Personal reviews on RSL filmography

Rsl, iI thought it’d be a good idea to record my thought on each films rsl was in, it was something I always wanted to do...

Rsl in total, was starred in (excluding tv series etc) 27-ish films, to be honest, considering his years as an actor(approximately more than 30 years) he wasn’t starred in that many. We all know why lol

Just saying I’m not a film expert, therefore the list is very subjective.

The reviews with trigger warning (r*pe, g*re etc): Tape, Killer: Journal of Murder, A glimpse of hell. Tho in the writing I’ve censored them with * since I don’t feel comfortable saying them here

There isn’t particular spoilers except for dps, tape, and ground control

The favourites (literally my life time films)

Dead Poets Society

I assume many would agree, and as many would have, it was my first ever rsl film, like I was on the plane and it was one of the films they offered, and I was like, oh I think i heard of this, so I watched and instantly loved it. The message is very relevant to this day, the cinematography is very beautiful and somehow nostalgic. I was horrified with Neil’s death. Tbh now I’ve seen too many memes and all kind of things from the fandom (which I’m grateful for!) I thought the heartfelt I once had would deluded a bit, however when I watched it again last April with my family at the cinema and it still moved me very deeply.

The age of Innocence

Okay, unpopular opinion here, I love this so much. It’s my all time favourite rsl film. It even outruns dps tiny winy bit haha. Aside from how he had tiny winy screen time, appearing at the end but the fact that he played quite an important role and him being gorgeous in it just<33 I couldn’t help but smiling! It just the whole film was so much of my cup of tea? The melodrama and the hypocrisy hidden by elegance among the upper social classes in 19th century is just what I needed. The more I watch it, the more I understand the characters and their emotions, it’s one of those films you should keep visit to discover the things you weren’t aware of before. I watched it again this morning and i couldn’t stop thinking about it. However, I know some people find it boring and I understand why, my sister is one of them lol(except for a bit where rsl was in) but i think it’s more complex than what it appears to be at a first glance haha. In conclusion, it became one of my comfort film to watch time to time. 

The ones I like<33

Swing kids

At first viewing, I didn’t expected much because it had underwhelming reviews but when I actually saw it, I thought it was quite decent and more and more I watched it, I felt like it was underrated. Yes, I think some directing choices were bit old fashioned and cheesy especially the ending, I’m not saying it was a perfect masterpiece but it deserves more recognition than it has now. Also in spite that there’re some parts being too simplified, it touched on something other films about ww2 normally don’t. It was interesting to see the German perspective on it than Jewish or the allies perspective like many of them does, but of course the latter perspectives matter, it could be argued that they more valid than the former, which partly was where sk criticised for, however, the portrayal of the varied reactions of the German people (in this one particular the teenagers) has its value in their on way. Anyway along side with it, the music and the dance scenes were great, without exaggeration, though Swing kids isn’t my fav, peter’s solo dance scene is my favourite scene in any movies I’ve ever watched. I mean that scene had both visuals and meaning as it demonstrated Peter’s determination as well as resentment with a hitch of unsureness. Rsl acting in that scene was just phenomenal, it’s not about showing off the dancing skills but he portrayed every mixed emotions peter has from his expression and the moves, I just can’t talk about this enough especially this scene was the reason I started fallen for him. lol

Much ado about nothing

Much ado is something I never seen anything like so it was a refreshing exprience. I barely watched Shakespeare on screen kind of thing. Though I felt there were some bits too cheesy for me but they are also the charms in the same time, and the cinematography was pretty also Claudio aka rsl, it was like an official announcement of declaring my worship on this man. Especially it was after SWING KIDSSSS so I couldn’t help it now everyone knows how I fallen for him but no one can blame meeeeee Anyway, it’s a really good film to watch when you want be relaxed with cup of tea maybe hehe

In the gloaming

I heard about it before I watched it, that it’s a heart wrenching, tearful piece, though I didn’t managed to cry, it’s just.... painful and in a way heartfelt. I liked that story telling was calm and collected rather than forcing you to join the sob party, just showing the characters to carry on. And thanks to the great acting from the cast, the characters could be emphasised and understood, personally the older sister was the most relatable character for me, well, eldest complex lol. In short I liked it but it’s not something I would watch it often.

Last days of Disco

As a person who looks at aesthetic in films, I simply enjoyed this for that tbh. I don’t know, I just liked the feeling. But I don’t think it’d be everyone’s cup of tea. I love the day time clothes the girls wore in the film. Tbh I love the music too, I think I love all the films of rsl with music in it. Speaking about rsl, oh rsl, he’s.... His character might be bit unlikable but he was just.... This is why I can’t unlove his characters even the debatable ones<33

They were decent! (I would recommend it)

Married to it

This is the first and last ever attempt of rsl of romcomssss The film itself is cliche to be frank it’s like love actually but it’s about marriage life + it’s not christmas but I like heartfelt cliche stories like this, if anyone also loves this type of story, it’s really worth watching, it’s one of my comfort films, also, rsl is so pretty I mean he always is but to see him being a office man with a baby face made me go awww my baby grew up heheh I wish he did another romcom like this or more preferably, melodramatic romance, I’d have made a shrine of it and worship it every morning lol

The boys next door

I kind of smiled while watching it throughout, if you want something that is heartfelt and touch on some serious topic about social workers and the people with mental disorder, Rsl plays a character who has (I think it was) Schizophrenia and troubled relationship with his father(Deja vu I know) but general atmosphere tend to be quite humourous. I don’t get me wrong, though it’s light hearted, it doesn’t mean they treat the topic in the same way. There’s a scene where the protagonist imagining the one of the characters with the disorder talking eloquently and honourably at the court on the rights and the dignity of the people with mental disorders deserve to/should have and they’re just the same people as the people without mental disorders. It was a powerful scene.

My two loves

Rsl’s first ever screen debut film! Hehe it’s about a woman who is discovering her sexual identity and the conflicts within I personally thought it was fairly sensible depiction but I can’t say for sure whether it was accurate or else, since I don’t think it’s my place to say it:) But if you’re interested, it’s on YouTube, you can just search for it or go to this post I made. Fun fact: since it was his debut film, it credits him as he’s real name, Robert L. Leonard, I just find it amusing haha

Tape

It’s another type of film I don’t encounter that often, I enjoyed it, especially with Neil and Todd’s reunion lol. Rsl mentioned how he enjoyed it because it felt like doing a play, my first impression was that the structure is like a play, though the camera work made me quite dizzy haha. But the dialogues, the acting, I think it was quite spot on. Especially the human contradictions and hypocrisy side of it. The most people assume the baddie in the film is Jon the character rsl played and has a distaste for him. I mean how can anyone love a character who is accused of r*pe but to be honest, Vincent for me seemed just as problematic, both of them are hypocrites for sure in their own different ways but in the end we can’t be sure what’s really the truth or not. It’s about the vagueness, and phychology and the uncertainty from the audience on who to believe(well, myself included, most would trust on Amy’s claims since she’s the victim in the accusation, but by her denying the claims, making everything way unclear,) so I don’t know. I don’t really have an opinion haha tho I don’t believe nothing happened because Amy denied so, even Umma Thurman who played her, said that her interpretation was that Amy lied. I felt it’s endless rabbit hole this film. Sorry I couldn’t worded it better.

My best friend is a Vampire

It’s cringey and weird but there’re odd charm to it. Vampire rsl’s so cute as well.... and I think it’s the only film, he acted kind of flirty ? So for that itself I’d like to appreciate itttt And it’s so 80s/90s, like it has general odd nostalgia like all films from that age has. I saw a Korean blog about rsl films and this was mentioned, that- they said- it’s a bible of rsl’s adorableness and I think that sum up the film perfectly.

