DIONYSUS

Welcome to the divine assignment of the month! This February we want to celebrate with wine, in nature, wildly and with as much pleasure as possible. Therefore, here we have: DIONYSUS
Dionysus is the god of wine, madness, vegetation, pleasure, festivities and frenzy. Son of Zeus and Semele, married to Ariadne. There were two ways of representing him in art: as a middle-aged man with a beard, or as an effeminate young man.
His attributes are the thyrsus, a cup and a crown of ivy; and his sacred animals are the panther (sometimes leopard), the tiger, the bull and the serpent. He used to be accompanied by satyrs and maenads. The color most associated with him is purple.
The most important and well-known places of worship of this god are Naxos and Thebes, where his most renowned temples are located.
One of the best known myths of Dionysus is that of his birth. Zeus and Semele, princess of Thebes, conceived Dionysus. Hera, filled with jealousy, convinced the princess to ask Zeus to appear before her in his true form, in all his glory.
Zeus, obliged to comply with this request, did so, and Semele was burned to death by his form and lightning. Luckily, the god was able to recover the baby's body and sewed it in his thigh, where he could finish forming until he was born. Then, depending on the source, Zeus gave the child to Hermes, in other versions to Persephone or Rhea, and they gave it to Dionysus' aunt and her husband: Ino and Athamas. They convinced the couple to raise Dionysus as if he were a girl.
However, Hera's jealousy caused her to drive them both mad, causing them to kill their own children and then themselves. Zeus, to save Dionysus, turned him into a ram and took him to the nymphs of Mount Nyssa, where they raised him in a cave.
Nowadays, Dionysus has been associated as the patron saint of trans and androgynous people, due to the fact that he was raised partly as a woman and was associated with male and female characteristics in antiquity.
Other associations of Dionysus are theater and choral singing. In fact, during his festivities tragedies and comedies were performed, and the plays dedicated to the god had choral singing and dancing.
Dionysus is a god with multiple epithets and myths, all of them important to understand his changing character and his relationship with the other gods. Although some associations and relationships between them are more recent, such as the comparison between Dionysus and Apollo in Nietzsche's studies.
He is also a god known for driving mortals to madness, as he has myths in which his vengeance against those who go against him is shown in great detail. Such as the myth of Pentheus of Thebes or the Tyrrhenian pirates.
Now, what can be worked with this god? Mental health (please also remember to go to mental health professionals) is one of the aspects that can be best worked with Dionysus. Inhibition, the understanding of personal pleasures, the knowledge of your limits, the contradiction between what is socially correct and your vices or desires... He is a perfect god for shadow work and to delve into our wildest side and rooted to the most primitive pleasure, including leisure.
He helps you to express yourself, to find a way to show who you are in every step you take, to speak out and give your opinion no matter who hears it, etc. But he also helps with theater, acting, choral music (share with Apollo and the muses), etc.
Offerings to Dionysus can be grapes, wine, participating in plays or going to see them, being indulgent in your leisure time and in what you desire, honey, ivy leaves, cups, purple candles, hymns, handwritten prayers, one could even make a pact with him in self-pleasure (such as masturbation), purple crystals such as amethyst, and many more offerings.
And that’s the end of the thread! 🍇

🖤 Protection Against the Dark Arts 🔮✨
Take out your grimoire, light a candle, and let’s begin with the fundamentals.
🌙 Chapter 1: Cleansings, Protections & Banishments 🌙
Before we talk about protection, let’s ask: What exactly are we shielding ourselves from? The unseen world is vast, and not everything in it has good intentions. Here are the five main types of magical and energetic disturbances you may encounter:
⚡ Spirits who feel wronged or restless. ⚡ Novice practitioners poking where they shouldn't. ⚡ The weight of broken oaths and unfulfilled promises. ⚡ Malicious intent from other witches (yes, even in WitchTok). ⚡ Astral parasites, low vibrations, and unwanted entities.
If you maintain a regular (but not obsessive) cleansing and protection practice, you’ll be just fine. But how do you know when you’re under attack?
🔮 Signs of Energetic Disturbance 🔮
🕯️ External Signs: A sudden streak of bad luck, patterns of misfortune that seem unnatural. 🕯️ Mental & Emotional Signs: Anxiety that appears out of nowhere, intrusive thoughts, nightmares where you are hunted, trapped, or tormented. If a spirit is involved, you may feel watched, drained, or uneasy in your own space. 🕯️ Physical Signs: Persistent headaches, fatigue that no amount of sleep can fix, nausea with no apparent cause. 🕯️ Omens: Recurring symbols in dreams—dead animals, shadow figures, places you cannot escape from. 🕯️ Intuition: If you suddenly feel compelled to cleanse or protect your space, trust yourself. Some witches even sense negative energy through scent—pay attention to what your body tells you.
