My wife’s untapped skill.

Joking around today, I said the following:

“You have the skill to write something sexual about any type of series, or topic. You could no doubt take ... Pac-man for example, and write a sexual fic about that!” @erickadracula

       a sigh was let out, and then he straightened up. ❝no, i haven’t yet. sorry, man. i’ll… need a little more time to think about it. you know how busy i am.❞ telling him no again would not be a good idea – Johnny would get upset. and then more importantly, Mavis would get upset too.        there had been a Cakie the Cake Monster theme park a while back nearby, but that… hadn’t turned out so well at the end. the owner had been an ass, Dracula would have agreed. it hadn’t been fun. besides, this was a one-hundred and twenty year old hotel. not a theme park! such a thing was completely out of the question, even if it wouldn’t be in the hotel itself but outside.        ❝have you mentioned it to Mavis?❞ surely she’d say no too, wouldn’t she? she knew how things worked like in the hotel.

“Uhmm, I haven’t told her yet, but I think she’d say yes”. Talking to her about this was now the first thing on Johnny’s to do list for the week.

Johnny then continued describing Drac the rides that would be on the theme park “It’s so awesome! I’m thinking we should have a huge roller coaster with a cool vampire theme!!. You know the drill.” His head was exploding with ideas, and he continued talking to Drac…

“We could also have an Egyptian themed, Murray based Ferris Wheel and Zombie Karts, and a Wayne approved werewolf themed carrousel.”

Johnny was on fire!! He continued: “And The Invisible Man House of Illusions, approved by Griffin of course. Oh, and a Frankenstein themed drop tower. What about a haunted house, but instead of ghosts, haunted by humans?”

There would be more time to think about other rides, once Drac approved his awesome idea, but he had one final ride to describe to Drac that surely would convince him to build the park.

“And to top it off, imagine this” He then proceeded to hug Drac by the shoulder with one arm while using his other arm to wave around the air as if showing Drac something he was currently imagining. “A slow romantic river boat ride featuring your one and only Captain Ericka” This was it!  Drac had to say yes now.

Ericka le dio gracia, por alguna razón Johnny la veía como si ella fuese a clavarle una estaca o un hacha.

Lo que el pelirrojo decía era cierto, nadie de ahí apreciaba la comida humana, ocasionalmente Drac, Mavis y Dennis la comían pero estaba entre sus cosas menos favoritas del mundo y ella para adaptarse había desistido de comerla, aparte de que sus habilidades de cocina eran pésimas, al menos en comida humana.

“Puede ser una buena idea, un corte de carne no me vendría mal y yo podría sacar una botella de vino que tengo guardada desde hace tiempo, Drac no puede tomar  y no tiene mucho chiste hacerlo yo sola, así que por hoy no nos vendría mal hacer algo diferente a lo que estamos acostumbrados”

Mirando fijamente la parrilla, se percató que había apilado un montón de libros en lugar de carbón, en uno se leía algebra dos  y en otro ciencias sociales “Disculpa, ¿Johnny por qué tienes libros en la parrilla?” frunciendo el ceño y tomando uno de los libros maltratados.

Ericka se había dado cuenta de la dificultad que le presentaba a Johnny prender la parrilla. Efectivamente necesitaba algo flamable para poder iniciar el fuego.

Tenía 2 razones de haber escogido sus libros viejos de secundaria para iniciar el fuego:

1.- Ya no los necesitaba

2.- A pesar de que había miles de libros dentro del castillo, no podía robarse algunos de la biblioteca principal para este propósito. Todo estaba vigilado constantemente. Es mas, no podía ni robarse los folletos que estaban en la entrada del hotel. Así de fijado, observador y “control-freak” era su querido suegro Drac.

“Ehhh, pues necesito algo para prender el fuego ¿sabes?, el carbón y la leña son dificiles de obtener por aquí” Johnny mintió para poder salirse rápido de la pregunta de Ericka.

Mirando hacia el montón de libros que estaban en la parrilla, Johnny se disponía ya a empezar a cocinar.

“Entonces, gustas un T-bone, una chuleta de … ¡¡¡AY DIOS!!!”

Un libro en particular estaba ya siendo consumido lentamente por el fuego. ¡Era su diario!. Ahí tenía las memorias de TODOS sus viajes.

“Ahhhhhhh, Ericka ¡RÁPIDO!, TRAE AGUA PARA QUE APAGUE ESTO!!

Johnny había entrado en pánico….