Mr&Mrs Bridge

Before this was in ‘I mean it was fine” category, but I watched it again and now I want to retract my statement lol Still isn’t my fav but I noticed how delicately depicted each characters are, Mr and Mrs Bridge in particular. This film is alternatively about the changes in the young generation regarding liberty, feminism, free expression especially on sex. It’s in the perspective of the bridges, the mother and father who is old fashioned and conservative (as it was normal in their previous generation) and the children who are the young generation, and the misunderstanding and conflicts between them. After all it all happened not only because of the difference but also the lack of communication, which rsl emphasised in his interviews. I found it interesting that they made it seems like the Bridges truly existed with the video footage and (with the ending) describing what happened to each family member in text with photos. When I watched it at first I was really confused if it was based on a real life. I think what they wanted to suggest was that the Bridges every typical American family at the time. It was something everyone was going through. I said previously I didn’t get why Rsl’s character (the youngest in the Bridges) treated his mother so coldly. Honestly I do get why, but I guess I felt so bad so the mother haha

I mean it was fine

The safe passage

It was okay but to be honest it didn’t stood out to me. It was okay. The story, the characters weren’t that interesting. I wish they extended it longer to go depth with their family relationship or something.

A painted house

I find it likeable, it has a chill, old folk story vibe, but same as previous one. it didn’t really stand out except for shirtless rsl, do close ups you cowards

Bluffing it

I was really fond of the premise of this film and I think it has great intention. It was specifically made to promote the awareness of illiteracy and how to get support. However, I don’t get the reason of Jack the protagonist’s illiteracy. Unless, it was common occurrence in America at the time, I feel like it’d have been more convincing if he was in poor family hood, so there was no time to learn at school due to working at young age...? I mean, just finding it hard to believe he passed the high school just like that, I mean the teachers or anyone should have noticed it, maybe I’m missing something here but it seemed unlikely to me.

Ground control

Again, I liked the message, as it depicted how frightening and difficult job the ground controller is, by one mistake could take away the lives of hundreds, especially as someone who goes on planes a lot... But it was quite cliche throughout, I just couldn’t get engaged to it. But I do admit at the end when the protagonist runs off to the landing zone see the pilot who he had just saved, they acknowledged each other and have eye contacts was truly wholesome. Rsl as cocky, bad boy was such a icing on the cake, I loved it so much. Chewing gum in every scene lol I hope he plays these sort of characters more often. I saw someone criticising him saying he has narrow spectrum of just playing nice boy roles like Neil but I really wanted to debunk the narrative and this could be one of the examples! 

Chelsea walls

I knew that this has split reviews but nonetheless I think worth to watch it, 1. Ethan and rsl re union, 2. Ethan is the directer of the film and rsl sing in it. But I have to say, it’s one of those hard to follow art indie film so I couldn’t finish it on one go. I feel like I have to devour it over and over again. Maybe later on I grow fond of it more lol But his character, I loved him so much. He’s just has everyone don’t touch me, I’m a cocky artist vibe, there’s a scene where his annoying friend annoying him and he looks up and says: ‘Fck off’. Absolute golddddd not to mention he sings and plays guitar so beautifully<333

Well... it’s not my cup of tea

The Manhattan project

I don’t think the film it self was that bad, it’s about high school boy who find out the existence of some nuclear energy research lab and stole the energy to make his own nuclear bomb. I just don’t get the thinking process of the protagonist. It really frustrated me. He seemed apathetic and unlikable I disliked him throughout and that’s why I didn’t really enjoyed it. I mean it has humour and ridiculous storyline might be humorous to some. But more importantly there was such little screen time for rsl!! LIKE WHY? WHY PEOPLE?? HE LOOKS LIKE A FRESH HUMAN MOCHI!!! It makes me soooo mad to think about it

Killer: Journal of Murder

Well, first of all, it had a lot of graphic things than I imagined, brutally murd*red bodies, execution, and r*pe scene, gosh I was strucken by it when I saw that, I had to skipped that scene. It’s based on a real event and a real criminal called Carl Panzram, so if you’re aware of it, it might be more intriguiging to see. But personally for me... meh, I don’t think directing was good as it failed to portray it enough for me to comprehend fully.

A Glimpse of Hell

This is also based on a true event of a tragic accident in the us battleship in Iowa in 1989. They shows tragedy lin a blunt, brutal way by showing horribly damaged bodies of the soldiers torn into pieces, all the horrid things directly so be warned about that. I was quite alarmed because i didn’t expect to see it haha there’s no much to say. The film quality was so so for me. I feel their approach wasn’t appropriate, they were clearly trying to make it dramatic which is fine but in a melodramatic emotional way. It didn’t work because first, there aren’t enough portrayal of the characters for me to get attached, secondly it added the unnecessary exaggeration it prevented me from being emotionally involved or even to think about it. In my opinion, I think it’d have been better if they made it more restrained, dry, focus on the accuracy. For example like 1987 or Zodiac, I mean both of them has dramatic elements since they’re not a documentary but they were not overdone, in a contrary added emphasis to their message/conclusion. I know it’s easier said than done but it was something I consistently felt during it.

Standoff

Haha... it’s very peculiar... the directing is off and it just weird. I knew it was bad already but I watched it because rsl as a cop with gunssssssss just... so rare and just.... something else. There’s no way of me missing that seriously. Tbh him doing an action stunt isn’t what I imagine when it comes to him and there’s really any actions scenes anyway but it really was something. Like the character he played here really became my soft spot Hehehehe he was pretty and plus, tbh it’s kind of film I’d make fun of while watching so everything was (alomst) forgivable. There is a recent thing I think about, since this is about a cult, I kind of hope he’d at some day play a role like Eli Sunday from There will be blood: a manipulative, deceitful and maddened priest with twisted faith. Though Paul Dano did a grand job, the idea was in my head the whole time. Well, it’s a shame he wasn’t any of those here lol

Driven

From what I seen, the majority of people seem to unanimously hate this film, and after watching it I became one of those ppl. At least Standoff could be make fun of and rsl held gunssss but this...... I want to say so many things... I feel like they should have chose either fancy, fast paced, thrilling racing film or detailed depiction of emotions/relationships with the racers and people involved in it, I know both can be done, but I think that was outside of their ability, but since they tried to do that at once, it became a mess that doesn’t go either way. And the characters, any of them, including rsl’s are narrow or impossible to understand. I mean rsl did great himself, it was not about acting, the problem lies on the script and editing in my opinion. Also there were so many unnecessary characters made me question of their existence. Luckily rsl’s character isn’t one of them, however because of them, he had to squeeze in and unable to elaborate, which is a shame as he was an interesting character and someone rsl rarely plays; a arrogant and opportunist agent/brother of the protagonist, who would do anything for success... ha.... whyyyyy

This is it. If I watch other stuff I might add to it in the future. Overall, I know I’m biased but I do like His filmography, I do have appreciations in every one of them in different way to the good ones to bad. He may have disagree, but I love his acting on screen, well, I barely seen him on stage (crying)

Edit: as some of you could see, I’ve edited this over and over again haha elaborating on thing or the contrary. I can say with a glimpse of hell I practically managed to watch every rsl films out there lol except for the i inside and the short film he did called a dog race in Alaska. But with the former I’m not interested and already know the storyline, and the latter is just impossible to find, trust me I did my best;; 

So to sum up: I HAVE MASTERED THE RSL FILMOGRAPHY!

