that’s why you use fluctuations in the rhythm to track your character’s emotional state - any irregularities in the scansion are like the character’s heart stuttering or jumping or skipping a beat

that’s why when characters share the rhythm - switching off in the middle of a foot - those characters inevitably have an extraordinarily intimate connection

Fellow writers, do you ever have any idea for a story but notice your hands are just too slow to write, so you record voice notes running through your flat or lying on your bed while speaking dialogues for the characters you write for? Aren't those the moments you're glad you're alone at home, because it is just so very unnatural to have a talk between some characters inside of you while you are just one?

Being alone at home for the next couple of days. Morpheus attends the meeting with Hob 133 years too late only to notice he feels more than just friendship for Hob Gadling. After it was hard enough to accept to formally address their relationship as a friendship, he finds himself fearing to hurt him, as all of his lovestories have yet gone bad. Morpheus remains in denial of his feelings as everybody around him seems to know he loves this immortal human being.
