If I didn’t do Pinky and the Brain for a zine that allowed 90′s cartoons, I would simply die. I LOVE THESE MICE SO MUCH, IT’S UNREAL!!! I’m so happy I was able to draw them for this!

Aku and the clothes

Previously I discussed about the joke with the fire eyebrows of Aku, added just for the sake of a joke and hence ruined the logic. Another aspect, obviously added for the sake of short joke and without thinking through — Aku therapist.

Like, is he Aku's hallucination the same way Jack had his angry hallucination with his face? Or did Aku split up? I ask about this due to the one reason — the therapist wears not only glasses (well, I mentioned that Aku has problems with small objects, but still), but also the clothes — wrist watch, jacket, shirt, trousers, socks and moccasins. WHY Aku for whatever reason wears clothes in the castle in 5 season?!

In the classic seasons Aku always was in fact naked. Yes, his "fluffy tail" reminds a cloak/mantle/robe or a dress a lot, but Aku was born naked and all his life he was naked. Aku is neither male nor female, so he has no organs and is fully asexual, there's nothing to hide, and in all his animalistic or humanoid forms Aku always was naked just like in his true form. And I always thought that Aku never wears any clothes, because he is free in spirit and his body proportions and structure, he wants to be higher and different from others, he is more animalistic, he doesn't want to hide his true self, so even with ability to change shape and mimic into various creatures, Aku still feels uncomfortable and fettered physically and psychologically in clothes, and obviously his big size, hot and acidic blood and body and spikes and spurs will damage clothes, so there's no point to wear it in the first place. It is even possible that the fabric itself (even the softest) or its fibers irritate him and make him feel chained and choked. And even the comics kinda hinted that, looking at these shoes.

At least, Aku weared them to impress the kids. So, the explanation exists. But still better to mimic the clothes. Especially shoes. Bad shoes is pure hell for feet. Especially in hot weather. From another side, he could make these shoes from own body parts, since they share the same color with Aku... Because most likely this costume is exactly a part of Aku's body. And here he kinda impresses Jack and tries to demonstrate dominance.

While this clothes is in Aku's fairy tales, i.e. not happened in real event, just in Aku's imagination. Aku made it for "Favourite fearless hero image" to impress the kids again. Honestly, I enjoy this his clothes and his form in this his fairy tale. He looks really amazing.

Hmmm... did he really think that this armor will protect him from the magic sword during the fight? Well, Aku is newborn here and already experienced pain from the sword, so maybe yes. Some kind of a unpredictable surprise effect and a game with the deadly foe and also despair at the same time, I guess. Because despite Aku's menacing laugh at first, it really feels like the last attempt out of despair.

By the way, maybe also this moment with armor taught Aku to not use any clothes at all in battles. Because he feels restricted, limited and chained. So, better to be naked, but just fast, unpredictable and cunning. And use sharp mind and own nature and supernatural abilities, inborn and learnt ones. Like, really, only the sword can harm him, so there's no point to wear something, because in any way Aku gets wounds. The only moments, when Aku had some kind of a clothes, was in Ikra the warrior woman form in 6 episode of 1 season and in the Hermit form in 8 episode of 3 season.

Plus, in several comics he was "dressed" — in Jill form, in some "seer" form and in some merchant form.

However, there's the big difference. First of all, in all these moments Aku imitated a clothes on himself, i.e. he still was naked, because all this "clothes" was still a part of his body (although, in Jill form he jumps out of the clothes, hence he borrowed the clothes of some woman, i.e. it is not his). Second, in all these moments Aku was in disguise near Jack for either cruel prank on him or luring him into some deadly trap, so he could tolerate something uncomfortable for some time.

Like, if the therapist's clothes had Aku's inborn colors (black, green, white and red) and hence was indeed the part of Aku's body, i.e. he mimics again, then I almost wouldn't nitpick to it, but in 5 season Aku indeed is in some separated random clothes in his own castle...

Again only for the sake of a joke... And at the same time, in Aku's bed the pillow and blanket are white and red, i.e. with Aku's inborn colors, and he sleeps in it and feels comfortable. It is funny to assume that Aku made them himself from his soft hair coat.

Like, how I discovered here, Aku's beard/hair is similar to spider web, silk and also to polyamide, polyester, polyacrylonitrile fibers, which are similar to fur, they can be soft and durable, and they are (the fibers) made from petroleum refining products, and we remember that Aku has acid-petroleum blood and body. So, it is entirely possible that Aku used own fur/beard for his comfortable and nice bed with soft and warm blanket, pillow and bedsheet.
