Hola My Little Tortillas,
Guess what time it is??? it’s Taco Time!!
WOOT WOOT! Who’s excited to talk about tacos?! As requested, I been doing some taco tasting lately to see what places are worthy of my snobby taco taste buds. I decided to take a ride to Little Falls to this little spot called A Taco Affair. A Taco Affair is fairly new, opened over the summer in June. If you’re looking for your typical taco joint, A Taco Affair isn’t it. Knock, Knock, Who’s there? Not Guac! lol For starters, if you’re planning on ordering a delicious order of guac and chips you come to the wrong place. OH MY GUAC! I expressed to the counter girl, “I need Guac whenever I have tacos.” Angelisa, the pretty counter girl informed me of their slogan, “el taco fancyoso” it’s exactly that… The name “the fancy taco” truly is the perfect description in three short words. Jessica Phillips owner/creator makes everything in house but first going back to the guac, Jessica originally carried it when they opened. I was told she took the time to pick the perfect avocados and was proud of the unique recipe. This is a first for my ears, “The guacamole didn’t sell and 100s of avocados went to waste!” Let’s all have a moment of silence, for the wasted guac…
The owner started her food career, at the Grove, a catering restaurant. After working many years there, she felt it was time to have something on her own. She quoted “I played it safe and got lucky.” Unfortunately, her father wanted her to be a tennis player. Jessica didn’t even play tennis lol. I’m all for following your dreams. You go Girl! #teamtacos
The decor at a Taco Affair was hip and trendy, the place gave off that industrial feel with brick walls and she added some cool artwork. At a Taco Affair it’s an overall rustic ambiance. I went on my lunch hour, so as you can see in the pictures below, there was plenty of space to sit and converse. I suggest going on a date lunch/dinner, with your special somebody. Trust me fellas she’ll be happy. The menu was on a huge blackboard. The owner caters to gluten free eaters like myself. They cater to us in a few ways, and they don’t just say ” here you can see all the salads that are gluten free.” Who else experiences that response, when they go out to eat? So annoying. Jessica, felt it was only necessary to have many options for her eaters. I was disappointed there was no hard shells but they made up for it with their corn gf shells. If you’re watching your figure they offer “lettuce tacos” lettuce to replace the shell. Last but not least, something that sounded delicious and figure friendly was their GF quinoa bean fritter taco.
The Menu was a lot different than your average Mexican spot. Ingredients like kale, butternut squash, sweet potato, and brussel sprouts aren’t my usual go to when I’m craving tacos. At a Taco Affair the one thing they weren’t lacking was flavor. Jessica, definitely put a twist on the typical taco. Since the restaurant opened in June, they launched a summer special, the lobster taco. I’ll be going back to try that one. I was lucky enough to try the “Po Boy” Since it’s easier to get shrimp, they keep it on the menu. Going into Fall the menu had tacos like Horseradish steak, Korean bbq and Buttermilk fried Chicken. Every week on a Tuesday they launch a special taco for 5-6$ or more based on how many toppings. You’ll have to stop in and view the other taco creations. Here’s a run down on the tacos J “my taco taster” and I tried: Pork Belly Huevos Rancheros- His favorite, Po Boy I was disappointed the popcorn shrimp was hard/cold but we enjoyed the crunch and good ol’ old bay aioli. Next, Buttermilk fried chicken, well seasoned, chicken was moist but shouldn’t be eaten if you’re GF or hate spicy food. Next, I personally tried the Horseradish steak and for Holiday purposes the Thanksgiving special. Let me paint a picture for you. Marinated steak, wilted Brussel sprouts and parmesan salad with crispy sweet potato. I know sounds YUMMMY! Boy, was I wrong. So I don’t know about you, but I am huge on texture, steak is my go to, next I was excited for the Brussel sprouts and crispy sweet potato haystack fries on top. Instead, I got a cold, chewy, soggy, a poor excuse of a taco. Sadly, everything is pre cooked. I was expecting by the ambiance of the place, to have a hot taco topped with crispy sweet potato haystack fries and fresh Brussel sprouts on top.
