I've really been missing around here... unfortunately we all have our days.
I have to admit that tiredness and being too lazy to write here are almost tied for these days' categories.
so until I got a good time today. when I opened Forest I was amazed at the 113 minutes because it didn't seem like I studied in super focus all that time. I studied a little bit in the morning before going to work and a little bit at night after I got home from work.
I really enjoyed my progress. and I like to know that in all this time away, I promised myself that I would post here as soon as possible 🤍
tools like Forest and Studyblr have helped me with focus, discipline and organization. I'm happy to have the opportunity to use these tools and keep the pace.
🪽 ›› thank you for accompanying me here. take care, good studies and see you next time

tuesday, august 15th — 2/7 🎯
today I managed to keep a bigger focus, I'm very proud of myself. I didn't force myself to wake up early to start studying, since it's a public holiday where I live. so I did what I had to do quite calmly and got to my studies in the early afternoon.
we'll see what can be done:
✓ take the notes from the last class (because I got sick) and study;
✓ read lesson plans and download recommended books;
✓ read the digital handout and take notes;

like magic! I managed to hit 122 minutes of focus according to the forest app 🤍
this time I respected the 5 ~ 10 minute breaks between the 25 minute cycles, with the exception of the last cycle of course, which was 20 minutes.
today i tried a new hairstyle too, i was inspired by one of the barbie movies. it's really nice to be able to study with my hair down but not having the two front strands falling into my field of vision. maybe this hairstyle is even good to wear during internship 🩷
see you soon! take care ✨

monday, august 14th — ⅐ 🎯
today I started my studies again after many comings and goings of my productivity .
my college classes started last week on the 10th and i set aside today to reread the notes and make some new ones about the next class.
today I didn't wake up very excited. but I still made an effort to wake up, take a shower and take good care of all my skin, wash my hair and eat well. I didn't have the strength to study during the day. the falling rain made me very lazy.
so... I watched a Barbie movie (yes, I love Barbie movies) and after a long nap I was able to focus on my studies and organize myself for the next day 🤍🩷🩵

I took a lazy day, watched a comfortable movie, and got 75 minutes of focus. that's not bad eh?

Morning Routines

We're all looking at those Instagram influencers who somehow manage to wake up at 5 am, do meditation, journal, do a 15-step Korean skincare routine, and go to the gym. And then they make a green smoothie and avocado toast, get dressed in a Chanel outfit and then sit at their fancy desk with a vanilla latte and a croissant.
This is not realistic. You probably already know that, but it likely won't stop you from trying to change your routine bit by bit to look a little like theirs. That didn't stop me, at least.
But now I've come to realise that no matter how much I try, I'll never be able to have a routine like the ones I see online. Because it doesn't exist. It's all curated for aesthetic appeal and generates a sense of false productivity in the watcher's brain. We feel motivated looking at those videos and never get around to changing our own life because we're too busy living vicariously through our phones.
Here's some things you should add to your morning routine, not to be fancy, but to feel better. This is coming from someone who's tried the unrealistic routines, and I now incorporate all of these into my routine. You can skip or add things according to your schedule.
S-T-R-E-T-C-H: Do your body a favour and loosen up your muscles. Nothing better than having a good stretch that wakes your body up.
Drink water: Before you put anything in your system, drink water. Not coffee, not tea. Plain warm water. And I don't mean lemon water. Some people might not agree, but lemon water strips your teeth of the enamel. It also is acidic, so all that bullshit they talk about it being "alkaline and pH balancing" is nonsense. Warm water is the way to go.
Make your bed: A clean bed should be the first thing you do after you wake up. At the end of the day, you'll thank yourself because it will be clean, and fresh and you can fall into bed immediately.
Hygiene: Wash your face to get rid of crusty eyes and sleep. Do a basic skincare routine (cleanser, moisturizer) so you'll feel fresher. Brush your teeth and hair.
Move your body: It doesn't matter what you do, even if it's for 15 minutes. Go for a walk, do a Zumba workout, or squeeze in a HIIT session. You can find lots of tutorials on YouTube (Caroline Girvan, growingannanas, Chloe Ting). Either way, working out will help you feel more motivated and happier. It's the endorphins.
Clean yourself: Set aside some time for showering, slathering on lotion, and doing your (real) skincare and makeup routine. Pick an outfit that makes you feel good about yourself.
Eat something: ALWAYS make some food. Your body has been famished for hours on end, give it some fuel. Make a healthy breakfast, or prep one the night before. If you don't get very hungry in the mornings, have a banana, and pack a mid-morning snack beforehand so you don't reach for chips.
Do 3 things: Make a to-do list of everything you need to do today. Don't overwhelm yourself. Then, knock off 3 easy tasks from the list that you can do quickly. You'll be filled with a sense of motivation, and it'll be easier for you to complete your list. It can be chores, it could be some assigned reading. Just get it done.
Gratitude or prayer: You don't need to sit for 15 minutes to practice gratitude. You can think of things your thankful for on the way to school or work or practice deep breathing/say a small prayer on the subway or bus. You don't HAVE to do it, but it definitely makes you realise how much you have in life and appreciate it more.
Kindness: Start your day with kindness. Compliment your barista, smile at the old lady on the street, pet the stray cat. There's so much love in the world, and you have so much love inside you, and it's beautiful to be a part of it.
No longer will I be stuck in a rut. I cannot be confined to being a bitter, unhealthy person when I know there's a smiling, healthy, happy version of me in the future. Deep breaths. You'll get there babe.

tuesday morning, august 8
well... my sudden disappearance is due to many factors, among them: personal problems, social time and health problems (ahh yeah... I got sick again);
today I would have a class at the university but I woke up with my throat inflamed and with a lot of pain in my body. that took care of a pill of medicine and some tea.
I used to be very upset with myself for being sick (yes. I would blame myself for being sick). and would also force me to go to class (even sick. yes).
I had a very toxic type of behavior with myself. but that won't happen anymore! I will not charge myself for being sick. we need to take care of ourselves too!

