I was re-reading the KNB Replace novel and Extra Game, and something I noticed was that in the Replace novel story where Nijimura meets Himuro in LA for the first time, it mentions that Nijimura tried to distance himself from the GoM + Kuroko, and that's why he would only hear about what they're doing from other people. But in Extra Game, when Kiyoshi is talking about the Jabberwock vs Vorpal Swords match, Nijimura says that Akashi told him a little bit about it. Going by the timeline, it implies that Nijimura didn't give any of the GoM or Kuroko a way to contact him after he graduated (or maybe he did but he didn't talk to them much), but as all the former Teiko members got back together and started hanging out again post-Winter Cup, they managed to somehow get back in touch with him and now they give him life updates from time to time, which I think is super cute.

im rewatching the 2007 dmc anime

i rlly forgot how fucking depressed he was in this

pretty sure the timeline of the anime takes place after dmc1 so this would be after meeting trish, going to mallet island and yknow…. Sad boi hours

Lets go over the checklist of why

The only food we see him eating can be classified as comfort food, pizza and strawberry sundae’s

if he’s not on jobs, jobs that could get him killed, so chalk that up to some sort of suicidal ideation, then he’s sleeping….

and him being so far in debt (mainly to morrison and lady), that could either be a) he truly is shit at money management or b) this is his way to keep people from leaving/abandoning him, since they still have payments to collect, they probably wouldn’t leave without they’re payment being complete…

Patty Lowell basically gave that man a kick in the ass, anytime she was around he was mostly awake and/or attentive. AND SHE STUCK AROUND AND KEEPS HARASSING HIM IN DMC5. He became single mother till her mother came back.
