"now." matt says again and i stay still. he gets out of the car onto the highway and walks around the car to my door and opens it quickly, picking me up aggressively.

he places me on the grass next to the car, nobody on the highway can see us since are covered by the van.

YOU PLACE YOUR hands on kate's shoulders as you gently push her to sit down on the cushioned chair before you.

"remind me again why i let you do this?" she jokes, referring to how she gave you permission to do a light makeup look on her for the 2024 wnba draft.

"because you love me and i'm the best makeup artist in the world?" you shrug with a slight pour on your lips.

"oh right," she smiles, "that."

you stand in front of kate as you dig through your makeup bag on the table beside you. she sat patiently, gazing up at you as you work swiftly. her large hands found comfort on your hips as you temporarily towered over her.

kate didn't want anything too heavy, as she wasn't big on makeup. you settled, of course, also agreeing that a subtle makeup look would be a better fit for her.

"what's that?" the blonde asks as you work on her lashes.

by now, you had already applied light layers of skin tint and blush, not too much so as to not hide her gorgeous freckles.

"an eyelash comb, it makes the mascara less clumpy," you explain as you brush through her long lashes.

you were so focused on the task at hand that you failed to notice the way kate had been staring at you with nothing but adoration. you also hadn't noticed that when you braced yourself by placing a hand on kate's jawline, she slowly leaned into your touch.

when you finished touching up her lashes, you took a step back to admire your work, or more realistically, your girlfriend in general.

she sat there like a little puppy looking into your eyes lovingly with a small smile on her face. seeing her expression made you mirror her grin, falling victim to her dreamy blue eyes.

"you're so cute," you giggle as you watch her blush even behind the pink you had brushed on earlier.

"thanks for doing this, baby," kate says looking in the mirror next to her, "i actually look presentable."

"oh please," you scoff, "you're so much more than presentable. even without makeup. it's, like, almost rude how naturally beautiful you are."

"c'mere," she mumbles, pulling you closer to her by grabbing your belt loops.

you lean down and embrace the kiss, smiling as you feel her lips fit perfectly with yours. but it made you remember you had one more step to do.

pulling away with wide eyes you exclaim, "i forgot about your lips!"

"should i be offended?" she jokes, placing a hand on her chest in pretend hurt.

you simply laugh and shake your head before reaching into your purse to retrieve the lip products you use on yourself.

she can't help but smile at the ticklish feeling of your smooth lip liner against her skin.

"don't move, baby," you whisper, focused on not messing up.

she stays silent, not wanting to interrupt. however, she can't help herself when she gets the idea to tease you even further.

once you finish lining her lips and swiping on some lipgloss, she immediately starts attacking your face with light kisses - your cheeks, your temple, your jaw, everywhere.

"kate!" you yelp at the feeling, "you're gonna mess up your lips!"

"well then you can fix them up for me," she mumbles against your skin.

you can't help but laugh as you just let her continue kissing you, the sound consuming kate's senses.

she backs up from you, tilting her head up to smile her biggest smile yet.

"what?" you chuckle.

"i love it when you laugh," she says honestly.

"stop," you blush.

"i love it even more when i'm the one making you laugh," she adds.

"i can't believe i get to be a 'wag' to the best basketball player ever," you sigh in content. as you begin packing up your makeup products.

"if i even get drafted," kate grumbles to herself.

"quit it with that," you demand, "you're the most talented yet stubborn person i know. you have to be more confident in yourself."

"fine," she says, "only so i can help you fulfill your dream of being a 'wag.'"

I can't help but wonder about your One Piece OC! I know you've mentioned that he's a mature person in the crew, but do you see him as more of a sibling/parental role to Luffy, or is he part of the shenanigans with usopp/chopper/luffy, or is he like tired uncle like Jinbei (or secretly amused like zoro) ? I am eager to hear about where he meshes in with crew especially luffy

I also can't help but wonder if our first mate gets jealous of him often. You mentioned that you do, but I think about like what if some days luffy just misses Ace, and luff will stare at Jean a lot more sometimes or just hover around him just to relive being with his brother *cries*

Ahhh!! Im so happy and excited every time I get question about my OCs (❤´艸｀❤) Thank you for taking interest and being curious about Jean!

