" a quirk ? oh , no , i don't have one of those . " the teacher hums , lazed with his arms stretched over his desk . he seems much too comfortable for someone currently splayed over their own paperwork . " but , lucky for me , i don't really need one to teach the general course ! an easier way to get the students' attention would be nice , though . . . "

@bsqvad asked:
" i don’t need a break! i need to keep going until i get this right! " / maki to levi, for that bnha training plot we discussed!
In a world where the strong would prey on the weak, she had chosen to fight. “ When you lay a hit on me, you get to make the decisions. ” She held a fire of a different kind, one he couldn't look past. The wilder the storm, the stronger she'd burn. Levi hadn't imagined he'd take an interest in a general course student — on any student to be exact. Those in her course, better say every course that wasn't dealing with heroics, would have a different focus. Too absorbed in academics, they'd often be, losing sense of what really mattered in this ‘ ideal ’ society where they falsely believed they could chase their dreams freely.
As for the aspiring heroes, who were forced to face such cruelties in this fragile age, break themselves for a cause they had little understanding of, he was disturbed. He was disturbed with the system to take advantage of their naivety and passion. Levi had taken up the role of the professor, not because he wished to bring change — change came from within, and there were deep roots he couldn't rip off — but because he wished them to be supplied with the skill required to survive, even without using their Quirks. At least that way, they'd reach their goal, having lost less.
She was a different case. Because she hadn't anything to lose. Not a carefree childhood, nor a friable spirit. Her eyes, held a familiar rage. One when being stuck in the mud and wanting to get out by all means. His place wasn't to offer a helping hand, but to make sure she'd struggle just enough not to get sucked in, but get out by herself. He knew she would. She had everything, despite the efforts to convince her she was nothing. But for the time being, he was supposed to remind her what was like to fall on her knees.
Lowering his body to the ground, with a spin he'd kick her legs, throwing her off balance. “ It's not a matter of resolve, kid. You are slower than you were thirty minutes ago. You are useless to me like that. ” He'd walk towards her, stopping with his foot atop her hand, a threat to crush it underneath his boot if he liked. Cruel were his methods, and the only she'd respond to. “ If you plan to get stronger at this rate, you should give it up. You'll only be wasting my time. ” He wasn't bluffing. He believed her to be savvy enough to tell the difference. “ Twenty minutes. You grab something to eat, and we'll continue then. ”

I find that more entertaining than actually being immortal because if you know you're immortal, it becomes less scary for you
So you're saying it wouldn't be entertaining to witness folks like Pico and Tsuri do shit that they normally would never do or folks like Kurai doing dumb dangerous shit just for the sake of it? Damn okay then lol
OK I KNOW WHAT YOU MEANT AND I DO SEE THE APPEAL OF YOURS THERE
BUT DAMMIT I WANTED TO KNOW IF ANY OF THE FOLKS HAD FUN DOING DANGEROUS SHIT THAT THEY ALWAYS WANTED TO DO BUT NEVER DONE BECAUSE ONLY ONE LIFE LOL
Here's the thing with those characters: They do dangerous shit normally. Pico and Tsuri are smart, and are cautious enough to think of an actual plan, then plan B, C, and D.
Kurai isn't immortal, but that hasn't stopped him from walking off a 20 story roof and falling. Granted, he has shadow powers, so it's like falling into a void pool, but he's done shit without thinking. If he dies, he dies. He never gave a shit

