Ppl will literally bend over backwards arguing that Luz’s themes reflect Evelyn/Caleb, characters never truly seen on screen, completely ignoring the fact her themes are parallel to Belos, a person who so desperately wants to be the hero of the story that he becomes the villain. Luz’s character accepts the lessons Belos refused. She was able to separate her wants and fantasies from reality despite being in her ideal fantasy world, despite learning magic, despite wanting to be a “chosen one” and simply doing what was right because what was right needed to be done.

Evelyn wasn’t meant to “save” Caleb, Philip was, but he was so stuck in his ways, he couldn’t accept his brother for who he was and killed him to “correct the plot” of the story Philip had created for them, forcing Caleb to haunt the narrative the. whole. time. (which was done so well with the time we had idc wht ppl say)

But Luz was able to accept the lessons offered to her and Belos and as a result “Caleb” and the order between the two realms are finally “at rest.”

Luz is what Philip could have been!!!! With the choices she makes, there’s no one left to haunt the narrative. The story’s over. She wasn’t a “chosen one” like she wanted, she was just there when she needed to be, and she did what she felt was right. Her actions were selfless not selfish, like Belos

If Evelyn needs a character she thematically pairs with, lmao she’s literally Flapjack. Flapjack is the ones who really places the wedge between Hunter and Belos, just like Evelyn places the wedge between Caleb and Philip. So, when Belos crushes Flapjack, he says goodbye to Evelyn. What’s amazing though about Flapjack’s death, is this time “Evelyn” (who in the pictures fights Philip) is actually able to save “Caleb’s” life, finally completing the end of her story.

We don’t need to see the Wittebane-Clawthorne story (even if it’d be amazing), because Luz (Philip), Hunter (Caleb), and Flapjack (Evelyn) complete it. The old trio “failed” but the new trio succeeds.

And honestly because the old trio “failed”, seeing their story in pieces and not getting the complete flashback, is such a good move because history favors the victors, so Belos version being the only version is 👌👌👌👌👌👌

But people stuck solely on shipping keep ignoring The Point. The story was so good why is everyone being mean about it 😭😭

I pretty much made it through all the mindcrack s4 nether hub videos w etho and bdubs. And man. Still by far one of my favorite things from s4 and I just.... I think we should see that more in general w people. I've already mentioned how fast videos are nowadays, and it contributes to what I miss- but more collab projects like that. Like the Same build by multiple people. And I want to see them working on it! I want to see the thoughts between collaborators and how their ideas are actively shaping it. Or one gushing about the others' work. Just the sense of connection to be seen and not just constant time lapse videos.

I recognize numerous areas in hc have had some kind of collaboration but like... not the same exactly. Hc s8 was nice in how close everyone was and how they tied together but in the end every build was flashed through in a time lapse where I saw no or little interaction between ppl or any chatter between them on the process behind it. Things are always short and concise for the recordings now :/

Mindcrack s4 netherhub was a nice balance of seeing the plans up to it, the hard grind for materials, and quiet collaboration as they worked on it side by side (which again, I think no voice calls in videos where you work helps w not being distracted. But I recall bdubs saying they were calling off screen and working which makes sense). I loved hearing them tackle a new part of it, explain their thoughts, get done with it and see that the other guy made some progress too- and then talk about it! So much work and I'm glad the long process wasn't shortened bc it really made me happy to see them complete it.

I always love everything ppl are making and I already love seeing people interact. By no means are new things completely void on contact or collabs i dont like lol... buts it's the need to cut things to being shorter and shorter while also squeezing in progress on so many projects, that shifted the focus I think. I know I grew up w the slower videos so it's subjective. But I miss a lot of the process shown when you know two ppl are working together and putting so much work into it.
