You could always tell when Riri Williams was back in Chicago. The whole city seemed to shift around her, like it had been holding its breath. Especially in your house.
Everything felt louder, more alive. The delicious smell of your mom’s famous jerk chicken and cornbread always floated in the air—Riri’s favorite. But your favorite part was always the sound of your brother Tyzen’s laugh echoing off the walls like music.
You loved seeing him like that. And Riri brought it out of him. You knew how much he missed her when she was away at school, how his other friendships never measured up to his bond with her. They’d been inseparable since they were kids. Like they shared a language only they understood.
You smiled as you reminisced on fond playground memories between the two, memories that weren't your own, but ones you bore witness to. Tyzen and Riri, bonded by scraped knees, shared secrets, and a thousand inside jokes.
But unlike your older brother, you weren’t here to chase nostalgia. No, your plans for the weekend were far less innocent. You were here to collect new memories, souvenirs to tuck away and revisit when the nights got too quiet and Riri was three states away.
With a sly grin, you gave yourself a once-over in the mirror, mentally patting yourself on the back for the outfit you put together. The charcoal-grey top clutched your chest like a second skin, particularly the reason you chose it. You’d tugged the zipper down as far as decency—or temptation—allowed, framing your breasts with just enough boldness to dare her to stare. Your nipples peaked against the fabric, shameless and defiant.
The black mini skirt? Shorter than it needed to be for a casual night in, and you wouldn’t have had it any other way. It sat high on your waist, sculpted to every dip and swell of your body like it was part of the plan. Because indeed it was. That hem danced across your thigh with every shift of your hips, flirtatious and fearless, daring gravity to try its luck. Pull it down? Not a chance. Let it ride up. Let her look.
One final glance in the mirror, and you stepped out of your room, hips swaying as you strutted down the hallway—bait cast, hook sharpened, and your favorite kind of trouble waiting on the other end.
•••
You heard her before you saw her.
“Ty, you still got that weak-ass jump shot?” Riri questioned, her voice carrying that same mischievous edge you remembered from all the years she spent hanging around your house. It used to annoy you, back when you were younger, when she was just your brother’s best friend. When you didn’t look at her the way you did now.
You pushed open the front door and stepped onto the porch, leaning against the frame as you watched them play in the driveway. The late afternoon sun spilled across the backyard, catching in Riri’s curls as she dribbled the ball low to the ground, quick and smooth, like she didn’t even have to think about it.
Ty snatched the ball and backed up a few steps, bouncing it lazily like he had all the time in the world. “You talking like I won’t dust your lil ass right now if we was actually playing for real.”
Riri scoffed, hands on her hips. “Nigga, you got one move, and that shit barely work.”
Ty laughed, then hit her with something quick—a fake-out that had her losing balance. “My one move got yo ass stumbling right now. You better watch them ankles, Ri.”
Riri blinked, then burst out laughing. “Okay, you got it. But try that shit again, and I’m locking yo old ass up.”
You leaned against the patio railing, watching them go at it. They were all elbows, sneakers, and insults. But it worked for their dynamic.
And in the middle of it all, you kept your eyes on Riri, awaiting the moment she finally glanced your way.
You crossed your arms under your chest, pushing your boobs up higher, welcoming your spilling cleavage. Your skirt was riding up some more, and of course you let it—assisted it even.
You were dripping with intent, radiating want like heat off pavement, and you needed Riri to notice.
As if pulled by some unspoken force, her eyes flicked your way. Brief, like an afterthought—until it wasn't. She did a double take, gaze snapping back to you, locking in on your skin, your curves, the deliberate softness barely covered by your clothes. There was awe there, laced with disbelief, like she was seeing you for the first time and didn’t quite know what to do with it, the game with your brother no longer holding her attention.
You had her. Hook, line, and wide-open stare.
You didn't even bother hiding your smirk. Why would you? You were dressed for the role you wanted, now it was time to play it. And by the look in Riri’s eyes, dark and pulling, she was already halfway.
“Well, damn,” She muttered, low. Almost too quiet to catch.
But you caught it. You saw the way her mouth twitched into an intrigued smirk before Ty stepped into her line of sight and launched the ball dead at her chest. “Hell nah. Don't even think about it.”
“Whatchu mean?” Riri retorted, feigning confusion. Her eyes never left you, their glare refusing to let you exhale, her grin still curved and dangerous.
You watched Ty narrow his eyes, a warning flashing across his face—dead serious and in protective older brother mode. “Think I don’t see the way you eyeing my baby sister? I know you, Ri. And I’m telling you no. Fuck no. You not starting nothing with her.”
“Starting what?” Riri lifted a shoulder, all casual, amusement coating her words like this was all funny to her. “I’m just saying hi.”
She lifted her hand in a short wave, eyes glued to yours. And you waved back, slower, bolder—your gaze drifting down the length of her fingers.
Yeah… those fingers would do just fine.
You bit your lip, unable to suppress your ever-growing grin. Your cheeks burned hot, not with shame, but with fire. Thrill thrummed through your veins like static, alive and buzzing as you drank in the image of Riri. You didn’t even pretend to look away. You let her know exactly where you stood: opposite of everything Tyzen was saying.
You wanted her to start something.
Needed it like air.
•••
She didn’t look at you again for the next five minutes, not until you arched a brow in her direction, then turned on your heel and sauntered back toward the house. You knew exactly what you were doing. Knew your ass was practically begging for attention beneath that skirt, and knew Riri wouldn’t be able to ignore the invitation written in every step you took.
By the time you were clicking the door shut behind you, you caught her voice, weightless and nonchalant as she muttered something to Ty about needing to call her mom.
A weak excuse. But you didn’t care.
Whatever got her inside.
Once you were inside, the house felt still. Cool air, dim light, and that quiet hum of anticipation settled into your bones. You took your time on the couch, legs tucked just right, your glass of lemonade perched between your fingers like a prop you knew exactly how to use.
And Riri was right on your heels.
Her sneakers padded lightly over the wood floors as she walked in, slower now, like she was stalling for something she hadn’t admitted to herself yet. She didn’t notice you at first, just moved straight into the kitchen like she knew the layout by heart, because she did. She grabbed a glass, filled it with water, and leaned against the counter while she pulled out her phone.
You listened quietly as her voice lifted, caring and soft.
“Yeah, Ma… I’m still here. Probably for another hour, maybe two… yeah, I’ll be back in time. Promise.”
A pause, then a short laugh. “No, I’m not getting into anything. Just chillin.”
She hung up, set her phone on the counter, and let her weight shift against the kitchen island. That’s when her eyes finally landed on you, traveling up the length of your legs, all the way up your exposed skin until you two were staring at each other.
And just like that, the smirk was back—slow, wide, and full of intent.
You took a sip from your lemonade, straw between your lips as you held her gaze. Deliberate. Unbothered. Dangerous.
“Thought that lil line about calling your mom was a weak ass excuse to come see me,” You said, your voice smooth, head tilted slightly as you played with the straw. “But I respect it. Not lying on your moms like that.”
Riri didn’t take the bait—not directly.
Instead, she stepped a little closer, cocking her head, gold chain catching in the low light. “When you start dressing like that?”
You crossed your legs, slow and precise, your skirt shifting just enough. “I only dress like this when I know who’s coming over.”
Her lips parted like she had something smart to say, but all she managed was a quiet,
“You tryna get me in trouble?”
Your smile didn’t waver, it spread wider. “What if I am?”
The air stretched between you like a balloon threatening to pop. You could tell Riri wanted to say something reckless—do something worse…
Then the front door opened, and the balloon deflated, exhaling all the tension back into the air before returning to its original, boring shape.
Ty walked in, his expression already suspicious. He took one look at Riri, then at you, then back at Riri again before dropping onto the couch beside you like a man with a mission.
“Y’all real quiet in here,” he said slowly, settling in way too comfortably. “I ain't interrupting anything am I?”
You kept your face blank, and took another sip.
Riri just shook her head, that smirk now tucked behind her teeth as she crept over to the couch, dropping down on the other side of you. Her thigh brushed yours—light, unintentional on the surface—but she didn’t move away.
“Nah,” She hummed, grabbing the remote and flipping on the Bulls game, already halfway through. “Just got off the phone with Ma. We got dinner plans later, so y’all only got me for like another hour.”
She said it like it was nothing, eyes glued to the screen, but her body leaned ever so slightly in your direction, like gravity was playing favorites. And you could feel the warmth of her skin where it pressed into yours, barely there but impossible to ignore.
You sat in silence between them, enduring their cheers, screams, and over-the-top commentary through the last two quarters of the game. Normally, you would’ve dipped out, shut yourself in your room, ignored their loud-ass shenanigans. But not today.
Sitting next to Riri was part of the plan. Letting her thigh brush against yours, her palm rest on your bare skin when Tyzen was too caught up in the game to notice, that was the game you were watching.
The corners of your lips curled as her fingers crept higher, slow and shameless, inching closer to the heat between your legs. She hovered there, teasing, always on the edge of something more. Never quite touching, until the final buzzer sounded and the Bulls took the win.
Tyzen jumped up with a shout, arms thrown in the air. And in that moment, Riri slipped two fingers beneath your skirt, rubbing them against the soaked fabric of your panties. Brief, yet firm, just enough for you to become acquainted with the feeling.
It took everything in you not to cry out. Your breath lodged hard in your throat, thighs twitching, nerves stinging. And she knew it. She didn’t even look your way. Riri kept her eyes on the screen like nothing happened, save for the smug little grin tugging at the corner of her lips.
Your heart was racing. Your plan was working like magic. Minimal effort, maximum effect, and you silently thanked whoever made Riri so damn easy to tempt.
You leaned back, watching as your brother walked her to the door, dapped her up, and exchanged their usual “see you laters.” But her focus wasn’t on him.
It was on you.
And of course, you gave her something to look at, letting your legs fall open so she could witness the growing wet stain on the fabric of your lacy panties. You held the pose for a beat, long enough to see her lick her lips before turning back to Ty, who still had his back to you.
“Aight, Ty. Ima see you,” She said, pulling him into a quick hug before heading out.
“Don’t be a stranger, Ri,” You called after her, all flirtation, sugar-sweet and dripping with suggestion.
She didn’t respond, but you caught the shake of her shoulders on the way out as she laughed to herself.
Ty shut the door, then turned to you with that big-brother face that said he knew something was up. And he wasn’t happy.
“I’m warning you right the fuck now,” He began, dead serious. “Whatever ideas you got that involve Riri, get that shit out your head. She’s family. Y’all better dead that shit. I’m not fucking playing.”
“I’m not fucking playing,” You mocked under your breath, rolling your eyes as you stood. “Go to hell, Tyzen.”
Like hell you were gonna listen. He should’ve known better than to waste his breath on you.
You sauntered off to your room, smug and satisfied, heat still pulsing between your legs, and Riri’s touch still lingering like a secret written on your skin.
•••
It was nearly 1 a.m., and sleep wasn’t even pretending to come.
You’d flipped your pillow three times, kicked off the blanket, dragged it back over your legs, rolled to one side, then the other. But the heat under your skin had nothing to do with the room. It was her. Still. Riri’s hands, her smirk, the way her fingers had pressed into you, melding with your wetness like they were supposed to be there. That shit had replayed in your head like your favorite song stuck on loop.
You grabbed your phone from the nightstand, screen lighting up your face in the dark, and stared at it for a few seconds before typing out the first thing that came to mind.
You: ty ain’t home
Simple. To the point. You knew what it meant. And so would she.
Then you waited. And waited.
Forty-five damn minutes passed. Long enough for you to talk yourself out of it twice, then back into it a third time. You tossed your phone onto the mattress with a groan, only to snatch it up the second it buzzed.
Riri: where he at?
You rolled your eyes, already feeling the corners of your mouth tug upward.
You: with his bm
Riri: oh aight
That was it. No follow-up. No movement. Just those two words and radio silence like she didn’t know exactly what the hell you were trying to say.
You tapped back into the chat and reacted to your original message with a little exclamation point. Emphasis, bitch. You knew she saw it.
A minute later:
Riri: okay, he ain’t home. what that mean? lol
You narrowed your eyes at your screen, giggling under your breath even though you were annoyed. She was being so irritating on purpose, and it was almost cute. Almost.
You took a deep breath, chewing your bottom lip before finally typing:
You: it means come over dummy🙄
There was a beat. Then her reply came in, slow, like a smirk in text form.
Riri: what i’m coming over for?
Oh, she knew. She knew and she was dragging it out, sucking every bit of patience you had straight to the surface.
You sat up, head falling back to your headboard with a groan, but you were grinning now, fully wrapped in her little game.
You: what other reason would i have to text you at damn near 2 in the morning? riri stop playing with me.
Another pause.
Riri: you was playing with me earlier. what, i don’t get a turn?
Your stomach fluttered.
She was still teasing, but her tone had shifted, something a little deeper in it now, something real. You could feel the change through the screen.
You: come over then. i promise you’ll get your turn.
You hit send and stared at the message, nerves and excitement warring in your bosom. The silence that followed was louder than anything. You laid back, phone on your chest, eyes on the ceiling, heart thudding.
She was coming, no confirmation text necessary.
•••
About fifteen minutes later, your phone lit up with a single text:
Riri: outside.
That was all it took.
You damn near flew down the stairs, bare feet silent on the wood. You’d done away with the oversized T-shirt you fell asleep in, swapping it out, instead, for something silkier, sexier—your short, satin nightgown. The material moved against your body like it had a motive. Just the right amount of skin, just enough reveal. You didn’t throw it on for comfort.
This was bait.
You paused at the door, hand on the knob, imitating the tact needed to play it cool. Then you cracked it open.
The night air rolled over your skin, light and dry, making your curls dance as the door swung wide. And there she was.
Riri stood just outside, one hand buried in the pockets of her grey sweats, the other gripping her backpack, holding it in place on her muscular shoulder. That black tank stretched across her chest in a way that made it hard to focus on anything else. Her gold chain glistened, the little “R” pendant resting right at her collarbone like punctuation. She looked comfortable, casual, too casual for someone making this many waves in your system.
Her eyes dragged down your body languidly, stopping and lingering over everything you had exposed to her.
“Damn,” She said, that smirk creeping onto her lips. “You don’t leave nothing up to the imagination, do you?”
You raised a brow. “And yet somehow you still standing there imagining shit.”
That remark made her laugh, and you rolled your eyes. “This whole situation amusing you, huh?”
“Lil bit, yeah,” She said, not bothering to deny it. “You gon invite me in or…?”
“In a minute,” you murmured, leaning into the doorframe, voice lazy and sweet. “Need some time to remember what you look like before...”
She huffed a laugh, eyes dancing. You saw the way her fingers twitched in her pockets like she was resisting the urge to reach for you already. That cocky patience of hers was barely holding.
You gave her a slow once-over, letting your gaze linger unapologetically. “Sweats and a tank, huh? That’s what you wear to your 2 a.m. booty calls?”
Her brows lifted. “That what this is?”
“You showed up, didn’t you?”
“Who says I wasn't already on the way over? Maybe I had to handle something for your brother.”
“Mhmm,” You said, drawing the sound out. “And maybe I'm just wearing this because I ran out of clean laundry.”
She laughed again, scratching her nose a little. “You so full of shit.”
“Just like you, boo.”
That made her smile for real, and you stepped aside to let her in. You held out your hand, fingers open.
Riri didn’t hesitate, she just slid her hand into yours like it belonged there.
