BG3 broken. Can someone help?

Lately I’m completely hyperfixated on Baldur’s Gate 3, but the new patch obliterated my game. My game worked at first after patch 5, but then the issues started around the time of the fix

First I couldn’t customize my characters in the mirror or customize any new ones.

- Trying in the mirror superimposes all of the maps and icons from the main game over where any options would be.

- Trying for a new character just doesn’t bring up any options at all.

Now almost every time I’m in a conversation it freezes (idle graphics still going like I didn’t make a choice) when I make a choice and will not let me continue. I’m playing on a gaming laptop with the original download through Steam. I already tried reinstalling, but that didn’t help.

Does anyone know what’s wrong, or do I just have to wait for a fix from Larian?

I haven’t written for fun in so long but have been toying with a new idea with Baldur’s Gate 3 I’m thinking about posting… a mom Tav who is trying to make it back to her kid and instinctually uses mom skills to help with conflict in and outside of camp. I have conflict planned for a couple of characters and am starting a new playthrough to get a better idea of other tie-ins.

If you use self-deprecating humor, that's fine. It's not my cup of tea, but it's fine.

If you use self-deprecating humor AND you're depressed or have a poor self image, I strongly suggest switching to hyperbolic self-aggrandizing humor. I truly believe it's 100000% healthier long term AND I think it's much, much funnier.

Life advice with Moma:

Mosquitoes hate lavender, so if you don't have or don't like using chemical-based mosquito repellents, try putting a few drops of lavender oil in the water in an aromatherapy diffuser or an essential oil burner. Works wonders!

If you have something that you dread to do, don't wait around to feel better about it, just do it now. The more you put it off, the harder it will be to start it. Be salty and angry about it, curse its existence, doesn't matter, as long as you do it.
