daily pixel art blog day 26
"Return to echo, now!" The Watcher (from rain world) as Melinoë (from hades II) had a lot more freetime today and since i finally have my meds again i can actually focus lol. decided to make this a proper animation since the whole concept was around the death animation in hades II. really proud of how this turned out! although i was a bit of a fool and made 14 WHOLE LAYERS which was both great and a massive mistake honestly.
overall this was a pretty good practice for hair and cloth, will probably not post any other watcher stuff for a while since i should try drawing actual people lol.

daily pixel art blog day 25
barely got anything done today since i was super swamped but got progress done on funny foot tall rat in cosplay. spent a little bit tweaking details on the dress that it turns out is completely covered by the hand so here's what it looks like
annoyed i didn't get more done but it's at least progress. i think next i have to work on would be getting the hands in a better pose but for now i really need to sleep. might properly tag this project when i finish it for real.

daily pixel art day 24
working on a second watcher in goofy cosplay since the last one was fun to draw (this time it's melinoe from hades II), unfortunately couldn't get much progress done since i fell asleep several times today. making sure to take melatonin so i sleep tonight because insomnia has been kicking my ass, but i'm hoping i can have this posted (i probably need to tweak the legs and i still need to add the funny rodent's tail) in a finished state tomorrow. probably won't do much more watcher content since i don't really have any other inspiration but i'll probably go back to posting more boring tilesets lol. anyways going to sleep now even though it's still pretty early for that so i can function tomorrow.

was super busy today but heres an old(ish) doodle of some wacky face designs i did while i was on my break. i'm debating on wether or not i want to commit to doing watcher as other shadow themed characters since it's fun to do. i also saw the minecraft movie and it sure was a movie.
sorry today's so boring, my adhd meds have been missing for a while so i got no sleep last night and am running on 0 hours of sleep

Daily Pixel art blog day 21 (back from my break)
honestly it was good to take a break (got to play the rain world watcher dlc, i really love rain world). but i'm back! starting off small so that i don't feel too overwhelmed but i'm probably going to try to do something watcher themed since it was my favorite campaign. anyways working on a redesign for this old self portrait! (updated one is on the left, old one is on the right) think it needs some tweaking but it has a lot more potential, my issue was with the hat mostly.

daily pixel art blog day 20 (minus 2?)
i think i'm going to take a small hiatus from this daily art blog, cleaning and preparing for the move has been hell lately and my insomnia is kicking my ass, i'm still going to work on things but i'm not going to do daily posts for a few days to avoid burnout. on a side note i had a brief period of time to do some experimental tiles
alternatively with a shine (shine is very placeholder)
i've also done a little work on simplifying the interior tileset so that i can hopefully have it be usable later
sorry for not posting yesterday, i've had very little freetime. hoping that taking a break from the pressure of daily posting will help.

i finally got my tablet working! i've been letting it rot for years and finally had the motivation to get it up and running. it was a massive pain to work with setting up though.
i'm going to need to do a lot of basic practices with the tablet since i've been used to mouse for years but i'm hoping it's helpful for me as an artist

sorry this is so late, i was extremely swamped with house cleaning since i'll be moving houses soon and need to make the house seem as valuable as possible so that it sells well. didn't have much free time today but i've been given the go-ahead to have creative freedom with what i come up with to make tilesets for so that's really exciting! i also finally am installing gamemaker so that i can hopefully learn how to code enough to work on coding. anyways just to make sure i've actually posted something here's the start of me re-working an old sprite by trying to salvage the hat
i really like this self doodle but the hat has been killing me, thinking of removing literally all of the color to it and starting from scratch. sorry for yet another nothingburger from today, i'll hopefully have a lot more freetime tomorrow though!

daily pixel art blog day 15
got a lot of things done! i've already posted today's rw art month prompt, but besides that:
practiced style matching by choosing three wildly different game's sprites to try to get "beebo" from the game i'm helping make to match. i chose the binding of isaac (the game isn't my taste but it has a very defined art style), earthbound, and stardew valley. it was a good practice since i feel like i have a personal style and need to not get stuck only drawing one way. the bottom left sprite of beebo is a modified version of a new sprite (more on that further down) on top of that:
re-vamping the interior sprites i made, think i went a little too detail heavy on wall sprites with this one (which is painful to admit honestly) so i'm going to need to un-detail it. speaking of detail levels:
donnie made a smaller sized beebo to better fit his vision for the characters, but since i've been making tiles with a 32x64 tall beebo in mind i'm going to need to go back and review all the tiles to make sure they still work with a smaller character. the battle system is coming along great though!

besides getting the daily rain world prompt done today, i've been absolutely struggling with making floorboards that aren't eye-straining to look at
they all look good on their own but they get repetitive really fast when i tile them, it's been driving me a little crazy but it's something i need to do since i can't put it off anymore lol. today was pretty productive.

Rain world art month day 14 - the nomad
gourmand on a long trek to finish sidequests
feel like i did decent, could have done the body a lot better and things could have used more details but i think i'm happy overall with how it turned out :). his tail is based on the nomad achievement where the slugcat's tail is made of different regions.

Daily pixel art blog day 13(ish)
sorry i missed yesterday's post, i'm finally not (very) sick so i'm going to make sure i'm posting more! i'm working on interior tilesets now after procrastinating them for too long, and the main thing i need to work on is making sure there's enough detail but not too much, the current ground tiles i have are really... intense in large amounts.
i'm also working on a project for day 14 of rain world art month! hoping i make sure to have time for it
to make up for yesterday's lack of a post (i don't remember but i might have already shared this piece) here's a ghost duck i made for a project last month. i really need to do more with him. i'm also really happy with how the beak turned out, it was an accident to get the side glint but now i need to actually study how to do plastic-y shading like that so i can do it intentionally, the eyes i think i could have spaced out better but other than some lineart choices i could have done better i'm satisfied with how it turned out. never game him a name though.
mostly i'm happy to be back into the rhythm of doing art again, being sick was awful. look forward to more actual art soon!
