? You don’t have to go into detail, just wandering if it along those lines or something completely different.

You're right, Spices did make a binding vow, and yes, it's directly tied to increasing the chances of recovering her memories at the cost of her life span. She's always been prepared to go down with Sukuna from the start.

Remember when Angel hit Sukuna with Jacob's Ladder after he took over Megumi's body? Spices was praying it would work, fully ready to die with him if that's what it took. (Too bad Hana fumbled the bag 😂)

And yep, Sukuna's determined now, and he's ✨not like other yanderes✨ because it's not just "if I can't have you, no one will."

It's "I will have you... and you will have me, too. I'll just remove every other option you've ever had, babe."

Yes! I actually have some ideas for a sequel to Spices and Toge! His confrontation with his father and the tension between Spices and Toge's family (who totally blame Spices for him cutting them off) are meant to set up his sequel. It's going to be about Toge dealing with family expectations and, in a way, finding his voice 👀

That said, no promises! I've got way too many unfinished fics I'm wrestling with right now 😂 But in the meantime, here are a few headcanons I have for him:

Maki and Panda definitely don't understand most of what he says. They rely entirely on his facial expressions, mostly his eyes really, plus tone and body language. Sometimes they get it totally wrong, but Toge just goes with it.

He sends the most devastating memes in the group chat.

Sleep-talking is a serious risk for him, so he avoids napping around others. At night, he probably wears a custom mouthguard just to be extra careful.

Because he spends so much time listening, he notices things most people miss. Using his voice as a weapon has made him hyper-aware of the power of words. He's scarily good at picking up on lies and manipulation.

He's studied ventriloquism and vocal techniques extensively to maximize his cursed speech efficiency.

He likely keeps a journal, an outlet for all the things he can't say out loud.

hi amee! i’ve been reading your work for a while now (i survived waiting for Your Life As A Tokyo Jujutsu High Background Student updates), but this is my first time sending you an ask. i wanna preface this by saying i absolutely love your work! YLAATJHBS had me intrigued from the start and i loved it so much i’ve reread it several times as well as The Zen’in Curse. i don’t really have a question to ask, just wanted to share my thoughts and feelings on Divine Ruination.

full disclosure: i am NOT caught up with the story. i started it immediately after YLAATJHBS bc i wanted (read: NEEDED) something to tide me over until you started the next installment of The Kingmaker Series, and sukuna is one of my favorite jjk characters so this was like a double win for me. i only got through maybe 4-5 chapters before stopping, tried to pick it up again, and stopped again. before i go any further, i want to clarify something. Divine Ruination is just as well written and intriguing as YLAATJHBS, arguably moreso but i know that’s just my biased opinion as a sukuna girlie 😅 anyway, the reason i find myself struggling to read it is 100% a me thing. i read all the tags and warnings (thank you for tagging it properly btw!) so i knew what i was getting into beforehand. some of those tags can be triggers for me so i use my own discretion to decide if want to read it.

the problem i came across wasn’t the tags, but simply that you’re a little TOO good at what you do. see i’m the type of reader that gets really immersed in what i’m reading. idk if it works the same for others, but for me what i’m reading plays out like a movie in my head, especially when it’s a character/reader relationship. it probably sounds silly but the embarrassing moments, the judgement and hate spices gets from the others while they’re trapped with sukuna, and just knowing that this is a “what if” timeline where things didn’t work out makes it hard for me to read bc i feel like i’m experiencing everything firsthand AND bc i love me some angst and hurt for the plot, but i’m soft and need that comfort and happy ending to make me feel better. 😂😭

i hope that i’ve expressed myself well enough that you take this as the compliment it’s meant to be. like i said, you’re a little TOO good at writing and the fact that this is the reason i’m struggling to read Divine Ruination (and not the tags despite them being potential triggers) is a testament to that. i think once i mentally and emotionally prepare myself a little better for the angst and hurt, i’ll get back into it bc it truly is so well written and i find myself wanting/needing to know what’s going on every time i get the notification that it’s been updated. (i’m subscribed to you on ao3 and have notifs on for you here so i stay in the loop 🤭)

anyways, in the meantime i’ve been enjoying The Necessity Of Treachery and i think i’ll reread A Family of Villains while i wait for those updates. ☺️

That said, I completely understand needing to take breaks from the heavy stuff, especially when you feel it on that deep, immersive level. (Honestly? That's not silly at all. Think more along the lines of the mythical fox spirit: shapeshifter, dangerously beautiful, cunning, and not above ruining a man's life for fun. (More rambling under ⬇️)

These foxy cuties go by many names: Jiuweihu in Chinese, Kitsune in Japanese, and Kumiho in Korean. Across cultures, they're known for being clever, seductive, sometimes malicious, sometimes helpful, depends on their mood (and the story). But in general, if one shows up, a man's about to get emotionally or literally wrecked.

An A+ example of fox girl is Daji, the legendary nine-tailed fox who seduced King Zhou of Shang and basically tanked an entire dynasty. Iconic behavior, really.
