part one -> 📱💞🚙

The first video goes viral. They get a lot of new traffic on their page, and half of it gets curious about their music, and half of the curious ones even become fans. So the series is already a success with only one video out. 

In the second video, Eddie, still blushing but smiling cheekily introduces Steve, who is all smiles and sunshine wrapped up in muscle and tan skin and people eat it up.

Then the actual process begins, and it's genuinely informative and quite good, Steve really knows what he's doing and he seems to have a passion for it that makes his eyes shine whenever he's explaining to Eddie what they are doing and what for.

It’s also fairly comedic, the series. Eddie keeps tripping all over his own feet making funny remarks to make Steve laugh. They both work on the van, because Eddie wants to get his hands dirty too, so Steve stays close behind, whispering instructions and murmuring praises while he works that have Eddie sweating and blushing from things that are completely unrelated to the manual labor and looking at the camera like he’s in the office.

It becomes kind of a thing because Eddie knows Steve doesn't watch the videos and everyone already knows from the first video that Eddie has a little crush on him. So he thinks it is just innocent fun that when Steve is working and Eddie has the phone in his hands instead of the tripod, he sometimes zooms on his back, his arms, the sweat on his neck, and then back to his face, sighing and shaking his head slowly.

TikTokers even start shipping them, saying Eddie has very clear cat energy and Steve is the most golden retriever boyfriend-coded man on the planet.

But something shifts as the videos go on, Eddie’s quips are less jokey and more just pure admiration for Steve’s work. When they film a time-lapse the audience can see them working together, bumping shoulders, Steve looking at Eddie and looking away when Eddie looks at him. And when Eddie is filming there are no more jokes about him pining on camera. It is just scenes of Steve laughing, or just smiling, working while he whistles. Zooms of his eyes, his nose, the highlights on his hair, the way the moles on his cheek move when he smiles crookedly at something dumb Eddie says.

The whole series becomes a documentary about how Eddie fell in love with Steve and then… it's complete. It's done. The van is finished. Eddie films one last video thanking Steve for everything, and making one last flirty joke about taking him for a ride. Steve laughs and runs a hand through his hair, telling Eddie he’s welcome. And that is it. The series is done. 

It drives everyone insane because they love it of course, but also. Because it seems… unfinished. It's kind of a mess, Corroded fans are fighting the shippers and the shippers are accusing Eddie of queer bating, which he thinks it's fuckin hilarious and sad because it's his literal life they are talking about. 

But the truth is, there’s nothing more to tell. They had a real conversation after Eddie stopped filming, a proper thanks and hug goodbye. And then Steve just left. He never made a move. And Eddie tried, he really tried. He insinuated, flirted, complimented. But Steve was either not interested or completely clueless (probably because of how uninterested he was).

And now Eddie has a beautiful van, completely equipped for two people to travel in style. And no one to share it with. So he stays at home, wrapped up in a blanket and watching the comments on his tiktoks, laughing and then crying with the way people describe how palpable their chemistry is. And he misses Steve. He keens, he pins, he craves.

𑁍ࠬܓ nanamelly: Yes. 💞 But very poorly. 😭☠️ At least on my end. I was relieved and elated that I found someone to solve my curse issue with my aunt's property, but I was also extremely embarrassed at the state of the farmhouse and needing to play host unexpectedly to this man who just seemed so put together, composed,intelligent, and kind who didn't deserve to sleep on a creaky mattress. 💞

We came from different worlds and it seemed unlikely that I could ever fit into his. 💞 He was a good sport about it, and when we finally got to chatting, that wall slowly came down and he amazed me from his knowledge of finance, to his scars, to his vintage car, music, his colleagues, family, and adolescence and a million other things about him that made him who he was. 💞

That first night after dinner we opened up a bit more to one another and our talk on the porch wandered into late hours. I felt a little emboldened by the glasses of wine and he told me that I kept looking at him like I knew something he hadn't quite figured out yet. 💞 But, he too felt that ember of a connection he couldn't quite give a voice to, and he loosened up just enough that he wanted to linger on that porch with me a while longer.💞