And without another word, you turned, leading her up the stairs, hips swaying, entrancing the shorter girl with every stride. Her hand stayed in yours the whole way, grip firm.
She was still smiling when you pushed open your bedroom door, and she stepped through, eyes dark and knowing.
•••
Your bedside lamp casted a gentle glow over the room, accentuating your shadow and Riri’s as you walked into the space.
She stepped inside behind you, locking the door with a quiet finality. Riri dropped her backpack onto the chair in the corner without a word, turning to look around your space like she hadn’t been in your room a thousand times before.
But this wasn’t the same room anymore. Not tonight.
You leaned against your dresser, arms folded just under your chest, nightgown sliding dangerously high up your thigh. You watched her as she stood there, hands in her pockets again like that could somehow keep her grounded.
“What’s in the bag, Ri?” You asked, voice dripping with mischief, head tilted in curiosity. You already had a feeling. And judging by the flicker of a smirk on her face, she knew you knew.
She hadn't answered right away, just looked over at you with that slow-burning kind of gaze that fried a hole through your skin.
And in true Riri fashion, she deflected, wandering toward your bed like she owned the place. “What would Ty think if he knew his little sister was texting me in the middle of the night like that? Using the fact that he with his kid to get me over here?”
You laughed under your breath, “I look like I give a fuck what Tyzen think?”
“No. You don't.” Riri sat down at the edge of your bed, legs spread slightly, arms resting on her knees like she was holding back. Her eyes dipped to the hem of your gown again, lingered, then snapped back to your face. “So what, you just couldn’t sleep?”
You walked towards her. Slowly, every step deliberate. “Couldn’t sleep,” You echoed, standing between her knees now, letting her fingers skim your silky nightgown. “Had a lot on my mind.”
Riri looked up at you, her breath cracking just slightly. “Oh yeah?”
You nodded, letting your fingers trail lightly across her shoulder, then down her chest, just grazing that damn chain.
“Like what?”
“You.” You blew it jaggedly, the answer to her question full of air and unrelenting lust. “You were on my mind, Ri.”
The silence between you stretched again, electric and tightly wound. Her hands twitched where they rested on her thighs. She was barely holding on, and so were you.
Riri reached for you, wrapped a hot palm around the expanse of your thigh, pulling you closer with a famished grunt. “I need to know you're sure about this. Need you to know what you're starting.”
“Oh, I know what I’m starting, Ri,” You purred, letting your digits tangle in her thick curls. You yanked her neck back, your force rough and unapologetic, causing her to wince beneath you. “Question is… do you know what you’ve started? That you're not leaving this room until I’m done with you?”
That yanked another breathy grunt from her throat. Not really a laugh. Not quite a moan. But something that let you know she felt your words all the way through.
“Been thinking about you all day,” She admitted, finally, the words soft but heavy, like they cost her something to say. “Since earlier… since before earlier.
Her slender digits were traveling up your inner thigh now, like your core was calling them home, drawing them closer and closer like a magnet. “Thinking bout all that ass you been flashing me,”
“This pussy…” Eager fingertips found your soaked crotch, your wetness coating Riri’s hand. She began rubbing slow circles into your budding clit, coaxing a few rapid moans from between your parted lips. “Fuck. I should’ve known your nasty ass wouldn't have any panties on up under here.”
This time she did moan, and fuck was the desperate little noise glorious. “I been trying to be good, but damn, you make it so fucking hard, bruh.”
“Funny,” You tilted your head, mouth curling. “I been thinking something similar for the past five months you been gone. Except, I never planned to be good, never wanted to.”
You shoved her hard, making sure she landed smack dab in the middle of your mattress before straddling her hips. In a swift, skilled motion, you peeled your nightgown off, discarding it somewhere to the side, not caring. What you cared about was the girl trapped underneath you, practically drooling as she stared up at your naked figure.
“Jesus Christ…” Riri exhaled, forcing you to taste the hunger she breathed into the air.
You giggled, leaning down to drag your tongue up the length of her throat. Then you nibbled on her earlobe, lips brushing the shell of it as you whispered, “You were too fucking easy.”
Riri’s hands gripped your bare ass, fingers digging in as she bucked her hips up into you, her clothed crotch pressing right where you needed it. “I was easy? You were the one prancing around the house in that thong you insist on calling a skirt.”
“You folded during a Bulls game.” You quipped, eyes glittering.
She smacked your ass hard enough to make you screech. “You had your legs open.”
“You had your fingers under my skirt.”
You were grinning down at her now, still perched in her lap, shamelessly grinding against her, chasing friction like your life depended on it. “This little tit for tat we got going is hot and all, but we both know why I called you over here. I need to be fucked, Ri. Now.”
“So demanding,” She smiled deviously. “And vulgar too. Just like a nasty little slut..” She pulled you down, kissing you then, slow at first, but there was no tiptoeing now. No guessing. Just mouths parting, hands moving, heat rising between you like a fire finally fed. Your hands found her hair as her grip tightened on your hips, pulling you closer, closer, like the space between you was never meant to exist in the first place.
You were the one to break the kiss, breathless, your hands tugging at the fabric still separating you. Riri was still fully dressed, and it was starting to piss you off. “Take this shit off.”
“Get off me and I will.”
You rolled your eyes, but obliged. The two of you switched positions, and you gawked from below as Riri ridded her body of every article of clothing, including her briefs. Immediately, your gaze dropped to her pussy. Neatly trimmed and calling your name, beckoning you near.
You hadn't even noticed you were reaching for her until Riri stopped you. “Not yet.”
Her refusal caused you to groan.
“You never been told no before?” She chuckled, eyes gleaming as she hovered over you, clearly amused.
You stared up at her, deadpan, wearing a face that screamed what the fuck do you think?
Riri only shook her head, moving to kiss your neck and you whimpered. Her lips traced a path down your throat, over your collarbone, dragging heat in their wake. It was deliberate. Reverent. She was finally taking what she’d been eyeing all night.
You arched under her touch, skin prickling as the cool air met warm flesh. Her mouth followed, and when it closed around your right nipple, your breath caught hard, hips bucking up into nothing, a quiet moan slipping out before you could stop it.
“You getting shy on me baby?” She teased, returning to suckle your left breast next.
You slid your fingers into her hair, tugging harshly, just enough to make her exhale against your skin. “I don’t even know what that word means.”
“Reckless girl…” Riri muttered, eyeing you with menacing intent.
You laughed, but it melted fast when her hand slipped between your legs, sliding over your throbbing, attention starved clit. “Riri… please.”
She hissed, “Damn baby, you wet as fuck…”
The wonder in her voice served as motivation, “Yeah, no shit,” You spat, already breathless, already unraveling. “You took forever.”
Riri didn't reward you with a worded response, instead, she let her digits do the talking. Her middle finger ran up the length of your wet folds, rousing, hovering at your crying entrance before sinking in, deep.
A whine sprung free, loud and reverberating, and you thanked the heavens your mother was a heavy sleeper. Riri’s slow strokes were plucked straight from your dreams, a thing you'd imagined, but never thought you'd get the chance to live. She let her fingers slip through you, slow and firm and devastatingly good. You were moaning, a mess splayed out beneath her. Your hips lifted off the bed, reaching for more.
Her thumb circled your swollen nub, her fingers slipped in and out of your soaked cunt, and the pressure built fast, like your body had been holding this tension for days instead of hours.
You were abusing Riri’s curls, pulling and fisting every strand as you felt your climax build in your deepest depths.
“Riri… right t-there! Don't fucking stop! Don't!”
She didn't. If anything, she got more focused, her eyes locked on your face like she wanted to watch the moment you fell apart for her. “This all I needed to do to get yo ass to act right? Hmm?”
You didn't respond because you couldn't.
She smiled, “You look so fucking good right now baby, all stuffed with my fingers,” She pulled them out momentarily, eyes transfixed on the way your slick coated the digits. “Sound good too. So loud for me, so messy.”
Riri splashed around in your sopping cunt, coaxing your orgasm nearer and nearer with her rapid thrusts and sinful words. You would say she didn't know what she was doing to you, but she did, wholeheartedly. And you knew she'd keep going, keep fucking you hard and deep until you were weeping, and begging her to stop.
“Wonder if you taste as good as you look.”
You hummed, plastering a dazed smile across your mouth, “You know I fucking do.”
“So mouthy, baby,” Riri whispered, her wet lips traveling the length of your abdomen, making their way down, down, down. “Can't wait to shut you up again with my tongue.”
Your breathing was already ragged, your legs already twitching as her mouth ghosted lower, teasing just above where you needed her most. Her wet hands pushed your legs apart, spreading them with no hesitation. You watched her eyes roll the moment she heard a soft squish erupt from your wet pussy as your thighs separated for her, felt her breathy moan kiss your sweaty flesh as she moved her mouth closer to your heaving cunt.
You tried to say something smart, another slick comment, another jab, but the words got caught in the back of your throat the second her tongue flicked out, attacking your clit with haste.
All at once, your sass collapsed into a gasp, your hand flying up to grab onto something, anything, needing something to anchor you in this moment. But Riri didn’t give you time to adjust, didn’t let you settle, she kept going, kept tasting you like she had all night and nothing else to do.
Riri’s mouth attacked your aching pussy, latching on to your clit, breathing you in like a woman drowning, and starved for oxygen. She slurped and sucked, drinking all of your juices as you thrashed above her.
She paused for half a second, lips slick, eyes gleaming. “Still got something to say?”
You wanted to smack her, just a little. Just to remind her who she was dealing with. But violence would have to wait.
She was making you feel too good. Your orgasm was clawing its way up, hot and heavy, and there was no stopping it now.
The wet sounds of her tongue lapping you up, her hungry growls vibrating against your skin. It was all so obscene, and it was everything. Riri wasn’t just trying to make you come. She was consuming you, like she needed you to live.
And fuck, she was getting off on it too.
You could feel it in the way her hands trembled, in how she rutted subtly against the mattress with every moan that tore out of your throat. This wasn’t just about you. The way your voice broke on her name, the way your body writhed under her mouth, it was all pushing her to the edge, too.
If the tension in her frame meant anything, Riri was going to come right along with you.
And fuck, that thought alone almost finished you.
“Ri, baby, I’m close. S-So close…” You whined, fucking her face with your slippery cunt.
And she didn't shy away. Riri quenched her thirst with pools of your slick juices, suckling harder on your sore little nub, trying to bring you closer. “Me too baby. Come in my mouth, make me take that shit.”
You howled, the sound dragged raw from the pit of your stomach as your vision blurred, then vanished completely, eyes rolling back, going white with the force of it. You couldn’t see. Couldn’t hear. All you could do was feel.
And fuck, did you feel it.
Waves of pleasure crashed through your body, relentless and overwhelming, tearing through your senses like a storm. Your toes curled, locked in place, your body trembling as you rode it out, desperate to hold onto the high for as long as possible. You didn’t want it to end. You weren’t ready to let it go.
You were gone, so out of it that you didn’t even realize Riri was coming too, twitching between your thighs as her own orgasm sucked her under. But she’d come up before you had. And now, she was murmuring something low, lips brushing your inner thigh, her hand smoothing over your stomach like she was trying to coax you back to earth.
Trying to remind you you were still here.
Still hers.
“Baby? You good?” Her voice was muffled, faint in your ringing ears, but you heard it.
You managed a weak nod, barely able to make out her drenched face through your blurred vision, and she chuckled.
“You never squirted like that before, huh?” She sounded confident in her accusation, and you wanted to slap that smug smirk right off her face.
But she was right, and you let her know, “No… f-first time…”
“I can tell. I never came from just eating pussy either. Guess we both got firsts tonight.”
You grinned wide, finally able to take in just how soaked her face really was, like she’d laid there and let you waterboard her on purpose. She looked satisfied as hell, licking her lips slowly, chest jumping as she tried to catch her breath.
You smirked, voice syrupy and bold. “Don’t tell me you a one-nut wonder, Ri. That’d be… disappointing.”
Riri huffed a little laugh, shaking her head as she peered down at you, wonder stricken by your tenacity. “You really think that?”
You shrugged, smirk still sitting pretty on your lips. You weren’t backing down.
Your gaze followed her lazily as she stepped off the bed, sauntering toward the chair where she’d dropped her backpack earlier. Her eyes were glinting, mischief written all over her face as she picked it up and walked it back over to you.
“Still wanna know what I got in here?” Riri asked, voice steeped in trouble.
Your laugh was one you could not swallow, it’s intensity causing you to topple over into your mattress, cheeks blazing, and your stomach bubbling with excitement.
Your laugh broke out before you could stop it, loud and bright, your the quiet room. You collapsed back into your pillows, cheeks flushed, stomach flipping with anticipation.
You already knew you were in for it.
You couldn’t fucking wait.
•••
“Knew you’d be tight, but god f-fucking damn, b-baby…”
You were on top of her, riding her specialty strap like there was no tomorrow. Your thighs were burning, a thick, sticky ring of cum already gathered at the base of the toy, but you refused to relent. The stretch was too good, the girthy member spreading your walls wide as you took her, over and over again at your own pace.
Of course Riri wasn’t helping. She just gripped your hips, holding you there, letting you do all the work while her eyes dragged over your body, half-lidded but locked in. Watching you bounce on her dick like she was committing it to memory. Like the show was just for her.
You hated how much that turned you on. Hated how smug she looked, how languid her touch was, like she knew you’d ride her regardless. And she wasn’t wrong.
So you’d given yourself a new mission: Break her chill exterior and make her lose it completely. Make her beg for release just like you had.
And judging by the way her grip on your waist kept tightening… maybe you were getting close.
“Yeah? My pussy feel good wrapped around that big dick, don't it, Ri?” You flipped your hair to the side, eyes penetrating her soul as you grinded down harder, more fervent than before.
Shit this was good. No, it was fucking fantastic. Your third orgasm was clawing its way out, so close you could taste its flavor all over your tongue.
Riri was a mess beneath you, whimpering louder than you now. Her thumbs dug into your lower back, leaving heat in their wake as she clung to you. She was rutting up into you, her thrusts syncing perfectly with your relentless grind. The both of you were chasing the same wild and wordless sensation.
“Shit, y-yeah. Too damn good. Fin- Finna bust in this pretty pussy baby… mmm.”
That declaration made you clench around her, strangling her dick with your gushing, wet walls. But Riri fucked up into you anyway, working against your restriction. God, you could combust right here, right now.
“Play with your titties for me.” Her voice was a rasp that hardly existed.
You obeyed without reluctance, lifting your palms from her damp abdomen to tug on your puffy nipples. You groaned immediately at the contact, hips jerking forward on Riri’s pelvis. You were dripping now, clenching tighter with every movement as you climbed toward something holy, chasing relief like it owed you salvation.
“Baby… I’m finna come, finna come inside baby shit…” She was delirious, “Keep showing off for me. Please, please, please don't stop.”
You couldn't help the way your lips flicked. God this girl was soo easy to test. But you loved it. You continued fondling your breasts and tweaking your nipples, moaning all the while. Your attentive buds had always been so extra sensitive.
“You wanna come in me?” You picked up your pace, fully aware of how close she was to the edge. Your well-used cunt clenched in anticipation, eager to welcome every drop of what she was about to give you.
“Mhmm! Wan– Wanna–”
You leaned forward, cradling her sweaty throat in your palm… and squeezed. “Beg for it.”
Defiance flared in her eyes, and you could tell Riri wanted to rebut, but the way you held her neck in your grip barred any chance of that happening.
