YUICHIRO IS NO STRANGER to the feeling of jolting awake after a nightmare, it’s something that’s been happening to him for as long as he can remember. He couldn’t just forget that, unable to shake how the faces of his family would show up again every time he closed his eyes. Every time, he reaches for them, swears on every ounce of fighting spirit in his body that he’ll SAVE them, but it always turns out just like it did before... the way things remain whenever he wakes up. Sometimes, waking up is even more painful than the hurt thrown at him in his dreams.

The good thing about having Mika back ( among a lot of good things ) is that Yuu has another opportunity to stay, one more chance to make sure they remain together.

The bad thing: it doesn’t stop the nightmares.

“Mika?!” He practically yells, the name a desperate plea for him to be alright— distress takes over as Yuu’s flailing continues until he locks onto something to grasp. There, his gaze finally focuses, and he can see Mika through the blur of welling tears. Sharp breath, and he grits his teeth despite the way his chest heaves for air. “You’re not...? Oh-” Voice is low, and he clears his throat, blinking back the wetness the best he can. “Okay, yeah, I... I’m fine. Just some stupid dream.” Even with denial in the way he glances away, Yuu doesn’t let go, in fact... it seems like he wants to lean closer.
