I believe my therianthropy was always there since I was born but how it actually developed had to have been from neurodivergence , trauma , and imprinting.

I never related to humans at all and didn' t understand how to socialise or act like them , while I also grew up with a family dog. I looked up to her a lot and naturally I' d copy those I looked up to. It felt more natural following her natural and behaviour than it was following human behaviours. I learned dog social skills and developed canine instincts from her instead of learning human ones. I was mistreated a lot by my parents so unmasking and slipping back into my canine mindset gave me comfort and a sense of freedom. I' d continue to get fixated on my species and I' d watch a lot of dog documentaries to understand them more and everything. I' d play with the dog toys she never played with and I' d eat snacks similar to kibble and attempt to drink out of a cereal bowl or smth @_@

Around like , maybe my 6-7 years , I gained a huge fixation to dragons cuz' I found them to be oddly relatable , and I' d have a big dragon research phase every month , even now still. I' d act like a dragon at times at home , seemingly involuntarily when I was having one of those days but to cope at times as well. I drew them constantly and filled my room with them. I always felt I' d be some sort of white dragon. I was more into chinese dragons than european dragons cuz' they stuck out more to me. They were another coping / defense mechanism for me. I don' t really remember how I got so into dragons tbh ....

Couple years later here we are guys

Is it only me who hates when people say “ask me anything” and give short answers to “why are you a therian?” I always see “well it’s involuntary” while YES it’s involuntary I wanna know WHY it formed! Trauma? Dehumanization? Metaphysical beliefs? Mental illness? Imprinting? Cultural beliefs? Supernatural beliefs? Stress? Need to escape? Neurodivergence? TELL ME PLEASE! Especially how your physical Therianthropy formed! For me it was dehumanization, trauma, and a bit of neurodivergence! ANY CREATURE ELSE READY TO SHARE?

I never thought or accepted that I could ever have more than one theriotype cuz' I figured it'd be too much for me to handle and wasn' t for me , and I couldn' t find a special connection in any breed , not even collies. Collies were a group breed I always figured I' d be. They look like me , act like me , and I do feel a connection to them more than I connect w German sheps , but since I didn' t feel an EXTREME connection or that sudden "" therian spark "" , I never considered it and just kept looking.

It' s been a few months , a LOT of learning and overthinking ... and underthinking , switching around terms , ect ... and I can safely say I am a type of collie :p a brown collie of some sort. Still figuring it out "T-T
