W.I.P Butterfly Prince (Part 3 and Final)
They say loving is like falling,
An impossible gravity that I couldn't stop,
So now imprisoned amongst the stars,
I look down upon you
And the earth where my feet once touched
The rivers that I bathed away the blood and dirt
That a hunt used to bring.
And the tree where I carved out my heart,
Though knarled and untamed and unwanted,
It is yours, my prince. Always yours.

Okay, why is it that I can only write things AT RANDOM MOMENTS, like I'll be standing outside waiting for a train, and then there's just that light bulb moment I which I'll be writing shit that doesn't make sense, but hey, at least I'm still writing, which is a major improvement to the several blank pages Sat on my bedroom floor.

Butterfly Prince (Part 2?)
Forest boy, tell me,
what is it like, to run free and unbound?
To feel the soil beneath your feet,
the chirping cicadas, rose thorns, and thrush.
Tell me what is it like,
to live a life uncaged.
Like the tides, you seem free,
but are you really?
Or is your cage just bigger than mine,
your confines more unclear.
You are free, whilst I remain caged
For a cage that is golden is still a cage.
I remember how you emerged:
face streaked in blood and dirt.
How ugly you looked in that moment,
yet you laid eyes upon me,
rotting decay eating at the butterflies of words
that flitted in my mind,
And I remember how you looked at me
like a portrait of spring,
like how I once was.
Yet you whispered, “How beautiful.”
as if my corruption was invisible,
or perhaps you just didn't care.
As our lips met,
the world imploded.
Ocean and wings, a dove and raven.
among it all I emerged,
only to see you broken, your dirt-streaked face
staring up at stars, unseeing.
Please, tell me forest boy,
what is it that you saw in me?
Beyond the butterfly carcasses,
I had nothing.
So why would you choose to fall?
Why did you choose the unhappy ending?

Butterfly Prince (Part 1?)
Once upon a time,
there was a faerie prince
who found himself in a golden cage.
A boy with a butterfly mind
so beautiful, without it, he is nothing.
He has the power to make it all stop
with just 3 words: 'let me out'.
But his words are butterflies that burn,
and the cage is a coil that chokes
until he is silent, and his tears become salt
As the sun sets,
his beauty had withered.
The butterfly boy's mind a gaping chasm
in a crown of thorns.
of rot and decay where beauty
had once flourished.
Then the cage demanded a sacrifice,
and the boy let his mind burn.
For there is nothing left
but an aching nothingness
until the cage is fulfilled,
claiming the prince
in a crown of thorns.
