Share to save a dandruff-haver's sanity
i am making this post because all my life i have been told my dandruff was my fault for not washing my hair correctly and shamed for having "poor hygiene" as a result - this is probably where the bfrbs started tbh.
SO. There are two main types of dandruff!
Dry scalp flakes: these are white and itty bitty! you can probably solve this with a good hair and skincare routine. HOWEVER unless they are bothering you it is absolutely not necessary for any kind of health reason (afaik! disclaimer! i am not a doctor! this is not actionable medical advice nor should you take me anywhere near as seriously as a dermatologist). IS NOT CAUSED BY POOR HYGIENE.
Fungal dandruff: Bigger, yellowish, possibly oily/greasy flakes! Caused by your genetics going Oops All Yeast! Generally requires a prescription antifungal treatment from a dermatologist! ALSO NOT CAUSED BY POOR HYGIENE.
Either way, if you have dandruff, a dermatologist is the one you want to consult if it's bothering you! and frankly, even if it was a hygiene issue, nobody deserves to be shamed for that!!!!! especially considering that there are plenty of people who struggle to shower regularly due to circumstances beyond their control!
AND FOR CHRIST'S SAKE STOP SHAMING PEOPLE WITH DANDRUFF!!!!

i saw a tiktok showing pretty much kylie jenner's melting face and people in the comments were being like "this is so mean for no reason and she looks good" which in my OPINION while yes sure it's a little mean it's like she could get all her filler dissolved and fix this issue and i think it's good for the general public to see just how all that filler is gonna look in 5-10 years. like this isn't bullying its a wake up call it's an intervention it's a public service announcement. maybe young people especially will think before they waste their money getting injected

I found a website where you can type the ingredients of the skin product you're using and it tells you whether they're comedogenic or not and if there's an irritant in there as well. The site is in Spanish but I assume it can be easily translatable by your browser.
But it case it's not, I translated it for you
Once you click Verify, it brings you to this page:
The mildly comedogenic ingredients are in yellow, moderate in orange, and high in red. The irritating ingredients are in blue.
The two "warnings" on top are the conclusions the website reached, the yellow one says this product is potentially safe, except if the case my skin has a strong tendency to get obstructed pores. The blue one says it can be irritating, especially in sensitive skins (you can't see all the ingredients here, but the last one was parfum, which is an irritant).
The website also said products that have comedogenic ingredients are usually safe as long as those ingredients aren't within the 5 first positions on the list.
Disclaimer: I'm not a dermatologist nor do I know anything more than the average person about skincare, I'm just an acne sufferer who thought this could be of use to people like me. And I hope it is!!
Here's the link to the website

Not to tell you guys what to do and I’m too lazy to find sources but like YES if you usually wash your hair like daily and suddenly let it go for longer it WILL get greasy because it’s like “wait I usually get washed now and I’m not being washed, I don’t know what’s happening so I guess I’ll make a bunch of oil”
But your hair, and especially your scalp, doesn’t NEED that
So if you wait it out, or even just rinse with water only every other day, you can change that greasiness response so you can go a lot longer without washing
I know people who shampoo their hair like once a month but in between it looks totally fine and doesn’t smell or anything

Yesterday my mom came to my door with a little box in her hand and said "Do you have a problem with dry skin? This body moisturizer can help, it's very good, I have this extra one sealed for you if you want!" Like some sort of personification of an ad