We both went to bed that night, restless and ruminating over the things we said to one another that we wished we could go back and redo. Lol. 💞

𑁍ࠬܓshiuelly: Yes. 💞 From the moment I (literally) tumbled into his lap at the aquarium, he had this charming nature to him that came so easily. He captivated and frustrated me at the same time because I was still in the prison of my mind, deeply grieving my first husband, Kento, whose love I truly believed died with him that I could find in no other man, until Shiu came along and proved me wrong.💞 After meeting at the aquarium he became the unrelenting melody of ruminations in my mind. Just as I was thinking that he would slip away as another beautiful stranger, he found me, and I went out with him despite all odds. 💞

He was so easy to speak to and I found myself returning his banter during dinner with soft smiles, lingering glances over the glasses of wine, finding excuses to linger in his presence despite my better judgement. 💞 He listened and he didn't try to fill the silence as though my presence was all he really needed to enjoy himself. We didn't need to talk about anything for him to want to remain in my space. He asked me questions, even about mundane things like he just wanted an excuse to hear my voice. Just a simple look from him would leave me weak and there was a moment where the warmth in his gaze reminded me so much of Kento that I got emotional and needed to excuse myself. When I told him about my past he accepted it without any conditions or reservations. 💞

It unfolded on the porch while rain pattered on the roof and I sat on the porch swing cuddled under the blankets while he insisted on leaning against the house, after one of our late night talks strayed well past midnight. The wine and the past several days of us slowly letting one another into our worlds gave us both the courage to give a voice to the feelings that had been building ever since we first saw one another.

After the kiss, we just gazed at one another for the longest time. Tearing myself away from him and walking to my separate room down the hall was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. But it was like a spark fanned into a flame that ignited all at once, and we both knew that we didn't want to mess things up, especially knowing that in the morning we'd have a long day ahead of us, and he still had a job to do when it came to ridding the land of the curse. We both fell asleep that night, happy and apprehensive, minds preoccupied with thoughts of one another knowing that this was the start of things never being the same between us ever again. 💕

𑁍ࠬܓshiuelly-Our first kiss was the most significant physical act that put all of the pining to rest as we sped headfirst into our own version of forever. 💞 It took place on our first date when he drove me out to the ocean to dispose of the body after he had gotten caught up in a collection deal gone wrong. I had learned the truth that the victim actually was a bad man who abused vulnerable parties while Shiu was muttering to himself. I made a ton of decisions during that time when Shiu thought that I was asleep. I decided in that moment even though I don't understand everything that he does, I love him so much that I'd do whatever I could not to lose him. 💞

After I helped him, we wandered a ways from the shore until we came upon a foggy graveyard, the moonlight shone, honest and true. Something permanent was born between us that didn't make sense to anyone but us, and we kissed for what felt like an eternity, solemnizing everything that transpired that night and diving headfirst down this new path we carved out together and never looking back since. 💞

"If you were to ask me to name a singular moment within the span of those several days, I would say it took place the morning that marked exactly one week after I had arrived.

One week since I drove up to answer what I expected was a routine call, not knowing the rest of my life would come running up to me with the most erratic expression in the most captivating pair of brown eyes I had ever seen. 💞

I suspected that a connection was in the process of being built when small talk, which is typically unbearable for me on a normal day, quickly became conversations that strayed past reasonable hours that I would have preferred to have been asleep, simply because I wanted to hear the sound of her voice. Particularly when I witnessed how thoughtfully and beautifully she spoke of the world around her, the way she revered the people and things she loves. 💞

I also knew when I found myself wishing to be one of those things, when she looked at me and touched me with complete indifference to my physical imperfections and emotional shortcomings that I had long believed would be irreconcilable obstacles for anyone to want to spend their life with me, and whispered that I was the most incredible man she had ever met. 💞

I knew she was the one for me when the look on her face after I told her I needed to leave left me with an unbearable pain in my chest, and the only right way to fix it was to tell her that I love her. The very idea of being away from her became out of the question. That moment gave me the bravery I needed to stop running away from the feeling that planted an ember in my chest from the very first moment she looked at me. I felt determination after taking that initial leap together and knew I'd rearrange my world the very next day just so she could be a part of it.💞

That's when I truly understood why people do seemingly foolish things for the ones they love.