The Shocking Case of O.J. Simpson (Part 1)

Yep, we’re back with this insanity! In honor of me getting through the first week of winter semester, here is the next installment in KISS Unsolved! However, unlike last time, where we saw Paul, Gene, and Vinnie going on a hunt for the supernatural, here we see them covering a true crime case, because Buzzfeed Unsolved also covers unsolved true crime cases. It actually took me quite a while to decide which episode to adapt for this, but ultimately I decided on this one, partly because this case really fascinates me. I also decided that since there’s three co-hosts in this AU, Vinnie’s going to be the one covering the true crime cases (I thought it fitting, since he’s a bit of an unsolved mystery himself). Here is the original episode if you want to watch that before reading this story. 

A quick note about this one: I learned from last time to split up the episodes so I don’t go over the post length limit and Tumblr starts acting like a jerk. I know it’s awkward, but that’s how it’s gonna have to be.

VINNIE: This week on Buzzfeed Unsolved, we discuss the brutal murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, or as you may know it: the case of O. J. Simpson, who was Nicole’s ex-husband, a Hall of Fame running back in the NFL, and the case’s top suspect.

PAUL: Fun fact: we’re all old enough to remember this case.

GENE: Yep. I remember there was a lot of Yiddish thrown around my house after the verdict.

VINNIE: A lot of people our age and older than us will remember quite a bit about this case. I remember watching it on television.

PAUL:  Yeah, I actually never knew O. J. was a football player. I always knew him as the guy who murdered someone.

GENE: Me too.

VINNIE: Yeah. There’s a lot of unpack here, so… let’s get into it. [opens folder]

[screen cuts away from the three to a black screen. Pictures and text appear on screen as Vinnie narrates]

VINNIE [voiceover]: In the early morning of June 13th, 1994, at 12:10 AM, the bodies of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald L. Goldman were found outside Nicole’s Brentwood townhouse, stabbed to death.

[screen cuts to the three of them in a car driving through a neighborhood, Brentwood. Vinnie is driving, Paul is in the passenger seat, aiming a camera at Vinnie, and Gene is in the backseat]

VINNIE: So right now, we are on our way to Nicole Brown Simpson’s former residence. [time skip: the car parks on the side of the street]

PAUL: [looks at the house across the street] Is that it, right over there?

VINNIE: Yep. That’s the place.

GENE: I feel… I don’t really feel all that right going into this place.

VINNIE: Oh, we’re not going onto the property.

GENE: We’re not? I thought we were going to go see where the bodies were found.

VINNIE: Oh hell no, we’re not doing that.

PAUL: That is kind of disrespectful.

GENE: Okay, good.

[all three of them sit still for a couple beats. Then Vinnie sighs and unbuckles his seatbelt, and opens the door to get out. Gene and Paul follow suit. Screen cuts back to the slideshow]

VINNIE [voiceover]: At the time, Nicole and O. J. Simpson were divorced and living in separate residences, both in Brentwood. The bodies were discovered by two neighbors who were literally led to the crime scene by Nicole’s dog. Multiple neighbors would say the dog was incessantly barking at the time of the murder. [audio of a barking dog plays with the narration]

[cuts back to the sidewalk in front of Nicole Brown Simpson’s house. Paul has the camera on Vinnie, who is taking steps while Gene watches off to the side]

VINNIE: So the dog led the neighbors down the street, to the entrance, and they saw the blood coming down from the entrance to the sidewalk.

[cuts to the three once again sitting in the car; it is now darker out]

PAUL: What occurs to me, though, is how close together all these apartments are. And how…

VINNIE: How no one heard…

PAUL: Yeah. From the way I always heard it, I assumed the houses were really spread out and the street was bigger. But no, they’re all pretty stacked on top of each other. I think… I feel like someone would have had to have heard something.

VINNIE: … That’s a good point, I never thought about that. [runs his hand over his face] Jesus…

GENE: This case just got so much heavier.

[screen cuts back to the slideshow]

VINNIE [voiceover]: Let’s go over the established, highly-detailed timeline. On June 12th, 1994 at 6:30 PM, Nicole, her children, and others arrive at a restaurant called Mezzaluna. At 9:15 PM, Nicole’s sister calls Mezzaluna and says her mother left her glasses there. Ronald Goldman goes to pick up the glasses. At 9:00 – 9:30 PM, Brian “Kato” Kaelin and O. J. Simpson go to McDonald’s for dinner.

Can’t imagine McDonald’s was excited to hear that…

Yeah…

I mean it had to have been, since it’s on the official timeline.

I mean… it got a lot of coverage at the time so… free advertising, I guess?

Yeah, I suppose.

VINNIE [voiceover]: At 9:45 PM, Kato and O. J. return home from McDonald’s. Kato was staying in O. J.’s guest house at the time. At 9:48 to 9:50 PM, Goldman leaves Mezzaluna with an envelope containing Nicole’s mother’s glasses. At 10:15 PM, Nicole Simpson’s neighbor hears a dog bark and cry while he is watching TV. The prosecution would later cite these barks as Nicole’s dog, who was crying out over the murder of its owner, Nicole.

They went by dog bark?

Well all dog barks are a bit different. The neighbor could’ve recognized it as Nicole’s dog from the bark.

Yeah, that’s probably what happened.

Honestly, I feel like the dog is the real hero of this story.

*laughs* I don’t think there are many heroes in this story, Gene.

VINNIE [voiceover]: At 10:25 PM, a limo driver named Allan Park arrives at O. J.’s home, O. J. having been scheduled for a red eye flight from L. A. to Chicago at 11:45 PM. At 10:40 PM, O. J.’s guest, Kato, hears three loud thumps on the outside wall of the guest house he is staying in. From 10:40 to 10:55 PM, Park buzzes O. J.’s intercom several times, but there is no answer. Just before 11:00 PM, Park sees a shadowy figure—six feet tall, two hundred pounds—walking across the driveway towards the house. At 11:00 PM, Park tries buzzing the intercom again; this time, O. J. answers. O. J. tells Park that he had overslept and had just gotten out of the shower.

Suspicious.

This is a very detailed description of a “shadowy figure.”

VINNIE [voiceover]: At 11:45 PM, O. J. departs on an American Airlines flight to Chicago. And taking us back to the start, at 12:10 AM, the bodies of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald L. Goldman are discovered outside her townhouse stabbed to death. Evidence found at the crime scene includes a bloodstained glove left behind by the killer, a knitted hat, and a bloody footprint. At 5:00 PM, detectives arrive at O. J.’s house and discover some key pieces of evidence… but we’ll get to that later. Meanwhile, O. J.’s flight lands in Chicago. According to lead prosecutor Marcia Clark, Detective Ron Philips called O. J. to inform him his ex-wife was dead. O. J.’s first response: “Who killed her?”

But he famously did not surrender to the police, and was declared a fugitive. The ensuing low-speed police chase of O. J. on the freeways of southern California in his white Ford Bronco is a lasting memory for anybody familiar with the case.

Do either of you remember this?

Oh yeah, I definitely remember this.

My memories of this are actually a little vague. I do remember people talking about this after it happened, though.

I think my sister actually yelled at the screen for O. J. to go faster.

*laughter*

VINNIE [voiceover]: O. J. was in the passenger seat, while the car was driven by his friend, Al Cowlings. Cowlings explained he did not stop because O. J. had a gun to his own head in the car, and because O. J. was suicidal. A suicide note written by O. J. was in fact found, but we’ll get to that in a bit.

