While Jessie wasn't a friend to Ash, she didn't enjoy seeing the younger trainer appear upset (even though that would be the result if she were to successfully steal his Pikachu, but she had begun to move on from that being an actual goal). Over the time of knowing him, she had actually become more of a hopeful supporter that wanted to see him succeed rather than an enemy that wanted to stop him. Not that she would ever actually admit that though.

Bio: When Ash Ketchum finally becomes a Pokemon Master by winning the Master Class Tournament, he decides it’s finally time to bring down Team Rocket for good. Unfortunately, by the time this event happens, Jessie, James, and Meowth decide to take all the pokemon they battled Ash with, send most of them to Professor Oak, get married (if they haven’t already, IDK, haven’t watched all the episodes,) and have a couple of kids. They have lived in Pallet Town of the Kanto Region, neighbors to Ash since.

I have to wonder where all of Omi’s ideals about family come from. He has a lot of it, and romanticizes sibling bonds and parental bonds, so it must be on his mind more than he readily admits. He must be more lonely about the lack of a familial love he feels at the temple than he’s ready to admit.

But it’s never jealousy over the others having families. On the contrary, he’s so genuinely happy for the others’ families and wants them to be able to find the security and warmth in them that Omi thinks should always come with family. 

He’s the one to cheer Kimiko up when she’s in tears over her dad suddenly being cold to her, and he’s the one who continually keeps cheering Jessie and Clay on to rekindle their sibling bonds despite their differences. He’s so happy for both of them when those finally start improving.

Even after the truth about the abusive robot family is revealed, Omi sheds tears over his dead “mother” and thinks he owes it to her for at least being his family for a while.

{Every time I think I'm okay I think about young!Shanks being basically raised by Roger and Rayleigh and the crew and having to grow up way too quickly and seeing death and fearing death on a very real level and discovering alcohol at like 11 and having people actively try to kill him and those he loves and how terrifying that was for a child.

and then I also think about how when Roger disbanded the crew he basically saw a father figure say 'see ya good luck' and just ditch him and then he was trying to figure it out and then he watched this father figure die while the other father figure couldn't bear watching and wasn't there.

then this like, adolescent, 15 year old kid had marines trying to catch anyone who was a part of that crew and bring them to justice but he hadn't had any options on that ship and now everyone he called family peaced out and left him to figure it out.

i think he was very, very angry, scared, hurt, and upset. he was 100% convinced he was going to to die because like who the fuck cared about him enough to stop that from happening? what chance does an abandoned 15 year old have?