And she had no choice but to adhere.
“Let me come in this tight pussy, ma. I’m begging you. Let me fill your hole up, please. I need to fuck it back into you when it starts to spill out… baby… I-I, I need– please...”
Blubbering and pathetic. Just how you liked your women.
You smirked, you knew it would take nothing to tip her over now. She was practically crying as she struggled to hold it in.
But you weren't quite done with her yet.
You were slamming down onto her dick, hard and rough like you like it, strangling her, restricting her airway as you edged yourself again and again.
And then you let her go, allowing her to take her first breath of air in minutes, before whispering, “Fuck me from the back and nut in me, Ri.”
Riri didn’t need to be told twice. In seconds, she had you flipped onto your stomach, her grip firm and unrelenting as she manhandled you into place, your face buried in the pillows, the scent of your own skin and sweat surrounding you, hips yanked up until your ass was arched and begging.
“Shit…” She hissed, reacclimating her strap to the warmth of your hole.
You barely had time to catch your breath before she started moving, like she knew the exact angle that would have you clenching the sheets and biting down on a moan. “Fuck me Ri, fuck meeee… ju-st like th-at!”
“Like this, ma? This how you wanted it?”
You whined agreement, knees beginning to buckle.
“You not giving up on me yet, right baby? We not done.”
Riri slammed into you, once, twice, three times before you felt her hot seed settle into your entrance, warming your body all over. But she didn't stop fucking her mess deep into you.
Your orgasm followed just seconds after hers. Quicker than the last, but slower in how it bloomed through you. It rolled over every nerve ending like it was dragged by gravity, heavy and hot, stretching the moment into something endless. Your limbs went limp, and for a second, it felt like time cracked open and spilled out.
“Wish you could see how fucking messy you are right now, you're dripping.” She was still gliding in and out of you, like she physically could not stop—she couldn't let your pussy go. “So filthy.”
You gasped, too fucked out to stop her, not really wanting her to stop anyway. “Fuck it back into me, Ri. Make me take it.”
You didn't need to see her face to know she wore her signature smirk on her mouth, already granting your request without a sliver of hesitation. “God baby, you look so pretty when you full… need to keep you like this. Full of me. Full of you. Shit…”
•••
Minutes passed, maybe hours. You couldn’t really tell. Somehow, you were waking, eyes breaking open from what felt like the deepest sleep. Your limbs were heavy, your body sore in the best, most sinful way. You were warm, wrapped in sheets and skin, the faintest scent of sex still lingered in the air.
“Hey, sleepyhead.”
Riri’s voice drifted over you like a hug you didn’t ask for, but most certainly needed after the shit she put you through. You smiled without thinking, full grin, lazy and genuine.
She didn’t let it slide.
“Not you grinning when you hear my voice. Ego boost.”
“Girl, shut the hell up.” You giggled, turning your face toward her, cheek pressed into the pillow.
“You sleep okay?”
“Mhmm.”
She was already watching you, one hand kneading your ass like she wasn’t yet finished with you. Like she’d never be done. But the suggestion in her eyes was quiet now. She looked thoughtful. And a little hesitant.
“So,” She started, fingers still moving, “Not to
bombard you with the ‘what are we’ question, but…”
You blinked at her, fully awake now. “You say as you bombard me with the ‘what are we’ question.”
“I just wanna know what this means for us. You telling me you wouldn't wanna know what we are after the way we just fucked?”
“Riri–” You began, but she cut you off.
“And I don’t wanna lie to Ty,” She added, a little quieter. “He’s my best friend. You know how it is. But I’m not gonna act like this didn’t happen. Or like I don’t want it to happen again. I want it to keep happening.”
You rolled onto your side, facing her completely. “You think I regret this?”
Riri shrugged, but there was something vulnerable in the way she avoided your eyes. “You always been good at acting like shit don't phase you, so.”
“Only when it’s shit I don’t want,” You said simply. “And I want this, I want you. We’ll just... deal with Tyzen when the sun comes up.”
That got her to smile again. Not cocky this time. Just soft. Real.
You leaned in and kissed her, slow and steady, with none of the urgency from earlier. It wasn’t about wanting. It was about having.
And when you both finally pulled away, bodies entangled beneath the covers, you let the silence hold you for once.
No teasing. No biting. No banter.
Just the two of you, breathing in sync.
Sleep found you like that—arms wrapped around each other, legs locked, your satisfied grin still tucked into her collarbone.
Tomorrow could come whenever it wanted.
Tonight, you had her.

eternal eclipse ☆ | drolta x fem!reader (castlevania;nocturne)
to share only night together was not enough, only an eternity could quench your thirst for drolta.
warnings : talk of death, kissing, vampire stuff
word count : 1.5k+
note : soooo, it's been a while since i've posted any fanfic. not gonna lie life been really kicking ass and i struggled to write for my normal shuri stuff cause i lost my fixation. but i hope this little niche fanfic finds those who enjoy it :)
.

p.s. i recommend listening to "no ordinary love" by sade :)
"why don't you ever stay the night?"
"i stay every night." drolta says to you, licking her lips and recalling the fresh taste of your magnificent blood.
"or rather, morning." you whisper out, finding yourself a little too frail to sit up all the way. your dress falls as you sit up slightly. an exposed bite causing blood to run down your chest. drolta watched through pink eyes. the dark surrounding them was something so hypnotizing that you always found yourself falling into it. it was like some kind of inviting abyss.
"mortals and their silly questions. how you grovel for my touch and teeth among your skin is ever so amusing."
"i grow older drolta!" you weakly yell out to her. this grabs her attention, not once have you ever yelled at the higher powered being. you shed a single tear, letting out a sigh of utter desperation. "i age with every sunrise and dawn. my bones grow weaker and some day you will come to see me only to find an old woman in my place. i know i am young now, but i've aged over the last couple years and nothing about you changes. you're still as beautiful as the day we met and you will forever remain this way."
drolta's eyes drop away from yours, taking in your words of anguish. she knew you were right, because she'd have other companions before. she had bed women and men far before you were ever born. she'd watch them go and come, their children or grandchildren sometimes even becoming her next fling. it was a cycle she had grown oddly accustomed to, not feeling any certain emotion for one or the next. she liked the fact that she aged and grew more powerful in the search of the vessel for her goddess while others perished. it made her feel the power she knew she had within her.
your hand finds her exposed arm. she turns to look at you.
"drolta, i envy that some day i will be too old for you and yet someone will be just young enough. it is not fair that you help me to discover such deep emotions. not ever will i feel for someone the way i feel for you. all this feeling, just for it to one day end once i can no longer serve you."
"there have been some before you and there will be many after you. i am a soul that walks this earth with no true claim anymore. you have a purpose, and warm blood to keep you living in the way your story speaks."
"what if my story is simply for me to serve you? i want to be your companion in this feeble mortal life that i share with my human counterparts. then, have that companionship follow into a new world my soul can not comprehend. i do not want to age among the rest, i want to have a face that is young but a mind that is aged by love. your love."
drolta had heard many a confession, but this one did something different to her. she swore that if she had a heartbeat she could feel it perhaps skip a beat.
"do you know exactly what it is that you're asking of me? what that means to be my partner eternally?" drolta asks, clearly enticed by the idea.
"i don't now what all it means, but i'd have an eternity to learn. i want to devour the sunlight with you, devour the world alongside you. what if i am the vessel that you desire?"
drolta's pink eyes lock onto your dark ones. for the first time she thinks she can feel a devotion to someone other than her goddess. or, perhaps, for her goddess in a new twisted discovery. this shocks her, renders her unable to think properly. she had spent so long devoting her life to a woman that she didn't know what it meant to have true devotion back. her body tingled, and her pink hair began to flame up from the idea.
you were the vessel for her messiah.
"you will devour the sun, me alongside you. first, i shall devour you."
the word devour sent chills through your body.
she extends a hand out to you. you gracefully accept the invite. she uses her enhanced strength to pull you up, your warm body next to her cold one as she spreads out her wings. the two of your exit out of the french doors and onto the balcony that your family's wealth had graciously provided for you. it was where you first met drolta.
her wings flap and for the first time you find yourself floating in the air. your eyes grow wide and a childlike smile spreads across your face. drolta gives you a devilish smile in return.
oh, to be in love with something so unholy as she.
no angel could ever look this beautiful.
"romantic, isn't it?" she asks, licking over the neck wound. it sends you into a euphoria, as your blood sends her into a similar one. you can feel the heat from her inflamed pink hair grazing your skin.
"i love you, drolta."
your lips find hers as you're both suspended in the air over a lake. your eyes are closed but you can still see the pink hues from among your eyelids. as if you were stuck in a trance, she kisses you harder and faster. you can taste your own blood in her mouth, ever so addicting. now you can see why she can't seem to leave you alone.
a moan escapes from inside of you, one out of the millions drolta had heard before. she had come to see you every night since you met, which was three years ago. some nights she'd stay for a chat or a simple couple of minutes. others she would ravage you and drink you almost dry just to do it again the next night.
"take me!" you beg to her, causing her flame to grow bigger and eyes to grow wider. god, how she craved your mortal being. your naivety and free outlook. anyone else feared death, and yet you welcomed it, knowing the transformation may not even work with how powerful drolta's blood truly was. she had turned others before. you were just the first in a very long time.
she stops her feverish and hungered kisses, diving for your neck. sharp teeth overtake you, a pain echoing from your neck to the rest of your body. it was a familiar pain, but it never got any easier to get accustomed to. you welcomed the pain and the feeling of being drained entirely. you enjoyed the feeling of her tongue sweeping over the blood seeping from your neck. just as you loved the way her tongue swept over your feminine autonomy. the devil was draining you and you desired it to never end.
it didn't matter that you were losing the color in your body. nothing mattered anymore. as you could feel your life force being drained from your very being. she was bringing you death, but she was also bringing you to a new life. an eternal one.
your hand fell from her neck, losing all of its feeling. drolta senses that you're near the end and rips her teeth away from you, finding it hard to control herself. your blood was unlike any other that she'd ever tasted. it was blood good enough to compare to the likes of her messiah.
the moonlight shone on the two of you, bouncing off of the tiny ripples that existed among the waters below you. it was beautiful, a perfect end to a beginning. your eyes closing slightly, drolta being the last thing you see. she was smiling at you, but not out of love, more out of accomplishment.
"drink." the words slither out of her mouth. she rips into her own wrist, causing a new blood to seep from within her.
surprised in yourself, you don't waste any time reaching fervently for the blood of your lover. your mouth clings onto her wrist and suckles in any blood she can spare for you. your eyes are closed as you fall into a bliss. her moans filled your ears every so pleasantly.
she pulls you away from her wrist, knowing that if you get any more you may kill her.
when she sees your face again it is still the same shade she's always adorned. yet, your eyes are different this time. no longer a dark brown, but a light one, almost a shade of gold. it reminds her of egypt.
it reminds her of sekhmet.
your fangs are dripping with her blood.
"my bringer of death!" she shouts out to you. you don't register what she's saying due to the unfamiliar new being you seem to find yourself as.
her lips once again collide with yours. there's a newfound hunger shared between the two of you. something much deeper than anything ever felt before. drolta did not know what it meant to love, you did. yet, somehow this seemed like something so unfamiliar to the both of you. was it lust? or was it something much deeper that transcends both vampire and human?
it didn't matter, as the two of you kissed deeply and passionately in the air above the lake. the sight so beautiful that even the sun not dared to come up in fear of interrupting the moment. for a second, it seemed as if the night would be eternal, just you and drolta suspended in the air for an eternity.
an eternity you were sure to bring, as the vessel for the new messiah.

Scotty HCS P2
I’m going through my drafts and clearing everything outtt and I found these HCS
- is always staring at your lips with those wide eyes and she’s horrible at hiding it.
- when you’re getting ready to go out and you ask her how you look, she’s speechless.
- you have to fight tooth and nail to get this woman to go out because she loves staying home.
- she’s a very cuddly person, laying her head on your lap when the two of you watch TV or on your shoulder.
- the more she’s around you, the more she picks up your mannerisms, like your facial expressions and the two of you don’t notice it for a while.
- she’s really quiet when she first meets all your friends but they like her anyway.
- you ask her to do your eyeliner often because her hands are very steady and she’s never done you dirty.
- she often moves you out of the way when she needs to get the cabinet, for example, she’ll grab your waist and move you. she doesn’t find it flirtatious at all but sometimes she knows you ain’t paying attention so.
- a lot of nights, the two of you find yourself in front of the tv while she’s detangling your hair for you.
- she’s very much the quiet girlfriend that listens.
- she likes the house to be NEAT, like really clean so if she sees that anything is misplaced, she puts it back.
- she likes to repaint the walls oftennnn, like a lot.
- she’s always building the furniture the two of you buy and she’s constantly fixing up any issues with the sink.
-at night, she’s very cuddly, like she needs to be in your skin, and holding you super tight. You get used to it after a little bit. She’s always tucking her face into your neck.

Shuri x pregnant!reader !!
i’ve never written for a pregnant!reader before but i really liked getting to tap into a more motherly shuri! sorry it's so short it's just out of my comfort zone, also i wanted to make sure i did this before it got too late due to my busy schedule lol.
my little panther ☆ | shuri x pregnant!reader
shuri loves her wife and her soon to be child, even though she keeps ruining their sleep.
warnings : none
word count : 470
when you heard the door open to your bedroom you couldn't help but awake. shuri was never quiet when she came home from the lab. she tried to step differently on the wooden floors or even shut the door three seconds slower but nothing ever worked. you still ended waking up.
shuri sighs, "i'm sorry. i tried to be quiet this time."
you sit up, rubbing your eyes, "it's okay, my love. it's not your fault that this baby has made me a light sleeper."
you can feel the smile that's beaming on shuri's face, even if you can't quite see it. shuri was always so excited whenever the baby was mentioned, whenever she thought about the baby, and when even anything baby related came up.
"how is my little panther?" she asks, plopping down on the bed and rubbing your shoulders. a smile spreads across your face.
"she's just fine. kicking up quite the storm though. i think she gets that from you."
"i disagree. you're the one who was kicking me when we were kids because i did not want to play house with you."
you chuckle, "and look where we are now. you should've listened to me."
shuri can't help but laugh either, knowing that she would've gotten you much pregnant sooner if she could've. the tech she designed took close to two years after you both decided you wanted a baby. thanks to the effort of shuri's brain and vibranium the baby would biologically be you and her's entirely.
"she knows you're home. i can feel her reaching out to you." you groan as you feel her moving around inside of you.
shuri's eyes light up. she moves around in front of you, allowing you to see her better.
her head presses up against your stomach as she rubs it. "hello my little panther!" she whispers against your stomach. you can't help but smile.
"this is your mommy, y'know the cooler one."
"shuri!"
"sorry, sorry." shuri chuckles, "i can not wait to meet you and introduce you to everyone, including your uncle t'challa. he's almost as excited as i am! and you'll get to meet your cousins, they are a handful. i already know you will be gifted with my smarts and your mother's beauty. she is the most beautiful woman in all of wakanda after all."
shuri's words melted your heart. you knew she would be a great mother but there was a time where shuri insisted otherwise. times like these know tell you that her thoughts were formed out of being scared to raise a child of her own. however, the fact you were doing it with her calmed her down.
"i think the baby and i are both tired."
"ah, you're right. i'll be quiet next time i promise."
"sure you will shuri."

