My extremely late contribution to week 12 of the Ineffable Prompt-A-Thon by @ineffablyruined is a stained glass window featuring our favorite (un)holy beings. Well, not just my contribution, since that beautiful Latin poem was written by the wonderful @snognes. Thank you so much, you literal angel on earth, I'm forever in your debt 🥰

Thanks to this post by @fuckyeahgoodomens, I found out that the 1941 church scene was filmed in the St. Saviour's Anglican Church in Claremont, Cape Town, South Africa. Lucky for us, they have a website with a gallery page, which includes many of their beautiful stained glass windows, including this one:

PS: I actually did go through the trouble of drawing all the intricate stonework around the glass panes; in fact, that’s the very first thing I did! But honestly, I’ve been working on this piece for so long that at this point I just wanted to get it over with and didn't feel like doing all that additional color and shading work... so black void it is lol.

I might revisit this at a later date and perhaps do a little gif or something of like, the sun shining through in different way over the course of a day...

Okay, but the take that God made Crowley a demon to punish the rest of the fallen angels explains SO MUCH.

A 'mysterious source' just told me that while heaven and hell suck, he'd die if he were crowley or aziraphale's employer and. like. That's so true?

Beelzebub: But you try dealing with ze demon Crowley for a day.

Okay, that would be a hilarious, massive plot twist.

The Metatron masterfully separated Crowley and Aziraphale because they are too strong together only to find that their combined miracles are the only way to kickstart the Second Coming. He then proceeds to spend all of Season 3 as their middle school best friend, running notes back and forth trying to just get them to talk to each other.

Evil's plans contain the seeds of its own destruction, indeed.

I'm sure this has been said before, but for some reason it just struck me...

"The plans for Armageddon are going wrong. Only Crowley and Aziraphale working together can hope to put it right. And they aren't talking."

...why on Earth (or Elsewhere) would they want to make the plans for Armageddon go right?

1941 fic for surprise valentine: He wants

I wrote this fic for the wonderful @kotias for the @goodomensafterdark surprise valentine 2024 last week and thought I'd pop it here too, because I've been seeing some gorgeous 1941 artwork and I'm feeling inspired!

I took the prompts "1941" and" pining" and, well, as the summary says :)

He wants

Rated: Explicit Summary: Mutual Pining in 1941 (that's pretty much it!)

Excerpt:

Aziraphale’s fingers grip the old leather bag that houses an irreplaceable collection just spared by the miracle of a demon. And he wants to know why.

He wants to know why, when the ground would have scorched Crowley’s soles with a molten heat, the demon had entered the church? With no other intention, it seems, than to spare an angel’s discorporation and a stack of antique books.

The side of his forefinger is alight, the barely perceptible brush of his skin against the demon’s, as the precious cargo had been handed over, igniting a different kind of want in Aziraphale.

My vote? He'll have to admit that he needs Aziraphale.

He's shown time and time again that he wants him. "Run away together," "a group of the two of us," he says. But, has he ever accepted that he needs Aziraphale? I don't think so. Because a demon needing an angel? Holy weakness, Batman.

And Crowley is an optimist at heart. He believes the universe will take care of him. So, having to admit he needs Aziraphale to stop the Second Coming and that he can't just go it alone with the universe having his back? I think that's going to be how his pride will change - it will need to shift to include another being, to admit that he can't do everything alone.

So running on the theory that our beloved guys are mirroring Pride and Prejudice—Aziraphale as prejudice, Crowley as pride—how does this resolve? Aziraphale has to get over his prejudice and realize that Heaven is just as flawed as Hell, but what about Crowley? Has he not already given up his pride by his confession to Aziraphale at the end of S2? No, because that was simply a version of Mr Darcy’s terrible Act II marriage proposal.

So what still needs to happen to Crowley? Is there’s something else still going on? Is he really sneaking around in the tactical turtleneck operating on his own plans, which we just haven’t seen yet? Do those all need to come crashing down around him before he realizes they need to stop hiding things from one another?

Argh! I'm in love with each and every version of him, seriously! 🥰

Finally got those new custom designed and printed torsos in the mail today! I might talk about the creative process if/whenever I'll have more time. Feel free to ask about anything you want to know.

Just saying that those bloody coattails were a piece of work! These (and all the failed previous attempts) took me ages. This version (printed paper, scotch tape, tiny scissors, and some very creative cursing) is probably the fifth or sixth idea/solution I tried and the first one that actually provided a result to my liking! *sobbing and making desperate noises* Wahoo!

Mini!Crowley: "Do I look like a bookseller now?" Mini!Aziraphale: "You foul fiend, stop messing with my books!" Me: "That's not what I would have focused on, but whatever. I'll leave you two to it and get some coffee!"
