Aspec Experiences in the Hermitcraft-Empires-Life SMP Fandomsphere

I have created a google form to survey the relationship between this fandom and aspec identities. Everyone can and is encouraged to answer, if you are willing. It is very long, and has several sections where you are allowed to rant away on the subject, so feel free to take your time.

Also apologies ahead of time for any errors, seemingly obvious missed questions, or strange wording. I did my best and quintuple checked it, but I also have Skizz-level observational skills.

Please share it around, especially to those in different circles of the fandom than yourself. I wanna get as many answers as possible from as many corners as possible.

Very upset about all the scraping of ao3 that's going on recently. I've always had my fics open and available to everyone, because I want people to be able to read and interact without an account.

But now I'm torn between finally locking them and the idea that it's already too late...

Like I've got over 200k words on there. That have already probably been fed to countless AIs.

Listen, if a Bad President can come in and take away our rights and we're dependent on a Good President replacing them in four years to give us back our rights, then we do not have any rights.

If politicians can take or distribute them, then they're not "inalienable" and they're not "rights."

We don't have inalienable rights we have conditional privileges, divvied out according to the whims of whoever currently holds the reins.

And if we want to have actual rights, then we must build a system in which no one has the power to take them away to begin with.

I know I haven't posted that much recently, but I absolutely have a lot more words I want to write for you guys.

The recent lack of stories has simply been because I've been way too busy to work on anything. But don't worry, I have several half-finished things on my laptop that I've been itching to pick up again. (More LD+G oneshots, a handful of documents filled with ideas and research for several different things, and even 1/3 of a longer vampire au)

not to be controversial bc I know this is like…not in line with shifting opinions on fanfic comment culture but if there’s a glaring typo in my work I will NOT be offended by pointing it out. if ao3 fucks up the formatting…I will also not be offended by having this pointed out…

‘looking forward to the next update’ and ‘I hope you update soon!’ are different vibes than a demand, and should be read in good faith because a reader is finding their way to tell you how much they love it. I will not be mad at this.

‘I don’t usually like this ship but this fic made me feel something’ is also incredibly high praise. I’m not going to get mad at this.

even ‘I love this fic but I’m curious about why you made [x] choice’ is just another way a reader is engaging in and putting thought into your work.

I just feel like a lot of authors take any comment that’s not perfectly articulated glowing praise in the exact manner they’re hoping to receive it in bad faith.

fic engagement has been dropping across the board over the last several years, and yes it’s frustrating but it isn’t as though I can’t see how it happens. comment anxiety can be a real thing. the last thing anyone wants to do is offend an author they love, and that means sometimes people default to silence.

idk where I’m going with this I guess aside from saying unless a comment is outright attacking me I’m never going to get mad at it, and I think a lot of authors should feel the same way. ESPECIALLY TYPOS PLZ GOD POINT OUT MY TYPOS.

crazy how fanfic authors drop the most beautiful and gorgeous pieces of work ever, leaving you speechless and sobbing at three in the morning as you quietly contemplate the masterpiece you just read

and they don’t get paid for it they just do it because they’re having fun and they want to share their joy with you

You can't imagine how many times I've excitedly informed my friends "the person with the funny cat image commented!" "- anon is back!!!!" and the friends've recognized who I was talking about because I talk about my commenters so often LOL. We love you all!!!

I have a very specific crave for ranchers fanfic right now! I want it to be in limited life setting where it is just a recap of the episodes but Tango and Jimmy just can't stop thinking about each other and overall they have more banter and chat (so a little bit canon divergent) and overall i just want them to yearn, be silly, no actual angst (except their death ofc)
