remembering lgbtq+ f1 drivers this pride month
left: Lella Lombardi - "Born in Frugarolo, Italy, on March 21 1941, she reached adolescence understanding that two aspects of her nature were at odds with public opinion of the day: she loved cars and she was gay. After driving the delivery van for her family’s butcher’s shop, she raced karts briefly, before saving everything she could to buy her first car, which she drove in Formula Monza in 1965" (F1).
middle: Mike Beuttler - "Mike Beuttler was the first openly gay Formula One driver, he was teammates with the likes of Ronnie Peterson and Niki Lauda. But he is largely forgotten by the F1 community, accept by those who knew him" (Racing Pride).
right: Mário de Araújo Cabral - "Mário Manuel Veloso de Araujo Cabral was born in Cedofeita, Portugal. Nicknamed Nicha, he was Portugal's outstanding driver of the late fifties and acquitted himself well in his first two Grand Prix outings. Mario's made his international debut at the second running of the Portuguese GP at Monsanto in 1959" (Historic Racing).

The best part about Mario and Luigi’s relationship in the new Mario movie is just that no matter the POV you just know they are each other’s weakness. Like write whoever you want, Luigi needing comfort, Mario needing comfort, both or neither, Bowser threatening them again, whatever it is. Luigi is Mario’s weakness and Mario is Luigi’s and they would let the world burn if the other was safe.
I love these two so much ;-;

"There were times when there were chairs on the sidewalk. It was a time when there were more stars. Time when children played under the moon skylight. And the house dog was a great character. And also the clock on the wall! He did not simply measure time: he meditated time."
Mário Quintana, in Caderno H

« La photographie a toujours eu une relation fascinante avec la vie, où elle complique, éclaire ou même dissimule les choses. C’est le rôle du photographe de faire preuve d’un niveau de sensibilité et de cohérence à l’égard de son support et de son sujet qui déterminera ce qui est rendu visible par ces fissures et ainsi révélé à la psyché collective. »

Em todas as ruas te encontro
em todas as ruas te perco
conheço tão bem o teu corpo
sonhei tanto a tua figura
que é de olhos fechados que eu ando
a limitar a tua altura
e bebo a água e sorvo o ar
que te atravessou a cintura
tanto tão perto tão real
que o meu corpo se transfigura
e toca o seu próprio elemento
num corpo que já não é seu
num rio que desapareceu
onde um braço teu me procura