To answer. He is more of big brother type. Not just to Luffy but to everyone. Even the older mature straw hats. Jean just have so much love to give, growing up not knowing much about the world, isolated and thinking himself to be a slave until death. It really is Luffy and the strawhats who saved him and his fellow slaves so, he's enthusiastic in showing them how much he cares for them. how thankful he is to them for saving him, and along with that, his life. So he spoils everyone like this cool doting brother.

I'm actually planning to make one paged comic series ( kind of like 4 koma? ) in his interactions with the strawhats. As well as discovering more of the world. little sneak peek with Sanji ( ignore the cross. i changed that to a locket )

Here, Jean becomes the big brother Sanji dreamed and should have had. At first it annoys Sanji to no end even saying stuff like " gross, dont touch me. its weird! " but Jean is so gentle towards the crew, even helping Sanji wash the dishes, even cleaning the kitchen at night to surprise Sanji that eventually, Sanji accepts Jean. And finally allows himself to be spoiled. Even bringing out that side of Sanji that longs for a caring brother. One he only dreamed back then.

Jean has that ability to let everyone's hidden side of wanting to be spoiled and Jean is all to happy to do so. He is just so happy to be there with everyone. That he never really asks for anything in return.

As for Zoro being made Jealous by Jean. Yes he does that. but there is a moment only the three of them knows. Its when Luffy gets nightmares about Ace every now and then. most of the time he can deal with it, but there are times he's so shaken. When Jean wasn't around yet, it's Zoro trying to calm him down. But when jean arrived, the three of them found out that, despite being freaked out by jean and Ace looking alike, Jean helps Luffy calm down due to his voice being exactly like Ace's. Along with it, Jean's hugs is just one of the best. Even beating hugs from Jinbei. There's a strange therapeutic effect.

Here is a comic I doodled quickly just now to show that.

I still wanted to emphasize the eerie feeling from Jean and Ace's similarities are so the comic ended up a bit off. (laughs) please forgive me!

Every time this happens, Luffy does apologize to Jean for asking him to 'talk' like Ace. He knows it's wrong, but honestly, Jean would do anything to calm Luffy. and He knows Luffy doesn't mean it and that he's just suffering, So Jean is very patient with him and never really feels offended at all.

• Dazai would be best for you! That mix of crazy but relatable seems to be something you enjoy, and what no better the the freakster himself. He’s not to mean to not care though, so that’s why I gave you him!

• Dazai is very carefree, and will either mess around with you to make you forget about your troubles, or take care of things himself (usually without you knowing). He somewhat take you under his wing in a way.

• He’s also the type to tell it like it is, sharing a bit of positivity here and there. It goes nice with your realism.

•He’s also very passionate and often hyperfixates on things! Like suicide for example. He wants to do a double suicide with you lmao.

• Dazai is a curious cat, and often likes to hear the gossip. He serves absolute cunt for that. The two of you love to share tea and learn tea from others too! Honestly, it’s probably the thing that got you two connected to each other at first, if Dazai didn’t already try to flirt with you.

• Instead of really going blank like you do, Dazai’s mind is constantly running and he’ll happily bring you back down to Earth if you need it. Simple daydreams he’ll let slide if you guys aren’t on any missions or something important.

• Most of his jokes are really funny, and theirs just other times he’s funny without even realizing it. He thinks you’re too adorable to not get a chuckle out of, and sometimes he’ll break down laughing if you say something out of left field. It’s hilarious!

• Dazai used to be a really strict guy, but nowadays he’s more chilled out. You wouldn’t need to go through that strict nonsense again. If you ever bring it up with Dazai, he’ll try even harder to be more of a good person. It just reminds him that where he is now is best.

• He loves showering people in compliments, and you’re no different! He compliments anytime he gets! Though brings it back during more intimate moments.

• While he may not be able to wrap his head around your anxiety of other people too much, he just validates it as a huge difference you two have, and gladly confides in you when you need someone to speak for you.

• He can be a little tone deaf sometimes, and if you ever talk about feeling down he’ll probably mention the double suicide thing again. PLEASE dont EVER listen to him,

• In actuality, I’d say to try a hand at the bright side! You have a loving boyfriend and a loving community within the Armed Detective Agency. They’re basically your guard dogs by the way, if you aren’t already a part of their group.

• Fuck other people who don’t want to hear you yap about shit! Dazai LOVES hearing you talk about your passions! Very rarely does he stop you, and he likes to ask follow up questions just to fuel the obsession! He’s a great person to talk to when you start to hyperfixate on something.