[screen cuts to the three back in the car. It is daytime, and they are now on the freeway]

VINNIE: So right now, we are going about the speed O. J. was going, and we’re in rush-hour traffic.

PAUL: I gotta say, I’m actually a little bored.

GENE: This doesn’t exactly feel like Fast and Furious.

VINNIE: Well, the stuff in Fast and Furious probably doesn’t happen in real life, Genie.

VINNIE [voiceover]: During the chase, they recorded a phone call between O. J. and homicide detective Tom Lange. Here’s some audio from that:

LANGE: Nobody’s going to get hurt.

SIMPSON: I’m the only one that deserves…

LANGE: No, you don’t deserve that.

SIMPSON: I’m gonna get hurt…

LANGE: You do not deserve to get hurt.

SIMPSON: [groans]

LANGE: You do not deserve to get hurt. Don’t do this.

SIMPSON: All I did was love Nicole. All I did was love her.

VINNIE [voiceover]: The chase would end at O. J.’s home in Brentwood. Inside the car, they found, in what I imagine was unintentional humor, makeup adhesive, a fake mustache and goatee, O. J.’s passport, and a gun.

Pfft, hahahahah—!

*laughing* What the hell?

*laughing* I know, that’s—just try to imagine one of the most famous people at this time, trying to sneak through airport security with a glued-on mustache…

That’s hilarious!

VINNIE [voiceover]: O. J. surrendered to the police at 8:51 PM. Now, let’s go over the suicide note. Apart from thanking those who meant a lot to him in his life, O. J. professed his innocence. Quote, “First, everyone understand. I have nothing to do with Nicole’s murder. I loved her; always have and always will. If we had a problem, it’s because I loved her so much.”

Well, that’s… kinda sweet, I guess…

Seems kinda over the top to me.

I had the same impression. Overall, though, when you put it in with everything else… I don’t know.

What’s our consensus here, do we all agree that he did it?

I have actually been told that we should refrain from explicitly saying who we think did it.

Oh, really?

Why?

Well, because this is a very controversial case. We all remember how controversial it was. We don’t wanna step on any toes.

i think i made this imagine pretty neutral so anyone can read it from their point of view. it’s pretty long too hehehe.

"Are you actually fucking serious?" you harshly say to Billy as he's waving around a handful of hair and a pair of scissors in front of you. You both were studying for a surprise exam for your Biology class and decided that the park was the best place to do so since it's quiet and you're fully surrounded by fresh air (unless billy was occasionally smoking his cigarette) but it was the best you could do. What a way to spend Valentine’s Day.

"Come on, babe. Let's have some fun!" His wicked smile is plastered on his face with his arms spread out like the wings of an angel, which, as much as his smile made you smile, it wasn't going to do so this time. You had been stuck on revising the gaseous exchange transport systems between organisms and environments of plants and animals. No matter how long you've spent on this topic, it just wasn't getting through that thick skull of yours. "We've been sitting here for hours and we haven't gotten up since we got here." you stand up out of frustrating, the heat of your anger reaching to the top of your ears against the cool breeze of Hawkins.

"I can't believe you've done this, do you realise what you've done? You've just cut my hair! Billy." You look up at him with your head tilted to the side. "Are you serious." Your voice was pleading and straightforward. Your boyfriend cutting a chunk of your hair was as close to the last straw you've had for a while since studying your ass off for these exams that could determine the path you wanted to take after high school. 

Your nose tingles at its bridge, the weird way of telling you that tears are about to start to fall. Your hand reaches up to the bottom of your nose to block almost half your face as an attempt to stop your tears from falling. Your arm falls to your side as you give up and look up to the sky. You close your eyes as you just let the tears fall. You tie up the remaining of your hair, not caring for loosely-strayed pieces of hair and pack up your things through blurry-teared eyes. your heart beats hard against your chest out of anger and embarrassment amongst the young children and their parents. 

"I can't believe you. At this time? Just don't follow me." You shake your head and storm off after packing the last of your things. You left in a huff with an exasperated Billy with fake locks in his hands. 

"Baby!" he calls out to you with a tone of tiredness mixed with defeat. Usually, he did follow after you when you left at the end of an argument but his feet couldn't move as if they were glued to the ground. His legs had the urge to move towards your direction but his feet were pinned down.

He throws the single part of hair extension into the bush and the scissors onto the table in anger. He runs his fingers through the blonde locks of his, before sitting on the seat the faced away from the direction you started walking. He then pulls out the cigarette pack from the breast pocket of his favourite denim jacket, lights one and takes the several puffs before finished several of the tobacco sticks.

After you walked off, you went to buy some comfort food from Bobbie's Place, a new diner you were supposed to go to with Billy after the exam period but since he's pushed you too far this time with cutting your hair, you needed something warm and greasy. After purchasing your deluxe cheeseburger with fries and a milkshake, you carry on home.

It's been a few hours of writing your notes and revising the key terminology, explanations and diagrams for three topics - Patterns in Nature, Evolution of Australian Biota and Communications. you sigh, throwing the last of your notes on top of the open biology textbooks laid out on your bed and lay back onto the cushions on your bed. You close your eyes out of fatigue, only wanting to catch at max a half hour sleep. 

Soft taps slowly awake your slumber, your ears twitch at each one. A couple more taps, from what you've found out was from your window, your eyes open and drift towards the window at the front of your room, waiting for the next tap. It comes a couple seconds after the last one, a white pebble, you questioned yourself. Another pebble came around by the time you made it to your window. What greeted you at the bottom of the pavement was Billy in his signature red buttoned shirt, most of it unbuttoned of course. It really wouldn't be a Billy outfit without them. You shake your head as he continues to throw lil white, pink and blue pebbles. White pebbles were okay, you think to yourself, but pink and blue? And yellow?! You open the window but right after you had opened it fully, a little piece hit you straight in the eye. "Damn it, Billy! are you trying my make me blind too?"

"I'm sorry. About the prank, I pulled on you this morning. It was actually a part of a wig I found in the costume store yesterday. And for your eye." He calls out, his fingers are intertwined with each other, a sign that you've picked up on that he was nervous in front of you. You look into the flower bed just outside your window and noticed that the little pebbles you thought weren't actual pebbles. You picked up the pink heart, "cutie". you shake your head but smile at Billy's attempt to be romantic. Your lips purse together in thought, finding more candies in your flower bed like "kiss me", "luv ya", "my baby", and "you're sweet". 

You look down at him, his eyes pleading softly, his fingers still entwined. "I'm sorry too. It's ... Wait, I'll come down. come through to the back." You close and lock your window before sliding into your pair of fluffy slippers and make your way downstairs to the back door. You open it to a standing Billy. "I can't believe it was a joke!" you slap his shoulder. You roll your eyes before motioning your hand inwards to your house.

You and Billy are sitting at the bench, facing each other with your legs in between each other. you whisper to each other because your parents and siblings are fast asleep upstairs. 

"As I was saying..." you start, looking down at your own entwined fingers, "I'm sorry about today too. It's just ... This stupid surprise exam is just ..." you look up at him, his eyes on you. "I haven't been doing well in this class and it's been too hard for me. I definitely take the blame for me not being totally cooperative. You were just trying to ease the tension," you end in a whisper. "But the hair... come on. You would go ballistic if I were to do that to you. So don't try that again," you smile through tears.

Billy pulls you in for the biggest hug you could ask for during this time. Your face nuzzles in between the crook of his neck and his blonde locks, soft and dark. The smell of his leather jacket mixed with his men's cologne. Your arms snake around his neck and pull him as close as possible as he softly whispers his apology to you before placing a peck on the shell of your ear. As much as this felt cliche, you could feel his heart beat against yours, the warmth of his body provided the security blanket, a sign that was saying he was there for you.

