fallen angels bring back so many memories omg..these two would DEFINITELY KNOW EACH OTHER THOUGH! i think it would be neat if they knew each other through their childhood, but ece moved around a lot in their youth so maybe it wouldn't stick...either way they are both involved, or were involved, in the criminal world so they're bound to have some sort of connection. ece is always notorious for "leaving" her life of being a heister behind ( moreso the group she aligns herself with ), but always ends up coming back x amount of days later. they're both very sentimental, even if they have different ways of showing it, i JUST THINK THEYD BE NEAT I AM SO DOWN FOR THESE TWO ♡♡

again i love the idea of a very short, but nonetheless strong, relationship in their youth that ended abruptly. i ache for the longing of simpler times. i left a lot of these open because i can see them in different ways, and i guess that's the same for all of the dynamics but it's just TRUE. ece is not the most open person, and gets easily frustrated, she's selfish and a bit quick on the defense...i see a lot of clashes that blow up when they didn't need to...but they always end up okay? kind of like a sense of belonging, or maybe because they knew each other prior to this life things are different with each other? disclaimer: i tend to default to co-wol interactions because i don't have a non-wol verse, so that's what i've kept in mind while answering this!

we very briefly talked a loooong time ago a bit about how their dynamic would start during the coerthas arc in arr, a place where both of them are at higher risk, helping each other out of some kind of heresy accusation related situation and bonding over both effectively being outcasts — koharu as an au ra in a place where au ra are rare at best (and in a place where they were massacred under the mistaken impression that they were dravanians), shivali because of their claw and their History™ with the cult. misfits finding solidarity with each other.

i'm bringing this up again because i loved that direction and also because it's a time in msq where koharu is extremely guarded and keeps people at arm's length, deliberately avoiding meaningful connection, so something like this would be very, very important to her that early on and would absolutely lead to regarding shivali in a very ride-or-die way end down the line because of this foundation, regardless of whether the relationship stays strictly platonic or they end up kissing in the gayest, most lgbtq way possible in front of the biggest halone statue at the holy see. vive la révolution, baby!

but more to the point, in a co-wol setting it would be almost impossible to not know each other before this and i feel like coerthas could be the turning point in their relationship from passing acquaintances with the same role to a genuine friendship. it's an opportunity to learn a little bit about each other on a more personal level and grow from there.

potential bonding moments outside of having a shared occupation:

both of them are competitive, which in and of itself is rife with possibility. not only is it something that can be fun, it can also push them both to do better. by having... not necessarily a rival, because i don't really see the relationship being so competitive that it's a rivalry, but someone to measure themselves against and strive to match. keeping each other on their toes. but obviously there's also the fun things like small, inconsequential challenges throughout their days, card/dice games in the rising stones with the scions, sparring matches to train. little things!

less of a bonding opportunity, more of a a potential plot point, but also kind of a (long distance) bonding opportunity: shivali's fear of drowning/open water no doubt poses a bit of an issue for them during stormblood. for better or worse, the story's decision to divide and conquer works very well in their favor: koharu heading east — heading home — to take up arms on the doman front, and shivali heading the ala mhigan front. linkpearls are probably a thing but i like to think there's a maximum distance for those, so instead of that: writing to each other. keeping each other apprised of the situations in their respective locations and providing moral support for each other with their letters.

i've always had a little headcanon for multi- or co-wol interactions where all involved have some kind of memory crystal made for them à la azem's crystal because canon is my bitch and i do what i want with it, but also because kore's memories (but also fray/her esteem) are a key part of koharu later on in her story, regardless of whether or not koharu is the azem shard. where shivali struggles with her darkness, koharu struggles with her sense of self. both of them have a need to be enough, to be themeselves, and i think they can both be very steadying presences for each other while struggling with these things, further cementing the ride-or-die theme.

listen. they both had a fwb with thancred in arr and i just think they can cut out the middle man, so to speak. or not, that's cool too. i'm sure thancred won't mind.