⚠️ BUT REMEMBER: Not everything is an attack. Headaches happen. People get sick. A string of bad luck doesn’t always mean your neighbor Karen is hexing you. Most "curses" are self-inflicted by fear and suggestion. Before diving into spiritual solutions, check in with your physical and mental health.
✨ Protection Basics ✨
🕯️ The Sphere of Light – A simple yet powerful visualization technique. 🛁 Cleansing & Protection Baths – Water is a natural purifier. Salt, herbs, and intention amplify its power. 🧂 Salt – A classic, whether sprinkled at doorways, carried in a sachet, or dissolved in bathwater. 📿 Talismans & Charms – Protection jewelry, enchanted sigils, or blessed objects.
🏡 For Home Protection 🏡
💨 Smoke Cleansing: Use sacred herbs or resins—frankincense, myrrh, dragon’s blood, palo santo, sandalwood. 💎 Crystals: Tourmaline, obsidian, selenite, and white quartz create a strong energetic shield. 🔏 Sigils: Draw them on doors, windows, or mirrors—just remember to cleanse first before sealing!
🖤 Self-Cleansing Rituals 🖤
🕯️ Egg cleansings for absorbing negativity. 💦 Showers with salt or herbal infusions. 💨 Incense rituals to purify your aura.
✨ Banishment: When the Shadows Won’t Leave ✨
Sometimes, despite our best efforts, something unwanted lingers. When that happens, it’s time for a banishment.
🔥 Candle Banishing – A word of caution: Never leave a candle unattended, especially if you’ve added herbs or oils. Fire is a spirit of its own—respect it. 💨 Banishing Incense – Some of the best options include laurel, dragon’s blood, and frankincense. 🛡️ Divine Intervention – If you work with deities, call upon one aligned with protection and purification. 🌿 Banishing Herbs & Spices – Lavender, cloves, bay leaves, and lemon verbena hold strong purifying properties.
Curious for more? Our full 30+ page guide on protection, cleansing, and banishment is coming soon to our Ko-fi! 🌙✨
Stay safe, witches. The veil is thin, but you are powerful. 🖤🔮

Retrograde Planets in a Natal Chart: Meaning and Explanation
The mere mention of the word “retrograde” sends shivers down many people's spines, and even those who don’t know much about astrology react with concern when they hear “Mercury retrograde" or "mercury is on the microwave". But what does it really mean for a planet to be in retrograde motion, and how does it influence our natal chart?
When a planet is retrograde in your birth chart, its energy does not flow directly and externally; instead, it turns inward, requiring a deeper process of assimilation. This can manifest as difficulties in expressing that energy or feeling like it’s hard to channel it naturally. In some cases, it may feel completely blocked, requiring conscious effort to unlock its potential.
To better understand its impact, let’s explore the meaning of each planet when it appears in a retrograde state in a natal chart. ✨
There is an astrological perspective that suggests retrograde planets in a natal chart represent areas of life where, during childhood, we were not able to freely express our energy. These early restrictions may have led us to internalize those qualities, developing a more introspective relationship with them or feeling blocked when trying to manifest them externally.
A planet is in retrograde motion when, from our perspective on Earth, it appears to move backward in its orbit. This doesn’t mean the planet is actually reversing its course—it’s an optical illusion caused by differences in orbital speeds between Earth and the other planets.
In astrology, retrograde motion symbolizes introspective energy. Retrograde planets represent areas in our lives where we need to look inward, review, heal, and learn deep lessons before we can fully express that energy in the external world.
How to Interpret Retrograde Planets in a Natal Chart
When a planet is retrograde in your birth chart, its influence tends to be more internal and reflective. It may manifest as blocks, challenges, or the feeling that you need to put in extra effort in that area of life. It can also indicate a connection to past lives or lessons carried over from other phases of existence.
Let’s explore the meaning of each planet when it is retrograde in a natal chart:
🌞 Mercury Retrograde: Internalized Thought and Communication Mercury governs communication, logic, and quick thinking. When retrograde in a natal chart, it can indicate difficulties in verbal expression, a preference for writing over speaking, or a tendency to overthink before communicating. This suggests a person who leans toward introversion and, in extreme cases, may struggle with learning difficulties in early life. It can also indicate self-doubt regarding one’s own ideas and excessive self-criticism. 🔮 How to work with it: Learn to trust your own voice and thought process. Avoid excessive self-criticism and allow yourself to share ideas without fear.
