Random Rambling Regarding Headcannons for [Pokemon] Dark and Fay Types of Love

They say that a normal and good love is one made of feathers and pearls, of sweet berries and sometimes bitter leaves.

They say that the love of a Dark is made of sharp claws and shards of glass, of poison and late nights.

They say that the love of a Fay is cloyingly sweet, like a fruit that's been left to rot and now you lay with your body being enveloped in something you can't ever escape.

I will not argue over such matters. There will be no convincing that a love from the Dark or Fay are not what they are.

But those sharp claws tear at the foes who would hurt the love, the shards of glass sparkle and glitter in the light even if a poorly handled piece cuts deep, the poison is drunk deeply and fully while knowing full well, and the nights are filled with stars and hopes and the assurance that the fears in daylight will not, can not, come here.

The Fay work in exchanges. The love gives them a feeling of pure elation and the Fay merely wishes to repay that kindness. When the love of Fay is given, it is in truth earned in little talks, earned in gentle touches, earned in soft words and screaming laughter.

Do not fear the love of the Dark or the love of the Fay, for they merely act in what they understand. But do not merely let them act in instinct. A normal love does not come to be simply because it is. The feathers must be plucked, the pearls are encased in hard shells, and the sweetest berries and the bitter leaves look no different to a poisonous breed.

I had the absolute pleasure of showing my friend Ghost in the Shell for the first time.

It's a film that touched and influenced my life in so many ways, its almost a part of me. Every frame, every moment just drips with detail, all the while accompanied by Kenji Kawai's haunting score.

It's.. beautiful...

so... i was talking with Elf about games and she brought up how, as far as she could find, every otome game and a lot of asian media [japanime and chinese tv] will have that one character that has an eye patch that doesn't actually do anything, and that character will be stoic and badass. so i told her about the trope of the chunibyou [idk spelling, close enough]. for those who don't know that would be the nerd/geek/etc that gets so involved in their fantasy that they are literally LARPing 24/7. it is iconic for them to have a useless eyepatch that they will proclaim has something to do with their true power secretly being over 9K or whatever. she brought up twisted wonderland to check if that had such a character but no.

and then i realized how wonderful it would be if malleus had an eyepatch. it wouldn't do anything, he wouldn't technically be a chunibyou. he'd get in the habit because he thought it would make his gaze less intense so as to not scare people he's talking with as much. it backfires but he doesn't realize it. there starts being a rumor around school that the eyepatch is enchanted to cut down his power so he "doesn't accidentally blow up the school grounds".

yuu sees the eyepatch, finds out it doesn't actually do anything, and gushes. they want to embroider the silly accessory. tsunotaro accepts. my first thought would be that yuu embroiders something like gargoyle imagery or his icon thing [that image we see during loading screens. i like the idea that they're something in-universe] but then i realized the glory of it being something like a flower.

someone is being talked at by malleus and they're terrified in part because they can't actually get away with staring at the bridge of his nose, so they decide to glance at the eyepatch to avoid looking him in the eye... they see the flower and all they can think is "what...?"

malleus can finally talk to people "normally" [without scaring them witless and without them being one of his cult members fanboys]

i can't do this but if someone could draw fanart or an edit or something of malleus with an eyepatch that would be glorious~

Oh my… I’ll be honest, I don’t really care much for outfits since I don’t play with the 3d MV on (waaayy too distracting and laggy) buuuuut I tend to really like VBS’ outfits!!! they always have so much swag in them. Also the event costumes from Don’t Let Doubt Hold You Back! or whatever it was called, the first Honami event, I think Meiko’s looks really good (and Honami ofc 💛💛💛)
