The fortress of your love by Hannu Huhtamo Via Flickr: Long exposure light art. CNN's Great Big Story came to Helsinki to do a mini documentary about me and my work! This light painting was done especially for the video. Such a great location, inside the Suomenlinna maritime fortress.

Half the World Away. 309-366 by Fade To Black 

Via Flickr: I saw a cool image on 500px earlier of the silhouette of a man stood on the edge of a cliff in the rain. Lacking in ideas for the night I thought I'd give it a go and put my own slant on it. I drew and cut out the cliffs and figures and attached them to my diorama frame. Beauty dish behind for the moon and black fiber optic lp brush in the foreground leading in with the bokeh. Bit of a faff in light room with a warming of the white balance as I felt a warmer feel suited the image better. This is number 309 of my 366.

One trick pony by LongExposures .co.uk Via Flickr: Lighting up the night from within the 'falls. Well, I figured there was little chance of anything igniting ;-) In the image above, I'm standing in the same place this was shot from. Exposure length of 20 minutes determined by aperture & ISO settings required for wire wool. It did, however, happen to take quite a while to pick my way precariously across the river bed and around the pool from camera's vantage point to standing position. 2,267 seconds of insane focus and dedication to the cause.  Creating all of this in one take in the dark is an incredibly admirable feat.
