As silly as it sounds, I'm making studying my act of rebellion. They want us to be uneducated and blissfully ignorant? Too bad, I'm off to do my calc homework and then talk about the government with my political science major roommate.

Social media in the US is now being controlled and censored. Check your Instagram account, Meta is making people follow the POTUS and VP accounts, even after unfollowing and blocking.

This is getting really bad.

I'm scared.

I'm angry.

I want to interview him, and question him about the contradictions in his speeches.

We can't even pretend to be free anymore.

omg i'm aliveeee i straight up forgot about this account to be honest, i've been super duper busy with school and haven't been active on anything lately. oops! well i'm gonna try and be on here more, and i'm starting a study-with-me youtube channel to hopefully keep me accountable for doing my work. i made a blog for the channel (@skyes-messy-desk) for updates and stuff.

anyways, religion-wise, i haven't been very good about practicing lately. i have some charmed jewelry i wear regularly but it's hard to practice in a dorm with very limited space, and i'm always so busy and tired. hopefully after finals i can make a better routine, but for now i'm just praying that i'll pass my classes.

i'm a midwesterner however my mom is from the west coast so she's instilled a fear of tornadoes/storms in me and it's so hard to break. but like i just gotta try and think about how the plants like the rain and how the thunderstorms help mushrooms grow (side note mushrooms are so frickin cool from a science perspective)

but you will never catch me on my front porch with sirens going off, absolutely not, i'm wrapped in a blanket in my basement praying that a tree doesn't fall on my house lol.

however i'd much rather have a tornado than an earthquake bc at least you can hide from a storm, earthquakes you just get got

i love bees so much!!! symbols of persephone, hekate, hades, the underworld itself!! and they're so good for the environment and they're all fuzzy and cute!! however. if one gets too close to me i will freeze in terror. it is purely irrational and i know they won't hurt me but i've never been stung and i get so scared :(((

Welcome to my altar!

I'm Skye! I'm nonbinary and queer and use they/them pronouns. Here are some things about me and my practice!

I'm majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology and plan on becoming a genetic researcher!

I have a genetic chronic illness called EDS that basically makes the glue in my body not work, causing joint issues and such. I'll talk about it every now and then as it relates to my practice.

I've been practicing witchcraft for almost five years now. I work with Greek deities the most, but every once in a while I'll branch out.

The deities I work with the most are Persephone, Hades, and Hekate. I'm developing my relationship with Hestia and Athena more at the moment!

I'm beginning to veil, but because of my situation at the moment I don't do it very often.

As a budding scientist, I am of the belief that magick is just science we don't yet understand. Quantum physics and energy are super interesting to me and I love incorporating science into my practice. This being said, I completely accept other belief systems/ways of thinking about spirituality because I believe that if you believe in something, it can become reality, almost like a Schrödinger's cat situation.

Feel free to ask me questions about my practice or beliefs! I'll try my best to respond, but as I'm chronically ill and in school it might take me a little bit.
