In a major policy shift, the U.S. Department of Agriculture has ended its race- and gender-based assistance programs—effectively cutting off targeted aid to Black, Hispanic, Native American, and Asian farmers. This includes dismantling the 2501 Program, a lifeline for historically underserved agricultural producers.
The move aligns with Trump-era executive orders that mandated the removal of all DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives across federal agencies.
Black farmers, who already represent less than 2% of the nation’s producers, are warning of devastating consequences. Over $148 million in grant funding—previously allocated to promote access to land, credit, and markets—has already been slashed.
Rep. Shontel Brown (D-OH) slammed the decision as a “resegregation agenda,” while USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins defended it as a return to “meritocracy.”
Food justice advocates say this decision could worsen food deserts and harm community agriculture efforts nationwide.

House Republicans on the Rules Committee voted 5–7 to block an amendment from Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) that would’ve forced a public release of all Epstein-related files.
🧾 What Khanna’s Amendment Wanted:
Attorney General Pam Bondi to release all Epstein investigation records
Files posted online for public access within 30 days
🚫 Why Republicans Blocked It:
All GOP members except Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) voted no
They cited privacy, political motives, and a DOJ memo claiming no client list or blackmail materials exist
💥 Backlash:
Khanna says GOP is protecting the powerful
Trump supporters are split — some want the truth, others back Bondi, who says files contain child pornography and can’t be released
Trump brushed it off: “Epstein is somebody that nobody cares about. LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB.”

The High Cost of Charity: Goodwill’s Pricing Strategy Is Testing Consumer Trust
In the heart of American consumer life, Goodwill once stood as a rare constant—where the burdened could find relief, the frugal could hunt treasure, and the charitable could give with confidence. But that legacy is now in peril due to the Goodwill pricing controversy. The prices on the shelves tell a very different story from the nonprofit image still etched into the public consciousness. Opinion | The AIPAC Reckoning: Can the Democratic Party Break Free from a Dangerous Alliance?
There is a growing crisis of conscience within the Democratic Party—and it doesn’t come from the Republican opposition or MAGA-style politics. It’s coming from within. And at the center of this reckoning lies a three-letter word with outsized influence: AIPAC. The American Israel Public Affairs Committee, once seen as a bipartisan bridge for pro-Israel support, now increasingly serves as a…