"Look. we are going to get through this exam. If you could write 4 essays in the time span of an hour an a half without forgetting your major points, none of them, then I know you are going to get through this surprise exam." You pull away from him, Billy now being arm-length away. His thumb brushes away the stray tears that fall down to your cheek. He playfully taps your nose before placing a peck on your forehead. "Let's do this."

You both lift up from your seats, his arm around your shoulders as yours was placed around his waist and your hand in the back of his denim jeans. "Oh. These lil candies." you pause, to stand in front of him with your hand out with the little hearts, "You're cute, but your prank was hair-ible" you wink.

Yeah when I cut my hair short everyone assumed I liked girls I found it kind of odd, but I didn't care too much. It mostly just made me end up realizing all the shit lgbt people go through, one time a guy literally went up to me and my friend, my bff who no one really knew was a lesbian was terrified because he said "oh dont worry lesbians are hot, but gay guys are just disgusting" it ended up he was talking to me, i just rolled up a piece of paper as tight as I could and smacked him on the head

how do you make poses for the roof? i'm not sure how i can know if the sims will clip into the roof or float

honestly i just...eyeball it...because all roofs are different and you can’t put them into blender so. i just winged it lmao...i just made a pose that looked like it could’ve been lou climbing out the window, only the rig was still ground level, and then i used alt + 9 to lift the teleporter onto the roof as best as i could. that’s why it probably wouldn’t be a very practical pose to release, because i have no way of making it easy to use

i absolutely love how this is worded and the fact that u called me kitty, very cute. anyway...this is pretty broad, perhaps you could clarify what kinda cliches you want to steer clear from? a lot of the time when i know something is gonna be cliche and there’s no avoiding it, i just kinda own up to it and try to subtly point out how cliche it is and somehow that makes it work out better...like being self aware somehow adds another more realistic element to the story that makes it better? idk...anyway dm me if you need help!!

i don’t know if i’ll be able to replicate the reshade effect totally but i could release the action i’ve made for myself? it warms up screenshots but is totally adjustable to your liking for different color tones so in that way it’s kinda similar to the reshade. i’ll seeeeee what i can do...i know the woes of mac users all too well, my friend

Marco said nothing, guilt filling every inch of his entire being as Toriel let loose a single tear, her fireballs steering themselves away from the approaching boy.

He knew she couldn't hurt him, that she was trying to scare him into giving up, into hurting her to get pass. He could've but he didn't. He chose to spare Toriel every chance he got until....she gave up.

“It is pathetic...is it not?” Toriel muttered softly “I cannot save a single child....”

Marco said nothing, deciding it was best to just stand since he was unsure how he could comfort her sorrow.

“I wanted to be a teacher...obvious when you look back on it....but...how could I ever become a teacher....if I cannot save a single child...”

Toriel let out a defeated sigh

“I understand. You would just be unhappy here. The ruins are small once you are used to them and without Star, you would be consumed by your worry....she is your bestie after all...your feelings for her go far deeper than you know.”

Toriel closed her eyes as if to shield Marco away from her pain.

“My expectations.....my loneliness....my fear....for you my child...I will put them aside.”

“Toriel....”

“If you truly wish to leave the ruins” Toriel told him, so forlorn and sad that it destroyed  Marco's heart “I will not stop you....”

“However” Toriel went on, her face tight with emotion “When you leave...please do not come back”

Marco could feel his eyes tearing up at the sight of Toriel so broken and defeated

“I hope you understand.”

Marco's tears trailed down his cheeks, their existence disappearing into Toriel's soft, warm fur as she embraced him, her touch loving and motherly.

“Call me goat mom....one last time child...” she whispered into his ear.

“Good bye....goat mom” Marco cried as Toriel broke her hold on him.

“Good bye....my child.”

and like that, Toriel was gone, retreating back into her home, into her self imposed exile in the ruins.

Marco wiped away his tears as he made his way pass the doors that barred his path, pass the single patch of sunlight that reminded him of the first time he met Flowey and into the forest, the dead tall trees looming over him like towers, the snow covered floor giving every step a deep, thick crunch.

Marco shivered against the icy temperature of the cavern, unable to believe this was still the Underground.

There was no sign of life, no sign anyone else nearby or clue where Star had disappeared to. Just nothing: an empty landscape void of anything.

Marco stopped. He felt strange like someone was watching, waiting for him to notice.

He whirled around suddenly only to find the doors back to the ruins and his footsteps trailing after him.

Marco frowned, unsure if he was just on edge and paranoid or that someone had indeed been watching him.

Marco faced forward only to find someone who wasn't there a moment before barring his path.

“Yeah” The creature said lazily “it was me kid.”

There was a moment of silence before Marco let out a panicked yell, arms flailing everywhere which way before dropping into a fighting pose.

The creature was a short, big boned skeleton with a dimpled, permanent smile on his face, something Marco never thought he would say when describing a skeleton. His empty eye sockets had this white glint to them almost like pupils. Strangest thing of all was that he was clothed: He wore an unzipped blue hoodie (both hands tucked within its pockets) with the hood having a white furry interior. He seemed to be wearing a white shirt, black shorts with a single, vertical white strip on either side of his legs and even a pair of sandals.

“Hiya kid” The skeleton waved, his tone equal parts friendly and laid back “How you doing?”

“umm....” Marco was unsure how to respond. You think with having Star Butterfly as his best friend he would've been used to strange sights by now but a clothes wearing, friendly skeleton took the cake.

“Well....isn't this a bare-bones conversation?” The skeleton said with wink, chuckling merrily at his own joke.

Scratch that: a clothes wearing, friendly pun making skeleton.

“Sides” The skeleton went on “don't you know how to make a new pal? Shake my hand kid”

Marco gulped nervously at the sight of the skeletal hand attached the skeletal body that once may have been human....or was this creature born this way, without any eyes or skin?

“Aww, don't tell me I scared you? Sorry kid, I can be a real bonehead sometimes!”  

Marco anxiously chuckled, swallowing his fear and gripping the skeleton's hand lightly in case it decided to pull him forward and attack.

Marco flushed when the loud whooshing sounds of a fart echoed loudly through the near empty forest

“hehehe....the old whoopee cushion in the hand trick” the skeleton said with a grin, holding out his hand and showing Marco the deflated prop “It's always funny.”

“I...”

“You're human right? With the flesh and squishy organs? Hehehe that's hilarious.” The skeleton went on, slipping his hand back into the shelter of his pockets “I'm Sans....Sans the skeletogrin”

Another wink

“I'm Marco” Marco managed to get out between laughs. Between Star missing and having broke Toriel's heart, Marco needed a good laugh and while these jokes were terrible, they were helping lift his gloomy mood.

“Anyway, I'm supposed to be on watch for humans right now...” Marco felt his heart stop, the idea of being captured so quickly made him wish he had heeded Toriel's warning “But y'know, I don't really care about capturing anybody.”

Marco let out a sigh of relief.

“Now my brother Papyrus....”

“SANS!” another voice called from afar, causing Sans to turn around and peer carefully at who was calling him.

“Actually....I think that's him right now.”

“What?!” Marco couldn't keep the fear out of his voice “You got to hide me! I can't be captured, I need to find my best friend Star.”

“Huh, best friend? Not girlfriend?” Sans nudged Marco with a playful wink.

“N-no!” Marco stammered, his cheeks bright red from the cold “Best friend.”

