You rolled to your left side. Then you rolled to your right side. Finally, you tried sleeping on your back. But it never felt right without a heavy weight pressing down on you.

You sighed, desperately grabbing for a pillow or anything that could be molded into something to hug. You were so lonely now, back in the human world. You buried your face into your blanket, growing more and more agitated the more ticks went by on the watch on your desk.

Your phone buzzed. You sighed out aggressively and blindly reached out for it. You peered over your blanket, staring blearily at the text.

I miss you.

Trust Belphie to make anything worse than it has to be.

You groaned, ducking your head back down into the fabric. You missed him too. Stupid demon. Your grip tightened on the phone painfully.

You wanted to be there, whether it was in the twins’ room or the attic, and you wanted Belphie there too, curled up next to you.

You wanted him to force you into an uncomfortable sleeping position just so he was comfy. You wanted him to spread eagle on top of you, drooling disgustingly into your neck. You wanted him to ask you to carry him down the stairs to breakfast. You wanted him to suddenly appear in your room and just be there with you.

You looked up at the ceiling. You didn’t know how to summon demons to your realm yet. It required a more sophisticated spell Solomon hadn’t taught you yet. But, he had been teaching you a different kind of spell.

You closed your eyes, thinking of the attic in the House of Lamentation. Maybe… Maybe you could do it.

And then suddenly you were falling and crashing into the hard floor, a pained shout echoing throughout the room.

You were tangled in your own blanket and unable to get out. Plus, you were pretty sure your nose was bleeding.

“…Pft!” You could hear familiar giggling as a hand pushed you to be on your back. “Welcome home.” The part of the blanket covering your face was pulled down. Belphie stared down at you, a wide grin on his face. Whether he was smiling at you being there or you being in pain was up for debate.

Not even bothering to free you, he heaved you up into his arms, stumbling over to the attic bed. He dropped you ungracefully onto the bed and climbed in after you, arms shaking from the effort. “I missed you,” he echoed his test, molding easily into your form and curling his arms around you.

He buried his face into you, his smile growing larger. You had to fight to keep your eyes open. Right before you closed them you saw him a peek an eye open at you.

“I knew you’d come if I texted you that,” he admitted, forcing a leg in between your own to get closer. “I didn’t know you’d fall on the floor though. Sorry.”

“Shut up,” you mumbled, getting hair in your mouth when he shifted closer. You hadn’t slept in days and you weren’t going to let Belphie ruin it with his chit chat. “Goodnight. Love you.”

“…Love you too,” he pressed a kiss to your collar bone, grip tightening on you.