Lastly, Jessica, had a different outlook on Thanksgiving this year, I’m all for tacos instead of the typical turkey and gravy. Jessica, you hit the nail on the head, it was Thanksgiving in a taco. As I took a bite, I then turned to the menu board to see what was in it. I realized a spice “maybe Coriander” if I had to guess, it was too earthy tasting for my liking. What I did like was the cranberry relish, butternut squash and kale salad, definitely covered up the turkey meat portion. The taco in a whole was creative. I would of liked actual turkey with a Mexican seasoning on it. Now that’s an idea! recipe comings soon 🙂
You scream, I scream, we all scream for SIDES! Who doesn’t love sides and condiments?! I definitely do, I went with the Mexican street corn. It was served right on the cob. Full of flavor topped with lime and a special cheese blend with cilantro for the win of the day. At a Taco Affair, they’re big on all their homemade sauces, like some extra heat? Don’t forget to ask to try some when you’re there.
So there you have it my experience at a Taco Affair. Not my favorite but not the worst. I Like my food hot and fresh especially for 6$ or more for one taco and then add NO GUAC! I give them 6 out of 10. Send me an email or message me on Instagram @tacobouttone i love to hear your feedback. Till next taco post my little tortillas! Gotta go my tacos are done!

Hi my little tortillas,
Today’s post I’m calling all hair enthusiasts, beauty school drop outs and all my hair glam lovers!
The other day I was scrolling through my camera roll and realized I’ve had many looks throughout the years. Hair says so much about a person doesn’t?! Hair can be used to compliment ones character, many will dye it or cut it short based on their personal style right? I look at it as, hair can be someone’s identifier. For example: one of my dear friends Cristina, can be identified by “her longgg magenta red hair.” Her hair was a part of her, you spoke of her and others would respond, “oh, the girl with the beautiful red hair” Sadly, it’s no longer red, doesn’t matter she’s still gorgeous and her name in my phone is still “RED” love you mija…
Realistically, how many of you are afraid of letting go of your long locks? or even coloring your hair for the first time? Wondering if it will look good or fit your style. It’s simple! take your time, view some magazines, consult your hairdresser and most importantly DO WHAT YOU WANT!
Did you know, in the bible, hair represents physical strength? Personally, I’ve changed my hair style and color multiple times in my life, now that takes major strength. How many of you can relate and how many are sitting there saying,I’ve had the same haircut since high school? One of my favorite quotes, ” A woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.” -Coco Chanel As you read on you will see a break down on a few important facts when choosing the perfect haircut.
I’ll use my self as an example. Oval face extremely small forehead. I know my friends are laughing. Like, “yes she does.” Forehead slightly wider than the chin, and length is longer than the width of the face.
Face shape:
So my tortillas take some notes, first determine your face shape, don’t know? email me after. Oval.. round .. square .. these are the main shapes. There’s more to choose from but for now, let’s focus on these 3. Pull your hair back and look your pretty face in the mirror and choose from the descriptions below. Round: prominent jaw, rounded cheeks with equal width and length of face. Oval: we discussed earlier that was mine, so compare your face to my personal description. Square: prominent jaw and square chin, with forehead and jawline roughly the same width. Now that you know the shape of your face, you can now decide what hairstyle is best for you. Here are some points I look at before committing to a new hairstyle. 1. Where am I working? 2. Will it work with my gym routines? 3. Can I style it after I leave the salon? 4. What will it look like while growing out? 5. If at the time I had a boyfriend would he think I’m pretty still ? Jk he better!! Right ladies?
What hairstyle is best for the shape of your face? Oval face hairstyles: We’re definitely the lucky ones, extreme is the way to go, long or short guys. The in between is average and not flattering “my personal opinion”. We get away with 90% of haircuts out there. Our face shape may be the most forgiving of them all. Oval shape= win win situations from my experience, I’ve had them all: shaved, bob, pixie, long, bangs, fringy, layers, side bangs. I might not always love having an oval face, but when it comes to my haircuts I’ve felt comfortable in all of them. If you’re not as daring as I am, stick with some basic haircuts. Try these with an oval face: shoulder length style with added side bang or my personal favorite: the classic bob.
Round face hairstyles: Please stay away from the bob, the bob isn’t your friend. Same goes for one length. Round face frame means add layers to give you definition. If the face frame doesn’t have structure the hairstyle must. This can also be done with color if ones afraid of layers.
Square face hairstyles: This is where it gets tricky. Because we don’t want a bob or haircut that stops at the jawline. We want a soft approach, try a fringe haircut with layers. Your first layer should cut in at the jaw and the longer layers continue below the shoulders. Be daring and add a long whispy bang as well.