“I'm just joking kid. Say, you haven't lost your....funny bone, have you?”

“Sans!” Marco motioned to the approaching person, his height making it impossible for anyone to miss his arrival “I need to find Star and go home!”

Sans smile never left his face but he nodded in understanding.

“It's alright Marco, just follow my lead. Put your hands in your pockets and stand like me.”

Marco didn't like the sound of this but left with little choice, he followed Sans's directions, placing his hands in his pockets and slouching lazily like his skeletal savior.

“Now face the same way and don't say anything.”

Marco did as he was told just in time for Sans's brother to make onto the scene.

If Marco thought Sans was strange, that was before he met Papyrus. Sans was dressed for style and possibly comfort but Papyrus? He was dressed to stand out, impossible to ignore.

His skull was anatomically incorrect, much longer and thinner than his brother Sans. He too had an eternal smile and his eye sockets were more slit than humanly possible. Around his thin skeletal frame was a large torso piece with various golden trims and a symbol Marco was certain he had seen somewhere before, something from a video game. He wore a long, flowing red scarf with matching, red gloves with more gold trim, a blue...briefs? With a, you guessed it, gold belt and large red boots. His spine, arms and legs were covered by black sleeves or leggings or...something.

Marco could feel the sweat form on his brow as Papyrus came closer but if he had noticed anything odd about this picture, the skeleton had yet to say anything.

“S'up bro?” Sans greeted his brother casually like he wasn't hiding a human from his human hunting brother.

“YOU KNOW WHAT IS SUP BROTHER!” Papyrus answered, his voice dramatic and overflowing with unnecessary flourish.  “IT HAS BEEN 8 DAYS AND YOU STILL HAVEN'T RECALIBRATED YOUR PUZZLES!”

“kay....” Sans replied, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly

“YOU JUST HANG ABOUT YOUR STATION ALL DAY! WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING?”

“Hanging out with my buddy here” Sans pointed to Marco with his head “New to town.”

Papyrus blinked once, twice, a third time “I DID NOT SEE YOU THERE FRIEND! I APOLOGIZE, WHERE ARE MY MANNERS? I AM THE GREAT PAPYRUS, HUMAN HUNTER EXTRAORDINAIRE!”

Sans snickered at his brother “You haven't even seen a human bro.”

Papyrus looked appalled “I AM WORKING ON IT! AND WHEN I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, FINALLY CAPTURE A HUMAN, I SHALL GET ALL THE THINGS I SO UTTERLY DESERVE! RESPECT, RECOGNITION, MY RIGHTFUL PLACE IN THE ROYAL GUARD AND I SHALL HAVE COUNTLESS PEOPLE LINING UP TO BE MY FRIEND! I WILL BATHE IN A SHOWER OF KISSES AND PRAISE EVERY MORNING!”

“hmm.....maybe my friend can help you, he's a human”

Marco couldn't believe Sans ratted him out so quickly, he knew he couldn't trust a no skin, wide grinning, punning making skeleton!

“SAAAAANS! STOP YOUR HUMORLESS JEST! THAT IS NOT A HUMAN, AND I, THE MAGNIFIECENT PAPYRUS, SHOULD KNOW BEING THE FEARED AND WELL RESPECTED HUMAN CATCHER THAT I AM!”

Marco's deadpanned face made him seem like the undead one.

“YOU DISGRACE YOUR DUTY SANS!” Papyrus went on, pointing an accusatory gloved finger towards his brother “YOU GET LAZIER AND LAZIER WITH EACH PASSING DAY WHEN YOU SHOULD BE WORKING, NOT PULLING YOUR FRIENDS INTO YOUR CHILDISH JOKES!”

“but I did a ton of work” Sans replied “A skele-ton”

Sans gave his brother his trademark wink.

“SANS!” Papyrus shrieked

“come on, you're smiling”

“I AM” Papyrus answered, childishly pouting and stamping the ground in a way that reminded Marco of Star “AND I HATE IT!”

Papyrus let out a defeated sigh “WHY DOES SOMEONE AS GREAT AS I HAVE TO DO MUCH WORK FOR SOME RESPECT?” “Sounds like you're working yourself....to the bone”

“SIGH. I HAVE TO ATTEND TO MY PUZZLES SANS. AS FOR YOUR WORK? PUT A LITTLE MORE...BACKBONE INTO IT! NYHEHEHEHE”

Marco saw it now, he saw how these two opposing personalities could be brothers. It was their lame jokes.

Papyrus took his leave without another word, laughing all the way out of view.

“see, told you. My brother may be a fanatic about catching humans but he's harmless. He couldn't hurt you even if he wanted too.”

“Thanks Sans.” Marco offered his hand to shake Sans's once more

Sans shook his head, all joy and humor leaving his face “Don't thank me yet, we got to find your not girlfriend Star.”

Marco flushed a little but decided to ignore it for time's sake “Do you know where Star is? Was she captured by the others? I mean she's really good at fighting and has her magic wand that's make her tough to beat but still...you never know.”

Sans shook his head “No I don't think so but something isn't right with this picture. Tell me, did you two run into a small sunflower? Cheerful and 'helpful'?”

“Flowey...” Marco growled, fist clenched angrily

Sans nodded  but did not elaborate if such information was important. “I don't know where your friend is now but I know where she'll be in a bit if she's hanging with the flower.”

Marco wanted to tell Sans that Star would never go with Flowey but last night's fight surfaced in his mind, how betrayed and angry Star looked at him when he told her to trust Toriel and Marco had seen firsthand how charming Flowey could be.

“ Can you take me Sans? I need to find Star.”

Sans winked at Marco “Sure skelebro, we'll take one of my shortcuts.”

“Shortcuts?” Marco questioned but Sans was already off, disappearing into the thick, dead trees. “SANS WAIT UP!”

“Wait...just happened?” Marco's eyes were wild, hair an unkempt mess like he had just go.

“Best not to think about it” Sans told Marco calmly, the two appearing over a breathtaking over of a city far below “Your friend will be heading through that door over at the far end.”

Marco turned, the door giving him a dark, foreboding feeling in his stomach.

“What is that place?” Marco asked, fright and dread slowly overwhelming him.

The white glint in Sans's eyes disappeared leaving a lifeless, void-like darkness in his eyes “Where everything ends.....”

“Sans?”

“I'll stand here” Sans continued, the white gleam returning “Make sure no monsters bother ya. I like you and I wouldn't want to see you captured. Find your friend, come back here and we'll go somewhere I can keep you safe until we figure out how we can get you out of here.”

“Thanks Sans” Marco told him, hugging the skeleton tightly.

“No worries Marco” Sans told him, parting from the teen slowly “We're hoodie bros. It's what we do. I wish I could help you but I don't have any guts”

Marco laughed loudly at the horrible joke, waving goodbye to Sans as he entered the mysterious room.

Sans felt his grin drop a bit, wondering if Marco could really handle that sociopathic little flower on his own.

“Star!” Marco's voice rang out, echoing loudly through the empty halls, the sound bouncing off the golden walls, becoming weaker as his voice traveled further away from him into the endless room.

Marco didn't like the silence that remained after his call for Star went unanswered, the clicking of his footsteps the only sign of life in the barren, empty hall.

Marco tried to calm his worried heart as he walked between the two rows of gigantic pillars that held up ceiling of this majestic room as a bright, warm light poured in from the outside despite the fact they were underground, deep within a cavern of mazes. Perhaps the light was not from the sun but rather some other source, the warmth spreading through his body a trick his mind playing on him in response to the solar-like illumination filling the room.