I feel as though this would be the case of one of Zephyr’s one sided friendships where he gets buddy buddy while Saria merely tolerates him... if that. When it comes to business and work he can be more serious about things, and on missions I imagine she would come to respect him a little more. Saria putting this shitlord in his place seems more likely than not. There could also be something coming of her friendship with Katelynn that has Zephyr behaving more ... proper? For current lack of a better term. This still isn’t a big vibe but I’ve seen stranger with this muse.

You won’t find many at RI that don’t see Zephyr as some kind of threat. It comes down to how a woman like her handles his antics and incessant badgering when he finds himself interested by another person. Again, that mission to get her smile will be a pestering one.

Kat & Saria

Kat is somewhat aloof, and a different kind of enigma compared to her brother. She has walls and lines on the ground yet welcomes companionship beyond the wariness of her guards. In the AK verse especially, with oripathy not doing her any favors, she’s careful of the bonds she makes. But I see Saria as a good figure in her life if only for the stability she symbolizes and the no nonsense she provides. A... slightly softer touch than Kal’tsit.

Romance isn’t on her mind. She had someone back in Ursus but had to leave them. It’s on the backburner compared to.. trying to stay in good health herself as well as doing the best she can for those around her.

Sure she’s got the older brother slipping around RI but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t need older sister figures. I say all this, but I should stipulate I feel it just as likely that they can stand as emotional ‘equals’ to one another. Kat is far from a weak damsel. She has a stubbornness. It just needs a little bit of honing and guidance.

Wow, for once a case where I don’t see antagonism applying. It feels... refreshing leaving this section blank, y’know. Two muses that have no reason to bicker. (’: Maybe some firmness on tone, but not beyond that?

my taka survival horror AU is just the yakuza dead souls game but Bad End-- so kamurocho's basically raccoon city'd-- and while he does volunteer work with terrasave for resi-specific stuff, he's also a private investigator. because of course he is.

in my mind he and ethan probably meet under normal circumstances (maybe taka was investigating ethan's company for a client?), but after chris saves him from the baker house terrasave is the one that helps him properly recover or some shit. and taka's like oh yo wtf, it's that systems engineer!!

ethan spends a week or two with terrasave maybe, they make sure he's fit and okay, and taka gives his number in case he needs anyone to talk to again after. AND Y'KNOW. taka's a sucker for strong and broken people (we're the same...) so he'll have That Attachment.

also "dangerous to each other" is more because of ethan's moldy stuff going on. LMAO. i kinda wanna use taka's ~superhuman-esque abilities in his game as justification for him being a B.O.W. of some sort jake muller style without him knowing but. hmmm.

i like the idea of taka sneaking into rapture to investigate jolene or something like that (using his yakuza dad's name to get him permission to go in...), but i'm happy to make it some rando disappearance so that it's not closely tied to jack himself. he finds out the person he was supposed to find is either dead or a splicer, and then the civil war happens and he can't go to the surface. so here he is.

it's up to you if you want taka to be w/ jack through the events of bioshock-- maybe their paths cross often but they don't actually stay together the whole time?-- but maybe taka's helping tenenbaum with her little sanctuary or something at the very least. maybe he has a lil shitty hole in the wall apartment that jack can use as a save point. LMAO.

re: fake relationship, they go up to the surface with jack's kids and w/ tenenbaum's help faked papers in rapture so they're married and jack can stay in japan with the kids no problem or something. BUT THEN IT BECOMES REAL.

honestly the hilarity of taka coming to his dad in the yakuza years after he disappeared on a case like this is my husband and our yakuzillion daughters fucking Kills Me.

cha’s note: I MEAN, canon speaks for itself, right, childhood friends, ride or die, influencing each other and not necessarily the way people may think, radically different personalities but somehow it works, there is already a big basis to build up from! i added flatmates as a possible development; and while that’s not on the meme, i know we both like tensions, evolutions, conflicts etc, and i think there is a lot we could do with two very old best friends going through the transitions of lie together, with all the strain and trials that might come with growing up, adulthood, etc.

