Seit einer “Ewigkeit” plane ich nun schon ein neues Template für den Blog zu entwerfen, ohne Erfolg. Aber jetzt ist es endlich geschafft! ;)

In nächster Zeit wird hier auch noch ein wenig aufgeräumt und das ganze wieder etwas mit Leben gefüllt. Reinschauen lohnt sich also endlich wieder! ;)

"If you woke up tomorrow, and your internet looked like this, what would you do? 

Imagine all your favorite websites taking forever to load, while you get annoying notifications from your ISP suggesting you switch to one of their approved “Fast Lane” sites.

Think about what we would lose: all the weird, alternative, interesting, and enlightening stuff that makes the Internet so much cooler than mainstream Cable TV. What if the only news sites you could reliably connect to were the ones that had deals with companies like Comcast and Verizon?

On September 10th, just a few days before the FCC’s comment deadline, public interest organizations are issuing an open, international call for websites and internet users to unite for an “Internet Slowdown” to show the world what the web would be like if Team Cable gets their way and trashes net neutrality. Net neutrality is hard to explain, so our hope is that this action will help SHOW the world what’s really at stake if we lose the open Internet.

Hauptsache im Trend

Seit Kurzem gibt es wohl wieder einen neuen Trend, der sich scheinbar schlimmer ausbreitet als ein Lauffeuer: "Kudos"!

Vermutlich um sich vom "Like" des Socialnetwork-Giganten abzuheben. Das kann ich zwar nachvollziehen, aber warum um alles in der Welt muss es hierfür wieder ein neues "Kultwort" geben? Was ist auszusetzen an dem altbewährten "Star", oder etwas anderem verständlichem, wie "Herzen", "Plus", "Punkte" (von mir aus auch auf Englisch), oder etwas witziger: "Kekse" ("UserA gibt UserB hierfür einen Keks", klingt doch gut ^^).

Aber nein, stattdessen nimmt man "Kudos" und alle machen mit, ohne zu wissen was es bedeutet, oder wenigstens wie man es schreibt! "Kudos" ist nämlich sowohl die singulare, als auch die plurale Form (Quellen: 1 2 3).

Ich hoffe nur, dass die Masse der Fehler nicht wieder einen neuen Standard schafft, so wie es bereits bei "Taxis", "Pizzas", etc passiert ist...

Man muss und sollte einfach nicht jedem Trend hinterher rennen und wenn man es doch tut, sollte man sich wenigstens kurz damit beschäftigen.

Rettet die Menschheit vor der Verblödung, nutzt euer Gehirn!  ;-)

New York (dpo) - In New York fanden in der Nacht zum Montag erstmals die YouTube Music Awards statt. Während die internationalen Auszeichnungen an Rapper Eminem und Country-Sängerin Taylor Swift gingen, sorgte die nationale Wertung für eine faustdicke Überraschung. In der Kategorie "Most Popular YouTube Music Video (Germany)" konnte sich der GEMA-Hinweis "Dieses Video ist in Deutschland nicht verfügbar" durchsetzen. Experten sehen dies als Beweis, dass der deutsche Musikgeschmack sich deutlich von dem anderer Länder unterscheidet.
