as cringy and rae dun loving, stanley cup hoarding, wine-mom millennial as it was, sometimes the t-shirts that declared don't talk to me until i've had my coffee had a solid point. this morning, for example, being a perfect example, with each passing moment spent waiting in line after the café around the block from his apartment had decide that today, during the morning rush, was the ideal time to train their new barista. "seriously? is this a punk'd reboot, or is an actual, living person legitimately this incompetent at putting liquid in a cup?" the question is murmured to no one in particular, not entirely under his breath.

his previous secretary was gone, and thus, hannibal had had to find a new one. having told everyone she followed her romantic whims all the way to a different country, no one suspected why eleanor had really up and disappeared from existence in a matter of days. hannibal was a trustworthy man ; most believed what he says, oftentimes even eating up his charm and his words. after a month, the receptionist's desk was finally filled, though despite hannibal's best efforts, dani hadn't opened up to him much. he'd gotten her a welcome basket with fine cheeses and a bottle of wine ; he'd tried to make conversation between sessions. but she remained polite, and quiet. exiting his office, hannibal slides his arms into the sleeves of his coat, stepping up to dani's desk with a warm grin. 'i know the morning has been busy, but i've had a cancellation for the next hour, and so i was hoping you might join me for an early lunch,' hannibal stares down at the woman. 'i'd greatly appreciate the company,' @frightes.
