It’s been such a lovely start to the fall semester! not pictured here, however, is the nearly CONSTANT rain we’ve been getting! its insane! regardless, all my classes are going super well and i even went exploring to a lovely antique shop with my partner over the weekend. This was my first time seeing uranium glass in real life! it was beautiful!

Finished up four books in the last couple weeks and actively reading three others.

Some reviews if you’ll permit me:

Yellowface: 3/5 ⭐️ not my favorite book, definitely found the main character insufferable and I wanted her to fail from the beginning. But overall not a bad read.

Ten Bridges I’ve Burnt: 4/5 ⭐️ a really interesting poem collection. Deals with life in the south growing up as a gay black man and how that carried forward into adulthood far away from there. Definitely sparked some inspiration for my own poetry.

Sunbringer: 5/5 ⭐️ such an amazing read!!!! The sequel to godkiller, I am in love with this series. Cannot wait for the final book next year! I missed the interactions between the characters cause they were separated through most of the book but wow! So amazing and what an ending!!

Harrow the Ninth: 5/5 ⭐️ definitely the hardest read of the list because I kept getting mad that I was being gaslit the whole time but ultimately a really well done book. I hope the next book in the series will shed more light on what still doesn’t make sense.

My fall semester officially started Monday 🍂

I’m so excited to dig in to all my classes, and I especially love my philosophy professor; he has a sense of humor that makes the class feel so alive and engaging!

Through my breaks I’ve been reading my all time favorite book ‘Gideon the Ninth’ as a little comfort from the bustle 🤍 I love all the natural sunlight where I sit!

I’ve also been getting back into studying Japanese lately, which I did a few years back but never fully committed to it! I’m still keeping up with my gym schedule too! so all is well :]

Wednesday 1rst of September, 2021: i have an exam either on the 16th or 17th to test my "general knowledge". considering my school is mostly known for its journalism, i decided to catch up on the news. (that and, you know, the fact that knowing all this is important in its own right.) consensus: the world is not doing too great.

29th August - When you remember this summer, what three adjectives will define it? long, gray, restless.

30th August - What did you learn over the summer? how to clean, some norwegian, my roommate's name, how to navigate some streets in brussels.

31st August - What was your favourite memory from this summer? going to my dorm with my friends! we were supposed to clean but mostly we lounged around and expressed our deeper selves by being disasters.

[3.06 pm] I have not yet started my day.I watched a movie in the morning (Mona Lisa Smile) I am in love with Julia Roberts Help Me!!!.I am feeling so good about myself and my situation right now.I love these days.

[9.57 pm] I finished two chapters of Differential equations and revised previous week's stuff.I put a face mask on, lit a candle and just chilled in the evening after the work.I am thinking of switching my moisturising cream so hunting for a new one.I'm thinking of ordering some more candles as well because they are helping me in reducing my study anxiety lol.

Friends, I did it!

I just successfully defended my bachelor's thesis and am now officially a bachelor of science in physics. Oh my god.

It took me 4 years (instead of the usual 3) and a whole lot of tears to be honest but I made it after all ^^

Hey friends , I know I haven’t posted in a while but college starts soon so I hope to be able to post more often as I’m preparing for it and when classes start. Our class schedules came out on Tuesday and I’m super happy with the classes I got (1st semester freshman don’t pick schedules at my school). I’ve been working on redoing my notion for the fall semester and I currently love it (I can share more pictures if anyone would like a more in depth look).

Hello, all 💌!

I am not going to reveal my name here (as it is not a very common name), but you may call me Fairy, which is the English translation of my nickname (which could also be translated to angel, but Fairy is what I use as my alias).

Anyway, I have been lurking in the studyblr community for a while now, and though at first I was pretty intimidated by the aesthetic-ness of it all, everyone here seems to be very high-achieving and supportive of others. So I have been thinking of starting a studyblr of my own for quite a while now, and well... Here I am!

I am a high school student (not revealing my grade/age because I am a minor) in the U.S., and I am interested in:

Language Learning! I am currently relearning Japanese and beginning a bit of Chinese. I am also planning to start French some time in the near future!

Artificial Intelligence! I am currently taking a course on deep learning systems, which is fascinating. I am also a co-leader of an AI-related student-run nonprofit organization, which has been a great experience!

Reading! I have always loved a good book, as many do! Unfortunately, for some reason, I have been falling out of the habit as I have grown older, and I oftentimes cannot quite summon the energy to start a book. I really want to get back into the whimsy of reading again, so that is one of my goals this summer!

Psychology/Neuroscience! My journey into AI actually started because of my interest in psych and neuro (as opposed to CS)! You know, the whole comparing the workings of AI and ML to the human mind? Apparently that is how quite a few people I have met got into AI as well, so it is always interesting to talk about!

Linguistics! It really is just a fascinating field! I was one of those children who loved grammar in elementary and middle school (which my school went into extensively), so I suppose it is no surprise that I love linguistics as well. I guess I really grasped the amazingness of this field when I was talking to someone and this fact came up: Pre-Civil War (American), people would usually refer to the U.S. as "The United States are", but after the war it was "The United States is". It was a small change, but it basically captured the outcome of that whole war!

Astronomy! This one is probably thanks to my dad; he was always and still is very into astronomy! Well, it actually started because a lot of the pureblooded witches/wizards in Harry Potter were named after stars/constellations/galaxies/etc... (I was eight years old, okay?) But with my dad's infectious enthusiasm, maps of the sky occupying the walls of our bonus room, and a lifechanging-ly beautiful sight of the night sky from atop a mountain; it was only a matter of time, really!

Literally anything! I am a student, at the end of the day; of course I will be interested in anything! After all, why would I ever shut myself off from knowledge?
