The atmosphere was tense in that small restaurant where Theo was meeting his ex-boyfriend, who had also been his childhood friend. All of that had been thrown out the window when he not only cheated, but joined in on his acting friends’ and his agent’s bullying. When Ian left suddenly without so much of a word, it shattered him, and created a shift inside- the once grumpy, awkward nerd became an overconfident, flirty cutie that seemed to attract everyone around him.

After numerous phone calls, the light blonde young man finally decided to meet to head out what an asshole he had been, though he knew no words could undo the pain that was caused.

Seeing him sit down nervously brought a grin to his face. “Well if it isn’t Ian Duff, the famous actor! Do I look a bit different? Thought I’d change up my style after getting all of the critiques” he smirked with malice. His expression didn’t falter, despite how torn up inside he was. It was locked deep, deep down.

“Talk. I have a date with a handsome gent in an hour, one who doesn’t call me disgusting” he yawned.

After being called ugly by him, his acting friends and his manager, as well as getting cheated on, Theo completely revamps his shy, dorky personality to an overconfident heartthrob. But is the real him still in there deep down? Credit to Sangled on Picrew, I love this OC creator too much! 😭

With the announcement of the next avatar series coming into fruition, I decided to share my concept! Obviously this will be debunked once the actual appears, so take it with a grain of salt. This is a fanfic account, after all!

So for my concept, I decided to go for a 90s aesthetic vibe, with my earth bending avatar Mingsheng! Quick notes about him/the world:

-His name is Mingheng. He plays in a grunge band with an air bender (Bolin/Opal’s grandson, who may or may not be madly in love with Mingheng), a water bender, and a fire bender

-Like Princess Yue, his mother was saved by a spirit, resulting in her having white hair and gray white eyes. His father is an earth bender.

-Though he seems cute and is labeled a “pretty boy”, he’s determined, driven and headstrong, living up to an earth bender’s nature

-Because traditions had died down somewhat with modern advancements, he didn’t find out he was the avatar until he was 18 (he would be 22 in this scenario)

September 24th, 1994

It had been a crisp, autumn day in the city, with an overcast sky hanging over the bustling area, a stark contrast to the array of oranges and reds that began falling down from tree tops. People walked to and from their destinations, as if the living souls around them were irrelevant to the world they resided in. Nothing more than meer blimps in their radar that crescendoed out with every passing foot step.

And amongst these lonely wanderers was a young man by the name of Cole McBride, who had just finished another mundane shift at the library. What he had anticipated to be an escape for the realities of the modern world, had simply added to his bleak outlook on society, unable to find any play within his duties.

After he finished stacking the remaining books into their homes, the blonde punched out, strolling aimlessly on the sidewalk that would lead him to his feeble one bedroom apartment. However, something… stopped him, big light green eyes scanning a quiet antique shop. Though he couldn’t put his finger on it… something was drawing him- no, pulling him inside.

Shifting through the ancient trinkets and discarded kitchen supplies, his subconscious, for no apparent reason, decided to head to a hidden section in the back, where he saw an old VHS tape with 1984 Incident in red letters. Something seemed… off about this item, but he deduced it to be some low budget horror film. Bringing it up to the counter, the cashier only wanted a measly ten cents for it. And with that, the porcelain skinned young adult ventured home, arriving at his quaint apartment, covered in the floral patterns it came with when he had first moved in.

Setting his belongings down, with a strange tingling sensation spreading about, he placed the tape into his player, turning on his television set.

“Every breathe you take

And every move you make”

The room went hazy, and his extremities shivered with torment, unable to articulate what was even playing before him, flashes of distorted color strobing outwards.

“Every bond you break,

Every step you take,

I’ll be watching you”

He fell, but it didn’t hurt. He felt nothing. Only darkness. But that would quickly fade in the coming days.

“Oh can’t you see… you belong to me?”