Lastly, if layers and short cuts scare you, you can stick with your long hair. Long hair tends to be an easy go for most face frames. Long hair, can still be fun and full of life, by simply adding lots of movement and texture. Now I might have you wondering if your haircut is in or flattering. Honestly, if you’re big into what’s “in style?” I will personally tell you fringe is in. It’s expensive and tiring to keep up with the trend. So I go off of what I’m feeling that month, if you’re like me, just have fun with your haircut and be yourself. Can’t wait to see some of my readers new hairstyles. Bye beauties.. Till next post 🙂 Here’s a few hairstyles that I’ve had through my years. #gallery-0-5 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-5 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-5 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-5 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */

Good Morning My Little Tortillas,
Grab a cup of coffee and let’s discuss how does an American, particularly in the north east, handle balance between work and friends? What’s the right amount of time to give to a friend? Being in my early 30s I’ve had my share of “friendships” some over 20 years, some from college, some stole an ex bf, so you know what happened there. Sadly enough many wouldn’t know the definition of friend if it bit them in their behind. What do you gain by having good friends in your corner. Some look for, what can they do for me and others only want loyalty. I can say for me it’s not one or the other but a combination of multiple things. Listen up America, I know we all try to play the hard role and say we’re independent and our job is numero uno right? Lets be real, when business is bad who do we vent to? Exactly, so my main point is we all need to balanceeeee. Which brings me to my main example: one of the many ways I balance friends and a busy schedule. I’ll keep my one friend anonymous; the other morning I get a facetime call, side note girlfriends don’t care what time of day it is or what you look like. If was my boyfriend or yours you would try to look as decent as possible. So I pick up the call and little and behold my kitten caboodle is in the shower “enter emoji face here.” If you know me you know which one I usually use. After we got past the “no you will not” “Ican’t take you right now” shpeel, I said this is why I love you. Both our days haven’t started and we both got a laugh in. As I  began to speak with her she put her razor down, yes! she was shaving her legs, to proceed to pick up her coffee! So let’s pause a second, Face time, Shower, Shaving, Coffee.. Okay, raise your hand if you’ve had a more time management phone call? Didn’t think so. Also, a first for me but many to come from this silly girl. So the moral of the story is, not that were weird “maybe a little” Simply, we both work 12 hour days, have boyfriends and a life. Yet, we still have time to catch up no matter the circumstances. America doesn’t teach us balance but to pick and choose the importance of certain things. To me, my friends are everything. I’m blessed to still have the same friends since kindergarten, so busy or not doesn’t matter with my girlfriends/sisters. We may not see one another as often as we would like but the point of having a true friendship is, picking up where we left off, like time hasn’t passed.
I feel no matter the hustle or the field of work shouldn’t dictate who you become friends with. There’s no time or space for jealousy and envy in my life. We’re all about support no matter the circumstances. My next point: Stop letting America stray you from who you’re allowed to be friends with or tell you how to distinguish what a real friend is. A Friend of 5 months can be more meaningful than a year friendship. It’s about loyalty and connection, Simply, they want to see you win at all times. Stop letting society and social media guide your life on being the most popular or having the highest paid job. In the end you can have all the money in the world and have no one to call when you receive that bonus. So slow down, call a friend, tell them you miss them, take five minutes to say I appreciate you. My coffee’s done so let’s wrap up America-ship with remembering to: Thank God for your the friends in your life  Make time for loved ones  Work on Balance: all work no play is unhealthy and no work all play is foolish.  Lastly, ask yourself today are you the friend you would want to have?
Till next time my Little Tortillas xo God Bless America and all my amazing friends : this goes out to you !
America-ship Good Morning My Little Tortillas, Grab a cup of coffee and let’s discuss how does an American, particularly in the north east, handle balance between work and friends?

