Genuinely, I don't think saying that you're proship and in the same breath telling people to keep their darkship stuff private, cause someone might see it who gets triggered by it, is the take you think it is.

There are CWs and TWs for a reason, so the person who is affected by that, can filter it out. I'm not here to cater to the what-ifs and could-bes, I'm just sharing my fan work that has the right to be seen by like-minded peeps like any other non-darkship stuff.

do people even know what proshipping is atp?? like, even people in the community totally misuse the label. being a proshipper means ship and let ship-- anti-harassment basically. yet, we still go out and harass people for stuff?? like, buddy??? and then it tarnishes the whole proshipping community sob sob and then anti-shippers are soo meaann siasur uuofoghj waahhh.. they either don't understand that a dni goes both ways, or tell misinformation about what proshipping actually isssjwhah no, we aren't pedophiles. no, we aren't preying on real life people. and, no, we aren't encouraging this in real life. we're just shipping fictional characters in a fictional environment. it's totally valid to be upset if someone makes a darkship with your characters w/o your consent, or if someone posts something triggering w/o a tw-- but that isn't the whole community. please be nicer guys.. 😿 (just quickly saying; it's better to keep darkship stuff private!!!! there are other ways to find like-minded people!! darkshipping can be harmful to sensitive people, and if you're doing it for coping, there isn't any real reason to be sharing it outside of a protected space. <3) (alssooo, in case you didn't know there difference between the labels (proship, darkship, comship, etc) here are some quick definitions ^_^ proshipper = someone who ships and lets ship. people who are proshippers don't believe that someone should be harassed for what they ship.

darkshipper = someone who ships things that are typically considered immoral (incest, minor x adult, toxic relationships, etc..) comshipper = someone who ships things that are a little complicated (angel x devil, mortal x immortal, etc..))

I've seen those tags consisting of "go away if you ship this", "don't read as ship", so many times before, and it's honestly exhausting.

And even if it's on a ship I don't like, don't know, or don't even ship. They're getting hit with the block button so fast, because I don't have the time or the energy to deal with that.

am i the only one who sees people reblogging things and going "you would never survive in x fandom?"

this is mostly directed towards people who post their writing and art and put "DO NOT READ AS SHIP" or have "if you like x stay the fuck away" or any of the more extreme things, because like??

do you not enjoy fun? people are gonna view your art regardless of what you say, what does tagging that sort of thing actually do? fuck, im less likely to interact with something i see that on, and i doubt im the only one.

For me — Mainly the extreme size difference and power imbalance, I think. This big shock factor of taking something innocent and pure and twisting it into something that shouldn't be. Breaking them and seeing what happens.

(All in a fictional context, ofc. Like playing with dolls and letting your imagination run wild with the possibilities. The most depraved things you could think of. And applying them to this ship/situation just to see what happens to feed the curiosity.)

Proshippers (or anyone, really) who prefer(s) adult/minor ships and/or have an underage f/o, what is the appeal for you?
