I am a child sexual grooming victim who was very well on the path to being raped. PLEASE block @/safespace4selfshippers, after looking at their blog they have made it clear they support and condone the sexual abuse of CHILDREN, ANIMALS, and CORPSES IN REAL LIFE, and are anti-recovery, which means they are against people like pedophiles getting help to deal with their illnesses.

I encourage you all to block and report them, as I have done. People who fetishize the unbearable pain victims like me go through have no place in the selfshipping community.

Before I started taking medication I would have frequent emotional flashbacks! It wasn't visual, I wasn't "back in the moment" but I felt all the emotions and I would shake and cry and curl into a ball and sometimes perform self destructive behaviours.

There is no one singular way to have ptsd. Trauma is subjective!

By the way, PTSD flashbacks aren't always "suddenly you're in the moment again". They can be of course but emotional flashbacks are a kind of flashback too (remembering the event and suddenly feeling the emotions you felt in the event) just in case someone needed to hear it

the tumblr community is so accepting (trust me I say this as someone who selfships with a subnautica character whose face was made to give hotdog water quote by @omi-papus) and truly understands what the game was made for.

It's not about killing leviathans, it's not about seeing if you can conquer the ocean. It's about beauty. Exploring a world unknown to you, drinking in the alien surroundings and yet, also exploring grief, the dread of being completely alone.

We don't need more weapons or bigger leviathans. I, personally, want a good story. I want to uncover secrets, I want to feel attached to these characters.

So many YouTubers shit on Below Zero for not being "scary enough" but subnautica was never a horror game!

And I love how so many of the characters are poc, while the devs don't make being poc their whole identity. Sure, Robin is a black woman, but she has a family. A story. A drive to discover. She feels like a person. The media is so deprived of poc and queer characters that actually have more to them than just being a minority.

Subnautica is so much more than just a game to me. It's a whole different world. The Unknown Worlds team was screwed over by Krafton on such a terrible level and I sincerely hope this lawsuit brings them justice.

engaging with subnautica media outside tumblr is always such a fucking whiplash because you would think fans of the "corporations exploit the vulnerable", "global resource exploitation is real", "guns are bad", "poc and lgbtq+ characters are underrepresented in media" game would have likeminded fans.

nah, there's a youtuber min maxing how fast he can kill every leviathan in game (he used AI for the thumbnail), theres a youtube commenter calling the subnautica developers lazy and deserving of being shafted by Krafton (he has a punisher pfp), there's a game reviewer calling every poc/queer character a tumblerina self insert, there's 5,000 redditers calling for more weapons, there's an article telling you how subnautica has given in to woke and why robin is the least likeable protag in gaming history, then an actual fucking nazi shows up talking about how they loved SN1

I've seen it said, but I agree whole heartedly; The fundamental issue with most Leviathan MODs in Subnautica is that people forget that the leviathans are just animals. They aren't monsters any more than sharks or crocodiles. Making them big and scary shouldn't be the only point if they don't fit into the game. Huge and intimidating only gets you so far.

Reapers make sense. Reefbacks make sense. Sea Treaders make sense. The larger leviathans make sense, and they dwindle in numbers by compariosn because of slow egg gestation, food scarcity, and the fact that the precursors are responsible for taking several eggs from sea dragons and sea emperors to find a cure to the Karrah.

The Garg is a terrible addition to the game for me personally because my autistic, Californian, I wanted to be a marine biologist when I was 10, ass knows it would thoroughly devistate life inside and outside of the crater. Everything would cease to exist, and then it would eventually starve, and the ecosystem would take thousands, if not millions of years, to evolve or recover.

All the other leviathan mods just add unnecessary obstacles to your game and tack on "spooky creature oooooo" because they think that's what made the game good. It's all form with no function. Hollow. I hate it.