v; i keep my ideals alive ( .bnha verse; kaeya. )
Kaeya was born in the nation of Khaenri'ah, an island off the coast of Sumeru, possessing an Ice Quirk he inherited from his mother’s family. With Khaenri’ah being a nation without official Pro-heroes, the law enforcement was mostly taken care of by volunteers, Quirkless and Quirked, known as the Black Serpents. The crime rate was minimal if at all and all was peaceful, until a group of people amid those who helped govern the nation became seduced by AFO's promises of power in the world he would rule. This group would become the Abyss Order and their dealings with AFO through the years as well as their actions in his name after he was arrested by All Might would eventually bring the attention of the Teyvat Union as a whole and thus the Seven would be dispatched to dispose of them. Due to miscommunication, the Seven would end up combating the Black Serpents and allow the Abyss Order more time to complete their devices, but in the end, the ensuing battle would destroy them anyway, along with horrifically devastating the nation in the process as each of the highly volatile energy cores ruptured.
Kaeya and his father were lucky enough to flee before the worst of the calamity occurred, and journeyed across the nations of the Teyvat Union, ultimately coming to rest in Mondstadt, far from their home. Because his father had been a prominent leading member in Khaenri’ah, the man decided that Kaeya was to be left on his own in Mond, to grant him the opportunity at a better life in being taken in by one of the families there. The man’s parting words to his on were a plea to never let himself forget his identity as Khaenri’ahn and where he came from, though Kaeya would come to misinterpret and tie it to the Abyss Order, considering many of the leadership–and many of Kaeya’s other family members–happened to be aligned to the Abyss Order’s dealings, as well as rumors circulating the nation he ended up internalizing.
Was he meant to be their spy? Here, in his new home? Was that his true purpose? This would remain a constant thought looming in Kaeya’s mind, even living an otherwise idyllic life in Mondstadt.
Being taken in by the Ragnvindrs and raised alongside the prominent, promising young lad who aspired to be the nation’s top hero, Kaeya let himself be molded into the boy’s support. He would take every lesson and training seriously, enough to catch up and be admitted to the same academy as Diluc. To take each rigorous class right alongside him and excel, using his Ice Quirk to ensure the boy’s fire never burned out or too far. Always being Diluc’s second, his right hand, the other half to the dynamic team they would form and aspire to maintain into their official careers. And Kaeya so desperately wanted that future. So desperately wanted to keep this home and life he had made here.
But how could he rest easy, with the ever-lurking shadow of his supposed purpose warring with his growing attachment for the people and nation he came to love? The answer came sooner than later, as his inner turmoil ultimately came to a head at Crepus’s death due to a deadly support device manufactured by the Fatui organization. Betrayed that even the ever-righteous man he looked up and begun to consider like a father to would have stooped so low and be swayed by such sinister powers, Kaeya would admit his family ties to the Abyss Order to Diluc. To force him to make the choice for him, staying in Mondstadt or going home and rejoin his family, ideally cutting the strongest attachment he had at the very least, as he himself would never have the will nor strength to do so personally.
The rest is history.
Kaeya’s purpose within the Favonian Hero Organization does involve to typical PR and heroism, but he also took it upon himself to have an additional purpose–to be the sort of hero unafraid of dirtying and bloodying their hands in the name of the people’s safety. All behind the Organization’s back ( though some do suspect what he gets up to ), and well-hidden from the eyes of the media, of course.
Due to his Khaenri’ahn upbringing and hearing his father’s say through his most impressionable years, he’d long since held ill regard for heroes and the Commissions running them, only indulging Diluc’s admiration for them without mockery nor disdain out of attachment to the boy. Their rules and regulations were always far too restricting, much too inefficient to do their beloved nation any good. Always letting villains slip through the cracks in their defenses and hurt people many heroes wouldn’t even care to give a second glance. Now that Kaeya was freer of and his purpose wrenched asunder by his confrontation with Diluc, he would give himself the indispensable role of personally seeing to getting rid of villains, vigilantes, and even those of the Favonian Commission he noted were corrupt. Anyone deemed a threat to Mondstadt’s safety would fall at his hand, dealt with swiftly and quietly, with no loose ends to spare. He cares not what he has to do to ensure Mond’s safety, never worried of what consequences he would face if caught. Not that he ever worried he would be, but that is a bridge he’ll cross when he comes to it. Never one to give anything but his all, he fully intends to protect the place he’s called home.
Even if certain fears still linger in mind. Still, he can hope his dedication would be enough to tide him through them all. It’s always been one of his strongest, most defining traits, after all.

because prime torino is my special blorbo, i think that when he gets blasted to afo and ofa's childhood, he gets a cursory time shield that prevents afo from taking jet. prime torino doesn't find this out at first, because he's incredibly conscious about not letting afo get his gremlin hands on skin. but, like, you can't really justify hugging one kid (yoichi) and only patting the other on the head (mini afo).
mini afo is desperate to get hugged. why doesn't he get hugged. he engineers a situation (now that his brain is off survival mode, nightmare mode activates because he has gathered many, many vestiges from unwilling people) and is pathetic enough to bewilder a half-asleep sorahiko into cuddling him. mini afo latches on, sobbing, and then he tries to take sorahiko's quirk.
except he can't. he has no idea why. mini afo starts bawling.

Streber would have a pretty powerful and useful quirk if he knew how to utilize it better and learned more about it. The only thing that's stopping him is all the drawbacks that come with his quirk. 😔