who are you loyal to? ☆ | shuri x fem!reader
the ring on your finger is temporary, while shuri's claim on you is forever. some silly arrangement won't keep from her, she's just hurt you didn't tell her first.
warnings : cheating, kissing, arranged marriage
word count : 4k+
note : this is actually one of my favorite pieces i've ever written, so i hope you guys enjoy it :) also i just skimmed through it instead of proof reading so sorry if there are errors.
as your servants laced up the corset that lays under your black silky dress you couldn't help but dread the upcoming event. you'd been attending the wakandan tribe gala since you were in diapers. your mother and father ruling over the river tribe helped you get the invite after all these years.
when you were young you loved attending the gala. it was a time for you to feel accepted and welcome among the people of higher class. you could relate to the people of your tribe, but you couldn't help but feel isolated. you were the only daughter of your parents, meaning you faced the hard task of taking over for them once they passed.
attending the balls also didn't hurt because shuri had been in attendance. the princess of wakanda obviously had to be in attendance and you were happy to see her every time. when the two of you were just a few years younger you were very close. however, you mainly had to do most of your communication with her through kimoyo beads only. the only time you did get to see each other were at galas or royal meetings your parents would drag you along for. this meant this was the only time you and shuri got the chance to exercise your teenaged romance. your relationship was essentially long distance, without the distance. perhaps social distance and busy schedule distance would be a better term for it.
sneaking around the palace during the galas gave you both adrenaline. stealing kisses behind pillars and escaping the dora milaje at every corner made you somehow fall more in love with her. sometimes you two would sneak off into her lap, where no one would be due to how busy the ballroom was. she would show you all the things she made with you in mind as you sat on the table, smiling wide. you were in awe of her intelligence, while she was in awe of your beauty.
"this one i call y/n prototype number three." shuri said as she showed off a kimoyo beaded necklace, laced with vibranium diamonds. it made your eyes go wide from its beauty. she knew how much you loved jewelry. she also knew how much you liked it when she named her inventions after you.
"it matches your breathtaking beauty."
"oh shuri, stop it! you're too much of a sap." you said, smiling from ear to ear and laughing together as she hugs you.
at one point shuri had even set griot's voice to your own when she was alone in her lab. she had claimed it helped her focus, but really it was the only way she could get any real sleep.
one day she had forgotten to change the voice setting when her mother walked in. this resulted in many questions that shuri couldn't answer due to how flustered she was.
shuri was your first love, first meaningful relationship, and first sexual partner. you two were together for three years, which were some of the best in your entire life. a lot of the most important events in your life involved her.
now, this would be the first time you've seen her since your private break up. it would be the first time that you've seen her since her brother's passing. in his death he handed her the mantle of the black panther, which meant she spent less and less at home in wakanda.
it would also be the first time that you were to tell the queen, and shuri, about your soon-to-be wife. which would make your relationship with her far more public than shuri's.
an arranged marriage was very common within your tribe. your parents had been arranged and sometimes you wondered if they even truly loved one another. your heart had been with shuri, not someone random.
the breakup was caused because shuri was angry with the world. she wanted to burn it into ashes. she thought that because she had lost her brother that she had lost everyone who cared about her. her mind pushed out the thoughts of you, therefore ultimately leaving you alone to deal with your own grief as well.
it was painful knowing that she was dealing with something like this, self sabotaging herself in the process. you knew she would never be the same shuri, which only made you cry more. she was destroying herself and you could do nothing but watch.
however, almost two years had passed since then. this meant you needed to begin to move on, whether you liked it or not. you avoided seeing shuri in the media, blocking news sites and articles from popping up on your kimoyo beads that might showcase her. you refused to attend any formal events in fear that you may see her there despite her busy schedule. you became somewhat of a recluse, only letting your tribe people see you when you needed to go to the market. this ball was the only thing you couldn't get out of, and you tried ever so desperately to do so. your parents went on and on about how you need to stop avoiding the girl you were to marry. really, they had no clue that you were avoiding the girl you wanted to marry.
"they are here to escort you to the gala, y/n." your personal bodyguard spoke out. she had been a part of your tribe and was almost like an older sister to you. she was the only person who knew about the true nature of you and shuri's relationship. she was the only person who truly knew who your tears were for.
"thank you, i shall head out soon." you say to her, a smile on your face to hide the feelings you truly had. she knew it was a facade, but she admired you all the more for it. you were a strong woman, and an even stronger leader someday. she hoped that shuri would open her eyes again to you someday, but it was becoming less likely with your upcoming marriage.
she simply walks away, after giving you a nod. your face turns back to the vanity you sat at. your makeup looked beautiful and your hair was styled high on top of your head. you looked just as regal as you felt. you wondered if shuri would feel the same if your eyes met hers tonight.
"ah, my sweet daughter has finally decided to join society after all this time." your father says jokingly as you bow before the queen. everyone had to do so whenever they entered the gala. you did so, as the princess stood right beside her.
you refused to make eye contact, placing your gaze at anything but her. yet, out of the corner of your eye you couldn't help but watch her.
she had looked older, more mature. perhaps aged by her grief. she no longer wore her signature braids, instead opting for a curly top and a fade all the way around. her jawline no longer seemed childish and her body had been much more toned than before. she wore a dress of her own, it was long and somewhat boxy. it made her look tall and elegant. you curse bast for making her so much more attractive, therefore making her harder to resist.
shuri had been fighting the urge to look at you as well. it proved hard for her, because although she would not admit her cruelty she knew she messed up with you. while you actively went to of your way to avoid shuri, she kept up with you. she watched you in the market when you traveled through. she kept up with your charity work in america at the centers her brother had created before his passing. she thought she knew everything there was to know about you, not being able to let go after all this time.
"i hear we have an engagement on our hands?" queen ramonda asks, causing you to push out a fake smile. shuri can't help but look in your direction now, with her eyebrows furrowed and eyes wide. this couldn't be true, how did she not know? she prayed to bast that you would correct her mother.
"yes. i am to be married."
"to who?" shuri bursts out, her voice cracking a little as she speaks. the outburst causes you to finally look directly at her. your heart skips a beat, and she can sense it. most of all, she can see it, the pain hidden deep within your face when she looks at you. a pain that she caused, and she knows it too. her nose twitched at the realization.
your parents speak for you, considering you're far too choked up. "to make, she also from the river tribe. we thought it best to find someone from within our tribe for her."
"oh, how wonderful-" the queen begins to say, before being cut off by her daughter.
"this was arranged?" she looks bewildered and upset all at once. her voice had arguably raised an entire level and some people even began to look towards her. "do you people not even care if your daughter loves her?"
your mother scoffs as you stand there, stuck in your own embarrassment and surprise.
"shuri! know your place. do not ask such questions!" the queen says, quickly correcting her daughter's unruliness.
"i am sorry mother." she mumbles out, never once taking her eyes off of you.
"do not apologize to me. apologize to y/n and her parents."
in your mind there was nothing to apologize for. shuri had spoken out against something that both you and her knew was wrong. she knew how you felt about arranged marriages. you often expressed your fear to her that your parents would set you up in a loveless marriage someday. she would reassure you, saying that would never happen seeing as how she wouldn't allow it. besides, there would be no worry as long as you two were together. however, now you aren't together. now you were engaged and it was not to her.
"i am sorry elders." she speaks, and then looks at you. "i am sorry y/n."
it felt like her saying sorry for so much more than this outburst.
"apology accepted." your father states, not wanting to dwell on the matter more than you already had. your mother has an angry look on her face, still not taking the apology sincere.
"if you will excuse me, queen mother, i must be seeing my fiancée."
she simply nods her head, "i hope to speak with you about this exciting news later."
"of course." you say before walking off into the crowd of people.
"please excuse me as well." shuri says shortly after you walk off. she only heads off into your direction once her mother sways her away with a hand motion.
"y/n!" your fiancée calls over to you from the bar. her hand is in the air, showing her magnificent diamond on her ring finger. it was the most expensive your parents could get.
"makeya, my love. how are you tonight?" you ask her as you sit next to her in one of the empty chairs. it didn't feel right calling her that nickname, considering you did not truly love her. you loved her as a person. she was kind, beautiful, and ever so considerate of your feelings. had it been another universe you would've loved to be her person. however, you weren't and it felt so wrong to string her along. it wasn't like she had much choice in this situation either, although she seemed quite happy about it.
"i've never been able to attend one of these balls before. i always watched the lavish women enter from afar. i never imagined i'd get the chance to attend!"
for you, this was just a regular day out of the year.
"i'm glad i've been able to give you this experience." the bother in your voice is obvious. you don't even bother to hide it, knowing that you wouldn't be able to.
"is something the matter?"
"not particularly."
"ah, i know what is."
you raise your head, "you do?"
she laughs, "yes, you are probably just too used to these sorts of settings. they are not fun for you anymore."
"oh," you say, a little disappointed she hadn't guessed correctly and called of the engagement right then and there. "sure, that's it."
"y/n?" a familiar voice calls out to you. you would've liked to say you turned slowly to face her, when really it was the exact opposite. it was as if you were desperate for her to call out to you and you jolted up. your posture changed and your eyes widened as you looked at her. your lips went dry despite the gloss and air was caught in your throat. for some reason it felt like you were caught cheating.
"princess shuri?" makeya can't help but ask, the fingerling in her voice is hard to contain.
shuri laughs, and it sends shivers down your spine. the princess watches as the hairs on your arms stand. she was eye-fucking you, and you knew it. yet, it wasn't like you were exactly begging her to stop.
"we should go elsewhere makeya."
"and leave so soon?" shuri questions, making you scowl at her.
"not leaving entirely, just leaving the area."
"oh, y/n. don't be like that when i'm trying to know your future wife."
makeya giggles, not intuitive enough to see what's going on. how she is ignoring the tension between you and shuri is unbeknownst.
"i would love for you to get to know me! i know that you and y/n were close friends once, but she would never give any exact details!"
"oh?" shuri looks from makeya and back to you, "i have many details about y/n. such as one about the star tattoo on her lower hip. you see-"
"enough." you hiss out to the panther, grabbing her arm. "makeya, please excuse us."
you don't bother looking back to see your fiancée as you began dragging shuri out of the ballroom. some eyes fall onto the both of you as you push past the crowd. shuri had a wide smile on her face, knowing she got under your skin. your anger only grew when you realized this was her intention all along.
you don't even realize you feet are taking you to the lab until you reach the smart doors. perhaps it was muscle memory that this is where you decided to take her. if you were being honest, it only made you more angry.
"griot, open." you speak to the ai, assuming that shuri never deleted your voice activations. just as you thought, the doors opened without a second thought.
with your strength you pull her body in front of yours once you're alone in the room.
"what the hell are you doing?"
she scoffs, "that's a question i should be asking you. since when do you feel the need to not tell me you're getting married?"
"it's none of your concern who i am with. you are the the one shut me out! she let me in after you broke my heart."
"i'm assuming pretty easily too." shuri rolls her eyes.
you don't know what exactly you've done until you hear the sound of skin connecting, until you see shuri touching the red mark on her cheek, until you see how wide her eyes are. you don't even notice the tears in your eyes until you feel one rolling down your face. no apology for slapping her comes to your mouth. you can't find it within yourself to apologize. you were hurt by her. hell, you were still hurting because of her. she had lost her brother and you were sympathetic to that. why did she want to lose you as well? that part confused you deeply.
"how dare you?" you ask, your voice breaking. "how dare you start acting like you give a damn about me now? would you have even cared if i wasn't engaged?"
shuri stays silent, fingers still touching her own cheek.
"that's what i thought. you are jealous that i'm happy. you're upset i didn't stick around to put up with your bullshit."
"it is not bullshit. i was grieving."
"we were all grieving shuri, so i understand that. but are you really going to use that as your excuse for pushing me out and then never letting me back in? if so, it's a cheap fucking cop out."
"it was never my intention to fully push you out. i thought i was doing you a favor!"
now it was your turn to laugh, "a favor? you thought that me losing the love of my life would a favor?"
"love of your life?"
you grind your teeth, not wanting to answer that question. her eyes are searching for it, that much you can tell as she looks right through you. your lip trembles as you fight back more tears. this was not the conversation you wanted to have tonight.
"i got scared." shuri begins to say after realizing you weren't going to answer. "i got scared that i would lose you completely, like t'challa. i know you have certain rolls to uphold within the river tribe. i didn't know if i could be that woman for you anymore, living in constant fear that you'd be the one i'd lose next. you deserved to be happy, so i thought that was the only way. i didn't know that it would do the opposite of making you happy."
"you're selfish for not asking me about how i felt. all i ever did was ask how you were doing."
"i won't say that i'm not selfish. i am. i'm being selfish even now about wanting you all to myself. i pushed a lot of people out when my brother died, including my mother. i made amends with her but i never knew how to go about reconciliation with you. now it's too late. you have no idea how many nights i've laid awake sleepless wondering about you."
"then give me an idea." you say, staring deep into her eyes.
"when i realized just how much pushing i'd really done i knew i could never get you back. i had countless nightmares replaying our breakup in my mind. i thought that putting myself into my work would take my mind off of you but it only made it worse. my designs went back to being centered about you. my coworkers knew i was unable to focus on my work. i grew irritated with everything and everyone. i kept tabs on you, but obviously not well enough."
it hurt your heart to know this was how shuri was feeling. however, you knew deep down that you couldn't settle for this. would you have ever gotten this apology from her had you not been engaged?
"i'm telling you this now because i don't want you think i don't love you. i wasn't sure if i could find the courage to admit my mistakes until now." she says, as if she's heard your thoughts. your eyes can't help but go wide. this was the push that shuri desperately needed.
"what did you expect to get out of this?"
"do you love her?" she interjects, not even bothering to answer your question.
"fuck you, shuri."
"fine, then let me ask you this." she says, stepping close to you.
you just keep looking right at her, challenging her with your stance. the feeling of her breathing on your skin makes you shiver.
"who are you loyal to?" shuri asks, gazing into your eyes. she's searching for an answer that she knows she won't get.
"my country, my family, and my people. as every great leader is. you should know this better than anyone." you say back, glaring into her deep brown eyes. you knew she was testing you.
"ah, but not your soon to be wife."
"i am loyal to her especially."
shuri chuckles, "but here you are with me. you're a liar."
you cock your head, smiling at her, "she fucks good." you knew this was a lie. makeya had never even touched your boob without a bra over it.
"oh please," shuri rolls her eyes, "i saw the look on her face when i mentioned your tattoo. she didn't even know it existed."
you grind your teeth together. of course your fiancée didn't know you had that tattoo. you two hadn't actually gotten that intimate yet, knowing you weren't ready for something like that after shuri. even more ironic, it was a tattoo that shuri had given you herself after a drunken night. it was a panther paw. corny, you know. however, it signified that shuri laid her claim on you. which was highly efficient considering every time you stared at yourself in the mirror you would envision her behind you.
"yeah, nothing to say now." shuri says, now even closer to your body. your noses are almost touching and your chests can't help but smush up against each other. her hand makes its way to your face, caressing it softly. "that's cause you're loyal to your princess. not whoever that woman is. i know you're angry and i can't express how sorry i am. however, i will not let you marry her. i will go out there right now and tell them all that i'm marrying you if that is what it takes."