I hadn't studied yesterday or Saturday due to the situations already mentioned, so I took advantage of today to:
1. organize my caderno inteligente (disk notebook) for face-to-face classes at college;
2. start studying personality psychology chapter two;
I see my mind sabotaging myself, saying that this was no big deal and that I should have done more things, however I have to go to my job (internship) today.
writing here is making me feel calmer and smoother with myself, but it's also making me inspired and eager to get home and complete the day's studies, doing more study cycles...
— by the way, studying on the tablet is great, until it runs out of battery because you forget to put it on charge 🥹; I will remember never to let the battery run down again.
🌷 ›› thank you for accompanying me here. don't be so hard on yourself and don't be so toxic about blaming yourself for being sick like I did.
take care! see you next time 🤍

friday, august 4th || 📔 (5/7)
today i didn't study as much as monday, i think my work is exhausting me a lot.
I managed to advance another chapter in the subject and I have my studies organized for next week (which is when classes return).
i had to start the day listening to a taylor song to get some pep 🩷
today I realized that I managed to keep 5 days in focus! my first goal will be 7 days — excluding Sunday.
I'm so excited to share forest week's focus minutes here 💚
🌷 ›› thank you for accompanying me here.
remember to be kind to yourself 🩷
see you tomorrow!

thursday, august 3
today i was so tired when i got home... i was just wishing for my bed!
in the morning I couldn't study because I had some personal problems last night and ended up not resting completely.
in the morning I chose to rest and organize my salary. I organized my money in such a way that I could put some of it into savings, pay the bills, buy clothes, and leave a little money to enjoy the month.
when it was time to go to work, I got organized very quickly and left the house in a hurry. and today, at work, it was very tiring!
I was pretty sure I wasn't going to study anything today, but then I got on Tumblr and got a little motivated. managed to keep a 25 minute cycle in focus 💚
I was left with only the reading part of the chapter, making some notes during the course of the workbook. I'll leave the summaries pending for tomorrow!
🌷 ›› I'm staying here! I have many hours of sleep to catch up on! and tomorrow I feel it will be more productive!
See you tomorrow 🤍 good studies for us 🩷

wednesday, august 2nd
today's record will be a little different. I'll start by writing about the care I took with myself early in the morning and then I'll talk about my studies.
waking up in the morning I came across a post here in the community that talked about the BREAKS WE MUST have in our routine.
this content is available at @princesswony 🩷 — thank you for those kind words.
so i got up! I washed my hair with this wonderful coconut shampoo and conditioner kit! 🥥
and to top it all off, I moisturized my hair with this divine passion fruit pot from Skala (a very well known brand here in Brazil) 🍋
my hair smelled sweet all day, and I confess it still does 🤍🥥🍋🥰
after that I made a point of having a hearty breakfast, trying not to rush with the time to study.
so... I took it to study a light content today: scientific methodology. the first chapter talks about philosophy in ancient Greece, I already saw this subject in my first period of college, so it's a very simple review.

I did a total of 110 minutes of total focus today 💚
I didn't pick up any heavy reading, despite reading "The Prince" on the bus on the way to work .
on any other day I would strive to finish the chapter, to hit more cycles without breaks, but today I took some time to watch my favorite series and relax.

obviously it's Gilmore girls 🤍
🌷 ››thank you for accompanying me here. hope you take a break too 🤍
good studies and breaks for all of us! see you tomorrow 🥰

tuesday, august 1st
welcome august! and along with it a new chapter: my preparation for going back to college.
my classes started next week. I have been advancing all the first chapters of the subjects to advance my academic life. and it looks like I'm getting it!
today I managed to close another chapter of another discipline!

I did 126 minutes of total focus today. I confess that I had to take a break for the sake of my health.
I did three 25 minute cycles in the morning and two more cycles in the evening after work. both with 5 minute breaks.
I have to confess that I manage to keep my focus better in the morning because I'm more rested, but even so I won't stop studying at night, even if it only means two cycles.
I'm really happy with the first day of august 🩷
🌷 ›› hope your day was great!
good studies for all of us, until next time!

monday, july 31st
my day today was very productive. every Rory Gilmore's dream.
I use the "Forest" app to help me with focus and study cycles. it is very rewarding to see the trees growing and your day becoming a forest 💚
today I managed to maintain 171 minutes of total focus. most cycles were 25 minutes long with 5 minute breaks.
had some 10 minute cycles.

I managed to complete the entire chapter 1 of educational psychology and even managed to make a brief summary. I'm proud of myself for today 🤍

sunday, july 30th
I don't usually study on Sundays, but the organization got the best of my spirit and I decided to do a "study control" at the beginning of this evening.
I separated the chapters and added a color system. Separated reading for the week and I'm pretty excited to start sharing my studies around here.

📑 I'm going to use a color system in this list. unfortunately it is written in Portuguese, but it is quite instinctive:
yellow is for the chapters I'm currently studying
green is for completed chapters
red is for the chapters where I started to study but I don't intend to complete

📖 for this week's reading, I selected "The Prince" by Niccolò Machiavelli. I believe it will help me in my studies and personal growth and worldview.
thank you for accompanying me here 🩷
to the next! take care 🤗
