finally finished planning for arcs 1 and 2 of starfueled!

i will warn yall, arc 1 is extremely backstory and ship development-heavy, but arc 2 is gonna be crazy cool (plus i get to introduce my own original villain who i kinda already teased before muhaha)

i’m finally getting over a little writing jump so chapter 6 should be out sometime soon!

False losing her mind when she hears that Ren and Cleo were exiled. (TW feelings of failure)

The two people she'd give her life for in a heartbeat are gone forever. She had just seen them... now they're gone...

Plus, her younger brother's behind it. At least, it SEEMS like her younger brother's behind it. Something in his eyes, his voice, his presence, doesn't seem like him.

She was supposed to protect him.

She was supposed to protect him the day he was first killed, and she failed.

She was supposed to protect him when he escaped the Watchers and came back to life, and she failed.

She was supposed to protect her beloved Cleo, and Ren, and Jevin, and she failed.

She had failed.

Maybe exile was right for her.

She breaks her bed in a fit of pained rage. She knows that once she's outside of Hermiton walls, she won't be able to come back. She doesn't want to come back. Maybe out there she would find Cleo, Ren, and Jevin. Maybe they wouldn't hate her for failing them.

But if they did, she deserved it. She had lived on her own before she joined the hermits; she could do it again.

She's well outside the territory now, her wings aching with every beat, and tears streaming down her face. In one night, she lost everything. A fitting punishment for someone who couldn't protect what she had.

And then she hears a voice call her name. A voice that makes her heart trip over itself. A voice she knows all too well. It calls her name with a longing, a desperation that could only stem from love. She pauses in midair, her eyes widening in disbelief.

Cleo...

Imagine in permit exile they straight up run into tommyinnit speedrunning child abuse and so they murder teletubby and he gets adopted by a bunch of disgruntled hermits. They keep muttering a lot about all their lost builds and supplies and one shoe no iron Tommy is just sitting there like ??? The hermits immediately turn Logchestire into a mega build and Tommy helps them plan a war on the permit office.

Imagine the scar’s department of wellness videos actually help Tommy-

"Please, I need to get away from those- those husks out there! They're brutal!" panted Keralis.

"Are they following you?" the pink-armored man questioned with a scowl.

"No, not right now, but they- there's so many!" panted Keralis. "I swear, a poor man can't get any- oh no..." It was then that he saw the state of the other man. There was a purple substance, presumably blood, splattered all over him, and Keralis could somewhat make out the shape of deep gashes under it. He suppressed a dry-heave. "What happened?"

The first man sighed. "It's too long to explain." Keralis noticed his broken visor; these two looked like they knew about the husk situation already.

"Well, uh, I have something that you might want," Keralis said, a gleam in his eye.

some wips and stuff i've been making

#1 is a wip of the latest scene I've been writing between Biffa and Keralis. I will say, both of them were SO fun to design but Keralis's shawl was an absolute pain.

#2 is a practice on bucentaurs w/ Duke Antyrus Agelad! He's gonna be a huge villain later on in the fic; his whole deal is he just wants to be king of all the colonies in the highlands. Typical despot behavior. We hate him here.

#3 is a character design practice w/ Doc and Bdubs! I wanted to finally get my bdubs design down bc I adore what i came up with. He's a glare hybrid so he naturally grows moss everywhere.

How Elytra Work

In Starfueled, elytra are given via a Blessing of the Elytran. These are small charms in the shape of wings that give the bearer the power of flight. In some areas, they are extremely rare, while in others, humanoids are seldom seen without a blessing. They are more common in areas with less urbanization or redstone, as without proper rails, the only effective form of long-distance travel is with wings. They can be created by any well-studied wizard, and many folks become wizards solely to craft elytra.

Once a person attunes to a blessing, they gain the ability to sprout a pair of wings from their back as long as the charm is on their person. The appearance of the wings depends on the magic used. Blessings made using controlled magic will tend to have either a fixed appearance or one that corresponds to the bearer's species, while blessings made using wilder magic sources will tend to either be synonymous with the personality of the bearer, or have a completely random appearance. To deploy elytra, one simply must think of deploying it.

In the region where the Hermit Colony makes its first home, elytra are not extremely common, but they aren't unbelievably rare. In other areas though, it is highly unwise to even deploy your elytra, lest someone sees you and decides to rob you for the gift of flight.

Background Info

Alright so Starfueled is an AU I've been working on whenever I get into the hermitcraft fandom. It pretty much connects every single minecraft youtuber into one huge world, though the main focus is on the Hermit Colonies.

Colonies are groups of miscellaneous adventurers that explore the world, fix problems for others, or do things that most people don't have the cajones for. Some colonies reach immense fame, such as the Hermit Colony, where as some, like the Dreamer Cult, are plunged into infamy.

There are many different types of humanoids. You have your normal humanoids, but there are also hybrids, who descend from elevated beasts. Elevated beasts were once normal animals who were transformed by some magical means into humanoid beings. The hybrids that descend from them are either Hybrid-Dominant (meaning they look more like their respective animal), or Hybrid-Recessive (more humanlike, but with some inhuman features and traits). There's also chimeras, who have the genes of multiple animals, including humans. Of course, we can't forget the Wardens; large, powerful humanoid beings in every biome who have immense arcane power.

More about the details of this AU will be posted whenever I have the time, but I'm excited to start sharing this w/ you guys!