cha’s note: like i said on discord, a door i’m definitely leaving open, because i really enjoy writing with you, and all our dynamics so far, so i’d be 100% comfortable with the idea of shipping too! there are a lot of possibilities for them i think, like one of them (or both) having a crush since childhood/teenage years, that only materialises as adults (yes this is inspired by your lovely answer to that ask); or they could indeed be highschool sweethearts, also a possibility. considring their respective evolutions, their years of friendship, i have a feeling that them evolving from that to something else would be bound to have its challenges for them (fear of a ruined friendship/lsing the other should things go sour, fear of change and novelty, distance if they live apart, etc, to name but a few). again, just some idea if that’s a road we want to take!

cha’s note: there again, they’re not really antagonists, but they definitely have potential for conflict as they grow, probably much to everyone’s surprise around them every time vbjfgvb yamaguchi may be a puppy but we know he’s not afraid of butting heads with his best friend to help him and show some tough love when he feels tsukishima is not listening.

SHIRABU & GOSHIKI

cha’s note: okay these two are clearly a chaotic mess, and you know what, it’s part of their charm. shirabu is one of goshiki’s unfeeling, cold senpai, they butt heads all the time, probably would never have spoken to each other if it weren’t for volleyball. suggestions here include probably their relationship evolving a bit after the interhgh qualifiers, since goshiki was only in his first year, shirabu the new starting setter, so after the 3rd years retire, they no longer have tendou or the others to keep their disagreements in check. but they probably both want what’s best for the team, so perhaps they can learn to stick together, even if their personalities don’t mesh well. goshiki is the new ace after all, he and the setter need to sync up :’) bonus roomates/flatmates possibility for the dorms at the school or after highschool if they go to the same uni.

cha’s note: definitely tougher than yamaguchi and tsukishima bvjhfbrjbv but again, italicising possibilities, unrequited crush on one side or the other or both, (fre)nemies to lovers trope as they grow older and progressively move past the surface “he’s so annoying” level (that I’m sure remains forever though bvjfdhv).

Magnolia Sinclair was born into a world and a role she never asked for. Her father was a powerful politician and her mother a powerful witch. She had old money and old magic in her veins, going as far back as she could trace. Hailing from Savanna, Georgia, as a young child she thought she lived a rather charmed life. Magnolia, or Maggie as she prefers, grew up in an old mansion. Belrose Manor itself was filled to the brim with secrets, spirits, and hidden passages. Each day was filled with a new adventure and discovery; each night was accompanied by yet another spell or ritual her mother would teach her. That is, until the day the caretakers discovered her mother’s secret.

It was July nineteenth. The summer evening was warm and heavy with humidity. A cleaning woman had discovered Mrs. Sinclair’s altar, and at once, rushed to tell the rest of the workers. Being devoutly religious and against the “occult”, something had to be done. That night, as thirteen year old Magnolia slept in her bed, the help barged their way into the master bedroom to rid the world of what they viewed as an abomination. She heard her mother’s screams and father’s pleading words. Terrified, she crawled off out of the bed and scooted her way to her closet, where she would sit for what felt like days. Morning came and an armed officer was the one to find her. Although he assured her that everything would be alright, but she knew very well that her world had come crashing down.

Over the next few years, Maggie was moved from family member to family member on her father’s side. Each one seemed to grow tired of her bad attitude and new-found negative outlook on life rather quickly. After a few months, it was on to the next one. Soon enough, she had given up on the domesticated life she lived before. There was a trust set up for her filled with her parents’ money, and she retained all of the skills her mother had taught her. She realized it would be rough on her own, but that she’d never find happiness again if she remained bouncing from home to home.