"do it then." you say, offering her a challenge that you don't know she'd actually take. you weren't thinking about how much it may hurt your supposed lover. you weren't thinking about how much it would hurt your mother and father. you knew how hurt you were by shuri, but she was the kind of drug that was the hardest to quit.
you can feel her free hand slipping off the engagement ring you sported on your finger. her eyes never break away from yours as she tries to read the emotion spreading across your face. for some reason, you can't make her stop from throwing your ring across the lab.
then she kisses you. it was nothing like you've ever experienced before. it was better than any first kiss you had with her. it was as if all this wanting built up to a point of no return as her hands found your hips. as she lifted you up onto the table she wasn't thinking about makeya. she was thinking about how you were hers and always would be. her panther powers kicked in as she gripped your thighs, trialing her kisses all the way down your neck.
she smiled in between kisses and sucking as she listened to the moans that escaped your mouth. they sounded like a symphony as they came one after the other. this was what you ached and dreamed for, and damn did it feel good.
"who are you loyal to?" shuri asks again, sounding breathless.
"you.." you moan out, trying to maintain your composure.
"good." shuri states, and then pulls away from you.
"where are you going?" you can't help but ask as you watch her walk towards the exit of the door.
"to tell them you're getting married."
"they already know that shuri!" you exclaim as you fix the straps on your dress and fix your hair she had begun to mess up.
"oh i know. but i am going to tell them you're marrying me instead."
shuri had officially lost it. you attempted to catch up with her as she moved through the halls, but her panther powers made her walk so much faster than you when she was trying. you pleaded with her to not do this, knowing the outcome. the elders would never allow it and you would crush makeya in the same sitting.
yet, you couldn't help but smile at the idea. shuri finally showing the effort you've always wanted from her. your heart ached for this and your dreams were becoming a reality in ways you could never imagine.
shuri was going to marry you, whether the elders approved or not.

shuriri drabble
A/n: i promises the shuriri girlies some content! I can’t tag rn but I will when I can, I also did not proof read this, Okoye is kind of a mother figure in this
Summary: shuri gives Okoye a run down of her and riri’s relationship.
@mal-urameshi @neptoons1998 @letitiaslabyrinth @anonassbjtch @naomis-daydream @sapphicsourcee @purochantaje444 @imjusthere2readbruv @inmyheadimdelusional @oceean
OKOYE eyes Shuri from across the lab. The queen has been awfully quiet these days. The country’s been plagued with horrible winds and storms in the past couple days.
She’s urged her employees and staff to stay home and rest up as she continues to work on her own projects in the lab.
It’s been nearly two years since the end of the War with Namor and his people and Okoye has watched Shuri grow in such a short amount of time. For quite a while, Shuri didn’t come to the palace, for three months to be exact. According to Nakia, Shuri spent two months in Haiti and the last month, she doesn’t know.
Okoye hasn’t asked because as much as she’d love to butt her head in Shuri’s affairs. She’s no longer a child and if she wanted Okoye to know, she would’ve told her. She’s also no longer a Dora but instead, remains in the village, helping different tribes and living simply.
But, Okoye has also noted how much quieter Shuri is, she still has her humor factor, she still smiles when possible but she’s noticeably quieter and more often than not, focused on a project or training.
Of course, Grief changes a person but in Okoye’s eyes, Shuri’s handling things better than she ever thought she would. She’s also noticed that during Shuri’s flights to the states, she spends just a little more time than she should there or leaves immediately after a meeting.
Shuri pauses in her work, briefly looking down at her tablet. She’s felt Okoye’s eyes her for quite some time, perhaps it’s her outfit. She didn’t expect any visitors so she only threw on a black hoodie and some sweats to match that Okoye’s never seen in her wardrobe.
“Do you not like the sweats or something?” Shuri questions as she resumes tapping away on her screen.
“Mhm…no, It suits you well,” Okoye mutters, running a hand down her own shoulders to ease the cold in the lab. She’s always hated how cold it is.
“Sit,” Shuri offers as a chair materializes right beneath the former-Dora. She reaches for a wakandan cloth, designed from the Jabari tribe with fur that she’s modified to remain at certain temperatures.
“Wrap this around you,” Shuri murmurs as Okoye does as told, crossing her legs as well.
“Shuri,” Okoye calls as Shuri lowers her tablet and gives her, her attention. It almost shocks the former warrior, Shuri has always been sucked into her work, never taking breaks and never truly paying any mind if someone speaks to her.
“Yes?” She asks, leaning back against one of the metal tables.
“How have you been?” Okoye asks, earning a sheepish smirk.
“I’ve been fine, Okoye, What’s with the sudden question?” Shuri wonders as she takes a seat in front of the woman. Okoye thinks about a response and just decides to be truthful. No beating around the bush or whatever the Americans say.
“You’re handling everything better than I honestly expected, You’re healing better than I expected you to, You’re handling the throne better than you’re brother did after your father’s death and I’m happy for you, I am, I’m just wondering how,” Okoye says. Doing her best to keep it short but there’s so much that she has to ask.
“You’re right, Yes…I suppose so,” Shuri shrugs. She knows that answer won’t satisfy Okoye so she continues to speak.
“I’ve had help, M’Baku’s helpful, he takes the council meetings when I need him to, Ayo’s a great general, they’re making it easier for me, my brother didn’t have that chance,” Shuri says, if there’s one thing that both siblings have in common, it’s their stubbornness.
Okoye remembers late nights of Nakia venting to her about how T’Challa won’t let her help but eventually she forced him to let her. She also forced him to ask Shuri to lead to lab.
But even with all that help, He still had to grieve his father.
“I understand, I’m glad that you’re doing well, I just didn’t expect you to handle it as well as you are,” Okoye smiles.
“If you want me to be honest, I was sad for a very long time, I just didn’t talk to anyone here about it,” Shuri admits. With all the counseling the Palace offers, she didn’t go to not single one. Okoye knows, She’s had to have somewhere to go, someone to tell.
“I can imagine, I just hope it’s someone who you trust and that the Palace trusts,” Okoye warns, receiving a nod. She watches Shuri lean back and rest her elbows on the table behind her.
The silence is deafening after and Okoye can tell by that stupid smirk on Shuri’s face that there’s more to it.
“What is it?” Okoye asks, her eyebrows knitting together as she watches Shuri let out a little laugh.
“Nothing, oh…I can tell you want to know who the person is,”
“That is none of my business…”
“Okay-“
“Who is it?”
“Riri,”
“The scientist?”
Shuri laughs at Okoye’s shock. She hasn’t heard Shuri mention the woman not once since she left. But it makes so much sense. She stays in America longer than she should, she smiles more often, it all makes sense.
“Are you two close friends?” Okoye wonders, she teased Shuri about having a little crush on the scientist. Especially with how willing she was to protect her and how bad she said she regretted not having said yes to the basketball game. But Shuri always denied it so Okoye left it there.
“Yeah, You could say that,” Shuri agrees as she looks down at her tablet, trying to hide the little smirk on her face.
“Bast- are you two together? Are you attempting to court her? How long has this been going on?” Okoye gasps, her eyes nearly bulging out of her eyes.
“Yes. Eventually, when we’re both ready and about a year and a hundred-twenty two days to be exact,” Shuri shrugs and she doesn’t register Okoye reaching for her to pinch her arm until she feels the slight pain.
“What was that for!” Shuri yells.
“Why didn’t you tell me if this sooner?”
“Okoye-“
“No excuses-“
“You’re the first and only to know. I haven’t told anyone,” Shuri admits and Okoye rolls her eyes at her before tightening The cloth around her arms.
“I’m serious, Okoye, You’re the only one to know, I haven’t told anyone,” Shuri says and Okoye waits for a laugh, a chuckle. Something to prove that she’s lying. She’s shocked that Shuri has done so well at hiding it.
“Really?” Okoye asks with raises brows.
“No.”
“Why? Why haven’t you told anyone? You usually can’t stop running that big mouth of yours,”
“Alright, not too much-“
“Is that American Lingo?”
“Okoye…” Shuri sighs as she pinches the bridge of her nose.
“Mhm, go ahead, I want a full rundown, Everything, I want no details missed,”
“Are you sure because there’s one time and I was in her dorm room and she did this one thing-“
“Don’t be nasty Shuri..”
There’s a brief moment of silence and Okoye urges Shuri to continue, ignoring the sly smirk on the royals face. The warrior tells her about the bulls game and how she showed up at Riri’s dorm room with tickets, two months after Riri made the offer.
She tells Okoye about the way Riri looked that day, her smile, the way she had slicked her hair back, the outfit that she called lazy because it was thrown together last minute and her very pretty earrings that Shuri had noticed.
“Get to the point,” Okoye scolds, getting impatient.
Then Shuri explained her once a month visits and she truly didn’t have romantic intentions at first, not for a while. She’d often pay for Riri’s books and anything she indulged in. A pair of shoes, some tech she’s been wanting. And in return Riri made her some new inventions, they weren’t made of vibranium or used for battle but Shuri always appreciated them. Riri also took her out often, every single time Shuri came to visit, she was introduced to a new hotspot in Boston . She told Okoye about the first time they shared a kiss and it was at a club by MIT.
“You got drunk? Seriously?” Okoye asks deadpanned.
“That’s not the point,” Shuri groans. And she remembers she and Riri not bringing it up because it wasn’t supposed to be a thing. But neither of them could take it off their minds.
Then Shuri came to visit her again and had found Riri at another party. At this point it had been six months since Riri’s first visit to Wakanda.
“Oh here we go. This generation and their parties…”
“Mamela Kum, Okoye, let me finish this!”
Shuri carried on with her story. She had just finished a mission and the only person on her mind was Riri. All she wanted to do was see her, so she did exactly that, only in black training gear which had been a tight compressed shirt and baggy cargo pants to match.
Riri was shocked when she saw her too, luckily her friends weren’t anywhere nearby. But Shuri remembers the purple LED LIGHTS, and the smell of beer in the air but not a single touch of it on Riri’s lips when she kissed her.
“So you kissed her at a house party-“
“Okoye.”
“My apologies.”
Riri had thought that after that, they’d date but Shuri wanted her to wait a week. She wanted her to wait so she could take Riri on a proper date and ask her out correctly. So she did exactly that, a week later, she took her out to eat, it was fun, lighthearted and so nerdy that she’s sure if it was someone but Riri they’d be bored.
Shuri remembers the night like the back of her hand, the perfume that Riri wore and the long-sleeved body-con dress she had on. Oh and those faux locs she got, it had to have been one of Shuri’s favorite hairstyles on her.
“I’m glad you did it properly.” Okoye scoffs.
“So am I, But I’m not done..:you asked for a full explanation, yes?”
“Mhm-mhm.”
Shuri tells her about how she visits on a monthly basis, about how Riri doesn’t realized how much she’s changed and not in a selfish way, in probably the best way possible. She tells her about how Nakia and Touissant are familiar with Riri too. How Shuri’s already met the engineer’s family and sister.
“So, Nakia is the first to know?” Okoye retorts, clearly offended.
“You’re the first to know here, Okoye,” Shuri says, grinning ear to ear by the end of explaining her great big love story.
“Good…does she treat you right?” Okoye asks with a raised brow. The stupid sick smile on Shuri’s face gives her enough information.
“As long as you do the same, That’s all I care about,” Okoye shrugs as she stands up, securing the blanket around her shoulders. Shuri stares at her puzzled.
“Where are you going?” The Queen questions.
“To MIT, I want to see her…scare her.” Okoye shrugs as she walks towards the elevator. Shuri follows, remembering the way Riri freaked when Okoye first barged into her dorm.
“As queen, I forbid-“
“Ah—-good thing I’m no longer a Dora, tell your girlfriend, I’ll be visiting her soon.” Okoye grins menacingly as the elevator doors close.
…
2 Weeks later.
Shuri groans as she lifts her head up from her pillow. It’s 9: 57 in the morning and it’s a Sunday and a very rare day to rest. She checks her phone just to see a bunch of notifications. 14 to be exact.

The last is the longest thing she thinks Riri has ever sent her, telling her that she’s the best thing that’s ever happened to her and that she loves her and the time on this planet wasn’t enough. As bad as Shuri feels she can’t help but laugh so she finally rings Riri up only to hear heavy breathing on the other end.
“Yo, I swear- if I don’t make it out of here, don’t give my fucking money to my uncle Micheal, he’s a dick, give it to my mom, don’t give my Jordan’s away-“
“Riri…if this was a real scenario of life or death, why are you giving me a will?”
She hears Riri’s gauntlet charging and whirring. She doesn’t want Okoye to get hurt either.
“Never mind, my love, don’t worry, it’s just Okoye, she’s scaring you.”
“Word?”
The gauntlet shuts down and Shuri hears Okoye’s laughter in the back.
“Man, ain’t shit funny-“
“Who are you speaking to small girl?”
The gauntlet charges up again.
“Who am I lookin’ at? You demonic h-“
The line goes out and Shuri settles back into bed, getting comfortable as she slips her bonnet back on.
She’ll receive stories in the hours to come but until then she’ll be catching up on her beauty sleep.

Bodyguard shuri x reader ! It’s been on my mind for saurrr long
yess! i love this idea so muchhh. wasn't sure if you wanted it to be like a fame au or anything so i just went for it in my own way :) it's kind of just a tiny imagine, hope that's okay!
princess protection ☆ | bodyguard!shuri x fem!reader
when you begged your mom to lessen your security you never imagined she'd actually do it. even more shocking, to replace them all she brings in your nation's protector. shuri, the black panther, is now in charge of making sure you were safe and protected. maybe in more than one way.
warnings : none
word count : 2.1k+
being the princess of a nation was no small task. you were constantly attending political meetings, beautiful galas, and even doing community service for those around you. you loved being out and about, rather than confined to the palace.
your mother, the queen, often feared for your safety. of course you had quite the entourage of guard ready to protect you wherever you went. you had people trailing you with weapons ever since you were fresh out of the womb. it never scared you, but you never exactly cared for it. it made you stand out even though you loved to be the star in the room. you begged and begged your mother after your eighteenth birthday to lower the amount of guards trailing you. you realized it made you still feel trapped despite being out in the open. besides, wakanda was extremely safe other than the occasional invasion, which was swiftly put to rest by your nation's protector. the black panther.
she constantly refused, saying that you were the future leader of the nation and needed to be protected adequately. you quickly gave up hope and moped around the palace for a solid year or two before your mother finally caved in.
"mother? what was the urgent call about on my kimoyo beads?" you ask her as you step into the throne room. she had her back to you, obviously speaking to somebody else.
"ah, y/n! i have a surprise for you." she quickly turns around, still shielding whoever she had been speaking to. you attempt to look around your mother. she notices this, and steps aside.
your eyes widen when you see the black panther standing before you. her helmet was off, allowing you to see her face. you hardly ever saw shuri without the mask. she was always on missions or you were always out of the palace when she had been home in the lab. your paths never found a way to cross despite running in the same social circles. it had to have been at least an entire year since you were in her presence, considering she had been on a major mission.
"princess." she says, a charming smile spreading across her face.
"um, hi." you say, feeling your mouth go wide. she had gotten much more attractive since the last time you saw her up close. you two were close in age, so it wasn't like this crush you had was new. when you were younger you spent a decent amount of time together, but were never close.
"shuri's missions as the black panther have become less and less high priority. she's doing an amazing job so i'm assigning some of her more easy missions to the dora. while she truly deserves a couple days off, i've decided she will be your personal bodyguard until she is needed. she will be your only bodyguard may i add."
no way.
shuri laughs, "oh trust me, this is will be a good enough vacation for me. after all, i'm sure the princess can't get into too much trouble."
"you underestimate me." you say, with a challenge in your voice.