• Dazai mostly leaves you alone if you ask, but he’s also kinda clingy. Just don’t be away for too long, or he’ll get more and more needy.

• Dazai is a strong believer that it doesn’t matter what you wear! He’s the kind of guy that thinks you look good in everything, and will always find something about your outfit that he loves the most.

• He’s definitely a pretty boy, and well..he came from the mafia, so he definitely still has an edge to him. Some of his tendencies can even linger from time to time. I’d say he’s your type!

• He loves going out and about when he can, especially for walks! It would be the perfect date for the two of you to walk around and enjoy yourselves, most likely talking about something for hours on end to the point where Kunikida would call you guys and ask where the hell you were.

Dazai can be very patient, and I’d say he’s the perfect boyfriend for you that is willing to be your shoulder to cry on, as well as an anchor. Just don’t mind him being a little screwed up in the head. <3

your My Hero Academia matchup is… EIJIRO KIRISHIMA !!

• Kirishima would be best for you! Kaminari is a close second, though I figured he may be too silly for your liking.

• Now, I figure you’d be looking forward to having a villain for your match, however, you also said you wanted someone who you could relate and confide in. Almost all of the villains (except for maybe Toga) would not give a shit or understand why you need that shoulder to lean on. If any of them do care it’s most likely for a manipulative reason. I would’ve probably picked Toga if it weren’t for your preference. Hopefully that makes sense!

• You may bump heads with Kirishima from time to time, especially during times where Kirishima is way too nice. Not every relationship is perfect though, and from this he can possibly teach you to liven up sometimes, as much as you teach him to be more grounded.

• He’s a chill and lax guy, and will definitely help you calm down in any situation you need a hand on. He’s honestly the best at pep talk and lending a reassuring hand. As such, he’ll never get to exhausted will how many times you fall back down to the ground. He’ll always be there to get you back up again!

• Kirishima is also really passionate about the things he loves! He adores to hear you talk about thing, similar to Dazai. He’d be especially appreciative if you let him yap about his aspirations too!

• His humor is a lot like yours, and basically what the whole Baku Squad finds funny! Aside from Bakugou himself of course, cause just a dick. I can definitely see you being a part of their friend group though!

• Kirishima hate being super strict, but understands restrictions on some things for everyone’s safety. As long as you aren’t doing anything that will cause you or others harm, he doesn’t mention anything. What’s the bother anyway?

• Kirishima has tough skin, literally, and will become your shield metaphorically and literally. He hates seeing you cry, I breaks his heart so bad. He’d take over the world to make you happy!

• A part of me feels like Kirishima might have his own lingering depression by just how much he tries to fit himself in. Please just have his back as much as he has yours.

• In his eyes, there’s no such thing as daydreaming to much..unless you’re in literal danger but i doubt that would be the case. Daydreaming is a healthy coping mechanism. Sure it can distract from important things, but there’s worse things you could be doing. Especially during those times where you want to be occupied in your own world, Kirishima will give you space.

• The fact you get angry easily? Well, it’s not the first time he’s dealt with someone like that, heh. I’m sure you’re a lot more tame than you-know-who.

• Kirishima is a GREAT listener. I swear he picks up on everything and remembers a lot. He definitely keeps track of your needs and wants. Gifts, if you’re into that, are very thoughtful as well.

• He loves giving out hugs! Sometimes they might be very random, but hey, if you like hugs that much it shouldn’t be a problem. For him your softer body makes it even better!

• Much like Dazai, Kirishima loves to be out and about doing stuff, whatever gets the blood going! Unlike Dazai though, he only goes out when he has the free time. If he has work to do, he’ll most likely postpone his time with you. It’s worth the wait though, because you guys end up having a wonderful time together!

How long have you sat in the tub? You quietly count the shower tiles in your mind with heavy, tired eyes, tapping the glass bottle with no rhythm, paying no heed to the sudden sound of footsteps coming close to the shower.

"Hey," the sound of the curtains drew back a bit, catching your eyes as soft lighting peeked in alongside a notorious pair of blues and tufts of mulberry pink hair. They stared, gazing over your form that hid in the shade of the curtains before coming back to your face with silence. Legend crouched beside the tub, holding a tight grip on the curtains to keep the light from barging in.

"Do you need anything?" He asks quietly.

"You," your voice croaked, "I just...need you."