       ❝shouldn’t that be around Mavis’ birthday instead?❞ it would’ve made more sense that way; it’d been the week monsters had come out of the shadows and properly revealed themselves to human beings. though then again, he didn’t want to divert all the attention from his little daughter’s most important day, either. that would be awful.        ❝either way,❞ he began, putting his bothersome phone away, ❝a party is not something i’d like to have on Halloween. you can always keep being a DJ at weddings here?❞ a toothy smile was politely offered; hopefully this new suggestion of his would work. if there was something Dracula was, it was stubborn. ❝or bat-mitzvahs.❞ he wouldn’t give up so easily on his ideals.        Halloween was a feared night that should respect all those monsters who’d fallen victim in the past, not a celebrated event of some sort.        ❝we are not doing this, dude; case closed. try finding something else to do for Halloween night.❞ what about bingo, or something just as relaxing or soothing? something that didn’t involve chaos during the ( formerly ) Most Dangerous Night of the Year.

Well, that was a disappointment for sure. Even though Drac was right stating that the party he was suggesting could be done any other day of the year, it would really defeat its purpose. It really wouldn’t feel the same.

And “Monster Thanksgiving” around Mavis’ birthday?, that doesn’t make any sense! Monsters were already common place and adored even before he stumbled upon the mighty castle.

“Awww man, that sucks!” he knew he would not be able to convince his father in law at this point.

Not wanting an awkward situation Johnny pointed the following out after several seconds of silence: “So… have you already thought about the OTHER idea I told you the last month, you know… about the Monster Theme Park around the castle?“

My wife and I have binge watched lots of animes in recent times and now it’s Yu-Gi-Oh’s turn. Currently in season 4. This is the first time I’m watching it since I really wasn’t an anime guy before I dated her.

It’s quite fun but full of plot holes and inconsistencies. My wife’s favorite character is Seto Kaiba, who I personally find one directional and with the typical bad boy but internally good person personality cliché.

Anyways, here is a small sample of inconsistencies I have found during the series:

-People getting physically hurt by playing a card game with holograms.

-Main characters bending rules just so they could win because of plot reasons.

-Mokuba leaving the shadow realm so he could control the satelite to capture an Image of the Ra card, as requested by Seto, even after it was seen that nobody could leave or enter the shadow realm during the Yugi vs Pegassus duel in season 1.

-Seto “builds” a theme park in the sandlot of the orphanage they were during a flashback and tells Mokuba that it’s the design of Kaibaland.... before they were Kaibas in the first place!!!

They are way more inconsistencies that I may discuss at a later time.

Final Fantasy es y seguirá siendo mi franquicia de videojuegos favoritas. Por muchas razones me encanta: por sus tramas, su jugabilidad, su música y por los personajes que aparecen.

Recuerdo bien que el primer Final Fantasy (El que salió para la NES) lo jugué en 1989 si mal no recuerdo. Sin embargo el verdadero gusto lo adquirí cuando jugué Final Fantasy II para Super Nintendo (Final Fantasy IV en Japón). 

Desde ese momento quedé enganchado con la serie. Es difícil enlistar cuales de las 15 entregas (hasta ahora, sin contar secuelas ni spinoffs) son mis favoritas, por lo que hacer un Top 5, o inclusive un Top 10, es muy complicado para mí.

Aquel momento en que te das cuenta que el personaje de tu esposa de Pokemon Go está SUPER hot!! (Aumentado su hotness aún más por la flamita de Charmander jajjaja)

¿Como es tu relaciòn con Ericka? ¿Que tal se llevan Dennis y ella?

¡Ericka es muy cool! A pesar de ser una figura imponente y de autoridad consagrada al ser capitana de un barco, no es nada seria y es super buena onda.

No se deja asustar facilmente y aprendió muy rápido las reglas de como convivir con los monstruos. Creo que me cae mejor que Drac (Nada mas no le digas esto a mi suegrito  jejejeje)

Creo que necesitamos convivir un poco mas. A final de cuentas nosotros 2 somos los únicos humanos que vivimos en el Hotel.

Ella adora a Dennis, dice que es lo mejor de los 2 mundos. Después de convivir sola con un anciano toda su vida, el estar con Dennis le es muuuy refrescante.

No podía dormir, de vez en cuando sufría de insomnio y se dedicaba a recorrer el castillo. ¿Qué más podía hacer?

Ericka caminaba inspeccionado las áreas del jardín, había visto que Johnny actuaba muy sospechoso en lugar de estar dormido y se vió tentada a seguirlo. ¿Qué más podía hacer a altas horas del día?

Acercándosele sigilosamente se detuvo en seco al escuchar al pelirrojo decir eso, se le hizo una falta de consideración, que demonios creía que era y viéndolo con cierta desaprobación cruzo sus brazos.