Life on the road brought her a great many things - tattoos, new skills as a dancer, friends, lovers, enemies, and unfortunately, a dependency on alcohol. The bottom of a bottle was her new favorite home and the only thing that seemed to fill the void left after her parents’ murders.

She had been on the road and in and out of bars for almost eight years by the time she found herself drawn to a wooded area in Massachusetts. Twenty-three at the time, seasoned, aggressive, and tainted by the world, Maggie had nothing left to lose. Upon wandering through the area, she discovered something beyond her wildest dreams - Halloweentown. Upon settling in, she found an apartment, a job, and she was determined to make the best of it. Soon enough, she realized this little slice of heaven was the home she’s longed for since she was thirteen. And while it hasn’t exorcised her demons, it taught her how to use them to her advantage – and that’s all she could ask for.

ALM & CLIVE

i’ve got lots of appreciation for these two’s interactions in every single iteration they go through uuuwoooasuughghhgrh

my main appreciation for these two stems from how alm’s naivete and frankness are highlighted to push clive to grow. though clive is a passionate person who’s idealist for sure as shown in the dlc memory prism, when he rose to assist mathilda with the deliverance, he had to harden his heart to make tough choices for the sake of his country and his beloved’s goals. in a way, he lost sight of himself as he tried to become the leader that was required of him, morale at an all-time low as he loses his lover, his best friend, and failure after failure gets tossed his way.

it’s alm who pushes him to try being selfish again — to follow his heart and trust in it, that he need not compromise to win. had alm not been there, clive likely would ( and as shown in the manga for gaiden ) have accepted not being able to rescue mathilda even though he would have wanted to because it’d put the deliverance at a disadvantage, but alm’s naivete and freshness doesn’t hold back alm. without alm’s recklessness, confidence, and large heart, clive would’ve wallowed in his regret for the rest of his life.

alm is a good influence on clive, and i am just weak to an older guy learning from a younger person. i like the challenging tension during that portion, and i think post mathilda’s rescue, clive would be a lot more open and easygoing with alm, able to strike up something between a mentorship and friendship with the fighter as he helps teach him about running a military and other things.

ALM & CELICA

this could go either way since we both play alm and celica, so i’ll be a bit vague about this as a result haha. while you mention in your ask either gaiden or sov, i’ll try not to ramble too much about gaiden either since idk how much you know about it, but feel free to hmu about it in regards to either of my portrayals for these two!

in a more general sense, i do really adore these two as they are in canon: celica befriending alm in their youth as alm helps her out of her shell, and then the two being emotionally close even after being physically separated. they may have a huge difference in methodologies and both be stubborn leading to their argument on zofia’s palace’s rooftop, but they think of each other’s best interests despite that and they truly do complete each other. it’s their differences at the end of the day that make them stronger together; they can both learn from one another and account for the other’s weaknesses.

i really like them romantically and i know you put in your bios you do too, though i totally understand not wanting to ship with someone you don’t know very well, so i’m more than okay with writing these two platonically as well! truth be told, when i first played gaiden, i had seen these two platonically despite how much i would grow to love them romantically, so i have no troubles at all going that angle, but regardless of which way we go, i’d definitely still like to highlight their strong bond even if they might not see eye-to-eye all the time, haha.

ran is an easy person to talk & a lot of people like him just because of his intriguing & friendly personality . maybe the two met when aimi goes to roppongi with her brothers & a small group of thugs ( unrelated to the haitani bros ) try to mess with em . the two bros don’t really like when thugs try to act all tough especially when they rule roppongi . they’d fight them mostly for a pride thing & will let them leave unscathed because they wouldn’t have any real reason to antagonize them .

kisaki being kisaki , he’s a bit suspicious about takemichi & how he ( chifufyu & aimi ) has always countered his plans . he expresses these concerns to shuji & he too now kinda has an eye out on the gang . he’d often make some playful threats , insinuating that her brother might get caught in the line of fire if she’s not careful . it’s all jokes though , he just finds it fun to piss her off .