Legend quietly watches you, eyes flickering to the bottle that the finger never ceased to tap on. Listening to the soft clinks as seconds continue to pass. He gives a silent, outstretched hand, gesturing patiently for the bottle. With a weak grip, you slid it into his grasp, watching as he got up, muffled footsteps, hearing him open a cabinet and firmly shut it.

Legend comes back into view, giving his hand out to you with a wiggle of his fingers. An amused huff left your lip, ignoring the silent victory that painted his own features as you placed your hand in his. With a firm grip, he slowly hauls you up from the tub, placing his other hand, supporting you, on your back.

He rubs in an up-and-down motion, placing his cheek against your head, humming a soft melody that slowly soothed away your woes. Slowly swaying you side-to-side while rubbing the back of your hand with his thumb, pressing your ear to his chest to hear his strong heartbeat that grounded you, a rhythm so beautiful than the one that had none.

"Do you want to change?" Legend inquiries softly.

"Shorts, please," you mumbled into his shoulder, nuzzling deep into his neck and heavily breathing in his scent, then releasing with a heavy exhale.

"I'll be right back; anything else?"

"Just you,"

"Very well, I'll be quick."

Legend makes his way out of the bathroom before halting underneath the door frame, turning back around to place a hand against your cheek and placing a kiss against your forehead, your cheek, then finally, your lips. Short but sweet to make you want more of his affections; you know he's not very open about them, hiding it underneath a tough exterior though you know he gives with all his heart.

It doesn't matter either way cause you know it's for you and nobody else. Legend presses one more kiss to your lips and exits the bathroom with a resounding promise,

"Once you change, we'll cuddle on the couch and do whatever else you like, okay? It's going to get better cause I'm here for you every step of the way."

Amity lie on Luz's bed, staring at the bottom of the mattress above it. Luz had taken the others out to look around, but Amity wanted to stay at the house.

Everything had been fine, but then Amity started to yearn something. She was in a massive lee mood.

She didn't exactly know why, but she knew she wanted to be tickled. But the only other person in the house was Camila.

Amity felt embarrassed just thinking about asking her. How would she even do it? Would she just waltz up and say, 'Oh hey, Mrs. Luz's Mom! Can you please tickle me?'

She sighed. She honestly was just scared to be made fun of. The others would've laughed at her for asking. She knew they weren't trying to be mean, but it made her a little upset.

Working up motivation, Amity stood and walked into the living room. Camila was sitting on the couch, watching TV. Nervously, Amity walked over and sat down too.

Camila smiled at her, "Hello, I thought you went out with Luz?" Camila said. Amity rubbed her arm, "I-I wanted to stay here." She stammered.

Camila blinked, her eyes suddenly sprouting with concern, "Are you okay? You seem so.. tense." She said.

She reached out, and light touched Amitys shoulder, pulling back a little as the girl flinched. Amitys face went red, "Im so sorry, ma'am!" She said.

Camila smiled at her, "It's okay." She said. She sat up and reached out to Amity again. This time, the girl didn't flinch. "Are you okay?" Camila asked again.

Amity sighed, "Yeah, I just dont really know how to talk to parents, I guess. Mine didn't exactly pay attention to me." She shrugged.

Camila frowned, "Well, I'll just have to make sure I pay sooo much attention to you!" She teased, giving Amity a little squeeze on her side.

The girl giggled at the touch. Camila blinked, "Are you ticklish? I think Luz said something about that." Amitys face went red, "She did? Oh Titan! Who else did she tell?!" Amity asked.

Camila chuckled, "It's okay, only me." She reassured. Amity took a deep breath, "Since we're on that topic, I came out here because i had a.. question.?" She said.

Camila smiled, "Okay, what is it?" She asked, patiently staring at the girl. A blush appeared on Amitys face, "Can you.. tigle me...." She muttered the last part.

Camila blinked, "Im sorry, can you say that again?" Amitys face got redder, "Can you.. tickle me?" She asked a little louder. This time, Camila heard.

The woman smiled, "Of course, Mija. I love spending time with you kids." Camila had gotten up to look for the remote, as Amity waited. She felt oddly excited.

"So, how'd you and Luz meet?" Camila asked, still searching. Amity frowned, "Well.. I may or may not have tried to get her dissected..?" She said awkwardly.