“¿Interrumpo?” veía que se disponía hacer una fiesta, tal vez Johnny se estaba volviendo más excéntrico de lo normal y había invitado a sus amigos imaginarios a lo que parecía una parrillada.

Aquel muchacho era de sus pocos puntos de conexión con el mundo humano,  era cierto que de vez en cuando venían turistas humanos al hotel pero no podía ponerse a socializar en horas de trabajo.

Ya se había acostumbrado de ver lo anormal como normal, después del crucero ella se había mudado ahí y había adoptado rápidamente cualquiera de las costumbres que le hubiese faltado aprender.

Johnny se quedó frío al escucharla. Se había olvidado temporalmente que Ericka vivía también en el castillo, siendo ella la segunda humana que vivía allí y que también podía salir de día sin problema alguno.

Johnny volteó muuuuuy lentamente, su expresión facial de sorpresa, con la boca ligeramente abierta y su piel pálida como la de Drac.

Sabía que Ericka podía ser un poco violenta debido a su pasado como cazadora de monstruos, por lo que no quería arriesgar decir algo inapropiado o estúpido.

“He, he… he…. hey” habló Johnny tartamudeando. No le salían las palabras. No había algo que pudiera hacer o decir para hacer que ella se olvidara de lo que dijo.

“Perdón…. es la costumbre ¿sabes?” Contestó a su pregunta mirando hacia abajo, con toda la intención de evitar la mirada a pesar de que no podía ser hipnotizado. Ericka podía dar mucho miedo, mas aún que su querido suegro.

Aún con su mirada abajo, Johnny continuó: “Puessss, tenía tantas ganas de unas hamburguesitas y un rib-eye, que decidí cocinarme yo solo, obvio, en un momento en que los demás no nos pudieran ver. Ya sabes que se les hace asqueroso lo que comemos los humanos”

Johnny jamás entenderá porqué unas jugosas hamburguesas y un delicioso corte de carne se le podría hacer asqueroso a alguien… a menos que ese alguien fuera vegano.

“¿Gustas?, como sabes no hay nadie aquí ademas de nosotros que quiera comer esto.” Escogió cuidadosamente estas palabras para no ofender mas a su ….. ¿suegra?

       in a second, Dracula rose seemingly from the ground, to stand right next to the short human; with his phone held up in his hand, he observed how Johnny continued to write down what he wanted to say, rather than outright talking to him instead. a buzz; his own phone alerted him of his new messages. he briskly read them over and then raised an eyebrow down at him.        ❝really, man?❞ his son in law was just being lazy now, wasn’t he?        a sigh. oh, the things he had to deal with sometimes. ❝we never celebrate Halloween here. why should we start doing it now?❞ it just wasn’t a good idea. although he’d done a lot already to modernize the hotel, perhaps a party was just a little too much already. what would Mavis even say about it? she’d sure had a bad experience a few years back with that huge pumpkin creature that had tried to kill them both.        ❝it’s not a good idea,❞ he voiced. if he could come up with something better, then maybe he’d consider it. but Dracula highly doubted the other man would.

Johnny was so busy with his playlist, that he didn’t notice that someone was standing right next to him.

It took him a couple of seconds to realize that that person was, in fact, his father in law. He slowly raised his head to look at him, and noticed that Drac was looking at him with a slightly confused look.

“Hey dude, didn’t see ya standing right here” , he said cheerfully, even though on the inside, Johnny was a little disappointed that he wouldn’t be able to continue working on his playlist. His concentration was lost already, and he needed to continue his conversation with Dracula.

“Yeeeeahh, I know it might not be a good idea for monsters to celebrate Halloween, but…..”, Johnny had to choose his next words carefully, otherwise his awesome idea would go down the drain.

“But, try to not think about it as Halloween. Maybeeee, think of it as the first Monster Thanksgiving?”. That was it!! Johnny nailed it. Another name for the celebration. That will definitely make Drac change his mind about his idea.

“We DO need a celebration to commemorate Human/Monster relation, remember that humans no longer kill monsters on Halloween, they worship you now!” And in fact they do just that in Halloween, according to Johnny.

“And I need to practice my DJ skills, so a party is a must that day”

¿Te cae bien tu suegro?

¡Siiii, por supuesto!!! Excepto cuando se pone en modo “hyper sobreprotector” con Mavis, o cuando intenta hipnotizarme, o cuando le sale el modo gruñón estilo demonio que hasta las luces se ponen rojizas alrededor, o cuando intenta cubrirme el cuerpo con aves de rapiña, o cuando se le olvida que no soy vampiro y no puedo volar. De ahí en fuera todo perfecto.