"noted." she responds back, willing to accept your challenge.
the tension between you two is so thick that not even a vibranium spear could cut through it. shuri kept her eyes squinted as she looked at you, as if she was studying you. to tell the truth, she had been quite excited about this mission. spending time with the princess would be a dream, she thought. also, she presumed it would be fairly easy as well.
you looked at her in the same way, but you were more undressing her with your eyes.
"y/n, do you still need to visit the market today? i know you said something about stopping for some new silks."
your eyes are ripped away from shuri, "oh, yes! thank you mother. shuri, i'll give you time to change out of your suit and then i can take you for a test drive."
shuri laughs, "no need." she presses something on her suit near her wrist. causing the suit to dissipate into a necklace. she wore a tight gray outfit underneath the suit. you couldn't help but feel like an idiot thinking about how she might've been in just her underwear under the suit. "i'm ready whenever you are, princess."
you smirk, walking away from her. you don't bother looking back to see if she's following you. her quick footsteps gave it away. it also helped that she was taller than you, her shadow looming slightly over your body.
"you do know that you don't have to loom over behind me, right?" you say as you look through the many silks at the stall.
"where else am i meant to stand?"
"how about next to me? i don't think i'd kill you."
she scoffs, "you couldn't kill me even if you tried."
a smile spreads across your face, "cocky."
she moves over to the side of you, causing your hands to brush slightly. you contemplate whether or not you want to meet her eyes for a second. ultimately your curiosity gets the better of you. when you look up you see her staring back at you. her eyes were dark brown, but you could see a sparkle in them. you could now also clearly see the tiny scar on her forehead that her hair almost nearly hid.
when she looked at you she noticed how beautiful your own eyes had been when exposed in the sunlight. she studied every beauty mark on your face that the pictures never quite captured. shuri obviously knew you were beautiful, but now that you were up close after all this time it had been impossible to deny your beauty. she had a task to complete though, meaning finding your beauty too blinding would be dangerous. if she was too consumed by you, lost in your chocolate river eyes, she couldn't focus on the task at hand.
"do you like this one?" you ask, picking up a random silk without breaking eye contact. you didn't want to look away from her.
shuri's eyes glance away from you for a second, "i think orange is a beautiful color for you, princess."
you wanted so badly to be a smart ass and tell her you had a name. however, hearing the word princess roll of her tongue did something dangerous to you.
"princess?" a voice calls out to you from the sea of people.
you had never seen someone move so quickly the way that shuri did as she got in front of you. the two of you didn't even know who the supposed threat was, but shuri couldn't help but go into her defense stance.
"princess! hello!" a woman makes her way out of the crowd. you recognize her as the caretaker of the orphanage you often help out at.
"stand down shuri, it's okay." you say, putting a hand on her arm to get her to relax. she looks over her shoulder back at you, giving a swift nod. her body moves back beside you just as fast as it had gotten in front of your own.
"hello mrs. adabashi! how are all the children doing?"
she smiles, "oh, they are just wonderful! they so enjoy the toys you brought for them last week. little kami has not put down the dolls since you handed them to her."
shuri can't help but admire the conversation as you both talk to one another about the children. shuri was not exactly sure what to expect when your mother asked her to watch over you. it had been quite some time since shuri saw you last and she didn't know your personality that well. now she knew that she had made the right choice in choosing to accept the queen's offer.
the whole rest of the time at the market was spent with you in conversation with shuri. you asked her constantly what life was like as wakanda's protector. you even managed to slip in a question about if she had anyone important in her life at the moment. she found that question amusing and answered truthfully, with a swift no. she claimed that she didn't have any time in her strict schedule to fall into any romances. you figured that if she was spending all her time with you, then it wouldn't matter. you had your eyes on her now, and you almost never got turned down.
the more time you spent with her the more you didn't want the day to end. it made you happy to know that every day would be like this. that was, until she was called back to her panther duties. you assumed that if you ever did get caught in a sneaky relationship with the black panther that your mother wouldn't mind. you could arguably do worse. plus, the nation's princess and protector in a relationship together would do wonders for the people's morale.
"you know you don't have to go, right?" you ask her as you both approach the door to your bedroom.
shuri laughs, "am i supposed to guard you while you sleep?"
"i don't plan on sleeping yet. as long as i'm awake i feel as if you should be on guard."
"who do you think plans on attacking you tonight?"
you look up to her, staring into her eyes. "i'm inviting you into my room and here you are questioning me. will you really deny your princess?"
shuri sucks on her teeth as she looks around the hallway, that same charming smile on her face.
"i can't believe you are pulling the princess card on me right now."
"well, is it working, my panther?"
the nickname being used in such a manner sent goosebumps down shuri's spine. she was meant to keep a professional relationship with you. bast knows that the queen would have her powers stripped if she were to hurt her precious baby. she was meant to protect you from the world, not entertain you romantically. however, she licks her lips as she contemplates the enticing question.
"if you really feel you need my protection."
"badly." you whisper out to her.
"fuck it," shuri says, "whatever you say, princess."
you just smile, knowing you have the most dangerous person in wakanda wrapped around your finger. you push the door open, revealing your room to her. it was large and the windows allowed you to see all of the capitol. even shuri was shocked by its beauty, despite living here all her life. for some reason it seemed so much more special from inside of your bedroom.
"do you like being my personal bodyguard?"
shuri watches you as you go to your walk in closet. she can hear you changing as the sound of clothes being thrown around fills her ears. it takes everything in her to not look.
"i can't say it's the worst job in the world."
"and why is that?"
"something tells me you already know the answer to that."
you walk out of your room wearing a large t-shirt that shuri can tell is american vintage. she could also tell you weren't wearing any shorts when you lifted your curly hair up into a messy bun. shuri can't help but stare as you walk over to your bed. it was nice to see you in a normal state, without all the jewels and fancy clothes. however, it wasn't just that. the way you moved commanded attention and it radiated elegance.
"come here." you beckon to her. it was as if she didn't ave a mind of her own as she followed your command. it made you feel in control, and it was pretty damn amazing. "sit down."
"you are very bossy."
"it is in my nature. i am the future queen after all."
shuri laughs, "that's true. i think you'll make a great one."
the compliment makes you smile, "so you'll remain as my personal bodyguard even when i am queen?"
"of course, i serve wakanda and those in it. that includes you."
"i'm sure there are other ways that you can serve me."
her eyebrow raises, "oh really?"
you nod your head, looking at her with lust in your eyes.
shuri suddenly grabs you and sets you onto her lap. it feels so normal as you straddle her, arms around her neck. you felt like you were the perfect piece to her puzzle. she notices how you arch your back in efforts to feel closer to her.
"so, this is your idea of protection?" you can't help but ask.
"do you feel protected?"
"in the arms of the black panther? oh, most definitely."
you kiss her, allowing yourself to fully envelop yourself into her. her lips feel soft as they glide against yours. if this is what having shuri as your bodyguard was like, then you never wanted it to end.

soul ties ☆ | shuri x fem!reader
love at first sight was something everyone believed in. for wakandans, it was something entirely different. it was the belief that bast had created lines to connect each human to their perfect fit. shuri believed that you were the end of that line for her.
warnings : some fighting mentioned, mature themes, and cursing.
word count : 6.2k+
note : i would play the song right when the word "she" is highlighted. :) also this is the largest fic i've ever written so yayyy
song : un-thinkable (i'm ready) by alicia keys ft. drake
"shuri?" a voice peeks through shuri's daydreaming. when the princess looks slightly down to her left she sees riri speaking to her.
"are you even paying attention to the tour?"
"yes, of course i am." shuri says in a tone that sounds almost as if she were offended that riri would even ask such a question. even though she did in fact have her attention elsewhere.
"don't front. what do you see that's so important?"
riri follows shuri's eyesight across the quad, until it lands on you. her face lights up and her eyes widen.
of course. she thinks as she watches you in a world entirely of your own. your airpod maxes had been on and you were stuck in a studying session. your braided hair was tied back into a long ponytail, keeping the strands from falling in your face. riri could see even from afar that you were wearing very little makeup. your natural face was the one she preferred, and it was one shuri quickly grew attached to. you were in spandex shorts and a red hoodie that proudly repped MIT in white lettering.
"no."
shuri looks back over to riri, "what?"
"i said no. you're not going to get anywhere with her. no one has. not even i could crack that code." riri mumbles out, clearly butthurt.
"so, i'm hearing that you two know each other."
riri rolls her eyes, "yeah, we're friends. i tutored her last year."
"will you introduce me?"
"no."
"the dean said meeting fellow students would be a good idea. y'know, so i can be more accustomed."
"the dean ain't here though, is she?"
"oh don't be like that."
riri grumbles. she assumes that it can't hurt to introduce the two of you. it's not like any of the other generational wealth kids impressed you. however, a princess with panther powers just might do the trick.
"fine. you get five minutes."
shuri smiles and begins making her way towards you. with every step she noticed how much more beautiful you got. she also happened to notice how her heart would be tugged on, as if being pulled along on a string by you. you reminded her of the beauty she found in wakanda. with your rich skin and dark brown eyes, she couldn't help but notice you.
shadows of figures fall over your textbooks as you were reading over a line about quantum physics. annoyance began to bubble up, considering you had to have all of this material memorized by tomorrow afternoon for a test.
your eyes raise to meet the people causing the shadows, ready to ask them exactly what it was that they needed. that is, until you see riri, and a face you've only ever known in the news. your hands quickly find their way to your headphones, slipping them around your neck.
"hey y/n." riri says so casually that it shocks you. did she not know who was standing right beside her?
"uh, hey riri."
riri does her silly smile that she does every time you say her name. you knew she was utterly smitten with you, but you also knew that your friendship to her mattered more than anything.
"hi y/n." shuri says with a sultry wakandan accent. riri knew that wasn't how she usually talked, all sexy like that. a swift elbow was placed into shuri's side. due to her panther powers she could barely feel it.
"are you who i think you are?" you can't help but ask, struggling to pick your jaw up from the floor. shuri was someone you would say you looked up to. politics was something you were extremely interested in and watching her on tv speak about wakanda inspired you deeply. you wished so badly to visit wakanda since they opened up their borders, but their policy on foreigners remained the same. they were not to enter unless absolutely necessary. riri was only granted access because of her and shuri's close friendship, that riri never thought to mention until now.
she laughs, which makes your eyes light up. riri notices and figures it's just because you're starstruck. that's what you assume too, but it doesn't feel like that.
"yeah, this is the princess of wakanda, shuri." riri says as she rolls her dark brown eyes, "enough about her though," she slides next to you on the bench. "what are you studying?"
"i'm trying to study quantum physics right now. which is proving to be practically impossible." you say with a heavy sigh. at this rate you were doomed.
"oh, that's real easy baby. i can help you with it later tonight if you want." riri says as her eyes rake over the material in the book.
"very funny riri."
"no, i'm serious. i'm holding a little study session later for shuri to meet some friends. i know you don't hang out with my crew all like that but you're welcome to join."
the invite is enticing.
"i happen to know a decent amount of quantum physics myself." shuri says with a charming smile, "i can help you if you need it."
now the invite seems even more enticing.
"i mean, i guess. as long as we actually study. last time you had a 'study session' we all ended up high."
riri puts her arm around your shoulder, "yeah, but you passed that test the next morning, didn't you?"
a smile can't help but make its way across your face, "yeah, that's true."
"mhm, i thought so."
"shouldn't you be off giving the princess a tour?"
"shuri." the wakandan says.
"hm?" you ask, your eyes torn away from riri.
"you can just call me shuri." she says, "no need for formalities."
"oh, okay. shuri." you say, testing how her name sounds against your tongue. it feels natural and comfortable. shuri would be lying if she said her heart didn't flutter.
riri's eyes shift back and forth as they watch you and shuri.
"ookayyy. yeah, it's time for us to go shuri." riri speaks as she gets up from her spot next to you. she walks back over to shuri, who is still gazing at you. "see you later y/n."
"bye girls." you say as you watch them walk away. riri is saying something to shuri with a weird look on her face, but you can't tell what it is. you're just surprised you kept your cool in shuri's company.
then almost as if by clockwork, your phone begins to ring. you stare at the name on the screen and a sigh leaves you. of course he's calling.
"y/n is here!" riri shouts to the rest of the guests in the room. the couch had been filled with the couple guests riri had waiting in her living room. you thought this was going to be a small gathering, which granted it was. six people, including yourself, wasn't even all that bad. you just felt like you weren't going to actually study tonight after seeing them all. also, you were the only one with a school book in your hand. you weren't surprised to see a few people you knew, with the exception of one girl who had been in the kitchen with shuri.
you set the book onto the table as you take a seat on a beanbag. you notice the girl you're unfamiliar with is hanging onto shuri in the kitchen, keeping her preoccupied with conversation. however, when she feels a gaze lingering on her she's not shocked to see that it's yours. despite how fast you looked away, she knew you were staring.
"you want a hit?" a girl you recognize as karly says before extending her arm out to you. you can't help but look at riri, who just shrugs at you.
"sure." it can't hurt to relax if everyone else was. besides, this might be exactly what you needed. if you took a break from studying maybe you'd do better on the test type deal.
you take a hit of the blunt, making sure to show off how much experience you have with one. it felt good as it scratched the back of your throat. it took you some time to get used to the feeling. now you could successfully take in large amounts without coughing your guts out.
"we got a pro over there." riri says with a smirk on her face. she moves closer to you and sits on the floor. you pass her the blunt and she takes a hit equivalent to yours.
"with the amount of times you persuade me to smoke with you i should be a pro by now."
she laughs at your remark and passes the blunt onto someone else.
shuri makes her way into the room after watching the conversation for a while. you could tell from her eyes that she had already had the blunt a couple times. you wondered how she looked as she smoked. she takes a spot on a chair opposite of the beanbag.
"ri, so you ain't gonna update us on you and justice? i saw you sneak back into the apartments with her. it's almost like you forget that just because you stay in the bougie ass campus apartments means we can't spy on you."
"she not important."
"mhm, not like how y/n is."
riri narrows her eyes at her friends.
you laugh though, the weed taking your edge off. "i don't think my boyfriend would like that very much."
the whole room's eyes are now on you. your smile slowly dissipates from your face and your eyes go wide when you realize what you've said.
"boyfriend? since when the fuck do you have a boyfriend?" riri asks, a bit hurt that you never bothered to tell her this information.
"since my senior year of high school. he goes to a different school out of state." you say this so matter of factly. you weren't lying, you did have a boyfriend. he did also attend an out of state school. he was studying computer engineering. he was pissed when he didn't get into MIT and you did. he viewed it as an insult to his intelligence. that should've been one of your first of many red flags. you two talked at max five times a day. any more than that would just be a headache. two busy schedules don't mix well, especially when sometimes you're filling up your schedule just to make sure you had a solid excuse for missed calls.
"you didn't think that was important to tell us? no wonder someone hasn't been walking on campus bragging about how they nailed you." jacari says, a mutual friends of your's and riri's.
"lay off, at least she's faithful." karly says, staring daggers at him.
"i mean, you guys don't really ask me about my romantic life because you assumed there wasn't one."
"is there one? if he's out of state i'm sure that's hard to deal with." shuri can't help but say. the entire room turns to look at her, surprised she's asked such a question like that. she barely knew you. the one fact that she now did know about you was that you had a boyfriend that you didn't like to bring up. that was something she wasn't hoping to learn at all.