🌹 Venus Retrograde: Love and Self-Worth Venus rules love, relationships, beauty, and pleasure. If retrograde in your chart, it can manifest in two ways: difficulties in giving and receiving love, or a tendency toward narcissism. There may be insecurity in relationships or a pattern of attracting toxic connections that require healing. It can also indicate a complicated relationship with self-love and self-esteem. On the other side, it may point to someone who prioritizes self-admiration over genuine emotional connections. 🔮 How to work with it: Learn to value yourself before seeking external validation. Work on self-love and cultivate healthy, balanced relationships.
🔥 Mars Retrograde: Willpower and Action Mars is the planet of action, passion, and raw energy. When retrograde in a natal chart, it can cause hesitation before taking action or difficulty expressing anger and desires. The person may repress their energy or only react when the pressure becomes too intense. In some cases, this individual may lack the competitive drive that Mars typically represents, fear taking risks, or struggle with insecurity. 🔮 How to work with it: Learn to act with confidence and express anger in a healthy way. Find a balance between impulsivity and inaction.
🌀 Jupiter Retrograde: Internal Growth and Beliefs Jupiter represents expansion, wisdom, and luck. When retrograde in a chart, learning tends to be deeply introspective and philosophical. Instead of seeking truth externally, the person finds wisdom within. These individuals may develop their own moral code rather than follow societal norms. There may also be a feeling of limitation in life, as if luck takes longer to arrive or success requires more effort. 🔮 How to work with it: Learn to trust your inner knowledge and find abundance from within. Cultivate faith in the universe without needing external validation.
⚡ Saturn Retrograde: Responsibility and Life Lessons Saturn is the planet of karma, discipline, maturity, and structure. Its retrograde position in a natal chart can indicate an extra sense of responsibility in certain life areas. This person may appear stoic on the outside but internally overthink and worry excessively. They may experience blocks related to self-discipline or fear of failure, leading to a need for control over everything and everyone. Alternatively, if their upbringing was overly strict, they might rebel completely against structure. 🔮 How to work with it: Heal wounds related to duty and self-expectation. Learn to set healthy boundaries, let go of control, and trust in the timing of life.
🌊 Uranus Retrograde: Inner Rebellion and Transformation Uranus is the planet of innovation, revolution, and radical change. When retrograde in a natal chart, the individual may have eccentric tastes and a rebellious spirit. They might hold unconventional ideas but fear change, preferring to stick to old habits. 🔮 How to work with it: Embrace your uniqueness and learn to express it without fear of rejection. Channel innovation into tangible actions.
🌊 Neptune Retrograde: Internalized Spirituality and Dreams Neptune rules dreams, spirituality, and illusion. A retrograde Neptune can indicate a strong spiritual connection but also struggles with fantasy or internal conflicts. There may be a tendency to disconnect from reality or a deep desire to escape the material world. In extreme cases, it may lead to martyrdom or vulnerability to addictions. 🔮 How to work with it: Balance intuition with reality. Develop spirituality without getting lost in illusions.
🔥 Pluto Retrograde: Transformation and Inner Power Pluto represents deep transformation, death, rebirth, and power. If retrograde in a natal chart, the person may experience intense internal power struggles, resisting authority while struggling to accept their own desire for control. 🔮 How to work with it: Learn to embrace change without fear. Discover personal power without resorting to control or manipulation.
Conclusion: What Does It Mean to Have Multiple Retrograde Planets in Your Chart?
Having retrograde planets in your natal chart is not a bad thing—it’s an invitation to look within. These energies require deeper work but also offer immense growth and wisdom when understood and accepted. If you have multiple retrograde planets, you are likely an introspective person with many life lessons focused on self-discovery. These placements encourage you to review patterns, heal wounds, and trust your own evolutionary process.
🌙 Remember: Astrology does not dictate our fate; it serves as a guide to better understand our journey. If you have retrograde planets, it doesn’t mean you are doomed to struggle—it means you have a unique opportunity to explore your inner world and grow from within.
Do you have retrograde planets in your natal chart? Let me know in the comments, and let’s talk about it! ✨🔮

Religion doesn’t have to be hard or scary. It can be easy as dedicating the best bite of food to the gods, or taking care of yourself in their name. Let your intuition guide you, and don’t let the fear that you’re doing it wrong stop you from trying. 💖

spell jars: maintenance
if you've crafted a spell jar that you'd like to work for an extended period of time, maintenance of said jar is highly suggested - in this case specifically, i'm gonna use benefic spell jars as an example.
just like a device that operates on battery (can you tell i like this analogy?), a spell jar should be charged on a regular basis to maintain its integrity and functionality. a little housekeeping, if you will.
spell jar maintenance:
clean the outside of the jar - wipe it down and dust it off
take a look inside - does anything look unintentionally moldy or unsavory?
if so, you might consider remaking the jar - unless the jar is meant to be baneful in nature, soured ingredients likely won't help manifest something positive
otherwise, you can cleanse the jar of any negative energy that it may have acquired since its creation and recharge it with the same energy, intent, and ingredients
or you can remake it all together
when does a spell jar need to be maintained?
