what are your tips for drawing in the homestuck style?

Important things to remember are that they only have vague joints, nothing too sharp, so don’t try giving them obvious strong proportions. Of course, different characters can have different body types, but remember to keep simple lines and keep everything generally round or ((spiky)) on details like hair or outfit on occasion, but when it comes to the actual body. Keep it rounded.

When it comes to actually designing, remember to keep it pretty simple! And if you want something more complex, I recommend going down the rabbit hole of characters who are complex, but who are still in the “”Hussie style””

(Eridan, Lord English, Feferi, other hs ocs, ect)

When it comes to colors, I recommend looking at panels because I found that HS actually has pretty recognizable colors and if you learn them well enough, it really adds a similar feeling to your own art if you’re trying to replicate it !!

And this is pretty small, but it’s good to remember that very simple or not, prominent necks are not a thing unless you’re going for like, the really detailed type of style like in some of the panels in hs2. When it comes to the more round style, if there is a neck that’s even shown, it’s usually pretty stumpy and not prominently displayed