Camila picked up the remote, eyes wide. "What?!" She exclaimed. Amitys ears flattened, "Im really sorry!" She said.

Camila turned off the TV. "Well, I can see you've both made up for it. Though, you need a punishment." She said, cracking her fingers.

Amity sat nervously. Camila suddenly pounced onto the girl, squeezing her sides. Amity sqeaked before bursting into giggles.

"Waahahait!" Amity giggled. Camila raised an eyebrow, "Nope! If im going to pay attention to you, I'll make sure you get the best treatment!" She joked.

She scribbled her fingers over Amity's belly, causing more giggles to spill out of the girl. Amitys face was red, her ears flapping every now and then.

Camila chuckled with the girl. "You should laugh more. it's good for you, you know!" She teased. Camila shot her hands into Amitys underarms, which got a bigger reaction.

"NOHOohoho! NOHOHohoOt ThehreheRe!" Amity giggled, squriming around. "Okay then, so I guess I'll try here instead!" Camila said, raising her hands and lightly scribbling her fingers on Amitys ears.

This sent Amity into louder giggles "NOHOOHOHO!" She squealed. Camila giggled, "Luz said you had sensitive ears, but I didn't think this sensitive!" She teased.

Amity scrunched her nose, "JERHEHERK!" She said. Camila let out a dramatic gasp. "How dare you! Weren't you told to respect your elders? You deserve a bigger punishment!"

She pulled away from Amitys ears and pulled up her shirt a little, exposing her stomach. Before Amity could react, Camila blew a raspberry onto her belly. This sent Amity into hysterics.

"NOHOHOHO! *snort* PLEHEHEAS!" Amity said, unable to hold her snorts. "Please, what? Please keep going? Okay!" Camila said. Luz was definitely her kid.

Camila blew another raspberry, getting more giggly snorts out of Amity. "MERHEHERECY!" Amity begged.

Camila shook her head, "Not till I get my apology!" She said.

"IHIHM-" Amity was cut off by another raspberry onto her stomach. "Sorry, what was that?" She said.

"IHIHIHIM *snort* SOHOHORY!" Amity said, trying to squirm away, but Camilas grip was tight. "That's better!" Camila said.

Before she let go, she took one last deep breath and blew a large raspberry onto Amity belly, sending her into loud giggly snorts one last time.

Finally, she let Amity go, rubbing her stomach to get rid of the ghost tickles. Amity sat up, still letting out a few giggles, "Thank you." She said.

Camila smiled, "Of course. And if you ever need anything, Im always here for you." Camila said.

Amity blinked, smiling as small tears pricked the corners of her eyes, "Thank you. Again." She said.

Hesitantly, she scooted closer to Camila, lightly leaning on her. Smiling, Camila wrapped her arm around Amity, pulling the girl close.

Amity closed her eyes, smiling happily. At least now she had somebody else to be there for her, she thought to herself, before drifting asleep.

i thought you disliked nat because you said your friend thought you disliked her bc she was a doctor, but it makes sense if you’ve had bad experiences with healthcare professionals and are reminded of them when you see doctors. personally i love when people who work in healthcare actually care about the patients they have because it’s quite literally life saving and sooo many of them dont give a fuck, that’s why i adore natasha a lot. it’s totally fine if you’re not attracted to her, you don’t have to be!

September 2024 Patreon Announcements

September rolls around (again)! This month is notable because it's been a bit more than a year since I started streaming again. Time keeps on flying, for better and worse. :V

After the usual announcements, I can go into more detail about How Things Are Going at the end for those who are interested!

The Next Sequence has been Decided. It is a David (from Lilo and Stitch) Stuffing sequence! I will attempt to find time to at least start it this month.

Commissions are still Open! Comms are still a bulk of my monthly income, so i'm still accepting submissions, even if you're already on the list! I understand the wait time is long, but all commissioners are free to add to, adjust, or change orders they've already made at any time! Just contact me to discuss it. A new Reward Request Post will be going up! Patrons are free to leave one in there even if you already have one from last month's! July's requests will have expired though! I've managed to get all the appliances that needed replacing replaced, (ie. the fridge), but I still got a few months left on the bigger dental bills. The final payments for those are in november, after which, I can focus on paying off the credit card bills that have been piling up, and possibly to have some savings at some point. Others will be done in January, so it'll be a good while before I'm free from those. :V

All patreon fills were made free back in May, and I'm pleased that decision didn't reduce patreon income by a huge amount (roughly 100 bucks monthly, which was in reasonable expectations). It's much easier on me, having a less strict deadline, while giving me less to do in regards to making pieces available and whatnot.