when it stops working
when you fail to see the results you wanted
when you feel like it needs a little boost
when you want to reevaluate your intentions
when you need a fresh start
when the vibes are off
whenever you want
disassembling a spell jar
you can literally just throw it in the trash if you want to
but you can also:
bury the rest of the ingredients
burn them
leave them outdoors to be reclaimed by nature
etc.
your mileage may vary, but as always:
don't burn toxic herbs, don't fuck up the environment, and practice fire safety :)

Greek God Apollo ☀️
Hello everyone! We wanted our first informative post to be about this amazing god who has lighten our paths many times during these years. So here you have a small post about him!
Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto, titan of the light of night and, later, light of day; and twin brother of Artemis.
God of light, medicine, diseases, plagues, dance, music, writing, arts, divination and prophecy, initiation, colonization, archery, youth and male beauty, among other things.
His best known places of worship were Delphi and Delos, but Apollo's cults have been all over Greece and have been very varied. Moreover, as a god of colonization, many of his cults invaded the lands of others and forced them to worship Apollo. A well-known case is that of the women who worshipped Gaia who ended up being massacred by one of the cults of Apollo, and it was this fact that gave rise to the myth of Apollo and Daphne.
Being such a popular god in both Greece and Rome, he has a multitude of myths that reflect very well his diversity and ambivalence. Let's talk about, for example, that of his birth, which can also be consulted in the Homeric Hymn III to Apollo. Here we will speak only of one of the versions, since it has several.
It all begins when Zeus got Leto pregnant. Hera, who was jealous, made it impossible for Leto to give birth anywhere both on land and in the ocean. Luckily for Leto, his sister Asteria had also been harassed by Zeus and, to escape from him, had turned herself into a floating island by the name of Ortigia. Thus, Leto found a place to rest.
However, Hera had put more obstacles in her way. She had forbidden Ilithia, goddess of childbirth, to attend the titanide, so Leto spent nine days and nine nights in agony until the other gods managed to bribe Ilithia.
First Artemis was born, who assisted her mother to help in the birth of Apollo; he was born on the seventh day of the month, hence the number usually associated with the god.
Ortigia was renamed Delos, where a temple and a statue were established in honor of Apollo. From here comes one of his epithets: Delius Apollo.
On the other hand, the serpent or dragon Python resided in Delphi, where he had an oracle. It is said that one of his prophecies spoke that it would be a son of Leto who would kill him, so he had pursued the Titan during her pregnancy and did not stop until Zeus put a stop to it.
Thus, on the fourth day of his birth, Apollo set out for Delphi with his bow and arrows in hand to avenge his mother. There he killed Python with one of his arrows, and one of his epithets is "Apollo far-shooter", and took the oracle. Other versions say that he chased the dragon to Tempe and killed him there.
Apollo established his oracle in Delphi and, in honor of Python, placed his bones in a cauldron that would serve both for the oracle and for the initiation of the Pythia. And here is born another of his epithets: Apollo Pythius.
As you can see, he is a rational and at the same time visceral god. He has his reasons for killing Python, but he still doesn't think twice and does it.
There are many more myths, such as that of Admetus and Apollo, Niobe and the children of Leto, or the well-known myths of Apollo and his lovers (which are not few), such as Daphne, Hyacinth, Cassandra, Cipariso or Coronis. I invite you to read them and learn about him.
As for his attributes, Apollo is related to the number 7, to wolves for shepherding, to mice for plagues, to laurel for his myth with Daphne or even for his myth with Python and his victory against him, to hyacinths for the myth of Hyacinth and an endless number of animals, plants and crystals such as crows, cypresses or the sunstone.
He is also characterized by his silver bow, the sun and the lyre, which he acquired from Hermes.
Apollo is the chief of the muses and nymphs, the lord of the arts in all fields, although at the beginning it was especially of dance. And, if you want to work something related to the arts, Apollo is the right god.
The arts, oratory, divination, sports, self-esteem, self-respect, anxiety, medicine (biosanitary field in general), decision making, personal growth, etc., are areas that can be worked with him.
Personally I have a very good relationship with Apolo. I have been in contact with him for a few years now and we have worked on some things together, and I can assure you that it is a pleasure to work and talk with him. I don't want to generalize, because the gods present themselves differently to each person, but he tends to be patient and very kind, as well as funny if he trusts you.
Apollo is, in my opinion, such a diverse and magnificent god that you can learn everything from him. Just don't piss him off, because his bow never misses and it hurts when he shoots an arrow.
And so much for this divine Sunday! This month we dedicate it to Apollo in the account. What did you think? Do you want to know more about him? Have a sunny day ☀️