Marco wanted to stare out the beautifully crafted and designed windows, he wanted to explore a bit more but Sta ran off, possibly with a psychotic flower, there was no time. Who knew what lay in the Underground and Marco couldn't help feel a sickening sense of dread bubbling in the pit of his stomach.

Something had gone wrong, something happened to Star and Marco needed to find her now. She was his best friend and if she was in trouble, it was up to him to rescue her. To save her and be there for her. And the only way to be there for her was to press forward.

Marco's footsteps were the only thing accompanying the worried teen as he made his way through the massive corridor, the near quiet atmosphere far worse than being draped in complete silence.

A deep, thick shadow of a pillar blanketed Marco for a moment, blinding him as his eyes struggled to cope with the sudden contrast between light and dark.

Marco stepped into the glowing light pouring through the unblocked window, his vision finally clearing the multicolored flashes that plagued his closed sight.  

Marco could feel his heart beat happily at the sight of Star's turned back though the gloomy dreaded he felt remained. Where had she appeared from?

But it didn't matter. Sans had been correct and there she was in one piece: her devil hairband tucked safely in her long, blonde hair, her sea green dress and purple orange striped stockings looking more...faded than usual.

It had to be the room. That's all. Just the lighting and vastness of the hall simply skewing the color scheme a bit....that's all....

So wasn't Marco believing that? Why was every bone in his body telling him to run as fast as he could away from his best friend? That he was in an unrecognizable amount of danger?

Why did he feel like he was going to have a bad time....?

“Star!” Marco couldn't keep the relief out of his voice, nearly running forward to embrace his best friend before a subtle movement caught his attention

Marco frowned but before he could say anything, Star pivoted on her heels, staring directly at him with a wide eyed smile.

But this wasn't a regular Star smile, it was far too large and emotionless like someone simply gripped Star's cheeks and pulled them apart and upwards as far as they could to give the appearance of a smile. The hearts on her cheeks were no longer a bright, loving pink but dull, nearly as pale as her skin. Her normally sparkling oceanic blue eyes that were always filled to the brim with life, love, emotion were now dim, glossy with a distant vacant gleam that lay within.

Star was there....but she wasn't really there....

Marco openly glared at what the magical princess held tightly in her palms, the sight of the creature sparking his memories and causing the feeling of dread to grow to indescribable levels.

“You” Marco accused, pointing a finger at the yellow sunflower that nestled itself comfortably in Star's hands “Flowey! What are you doing with Star?”

Flowey's cartoonish smile and eyes were joyful like he just won the lottery.

“Howdy friend!” Flowey voice was laced with cheer and happiness that Marco knew to be false, a front used to simply lower his guard “Fancy running into you two again in this big, empty hall.”

Marco's glared deepened “What did you do with Star?”

Flowey chuckled nervously like he'd been caught with his petal in the cookie jar “Gee Marco, I don't know what you mean. I hope you're not accusing me of any wrongdoing. Gosh, that would be terribly mean of you.”

Marco stared into the magical princess's face once more, her features seemingly frozen their manic, deranged state.

“I am not asking you again Flowey, what...did...you do...with Star?”

Flowey's bright yellow petals around his face folded, a sadden expression graced the flower's face “You're being mean Marco. Golly I can't believe...”

“Don't!” Marco's outburst rang loudly around them, fading away as Flowey's face morphed from shame into an evil triumphant smirk.

“Well looks I can't fool you like I did with Star here” Flowey's tone was sharp and demeaning “of course makes me wonder which of you is the bigger idiot.”

“Don't you talk about Star that way” Marco threatened, clutching his fist tightly, trying to contain his boiling rage.

“I'll talk about her all I want idiot” Flowey sneered, taking pleasure in Marco's anger “She's my puppet and with her at my side, looks like I'll be top monster round here”

“P-puppet?” Marco repeated, fearfully looking into Star's blank stare, no trace remained of the girl he called his best friend “What did you do to her!?”

“Gee, you sure are a dumb one idiot” Flowey mocked “I just told you. I brainwashed her. She's my toy now and there's nothing you can do to stop me.”

“Why would you do this?”

“It's kill or be killed” Flowey responded simply, winking at him as Star carefully placed him on the floor behind her “And now that I control Star, looks like I will be the one doing alllll the killing.”

“I won't let you get away with this!” Marco shouted, dropping into his fighting stance “You are not taking Star”

Flowey chuckled, a simple act that sent shivers down Marco's spine in the worst way possible “I will be getting away with this. Because Star's going to be one that stops you from stopping me....”

Marco let out a disbelieving laugh, unable to hold in the wave of chuckles that came pouring out of his mouth.

Marco wiped away a tear, crossing his arms smugly, throwing a sly grin towards the demented flower “I'm Star's best friend. There is no way she'd ever hurt me...”

“Well...” Flowey pursed his lips, concerned with this unforeseen winkle in his grand master scheme “Golly, I guess that is a big problem.....except...”

Marco felt his blood run cold at Flowey's knowing smile as the insane flower told Marco “You misunderstood something. Star isn't in control anymore.”

Star's grip tightened on her wand, the frightening smile and lifeless eyes never changing as she rose the magical item high into the air

“I am”

Marco watched, terror filling his body as Star took the sky, hovering lazily above Marco, a murderous twinkle in her gaze, passing the wand between her waiting hands like she was playing some sort of game.

Marco felt odd as the world shifted, the vibrant hue of life drained away while everything took on a black and white coloring. Lighter hues of the spectrum became white outlines with skin tone filling in the pale, bright color while clothing, the hall and many background items were filled in different shades of black, their shape and appearance remaining the same despite the lack of varying colors.

Before Marco could question what was going on, Star playfully winked his way, her pale pink hearts becoming dark blue that glimmered brilliantly in the darkness of the hall.

Marco could hear the fluttering melodic sound of Star's magic activating, the center of his chest feeling warm and sending a reassuring wave through his frightened body.

Marco looked down to see the tiny red heart appearing in the center of his now black hoodie, its glow matching Star's hearts perfectly, the two lovely colors shining through a world of black and white.

Marco closed his hands into fists, determination surging through his body. Star needed him. He couldn't rely on anyone else to save her nor should he. He was the magical princess's best friend and he would be damned if he let some psychopathic flower take Star away from him.

Marco fell once more into a ready position, arms and legs bent in preparation while Star hovered above him, swaying back and forth hypnotically with the wand held loosely in her hand.

“Idiot” Flowey said as the glow of Star's wand charging filled the room.

A rant that I need to get off my chest. Please don’t take any of this seriously, this is just a ramble that I need to calm myself down..Soooo All of this is just my personal opinion. You may have yours, which is fine. Write down what else do you think about this situation?

So. I’ve been a fan of a small show that has grown into one of the best animated show’s ever...not Steven Universe. NO, Star Wars Rebels.

During it’s first run, it has been known throughout the community as the worst thing to ever happen and no one gave the show a chance for it to shine and it did. It’s now becoming very popular in the SW community. That and the show has gotten good ratings on Disney XD, but also seeing that there are shows that get lower raters due to Disney XD being more for teens but that’s not really the main focus. 

I’ve seen ships and fanfiction throughout the net. I’m glad this it’s gotten the love and attention it deserves but there was a time when it was hated and it still is. I don’t know why but I may have to explain. 

You see. Not everyone is STILL taking the purchase of Lucasfilm too lightly and has gone far as to say that the fandom will forever be tainted. BITCH that’s been happening since the prequels and I know that they’re not good movies, but I still like only a few things to come from it. There’s good things and bad things from everything. Nothing is perfect. So let the prequel lovers love it!

