Updated my old snake mascot for fun. Hand-animated it, because it felt more entertaining
A bit out of left field if you don't have the context. I've used the artist name 'Snake' for most of my life at this point. It's been so long I completely forgot I had a little snake mascot for a short while. Ca. 2007-ish I think. Used to look like this:

Still recovering, trying to shake some rust off, and its been a short while since I painted something. I had no particular plan for this one, but the elements ended up falling into place as things went along. Was a nice exercise.
Appreciate everyone that stopped by to watch the process on stream
(Every once in a while, I'll do paintings live at: https://www.twitch.tv/snakepixel )
I never made the bosses for the Megaman X hobby-project I did 13 years ago. I aimed for a look somewhere between X3-X4. Crane, Hermit-Crab, Giraffe, Porcupine and Angler are newer. Mosquito, Fox and Possum were based on 25 year old sketches. It was nice to pixel something for fun again.
That concludes Season 1 of Donnie Friday! So what happens now? Excessive sleep? A crash in the coffin-lid market? No more Fridays?! The future is uncertain, though... this is not the last we've seen of Donnie.
The season concluded in November 2022. Appreciate everyone joining in on this re-run!
👻 IT'S HERE! PRESENTING CARO GREENE'S MIL-LIMINAL-THE PODCAST! 👻
Consider this a soft launch cuz i know it's not live on ALL services yet, but you can now listen to the introduction episode of Caro's podcast, Mil-Liminal on Youtube, Podcast Addict, Podbean, and Spotify, and probably more cuz idk how distribution works.
There will be a full length episode soon, but for now, take a listen to the intro, and if you like it, share it to your friends to help people find it! Its written in a way anyone can jump in, even if they aren't familiar with the comics or characters. Thank you SO MUCH for all the support getting here, I'm so happy to finally be able to do this!
Mil-Liminal is a cozy horror podcast featuring the charming and slightly unhinged Caro Greene, an employee working the counter during the night shift at a tiny gas station in the middle of the woods. Join their journey of witnessing the unexplainable! Liminal spaces, ghosts and ghouls galore, there won't be any jump-scares or hopelessness, just unsettling vibes with moments of comedy to lighten the mood. The podcast is in canonical order, meaning the first episode is Caro's first 'episode' as well, learning as they go to create their podcast.
Hey, new follower here - would you ever post the concept art or standalone images for the big armored lout who keeps bothering Donnie Friday? Fella's got a great aesthetic going, if only they'd lighten up a little
Surprisingly, there is none. While I sometimes make test-sketches or a more elaborate design process for a larger project, none of the characters in Donnie Friday were pre-planned. I created them on the spot for the scenes they're used for.
These are the two scene-doodles that I refined for the episode, and you can see, all the design elements were there from the start.
I tend to get fully formed designs in my head for certain projects, and considering Donnie Friday was initially a set of gags I found funny, every character came with it already complete in my head.