I'm enjoying streaming, and really appreciate those who are keeping me company. Ya'll have been great support~, which has been great at keeping me working more consistently.  As for commissions progress... I'm roughly halfway down the list! Which, honestly, is not saying a whole lot when the list must get longer every month by necessity. We're getting close to passing the 1 year waiting time for some people, which im very sorry for, but I'm still doing my best to keep a steady pace! I'm shooting for 3-4 commissions completed a month. Thanks to everyone whose been patient and supportive.

That said, my aunt is still job hunting. We're hoping she'll have meaningful employment by this month. Not 100% sure about how this month will go, but i guess we'll have to see! I'll have to pick up more slack if things dont go our way. Still no news from the landlord, so im just assuming they are satisfied with our work so far with the apartment.

Hey! I love your Beetlejuice stories on A03, all of them are wonderful. Do you have any tips on writing the Maitlands? You write them so well, keeping them sweet while giving them depth.

you're so sweet! this got super long so its under a cut. please keep in mind that these are my interpretations of canon and you might disagree and that's totally fine!

Lemme break these into specifics for each one cause while theyre a matching set and should not be separated they're also pretty different! Barbara- the more out going one between the two of them, more willing to jump into new situations. i think of her as someone adam can lean on, and because of that their marriage is a little non traditional, despite what beej might say, since she's the one more likely to do things that scare her and sort of lead the two of them. barbara should be sweet, empathetic, and very patient, but also willing to put her foot down when it matters. she's a doormat no more. between the two of them, she's the one more interested in arts. while she might not like making pottery i think she's the more creative one - she apparently also started and gave up oil painting (the painting she smashes) i read her as someone who comes from religious trauma but that also might just be me putting my own baggage on her. she just feels like someone who would/could have been more outgoing if she hadnt been raised in a very traditional way, where women are a step below their husbands. i dont think that believe holds true in her marriage obviously but it's engrained to some degree that she needs to behave like the perfect wife/mother. this could also be part of where her anxiety about being a mother stems from (this part obviously is VERY personal to me and her character may not read that way to you, i acknowledge this i headcannon territory here) she's also willing to push adam into things that make him nervous, because she does want her husband to stand up for her. (that moment when beej is having his soliloquy, if you watch her she's arguing with adam and telling him to say something to beetlejuice, and that's the reason why adam interrupts him) in general i think she finds things that are odd and unusual to be more funny and interesting than scary - her laughing at beetlejuice's antics in the attic a lot come to mind. Adam - the more shy one. adam is someone who i read as having a fairly heavy degree of social anxiety (there are strangers downstairs! i didn't like strangers when i was alive-) and because of that he tends to overthink and be in his own head too much. adam's fatal flaw might be that he wants to sit down and puzzle through things instead of reacting. while it's good to keep a clear head sometimes you do need to react in the moment and stand up for yourself (which he learns by the end! go adam!!!) adam loves working with his hands. while barbara creates, adam maintains. he restores furniture and does woodworking. i do like to mix movie adam with musical adam a bit, because in the movie adam owns a hardware shop, and i think that vibe also fits musical adam as well. adam leans on barbara a lot - when beej is asking them to hire him, he looks helplessly to barbara, and he's always willing to follow her lead. in a sense she wears the pants, but it doesn't read as emasculating to me - barb's strength is leading and adam's is supporting. does not like to yell or wish people unwell. THAT GUY!! NEEDS!! therapy, i hope he gets the help he needs :( to me this, combined with him honestly thinking beej might be his dad for a moment, reads as someone who had a very turbulent early childhood. a negligent or possibly abusive father who disappeared early enough in his life that adam doesn't remember his face. maybe he doesnt like to yell because that's what his own father did, and he doesnt want to be like his dad. he wants to be better than that. his not knowing his father could also lead into his fear of becoming one - he didn't have a strong father figure growing up, and he's never had that behavior modeled for him

The Maitlands as one - they should be like two halves of a whole. barb might lead, but she never steps on adam. adam might support, but his own impute is never stifled. barbara will encourage adam to be more brave and outgoing. adam will help barbara keep her temper or talk through things that frustrate her. they're so in love it's kinda gross.
