so I've been poking around r/therian a bit, and while there does seem to some experiential overlap, I think I still consider myself ""adjacent"".

like, I certainly have a sense of felininity, I feel very peer-to-peer with my cats, I have a favorite catfood that I like to eat, and I would very like to be pregnant with kittens and have my own litter,

but I don't know that I *am* felidae ya know? seems idk more of an 'aspect'? Not quite a fursona as it feels a bit deeper and less recreational. And not an alter as it feels almost more of an overlay sort of, or perhaps a "lens"

I don't think I get species dysphoria because maybe wanting feline agility is related to getting old and having back and knee challenges? is maybe wanting feline level hearing due to my tinnitus/hearing loss?

I would like a tail though...but do I feel sad or missing without it? IDK?

The BDSM terminology like "kitty space" or "cat space" seems apt, but also sometimes it comes forward on it's own and takes conscious effort not to go there (like if I'm trying to work or something) - from what I've read, this doesn't quite align with what Therians call "shifting" so IDRK

And while I'm really seeking community over labels, maybe "Catgirl" is still the best term I have idk

i got invited to a friendsgiving event and it's my first time getting invited to a gathering in my adult life :) nervous bc i don't know how to act in social situations with people i don't know but i am hoping i will be able to chat and make a new friend or two! i'm going to pick up a dessert variety pack bc it was last minute and i don't have eggs or butter at home to make anything (oops) i'm excited and i feel very happy that i was included!!!