In short, there were many moments, but that one in particular is the one I identify the most as where I realized I had fallen in love with the woman I would eventually call my wife." 💞

That first date she showed up and I didn't think it was possible, but she looked even more beautiful than the first time.

Just the act of her falling asleep in my car felt like a level of trust that I hadn't experienced with anyone in a long time. I knew there was no going back from the moment I got that damn call. I knew there was a possibility she'd never speak to me again or wouldn't want anything to do with me, thinking that at the very least she'd break up with me in that moment for sure.

But she stood there and told me she didn't care, saying my name in a soft way that nobody else ever did. I just felt my heart come to life all at once like it was aching to jump outside of my chest. She filled me with a warmth blooming all over like the kind of butterflies you only get when you're young and dumb.

It turns out, hell wasn't some scary ass, fiery inferno after all, but a life without the deliverance she could shed on me just by breathing.💞

I was damned man who never gave redemption a second thought until an angel like her made me remember what it felt like to yearn for salvation. She made me more hopeful yet weak with every step she took towards me.

I just told her: "Look, if you do this, I'm not letting you go." And she didn't even let me get a word out before she just kissed me right then and there.

It was one of those moments I'll remember for the rest of my life. Like those moments you only see at the cinema that you don't recognize at first until you're in it and it's playing out before your very eyes. It didn't need to make sense to anyone else. Nothing mattered like anything else to me in that moment but her, and how she tasted.

And when I drove her home, dropped her off and she just looked at me with the saddest look on her face, I told her I loved her without even thinking. Luckily, she said it back. 💞

I went to the tenant's office first thing in the morning, paid off all her debt, moved my wife into my apartment with me all within the same day and I've never looked back since."💞

The chaos I met him with was a stark contrast to the deep brown of my eyes that immediately caught his eye, my bangs that fell in my face and the way the humidity of the rain brought out the natural waves of my hair made him quite confused, but very flustered indeed. 💞

𑁍ࠬܓ shiuelly: our first meeting when I tripped and tumbled into his arms from that pesky wet floor sign at the aquarium really threw Shiu for a loop. 💞He was there to seek solace from the stress of work in the ritual of the fish and a cigarette, when he got his first glance of me, he was flustered by my brown eyes that made him yearn to know the deepest machinations behind my thoughts that brewed behind them, my heels and black dresses that seemed impractical yet gave me an edge of allure that he admired, made him realize he couldn't walk away from that encounter with nothing more than just my name. 💞

Hello my lovely! 💞💞 I actually am in recovery this week after having a surgical procedure yesterday, so I'm finally getting a chance to catch up on my TBR reading and the shows I've had on my watchlist. 🤪

Ooh I feel like he'd protest at first and claim to solely drink Americanos, but he's a basic latte guy.

Hit him with some caramel or hazelnut, and he's happy. But you could also hook him into being a little adventurous with a pistachio or "brown sugar" latte lol. Like most things, Beau is willing to try almost anything once. 😉

All the health crazes, "drip" coffee, and milk alternatives are definitely going over his head, or he's mocking them. ("Save that pussy drink for Hughie." 💀)

But one thing he might go for, other than a black coffee, is a nice cold brew, hold off on too much foam -- can't be getting the milkstache, now can he? But he'll like it even better if you make it "Irish." 💚

Last but certainly not least, we have Russell! I don't think he's picky about his coffee, considering he probably drinks a lot of free motel coffee. lol

But! I think he'd appreciate a nice flat white at a proper café. It's more robust than a normal cappuccino and less milk, so he'd argue that he's getting more "bang for his buck." 😂
