Fun Italian fact! "Grazie," which English speakers tend to pronounce "GRAHT-see," is actually pronounced "GRAHTS-yeh." I only figured that out because I went to Italy for Spring Break in college, and when I boldly and apparently incorrectly thanked a convenience store cashier, she slowly repeated it back with the correct pronunciation.

I wonder if she still thinks about that sometimes: that American who somehow ended up in an area with absolutely zero English speakers, taking her hint and realizing they'd been saying it wrong and then thanking her one last time with the correct pronunciation. i can't even imagine the amount of rage and jealousy terry felt when he realized johnny was more important to kreese than him

oh my godddd, he must’ve practically imploded.

his johnny, his captain, his hero, this man whom he adored who saved his life - who was ready to sacrifice his own to do so - who terry subsequently swore himself to, gave everything to. “your whole life.” he bought the dojo they said they’d start together, gave him cobra kai, stuck by kreese’s side as best he could through every year that passed, and even when kreese came to him after the ‘84 loss, broke with cobra kai nothing but a shell, terry didn’t care. stuck by him still. brought him back up, tried to give him his glory back, tried to show everything that kreese is worth to him. everything that terry can be worth to kreese.

(and i wonder if terry felt some sort of sick, amused satisfaction, seeing johnny lawrence lose and disappear in the all valley, tears on his face like a child. kreese’s stupid golden boy - a passing fad. not as good as terry. not as strong, not as loyal, not worth nearly as much. won’t stay by kreese’s side like terry always has and always will.)
