SORRY I TOOK SO LONG ANON I WANTED TI RESEARCH WHAT SWISS AND AUSTRIAN PEOPLE DO ON NEW YEARS

Ok so it's quite a busy time for them, since they both have a lot of traditions. Yet, it's always fun for the both of them, and the two end and begin the new year in high spirits. For that reason it's one of their favorite holidays.

Starting off, Roderich gives Vash broken or replaced pieces from his musical instruments as good luck charms, such as strings or old keys. Vash keeps them in a special box, often wearing one as some kind of accessory. Vash always finds some bit of unusually grown plant (extra petals, missing leaves, etc) to give Roderich in return. Roddy keeps them in a special book and usually uses a part of it to make some sort of craft, be it perfume or resin, so he can "wear" the charm as well.

There's a New Year's concert in Vienna that they go to, or watch on TV, as well as watch the "Dinner For One" special on TV as well.

They watch a lot of fireworks and reflect on the year while drinking Rimuss and champagne.

And for food, Vash usually prepares raclette and other foods using a table grill, while Roddy prepares pork, lentil, horseradish, and a marizpan pig for dessert.

Have you ever seen the movie 'Runaway Bride'? It's on netflix & it's about a woman who has left 3 guys at the altar and a reporter comes to write a story about her and they fall in love. The entire time I was watching it I could NOT stop thinking about swissaus it literally fits them SO WELL. The big kiss scene where they finally kiss had me SCREAMING because I could 100% see it as Roderich & Vash. God I hope you've seen this movie so you know what I;m talking about. The whole thing is so them!

Roddy definitely would because he's chasing "true love" and realizes on his big days that it's just not there between his partners but doesn't know how to break it to them so he just runs. It's a cowardly move and I can see Vash being like "you need to apologize" and a part of this au if it were a movie would be Roddy contacting those he left and reconciling with them. It would be why he would be hesitant to begin a relationship with Vash because he feels like he's rushing into them trying not to feel lonely, and convinces himself he's in love when he's really not. He truly does like Vash and doesn't want to hurt him.

Vash making excuses to why he doesn't leave Roddy when he's done with the story (which he never publishes btw, but he knows it would put Roddy in a bad light when there's so much more to him than that. And what had drawn Vash to Roderich's story is that he truly relates to the man, desiring to fill the gaping hole of loneliness with artificial hollywood romance, writing all these stories in search of something real and profound, that would make him feel less empty, and he finds it in Roderich.

Vash would teach Roderich how to be alone, how to do things for himself and encourages him to indulge and cultivate his passions. In this au Roddy still loves to play, but stopped once one of his exes teased him a bit too much about it, saying stuff like "no one's gonna love you if you spend all your time at the piano" and making him feel like it was a silly hobby that made him look stupid and childish.

Eventually the two discover together that yeah, this is love, and not the fake love they had romanticized in their head, but finally, finally something real. And on the wedding day Vash is worried that Roddy will leave him, but Roderich comes in fully devoted, knowing that he's found someone who truly and utterly completes him. It's a very beautiful ceremony, and the two happily live out their days together.

Who would be able to stomach horror movies? Do they have a favourite?

So mod HATES horror movies so bear with me.

I think they don't care as much for gorey physical horror but psychological thrillers are their thing. They love The Twilight Zone and Black Mirror, and one of their favorite movies is The Thing! I assume they'd also like Us, but once again idk mod doesn't watch horror movies.

For as much as they enjoy them, they definitely cuddle a little tighter, triple and quadruple check the doors, sleep with a light on (not ashamed to do so either) and protective weapons are a little closer. They usually psych and scare themselves out and get jumpy, with Roddy expressing it more than Vash, but the man is just as scared of not more so under his cool demeanor. They're usually only affected for a night, but they make sure to forget about it by watching something fluffy the next day.

what would nap time for the 2 of them look like? just passed out on the couch, in bed all neat and tidy, on a hammock outside, on the floor because fuck it?

Passed out on the couch!!! Couch comfy and pretty much 100% of the time one of them fall asleep and the other is like "aight it's naps and cuddles time" and so they just reposition and lay out on the couch and cuddle as they take a nap.