"yes, i have a very happy relationship with him." you say, knowing it's a lie. why are you lying? are you still trying to convince yourself? just today when he called you as you studied you argued with him. he wanted to stay where he was at for spring break and you wanted him to come visit you. it was months away, but you had to plan these things in advance with him. he never came to see you anymore. just this past christmas he lied saying he couldn't get out of his internship, but instead he was at his mother's house opening presents as she asked where you were.
you should have broken up with him by now. however, he was comfortable for you. did you really have the time to get to know someone entirely new? did you want to relearn someone's favorite color, zodiac sign, dreams, and goals? granted, there were plenty of choices in front of you that you already knew. such as riri, who you could see yourself being with. however, you prized her friendship so much more.
"that was intrusive, forgive me." shuri apologizes. her thick accent making your skin crawl.
"it's okay.." you mutter out.
"what's his name?" she asks, desperate to get any more information out of you. really, she just likes to hear your voice.
"monty." you say, his nickname rolling so easily off of your tongue, "i mean, his real name is montell. i call him monty."
"he sounds nerdy as fuck." riri can't help but say out of her own saltiness.
"i mean, he is."
"oh my god, so when was the last time you had an orgasm?" the mystery girl can't help but ask.
now this was a question shuri was interested in.
"i don't know. the beginning of this past summer." you wouldn't dare tell them that it had been one you pulled out of yourself.
"sis, you're kidding." jacari says, shocked at how long it had been. "y'all don't have phone sex?"
not even once.
"nah, it just never comes up for us." you try to say in a nonchalant manner, as if it doesn't bother you how you don't get turned on for him anymore. as if you ever did.
"that sounds miserable."
"it is." you can't lie as you laugh, "i've been itching to have sex for a while now. guess it'll just have to wait."
"whew, you're better than i am. i would've fucked half the campus by now if i were you." jacari continues on before taking a hit.
the conversation ends abruptly when riri's roommate comes out of her room and towards you.
"i need my beanbag please." she says, standing right over you. "i'm about to start studying and i'd rather not do it on my bed."
it takes a second to realize what she's saying to you through your high.
"yeah, of course." you say as you get up, pulling the chair from beside you and handing it to her.
"thanks." she says kindly, and then glares at riri. she goes back into her room, leaving you to stand.
"that bitch is always tripping. she didn't need her damn chair. she's just mad i have people over." riri says as she glares towards the door.
shuri notices you're standing and her mouth begins to speak before she can stop herself.
"do you want to sit in my lap? it's probably more comfortable than the floor." shuri offers up, everyone looking at her with wide eyes. it was a bold move that she was practically flirting with you despite finding out you have a boyfriend. also, after insulting the said relationship between the two of you.
of course, you didn't pick up on how charged that question really was. you were naturally oblivious to that stuff.
"yeah, okay. thanks." you say as you sit on her lap, or more specifically her knee. your spandex shorts made it so that practically every inch of your exposed skin was touching with hers, considering she had on shorts as well. you could tell they were riri's.
maybe it was the weed, or maybe it was the lack of sexual release. all you knew was that it felt damn good to have yourself pressed up against her knee. it was like she was teasing you, without even having to do it on purpose. you felt embarrassed as you felt yourself pulse from the closeness and how wonderful it felt. you attempted to get up, scared that she might know how you were feeling. however, her arm quickly found its way around your waist as she held you down onto her lap. your skin covered itself with goosebumps from the dominating grab. it was hard to act like you were interested in whatever conversation riri and her friends had been having with one another. shuri, on the other hand, had no problem continuing in the conversation as she felt how warm you were.
really shuri had not noticed just how bold her movements were. she had this want to protect you, as if you were hers. she wondered if it was because of her panther powers. however, she also wondered if it was something more. the reality that you had a boyfriend kept her from doing anything unwanted. she didn't know the way you felt towards her, if you had any feelings at all. if she couldn't get to know you in a romantic way then a friendly manner would have to do. even if she would ache for something more despite just meeting you this afternoon. shuri recalled a moment with her brother earlier in her life that left her thinking for the rest of the day after meeting you.
"when did you know nakia was the one for you, brother?"
he chuckles, "when i saw her."
shuri couldn't believe it, "what kind of hopeless romantic answer is that?"
"exactly what i just said. bast created soul ties underneath the rich vibranium soils that our eyes are unable to see. even us panthers can not view where the lines lead us. however, we can see when they have reached their destination. when you see that person, you just know that this is where your line ends. you know that bast made you for one another. you also know that you no longer need to search for that line."
"is there a chance that bast would forget to create a line for me? or at least, in the same way she created nakia's to you?" shuri began to wonder, scared because when she was young she didn't know where her sexuality laid.
"oh sweet little sister," he sighs, "bast would never forget to make you a person. after all, your annoying tendencies were made for someone to love."
"ugh, you suck!" shuri says, a wide smile on her face as she playfully hits her brother. he just smiles in return.
shuri believed that she saw the soul tie that connected to you. an american girl who she had never seen before. her brother was gone, but he was right.
your phone that is sitting in your lap starts to buzz, interrupting your train of thought as you attempt to uphold your composure and try not to seem too high. you squint your eyes at the bright screen.
"hi monty." you answer the phone, buzzed enough to sound happy that he's called. shuri watches the phone out of the corner of her eye. she's too curious to see what her competition looks like. he's sun kissed and has a buzz cut. he looked just as nerdy as his name sounded.
"where are you at?" he asks, not greeting her back.
"i'm at riri's."
shuri watches as his face turns into one of disgust. "i thought i told you to stop going over there. all she ever does is get you high."
riri is far too buzzed and in her own world to realize what he's said. shuri heard it though, and furrowed her brows.
"getting high is my own choice, monty. i know you get high with your frat bros in north carolina."
"it's different."
no it isn't.
"wait a minute, are you sitting on some other dude's lap?" he asks, as all he can see is shuri's curly hair.
"no, this is shuri. like the princess of wakanda shuri." you whisper that last part into the phone. it shows just how truly geeked you are.
"you're lying. that's a fucking dude."
before you can say anything, shuri takes the phone from you and puts it on her own face. you watch as monty's face goes wide and for once he has nothing to say.
"hello montell."
"oh, um. i-i'm sorry, princess." monty is scrambling to find the words and shuri can tell he wants to hang up. he always hated to be embarrassed. being embarrassed by royalty was the lowest it could get.
you take the phone back before he gets the chance to hang up, "wait, monty, what were you calling for?"
"well, i thought about what you were saying earlier. i'll come home for spring break. i miss you baby."
his voice sounded so insincere and shuri cringed at it. this was the man who got to claim you as his own? you had a beauty unrivaled and here you were wasting it on some man who couldn't even seem excited about seeing you. she felt offended for you, even though you were use to this by now.
"really? what made you change your mind?"
"i don't know. i guess i'll see you over break though. we can talk more about this at another time."
you knew what he meant by this.
"i'm not out partying, monty."
"you are. at least be a responsible adult and get up for your classes tomorrow. bye."
"bye." you say back, unwilling to fight.
when he hangs the phone up you realize the everyone is looking at you. your face heats up from noticing that everyone probably witnessed that entire exchange. of course they caught him on a night where he was being a dick. it was pretty much every night, so this did make your case to defend him a little harder. you didn't want to get up from shuri's knee considering it felt so nice up against you. however, you also didn't want to hear any comments from the gallery.
"i'm going to go home." you say, pulling yourself into sobriety after that conversation. "hope you all have a good night."
shuri lets you up from her lap. she feels bad you're walking home but it's not like you've never done it before. the heat you resonated leaves her feeling cold when you stand away from her. everything inside of her is screaming for her to grab you back into her arms and keep you there. a part of you wanted that too, but it was unrecognizable.
riri hands you the physics book on the table. "get home safe, y/n."
"i always do."
you got home safe that night. you also searched for an orgasm multiple times that night as you recalled how good you felt against her. you replicated her knee with a pillow and held on tight to yourself with your free hand. you tried so desperately to think of monty as you rocked against it. however, nothing worked. all you could do was imagine your head placed in the crook of the princess's neck, smelling her enticing cologne. you could hear her wakandan accent telling you how good you were doing and how badly she craved you. they were all words that monty could never say to you. they were words you searched so bad for because you ached for her praise. only when you moaned out her name as you finished made you so self aware to what you had been doing. this made you dig your head into your pillow, still heaving from the high.
what you did weighed heavy on your conscience. especially when you had been practically spending every day with shuri. she was basically attached to your hip. she joined your study sessions, she came with you to try american cuisine, her favorite being wingstop for some strange reason, and she even waited for you after every class. she was your best friend, making riri fall into second place.
at one point a rumor had been going around campus that the two of you were in a relationship, despite the fact you had a boyfriend. after all, who could deny a princess of the most powerful and advanced nation in the world? you could deny her as much as you wanted. however, you knew deep down that you couldn't do it for long. you didn't know how much longer you'd keep stringing monty and yourself along. commitment was something you were scared of. commitment to a future leader of a nation was something entirely different. what if you had decided to dump monty for a potential happy relationship with shuri? what would happen if it ended? you'd rather not think of all the possibilities, instead you preferred self sabotage. you appreciated shuri so dearly, in the a.m. and in the p.m. when you would finish to thoughts of her. whether it be how she played with your hair when she got bored, how she laughed so sweetly at your jokes, or how she constantly had her hand in yours or on your waist. you knew friends didn't do that. you knew that she also knew that.
the more time you spent with shuri meant the more time you spent ignoring monty. he saw paparazzi pictures that his friends would show him of the two of you together. he felt some type of way of course, blowing up your phone with "she might as well be your boyfriend the way she's touching on you." your only response being a swift "okay" and an "i'm sorry." you weren't sure how else to respond to him, knowing that you were cheating emotionally and even somewhat physically. you imagined that monty couldn't have stayed loyal to you with the lying he did. so what did it matter if you told a couple white lies too?
you didn't even realize that at one point whenever you brought him up you'd start referring to him again as his birth name, montell.
"montell?" you can't help but ask in surprise as you open the door to your dorm.
"surprise!" he says with the most emotion you've heard out of him in weeks. a bouquet of flowers are in his large hands. a nice turtleneck adorned his chest, which had gotten bigger. he must've been putting his frustration into working out. "you back to calling me by my birth name?"
he pushes his way into the dorm, looking around at your space that you shared with your roommate who had been out of town.
"um, you're early. a week early." you express to him, rubbing your forehead. you weren't prepared for his arrival in the slightest. your hair had been pulled into a bun and your face was bare. you adorned some grey sweatpants that did not belong to you. shuri had left them here the last time she slept over. she claimed it was "too warm" in the room to wear such pants. instead she wore a pair of your shorts that you never got back.
"you weren't going to tell me that your spring break started a week earlier than mine? i just decided to do my coursework ahead of time and then surprise you."
"honestly it slipped my mind." you say, which was the truth.
he sets the bouquet down.
"you look pretty." he says as he gets closer to you. his hands grab your waist, pulling you in and looking at you as if he wanted to devour you. it was almost as if he had forgotten how pretty you were. or maybe he was just jealous, because he knew the pants were too big for you.
you wanted to pull away, not wanting to kiss him despite thinking that you had been missing him all this time.
"not right now, i kinda just woke up." you say, which was a lie. it was eight p.m. on a rainy night. you could never sleep when it rained.
"okay, i guess later then when we go out to dinner. you looked like you were expecting somebody though with the way you opened up the door. is it that stupid princess you've been hanging around?"
there was the montell you were used to. a jealous, insecure, fucking man child.
"no." you say, a lie. your face scrunches up in disgust that he would refer to her in that tone.
he knows you're lying.
"okay. so if i wait up around in here she's not gonna show up?"
"i don't know. i can't control what she does."
"bullshit. you've got her walking around behind you like you're the one who's royalty. call her."
what?
"no."
"i said, fucking call her."
before you can say anything he's attempting to grab your phone. you put up a good fight, causing the phone to get launched right into his face. you gasp when you've realized what you did. instant regret fills your body as you spurt out countless apologizes.
"it would've been better if you just fucked her, y/n. cause then i could confidently say i don't give a fuck about you and finally tell you about all the girls i've been nailing since i went away. heh, just like how you've been. guess we finally have something in common."
your eyes go wide at his words. there it was. there was the truth that you had been begging to hear in some deep part of your brain. those were the words that could allow you to finally let him go. this was the moment you decided that you weren't okay with being 'comfortable' anymore. you were utterly repulsed at him and yourself for letting this go on for so long. for months you refused to act on impulses that you craved so badly to have. your lip trembled when you thought about how you could've kissed shuri ten times over by now. you had been holding onto something that you didn't realize had no real value to you anymore. and for what? to be treated like some idiot? you didn't deserve that.
"get the fuck out. you should've never come home."
"yeah i should've stayed with my other girlfriend. at least she doesn't flaunt herself around with other people in fucking tabloids. it's embarrassing you know that? when your buddies send you links of some bitch having her arm wrapped around your girlfriend? they teased me about it in my frat for weeks after she got caught playing in your hair and looking so lovey dovey with you. they called me a pussy for not coming back home sooner."
"so that's why you came back? to prove yourself to some idiot frat boys who are gonna be stuck drinking out of kegs the rest of their life while you write all their code, making them the millionaires? get the fuck out montell."
"you bitch-"
"i said leave."
you don't have to tell him again before he's grabbing up his roses and muttering curse words at you under his breath. you held your composure until he slammed the door shut. when surrounded in your own hospitality you finally crack. the tears fall down your face and plop as they hit the wooden floor. you were crying because you were upset about losing someone you loved. you were crying because you had let yourself be played for a fool for so long. a part of you feels liberated as the weight of montell is lifted off of your shoulders.
"y/n?" a voice says from behind the door. you recognize it's shuri.
attempting to speak only results in you being choked up. the door opens as you raise your head to look up at her.
her grey hoodie that says MIT has raindrops all over it. her curls are wet and drip against the wood floors. she looked beautiful despite being soaked. the fact she looked so beautiful made you cry even more.
when she lays her eyes on you she can't help but immediately rush over. she drops the books about physics she had in her hand. she had every intention on coming over here to study with you, but now she didn't care about any of that. she had never seen you like this before. her only priority was you. her heart was set solely on you.
"what happened?" she asks, her arms wrapped around your body as you huddled into yourself. you don't dare to look at her, feeling too ashamed.
"montell.. i'm so stupid." you manage to choke out.
shuri puts it all together. she thought that man she had passed in the hallway just now looked familiar. she knew even more that something was up when he gave her a glare that could've had him killed. had she known he left you like this, she would've killed him herself. how dare he cause such pain to someone who did nothing but care for others?
"whatever happened, you are not stupid. you are one of the brightest girls i know, and that's saying a lot."
you somehow manage to laugh and look back up at her. she's still holding on tight, making you feel warm in her embrace. it reminds you of the study session at riri's. it feels pure. it feels like you're the only person in the world to her.
she wipes away your tears with the pads of her thumbs, her eyebrows contorted into a face that resembles worry.
"please don't cry. you are too pretty to cry over such ugly things. i hate to see you cry."
you think that this is exactly how love is supposed to feel as she says those words to you.
"shuri.."