Hi my little tortillas,
I’m excited to dedicate this post to Wonder Woman. Before the eye rolls begin, no this blog isn’t about “I am woman hear me roar.” No, I am not a feminist, I like men…a lot. One in particular. Now that we’ve got that out of the way, as I researched Wonder Woman, I found out she was one of the first female superheroes. She symbolizes power, as she comes from a race of all women warriors, and fights along side great men warriors like Superman. Not only is Wonder Woman beautiful and a real princess, she conveys strength which is refreshing to see today; where our society is so solely focused on outward appearance. Wonder Woman is the only woman superhero that’s derived from a woman character; unlike Batgirl or Catwoman whose origin comes from a male character. Wonder Woman is the perfect “role model” for women today because she embodies love, justice, kindness and independent thinking. Which I think is something women and men lack in todays world. lastly, she challenges peoples perceptions of who we are while we pursue who they think they’re supposed to be. Wouldn’t you agree Wonder Woman is the exact role model we need more of today?
If you think about it, we all have similarities with Wonder Woman. I consider myself compassionate and sensitive, genuinely wanting to fix everyone’s problems. At the same time, like wonder woman I am strong and independent. Most of my time I hung out like I was one of “the boys.” I considered them stress free and they considered me one of the homies. Who can relate wanting to be on “equal grounds”? Always being the savior only to realize i’m the one who needed to be saved. I wanted to find equal love not just to love. I want my blog to be “beneficial” not just empty words you skim through while you wait for your tacos. I’m no longer looking for the world to accept me but to accept myself within todays social media world and what comes with it.
Where am I going with this ? Oh yes all my life, I would ask my friends if I was on tv would you tune in? Okay, so my friends of course said yes. Your team should always support you, unfortunately there’s a lot haters within your fans. Which we will cover on a later post. Which brings me to this opportunity my cousin Yelle goes to Parisian beauty school and asked me to be a model for her class. I said yes! here’s my chance get on camera then to social media and bam I get found. I kid I kid, wasn’t that serious. I was honored she thought of me. Did I mention I was made into Wonder Woman!  Which sparked the inspiration for my post today. As the teacher skillfully transformed me into one of society’s number one female marvel icon, my wheels started turning. As the whole class observed and took notes I started to hear comments, “Class here we have a perfect model face.” as I blushed, another whispered about my lips and proceeded to talk about getting lip injections. I said to myself, if they only knew what insecurities I struggle with. I can share that no ones perfect, for example I grew up insecure because I was built differently than the average girl in my school. Ask yourself would Wonder Woman look in the mirror before she saves the world and say I wish I was blonde and had bigger lips? NO.
Remember women and men will always have insecurity downfalls but look at Wonder Woman and what she represents. Strong, Fierce and saves the world from bad. Doesn’t care what others say . We all have Wonder Woman in us. Find what you love and do it! No one can stop you. Remember everyone wants to be Wonder Woman and no one wants to be around a “Worry Woman.”   here’s a few pix to share my experience

Hola My Little Tortillas,
So you may have looked on my Instagram account and viewed my famous name: “tacobouttone.” You may be asking yourself: what is the big deal about tacos? Not only do Americans consume over 4 billion of them a year, but these delicious creations even have their own holiday, National Taco Day is October 4th in the US.  Most of all my love for them has also become my claim to fame and the reason I met the wonderful restaurant creator Kevin. While Kevin contacted me to discuss tacos, I also expressed my idea to combine my love for great food, and all things fashion and fitness, to create an entertaining blog that informs viewers about my own taste . I consider myself witty and creative, and I thought I could incorporate my knowledge with my own personal taste to capture readers and get a few laughs. So here I am, doing this blogging thing. After great coercion from friends and family to write my ideas down, I decided to use my A-D-D brain and put it to good use. I figure if I could influence just one person to be better than ever then I have accomplished something. Why the infatuation with tacos? Why not. The number one question is, well what about your Instagram account. What does “tacobouttone” mean? Talk about tone. Talk about finding the right people. Kevin found me through the name and introduced me to his delicious tacos. He invited me to his restaurant Taqueria Los Gueros and after we spoke about his project “faces of  los gueros” I felt compelled to begin Tonesdaily and share my love for fabulous foods, fashion, and fitness. While I began to indulge, Kevin took some pictures while conversing over abundance of tacos. After this “eat and greet” with Kevin, multiple followers reached out to hear about my ratings.  Through my extensive posts on my love for tacos, I noticed numerous inquires on where can I get the best taco? On social media, followers are always looking for taco suggestions. They also ask about my fashion and the best workouts for a better butt. Some may say I’m a taco snob, one thing for certain I can tell you a good taco from a dud. So my little tortillas, this is just the beginning of my claim to fame. I’ll be blogging more about fashion, fitness, and food later in the week.