No funny business either, the vulnerabilty of sleep is something they both really respect. Doesn't mean they haven't snapped a few cute photos of the other sleeping, however. Vash thinks Roddy is quite attractive without his glasses, (he always takes them off before sleeping, if he hasn't then Vash will do it for him) and Roderich loves how peaceful and content Vash looks as he sleeps.

I believe nap time is a daily ritual for them, a way to unwind and relax. They always feel very refreshed afterwards as well! They're usually not too long, maybe an hour or so, because they don't want to lose too much time out of their days.

Which one has the coldest hands? Do they like to mess with the other because of it?

Hmmm, as a fellow musician my hands only get cold when playing outside, and Roddy wouldn't dare as to not damage his instruments, yet I adore tyberious' hc of cold feet Roderich so he would also have cold hands. My man is just cold a lot? I feel like Vash would always be holding it or rubbing it to get them to warm up because it's uncomfy to cuddle or hold hands with a partner with ice cubes for extremities. Vash makes a lot of quips about it, like using his hands to replace ice cubes in his drinks or to cool down hot food, but Roderich always gets him back by surprise touching his bare skin or uses it as a means to jolt Vash awake. It's a source for a lot of teasing between the two of them.

Snowboarding VS Skiing

Who do you think would do which?

Would they have friendly competitions and do tricks?

Vash snowboards. Roddy Skiis.

Vash does tricks, he has a bit of a hidden daredevil side that comes out when he snowboards, meaning Roddy has to patch him up, but Vash secretly loves how much Roderich fusses over him when he gets hurt.

Roderich is a very talented skier, he can do black diamonds (that's the hardest, right?) with ease, and he's good enough to teach even the most inexperienced person, but he doesn't really do tricks. He's very safe, but also loves the rush skiing gives him.

It's nice for both of them to have some stress relief not tied to their main passions of music and outdoorsy/gun/hunting stuff, and they pride themselves on their skill. I feel like they would only get into competitions because they don't want to be the one who spends money getting hot chocolate, so everytime they go to the slopes, they have a competition at the end of the day to decide who's buying. I feel like Roddy wins a bit more than Vash, only because the latter feels bad that he has to be patched up all the time

How do you think KugelMugel and Liechtenstein would react to essentially being siblings due to their brothers' relationships? How would Vash and Roddy react to their possible shenanigans due to this?

Ok so, mod is a younger sibling (who for the most part didn't cause problems on purpose,) AND has to deal with older sibs in relationships, so you came to the right person lmao

Lily (Liechtenstein) is really sweet, always respectful of Roddy, laughing at his jokes and complimenting his music. She fits right into their relationship, but Roderich knows his demise will be by her hand if he ever hurts her brother.

Kugel (heck what's his human name) is a bit more shy, less willing to accept Vash at first. I imagine he fits more into the "little shit" archetype of younger sibling, throwing unusually sharpened art supplies at Vash for "practice." Lily scolds him about this, but she's not unwilling to pull a prank or get up to some mischief with him, as she finds it fun, especially when she feels like she and Kugel are being ignored. Lily is just a really good older sister to Kugel in general, always willing to spend time with him, model, help, or even join in in making his art, or cooking if their brothers are busy or away. I imagine they'd be rather close.

For Vash and Roddy, they're mildly annoyed by this, but I don't think it affects them too much as most of the pranks are harmless. In fact, most of the time it will get a laugh out of the two of them. Lily and Kugel know which lines not to cross with their pranks.

I feel like the biggest problem would be that the two seem to accidentally push their siblings to the side as they become more and more preoccupied with each other. Kugel and Lily feel like they have to breach this invisible barrier just to interact with them sometimes. Of course, this is completely unintentional, and Roddy and Vash will apologize by taking them out for ice cream or some other treat. Still, I really do think they'd make a happy little family.

Roderich. But they're few and far in-between, usually used to cheer Vash up with something dumb if he's had a rough day. Vash appreciates them, but in typical pun receiving fashion he scoffs, rolls his eyes, and lightly hits Roderich every time he makes them.