*Clears throat*

I like the show, is it perfect? no of course not. I have my problems with The Clone Wars but that doesn’t mean that its superior over Rebels, not exactly. Rebels and TCW are equally good. I remember watching TCW when it started to become popular and I started getting into the SW fandom during that time. By then I started wanting to watch anything Star Wars related. Even the prequels (even though their mediocre in my eyes but they could be better in script. The script was shit). In my eyes, I liked anything that came out of the fandom. I also remember TCW not being very good during it’s first season run, and now that it’s gone on to have 6 seasons, it’s not good for some odd reason. This is why I still won’t get the fandom and it’s spoiled fans. Once something new has been made with different characters and a different setting. Now here’s where the rant starts and how it just when down hill from there. 

By the time of my graduation in 2014, Disney announced that all of the Expanded Universe material is now considered non canon and rebranded as Legends. The fandom went into flames over this. I couldn’t believe that they would erase most of our beloved stories and characters. Now I understand why they needed to be wiped away. For one thing, there was a shit ton of contradictions and another is giving the freedom to write whatever the fuck they want with the characters, and most of the time, they end up either lame, stupid and or OP AF! Either way, I’m glad that it’s wiped away. Do I want some material or characters to be canon? Of course! I’m not saying every piece of good material should be canon. I’d much rather have it worked into the actual canon. 

I’ve seen many posts bashing Lucasfilm, sending out death threats and it was insane. Who the fuck has the audacity to be a terrible person that has no control over you? I mean seriously. Just chill. Disney is doing a good job of taking care of the canon. They have writers and on lookers in Lucasfilm to make sure that nothing contradicts each other and has the freedom to go all out on what they want. Not what the fandom wants, only time when someone has a petition to get something canon. So the fandom was really in rage. I didn’t understand the commotion cuz I haven’t read any Legends material up until recently. I never understood why so many people hated the fandom or still hate it to this day. All just because Disney wanted to go in a direction that fans weren’t anticipating. I’m glad it’s like that. If you please ALL fans, then there wouldn’t be any imagination left to write. Having an open mind is a good thing, and that what Disney wanted. They wanted to go in their own direction, they wanted to make Rebels and that got hate for no damn reason just because Disney wanted to make another 3D animated show that was like TCW when the only reason why it never got a proper conclusion was the purchase of Lucasfilm. TCW was airing on CN and CN isn’t owned by Disney. If they did decide to remake it and finish it, then I’ll be happy but being patient is the only answer to what the fans want. 

I hate it when a show gives the audience what THEY want, it’s ruining what I love about shows and writing. I love it when creators don’t give a fuck what the audience want. That’s why Game of Thrones has such a massive fanbase is because George R. R. Martin is someone who doesn’t specialize in pleasing everyone. If a show is running out of idea’s, it may be a good time to end it. I love it when creators know that if a fanbase is ruining or doing good (for the most part) job of being a balanced fandom. The only reason why I left the DW fandom was because it wasn’t for me anymore. It gave me what I wanted to see in an adventure in time and space and I still love the show, but the problem is that once you’ve done everything that you wanted. What do you do now? Do you continue and get more money? Or do you end it and say that’s it. That’s the main problem with what I have with this show. Is that once you have all of the idea’s told, that’s it really. 

For Star Wars it’s the same. Legends was good at making planets and giving us good characters and an few excellent stories that were recognized by George Lucas himself. Timothy Zahn is just one of my favorite authors that hasn’t lost touch with who they are. If you look up his interviews. You can tell that he’s just so humble, he just has a lot to say. That’s what I love about a person who’s still continuing their passion. So he’s has a fanbase of his own. That goes the same for the entirety of Legends ALL of it is fan fiction, and some pretty damn good ones if I do say so myself. 

Speaking of which. I think the point I’m trying to make here is that. Once a team is doing something that you don’t personally want. That’s totally ok, but some just had to be a bitch about it. Thrawn is canon, Are you happy that he is? Let me talk about Thrawn for a second. I’m going to be honest, I never knew who he was and what his back story was. I just known him in Legends and passed it off as just a character. Now Mara Jade. I knew who she was. For Thrawn, I didn’t know how his character worked and now that he’s canon. It made me want to look him up. I read about his character in Heir to the Empire and loved it. (I’m still waiting to get Dark Force Rising and it’s taking me a while). Now I’m obsessed with his character. It puts me in the shoes of someone who has grown up with these types of stories and seeing them being wiped away...it made me sad. I understood how the Legends community felt.

Let me talk about Rebels for just one second. I love this show. Does it have problems? yes. Not every show is perfect but for a show for me to love and watch is more different than what I do. I look and criticize what I’m watching. Is it a bit too kid friendly at times? Yes. What did you expect from a TV-Y show? Hehe. Anyways, the show has gotten hate the first time it was announced. When I read the comments on some of the SW’s YouTube videos on Rebels. It breaks my heart to see that they haven’t given it a chance, now when season 2 was announced. They started to see that it had some potential and watched it. I was super surprised that they wanted to watch it. Now that season 3 is here (AND IS ON HIATUS AND IT’S KILLING ME!! ><) Thrawn is announced to be the main antagonist. That’s when the flood gates of the Legends community spilled to the fandom and thanked Lucasfilm for giving us back our blueberry Grand Admiral. I’m happy that he’s canon. He’s the perfect character for our hero’s to go up against. He’s a great antagonist and I can’t wait for the novel to come out. I bet Timothy Zahn is so happy that he get’s to write Thrawn again! :D 

Now this is also where the hypocrisy lies. There have been fans complaining of the lack of “quality content” (which is bullshit) and that Legends is SOOOO much more better than the actual canon and that Rebels is stupid and Oh...Thrawn’s in Rebels? OH SOOOO NOW YOU WANT TO WATCH THE SHOW JUST BECAUSE THRAWN IS IN IT?! WTF? REALLY?! THAT IS A LOAD OF HORSE SHIT! Are people this egotistical or just assholes IDK? But that part pisses me off the most. Some fans clam that Disney is not going to do a good job of holding the mold of the canon and it’s going to get messed up like Legends were, and they don’t take a moment to think of what they just said. Disney is a BEAST of a company, so they’re going to make sure there aren’t anything left out of place. They just don’t have faith in the continuity of Star Wars and it makes me sad beyond belief. 

I thought the show would suck, but I watched it and I love it. I think Rebels has a lot of things that surpasses that of TCW and vice versa. I love Kallus’ character. I thought he was a good villain, now he’s developing as a character and it’s nice to see that the team and Filoni is making a good show and taking care of the characters. If it was a bad show, then they wouldn’t have these explanations that I’ve mentioned above. It would have poor ratings, bad character development, terrible CGI, and awful writing. It would be spread through out the community as a bad as it is, but it isn’t. There are fans flocking to see what happens next, and now that there’s the hiatus...K. You got me there hehehe. They’re just doing some touch up’s and that’s good right? Keep a show running smoothly is to make it better. So even though I don’t mind the hiatus...I’M JUST DYING TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS WITH SABINE! FILONI WAAAAHHHYYYYY!!!?! ;-;

I’m not forcing you to watch the show. I’m asking for those who haven’t gave the show a fucking chance. DO IT NOW before you pull some random bullshit out of your ass. I always have everything to support my opinions. This isn’t really a rant on just Rebels but just the fandoms views on Disney and how they’re being ‘effected’ even though none of them contributed to writing anything good from Legends. Sooo...

Like I said. I’m cynical ;) doesn’t mean I can still enjoy something.