"y/n. you make me feel things that i've never felt before. you're something that is so impossible to ignore that i can't help but spend every second with you. you put up with my annoying tendencies. you put up with my clinginess. you put up with my lack of american pop culture knowledge. you denied me my feelings because you knew it was the wrong thing to do if you fell into my temptation. i know you know deep down how i feel for you. it is quite obvious. you are an angel among men, y/n. you are my angel. you've saved me in ways that you can't even begin to think of. i never had any intentions on falling in love with you, but it has happened. you may not be in love with me but you are what makes my world spin. you are what makes my oceans flow and earth quake. you are exactly who bast intended me for and i can't ignore this anymore. i can't let you sit here and think you are foolish when you are anything but. you are considerate, you are kind, you are a person worthy of being a queen. you are my queen, wakanda's future queen."
her words have shocked you as you sit there, eyes wide and your mouth partly gaped open. you thought you'd want to hear those words from montell, but really it had been shuri all along. you couldn't ignore your feelings towards her after a love confession of such caliber. it had shaken you to your core and it took you out of your sadness. your heart was beating at a dangerous tempo, but it was aligned with hers. you didn't know what she meant by her goddess creating you for her, but you could feel it. you could feel it because you knew she was made for you as well.
you hadn't realized, but you knew everything about her. you knew shuri's favorite color was purple. you knew her zodiac sign was sagittarius. you knew her dreams and goals of advancing wakanda. you also knew how scared she was to become the future queen as she once cried in your arms.
you love shuri. you love her so much that it made you blind. you'd rather ignore that feeling than feed into it, but that's all changed now. she took the lead tonight and now it was time for you to express what came to your mind.
so you did.
your lips connected to hers in a wild frenzy. finally you were quenching this thirst you had been searching for since she came into your life. after all this time you were doing the unthinkable. you were allowing yourself to be her's, rather than anyone else's. your fears of commitment felt like things of the past when your hands made their way to her face. her skin felt so soft against yours, as it got wet from your tears. her plump lips are attached to your soft ones. it felt like you were intertwining yourself with her. for shuri, it felt like the soul ties were becoming knotted into one. finally she had you and she had no plans of ever letting you go. this was the unthinkable and it was so beautiful as you held onto each other, placing intimate kisses one one another. this was you saying you loved her just as deeply as she loved you, in very little words.
you were ready. after all this time you were ready to see what was right in front of you this whole time. you could never go back to what it was before. she was your soulmate.
"i'm sorry." you whisper out after you pull away to breathe.
her hands begin caressing your face as her eyebrows furrow. "what are you sorry for, my love?"
"i'm sorry for not doing this any sooner. i'm so sorry."
"you never have to apologize to me. i would've waited until the end of time for you."
you smile, feeling your heart swell.
as the rain falls down around outside of your dorm walls, you stay in her embrace. shuri could feel her brother smiling at her from a distant plane, knowing in death that he was right. he had been smiling even brighter at the prospect that shuri did indeed find her nakia.

star like you pt 1 | pt 2 ☆ shuri x fem!reader (fame au)
you’re a superstar and she’s your producer. when you collide together again for the first time in a while since your listening party the two of you feel a spark.
warnings : i don’t think there are any!
word count : 2.9k+
note : hi !! this is basically my return to tumblr. i took such a long break because honestly my fixation on shuri ended and i lost a lot of my motivation. i also was figuring out a lot of college stuff and working on larger projects for my career. i didn’t want to push out mediocre content just to keep up with my posting, y'all don’t deserve that! this will be a series i plan on completing. it has a playlist attached in my masterlist but the song popular by the weeknd kinda sets up for how the story is gonna play out. so i would suggest listening to that one as you read. i hope you enjoy this ! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
“so.. what’s your name?” the man who approached you says with a nervous grin spreading across his face. it had been covered in sweat which made you guess two things. either he felt really hot in his navy blue suit, or he was entirely too nervous to be approaching you right now. you presumed it was the second option. this was only because just a few moments earlier you saw him chatting with his friends and how they would always look back at you.
you chuckle, “i’d rather you just ask me for the picture already, rather than play dumb about not knowing who i am.”
you turn your body to him, giving him your full attention. you watch as his eyes grow wide and he begins to play with his collar, as if it’s suffocating him. his sweat droplets glide down his forehead and absorb into his full eyebrows. you think it’s amusing, because you know he doesn’t just want a photo. he wants something much more.
“i’m sorry.”
“it’s fine.” you set your glass down, “so do you want the picture or not?”
“uh, yeah sure. i guess.” he says while fumbling to pull out his phone. you glance over to his buddies to see them with wide grins, so you decide to play along. you take his phone, brushing ever so slightly against his rough hands with your soft fingers. it leaves a trail of goosebumps rising against his skin that is hidden underneath the suit.
“get in the frame.” you say as you focus the camera mainly on you. that was just how you liked it, having all the attention on you. you weren’t sure how you would’ve lived any other lifestyle than the one you’re living right now. best selling new album, grammy nomination number three with one win already under your belt, sold out tour for next year, and all while you were just twenty. should you have been drinking a martini? not legally. however, the bartender was more than willing to move around the rules a little bit if he heard who track seven was written about.
he shuffles closer to you, the only thing keeping him from moving any closer is the aura you omit. he knew you weren’t on his level, especially because he was just some niche internet celebrity that only the incels of twitter knew about. you weren’t even sure how he made it into this exclusive bar.
the camera from the phone clicks and your toothy smile turns into one that shows annoyance. you hand the phone back and watch as his face is stuck in embarrassment. you soooo got off on that.
“hope you have a nice night.”
“y-yeah, you too...”
he shuffles away and you watch as he keeps his head held down low. he passes by his friends who all try to congratulate him upon his arrival back, thinking something entirely different took place during the interaction. he just walks right past them and towards the exit of the bar.
you turn your body back towards the bar and look back down at your glass. your acrylic nails play around with the olives at the bottom of the near empty drink. you hadn’t had a real motive for going to the bar. really you just wanted to escape your manager for a second and have a night out to yourself for once. living the socialite lifestyle meant you were hardly ever alone. your assistant stayed up your ass constantly and even lived in your guest house back at home in L.A.. you had to go out to places almost every night whether it be restaurants or brand launches with friends to keep up with the life that young girls only dreamt of. which, you loved it, but you also liked your own company a lot more than anyone else’s.
“here you are.” the bartender says, winking as he slides you another martini.
“who bought me this one?” you ask, considering you’ve been receiving drinks all night. to be specific, this was your seventh one. usually guys would send over fruity shots, which is what they expected you to drink. luckily you had a group of girls celebrating a bachelorette party right beside you. you had been giving them all of your drinks which they greatly appreciated.
this time the drink had been a martini. the exact same way you had been getting them all night. how thoughtful.
“cutie at the end of the bar. she said she knew you.”
your eyes glance over in the direction of where the bartender’s hand subtly points to. sure enough you saw the girl he had been referring to. she knew you, and you did know her. she was one of the producers on your new album. she’s up and coming and you knew you had to be one of the first to brag about working with her. sure enough the song was a hit and even one of the tracks off the album being put up for grammy nominations.
despite all that, you two had never actually met until your album release party. every conversation before that had been done on the phone since she wasn’t living in the U.S. at the time. it was safe to say you were surprised she was here in new york. even more surprised that she ended up at the same bar as you, on the same night, at the same time. you would say it’s fate. she would say she saw the paparazzi pictures of you entering the bar and she just happened to be in a hotel a couple blocks down. nothing an uber ride couldn’t fix.
she waves to you and flashes a smile. her pearly white teeth sparkle against her darker skin. you smile back, giving a little wave as well. she looked cute in her sleeveless shirt and dark green dress pants. Which you only saw due to her standing against the wall near the bar. the rest of the seats were taken, so she waited the long game and decided to stand until she made her move. her hair had been freshly faded and she had added a few more tattoos onto herself since the last time you two were together. you were unsure how you saw them despite the dim lighting, but you were just staring too hard to not notice.
you felt a bit overdressed in your vivienne westwood dress that accentuated your chest and sat high on your thighs. it wasn’t anything too fancy, but the black kiki marc jacobs boots you were wearing were anything but casual.
“oh yeah? tell her to come over.” you say back to him, and he gives you a look. “don’t worry i’ll tip you well.”
he smiles and walks away from you to the other side of the bar. you can’t see his lips moving, but you can tell they are because now she’s looking at him instead of you. then she looks at you, as if wanting you to say the words yourself. so you do, in a glance and a quick nod. her white teeth flash again when she smiles. she grabs her glass from the counter, filled with some type of expensive scotch. she had actually been old enough to drink, her being two years your senior.
your eyes trailed her as she made her way around. people crowded your vision of her every so often as they conversed with those around them, swiveling in their bar chairs.
“hi.” she finally says when she’s standing in front of you, looking even better up close.
“hi.” you say back as you take her in.
“mind if i sit?”
“not at all.”
share slides so easily into the seat with this energy that makes your stomach suddenly feel fuzzy.
“how’ve you been?” she asks.
“good, yourself?” you ask in return, your fingers trailing themselves around the rim of her glass. she glances at the action out of the corner of her eye.
“i mean, a lot has changed. good change though, all thanks to your album. let’s just say i won't be out of a job anytime soon.”
you laugh, “so is this drink a thank you?”
“you could say that. it’s also just a kind gesture. i saw that guy bothering you earlier.”
“bothering isn’t the right word choice. he was harmless really.” you take a sip of the martini, “besides, i know how to handle myself.”
shuri stares at you for a moment, entranced by your being. her hands are resting on her lap but they ache to reach out for your exposed skin. ever since the album party she couldn’t help but think about you. work crushes were extremely unprofessional and she prided herself on never mixing pleasure with business. you were just that one exception for her and it made her head spin.
that night at the party you had barely even talked to her, but she watched everything you did. which, she would be surprised if anyone had not been watching you that night. the party was all about you. granted, it was partly about shuri too considering she had collaborated on it. she was nice to the people who came up to her and congratulated her work. she watched as you did the same thing.
she barely got the chance to talk to you, so the fact she was talking to you now made her feel like it may be one of the last convenient chances she gets.
“do you turn down everyone who tries to flirt with you?”
“i’m not turning you down am i?” you ask her, moving your eyes from your glass to her. “why do you ask?”
shuri felt like she was caught, “i saw you do it at the party. i saw you do it tonight. i never see any media covering any dating stories with you so i’m just tryna see what the deal is.”
you raise your eyebrow, “so you’re trying to see if i’m fair game.”
shuri smiles again, this time it looks shy and innocent. it makes you swoon a little.
“yeah i guess you could say that.”
you can’t help but cling onto every word that she says because of her wakandan accent. it was so sexy the way she made every word sound so much more special than it really was. it had been sexy when you heard it over the phone and at the party, but it felt somewhat different this time.
“what time is it?” you ask her, which catches shuri by surprise.
“um,” she quickly pulls her phone out of her back pocket and opens it, “eleven fifty-six.”
you sit and think for a moment. you had to be back up at five in the morning for a photoshoot but you figured it was still early enough in the night to have some fun. lucky shuri.
“okay. let’s go to wherever you’re staying at.”
shuri was shocked by your response. she knew she was attractive and had some game. however, you were a task she couldn’t even begin to imagine tackling. you were on this pedestal to the entire world that almost made it impossible to see you as a fellow human being. with your millions of followers and “i’m the shit” mentality it made you intimidating. you were the prize and shuri had her eyes on you.
“okay, yeah. i’ll get us an uber.” shuri says while searching through her phone for the app. “it says it will be here in ten minutes.”
“cool, we can wait by the entrance.”
you get up from your chair and throw down a couple fifties. your drinks didn’t cost much but you did say you’d tip well.
shuri follows behind you like a lost puppy which makes her feel some kind of way. she wasn’t used to being the follower or the less dominant one. all you ever oozed was dominance and control. she was desperate to break that wall down and see what you were really like beneath it all. no one is ever that composed.
“so,” shuri starts as she leans against the wall next to the entrance, “what have you been up to since the album release?”
you can’t help but laugh, “everything i’ve been up to is posted on my socials.”
“oh, i know.” shuri checks her phone, “aren’t you going to ask what i’ve been up to?”
you hum, “shuri, what have you been up to?”
“nothing much. just done a lot of work producing wise. i’ve been attending a lot of events of my own recently.”
“i saw on your insta. i’m glad you were able to find a free night.” you stare into her dark brown eyes.
“yeah, me too.”
a silence consumes the two of you despite all the talking and low music filling the room. you’d never quite felt like this with anyone before. this feeling of being okay with being around someone other than yourself. shuri could sense you weren’t a person who let their exterior down easily. not your real one anyway. the wakandan knew she had a huge task ahead of her, and she knew she wouldn’t be able to do it all in one night. however, she knew you were feeling her, and that was good enough.
everything was going great as she continued to get closer to you with every slight step. she figured it was good for her to get closer since you weren’t telling her to stop. it wasn’t like she made the distance closing unobvious. then, of course, her phone went off.
“the uber is here.” shuri says while turning her phone off and looking back up at you.
“are you ready?” you ask her.
“yeah?” shuri says with curiosity. why wouldn’t she be?
“no, i mean are you ready?” you ask again while looking outside of the window closest to you both. shuri follows your gaze and notices all of the people outside readying their large cameras. now she knows what you meant. once pictures hit the media of you two in date outfits and getting into the same car meant all hell would break loose.
“are you ready?” shuri can’t help but ask. she was concerned about how much you’d have to deal with when the morning came. you were the shooting star and she was simply the sky that surrounded you. the attention would be on you, not her.
“i’m always ready.” you say while smiling and grabbing her hand. it made her eyes widen and she could feel the heat spreading across her soft face.
your feet pick up sooner than her own, so for the first couple steps you’re practically dragging her along. shuri eventually picks up the pace at the right time. she can see the paparazzi positioning their cameras on you and her before you’ve even exited the building.
“open the door for me.” you say under your breath as you finally make it to the big glass doors. shuri very quickly follows your command and it makes you smile.
voices begin to flood the entire entrance area, and they're all shouting for you.
“put your arm around my waist.”
shuri nods and does just that, confused by your motives.
you both begin walking down the sidewalk to the uber that seemingly couldn’t park any closer. clicks and flashes of light cloud your vision and ears but you were used to it. you hardly ever blinked anymore when one of them went right off in your face. however, shuri was struggling to make her way through it all. she wasn’t used to so many photos begin taken of her at once. she was someone who stayed in the background, never front and center.
“y/n, are you two an item?”
“maybe!” you answer with a soft, girl next door smile. you had been practicing it since you first got big.
“shuri! was this a date?” one of them asks as they shove a camera into her face. it was none other than tmz.
“well, um...” she fumbles to find the right words, afraid she may say the wrong thing and ruin her chances with you.
“it was a catch up. shuri produced one of the singles on my new album. you should def go and stream it!” you say, quickly recovering the conversation and making sure the camera grabs your good side. shuri is impressed by how good you were at giving the media not what they want, but just what they need.
“is her arm not around your waist? seems pretty romantic to me.”
“she’s making sure i don’t get lost in the crowds. besides, i don’t mind a cute girl on my hip.”
that part made her catch her breath a little. it was as if her heart stopped beating for a second and then continued on. especially when you looked up at her with sparkling eyes.
“sorry guys, we’ve gotta go.” shuri says when she realizes that you’ve both finally reached the car.
the paparazzi continued to take photos of the two of you as you hop into the car together. the driver doesn’t say a word. living in new york as an uber driver meant you picked quite a few celebrities. the less you talked meant a better tip.
shuri simply puts her hand on your leg, wanting to squeeze the skin beneath her fingertips. you lay your head on her shoulder, content with the touching. this was sure to be an interesting night as the two of you ached to touch one another in other ways.
