A piece I did for @nulvo's monthly art challenge c:

This month's theme was "Festival of Flowers," so I went with one of my favorite sights from the local prairies, a hill covered in Liatris.

My scanner isn't a fan of magenta, so this is more purple in person. Maybe I'll get it to a better scanner someday, but until then, we'll just have to deal with unusually blue Liatris.

Featured plants: Liatris pycnostachya (prairie blazing star), Helianthus occidentalis (western sunflower), Parthenium integrifolium (wild quinine), Asclepias tuberosa (butterfly weed)