Unprompted » ALWAYS ACCEPTING
@detonizing asked: " Just because I interned with you ONE time doesn't mean you can use that as an excuse to call for me whenever the hell you want. My class isn't even doing internships right now. " And surely Bloodletter already knew this ( which was why she was bothering him on a Saturday ) but Katsuki complained anyways, because if Bloodletter was going to send him a million (two) texts under the guise for his 'internship training' then he's absolutely going to call her out on it. Even if he listened to the texts and went to her despite knowing there was really no need to. " So? What is it this time? Clothes shopping? Grocery shopping? You just want a damn servant, don't you. "
All complaints went through one ear and out the other, as they often did with him and anyone else that attempted to criticize her. When one lived in the spotlight as she did, there was certainly not shortage of people with opinions, warranted or otherwise— you either learned to ignore it and move on, or got crushed under the weight of people pleasing until you were nothing but a hollow shell. Granted, Katsuki wasn’t just some nameless citizen looking to gripe. If anything, he understood her devil-may-care attitude quite well, seeing as they shared the same indifference for others’ opinions of them ( even if that callousness was sometimes feigned ).
Regardless, she was still being nagged, and whether it was coming from him or not— or perhaps because it was coming from him— the pro hero had no intention of accepting feedback after this long. Save it for her agency’s suggestion box or social media DMs. ❝ You’re saying that, but you’re here, aren’t you? ❞ Nicolette cuts through the bullshit and gives him a knowing look, but there’s sincerity behind her teasing smirk, whether he chooses to see it or not.
❝ First of all, ❞ she begins after his cruel accusation, holding up a finger, ❝ I resent that! ❞ Conveniently, she does not outright deny any of it, but still! It’s the principle! ❝ Second, ❞ another finger, ❝ it’s not like I can just call it ❛ hanging out ❜ can I? People would think I was a total loser, and you’d deny it anyway which would just make me look more pathetic! ❞ Again, no specifying if she was or wasn’t, but it wasn’t really cool to be friends with a teenager, especially when they were basically your closest companion. Her fans would have a field day with that information, and her antis even moreso. He just didn’t get it!
He probably wouldn’t even call her his friend in private, let alone public!
His mocking suggestions inspire a scoff as she rolls her eyes, bristling in indignation, and no, she is absolutely not pouting. ❝ Actually, ❞ she stresses the word, ❝ I have a photoshoot today for my side job. And I definitely wanted you to be there. ❞ Bloodletter won’t admit that it’s because she’s modeling pieces made by his very own parents, figuring it’d be funny to see his reaction and simultaneously useful to get his opinions. ❝ I’ll treat you to lunch afterwards if you want— you can pick where. ❞
❝ Also I can’t believe you’d even think I’d take you grocery shopping— we both know you do all of that for me when you come over anyway, unless you thought I’d bring you to the convenience store to pick up some bento and ramen. No thanks! You’d just bite my damn dead off again if I even reached for one in your presence! ❞

Original Work
That Frightful Nest Inside the Throat by whereveryouroam
Part 1 of That Dreadful Clockwork Beats Below
Living horses were in vogue among the high and mighty of the great families, but Peter’s new owners had sent proud motorhorses, clicking over in a blur of cogs and wheels, to draw the carriage. It was a very nice carriage - plush and cushioned. He couldn’t help but think this was sinister. Masters didn’t transport slaves in finery. At least, not slaves like him.
Peter’s spent years under the cruelty of masters who want the Monster inside him to become their weapon. He is quite sure that Lord and Lady Arken will be no different.
Percy Jackson
Through rose-colored glasses (the past is perfect) by Mo13
Part 1 of Rose-colored glasses verse
Luke/Percy were in a non-consensual 'relationship' when Percy was twelve. Percy deals with the aftermath, while constantly convincing himself that his relationship with Luke was fine (IT WAS NOT). Mostly cooperates with canon up to the end of Heroes of Olympus.

i am OBSESSED with the bruised ego verse. thank you for singlehandedly kickstarting the long gone bnha brainrot xD
anyway!!! u mentioned derecho x endeavor shipping bc of their first meeting and uuh i was wondering how did said meeting go? and is derecho, at some point, interested in him? (doubt it bc toshi's being a cutie patootie but a girl can dream xD)
anyway, love you! hope you're having a wonderful day/night!
The air gets hotter — like a blast from an open oven — on an already hot afternoon.
You're unimpressed.
This guy is #2? This is the Endeavor that Toshinori insisted you have to behave around?
First of all... What're they feeding the boys at U.A. High? Testosterone booster smoothies with every meal? C'mon.
Enji Todoroki towers over you — he's built like a brick-shit-house with a scowl mean enough to scare away most. You can tell from first glance he's a force of nature. Toshi always speaks highly of him, yet always wishes Enji was a little kinder. A little softer.
"He scares the damn kids, Derecho," he told her a few weeks ago.
His arms are crossed. There are flames licking at the air around him. Less like a halo and more like a crown of thorns. Minus all that martyrdom shit.
You tilt your head as you take him in.
Your unnerved, blank stare is beginning to make Enji uncomfortable.
"You must be Derecho," he rumbles dryly.
Your eyes rake up his figure. He's all muscle. Clearly strong. Very fast. His quirk is powerful — an element-based ability, just like your own. Nice costume. He's got big arms. Pretty turquoise eyes. If he wasn't such a jack-ass, he could be hot.
...Ha, ha. Get it?
He feels like he's suddenly under a microscope. His ears are hot.
It's not like there are sides to pick. All Might is #1. He will be for a long time. No one even comes close to your Toshinori in the rankings, not even this emotionally constipated schmuck. You feel a blaring flash of loyalty rising in your chest as you leans back and inspect his face.
Behind you both, the unplanned, improvised team-up is being wrapped up by local police. The perp was caught and you both worked decently well together; all things considered, Enji was impressed. He knew you were good, but not that good. Decent communication, easy adaptability, and quirk synchronicity came easy between the two of you for never having met.
...You're not what he thought.
"All Might told me about you," you offer plainly. You're still sizing him up.
Of course he did.
Enji feels his lip twitch at the mere mention of the blonde. He grits out, "That's kind of him."
"He was right, y'know," you say as you back up, looking to resume your solo patrol route; you're breaking away from him, clearly unswayed by the reporters and journalists clamoring for a statement, "You do scare the kids."
...
What the fuck—
— a reference to this fic here ;
