it sounds so stupid but i’m shaking so much right now. i’m so scared and i’m terrified after the movie release and all the media going out. i’m beyond scared right now. gosho, Kaishin has been my lifeline and my support- my comfort ship for YEARS now. i can’t leave them, i never can- but because of this i’ve become so scared of talking about them to people, i’m scared of being cancelled or talked down to for being so attached to them as characters and especially as a ship. they helped me to get through some of my hardest times and now at my lowest again this happens. i feel like shit and again have to watch people bash them and state “isn’t it obvious” when every dcmk character resembles each other?

i love kaishin so much. i love kaito, i love shinichi.

detective and thief dynamic has always been my favourite…

they’re my comfort ship. i have no one to talk to, roleplay with or share my love for them to. it’s so lonely and this only made it worse. i don’t want to be delusional and say the movie isn’t canon or what not but please… if there’s anyone who’s still staying please reach out. again it’s so stupid but they’re my comfort and attachment and i’ve been crying for an hour straight because i’ll still love kaishin with all my heart. i thought i’d have enough time to reach out and gain friends from the ship and fandom but i guess not!

this made me feel alone all over again.

Here is my art submission for KSBB22!

I had the amazing privilege to work with @browa123 to create this fantastical and magical story!

The story is called Arachnophobia! A DnD like adventure featuring our favourite detective and phantom thief boys. Set in a fantasy world with fantastical views and monsters for all your fantasy needs!

Summary:

Kaito is a rogue adventurer that has the misfortune of getting separated from his party.

Powerful monsters that roam these caves ambush them. In the commotion that follows, Kaito falls into a fissure in the ground and down into the caves below.

There, various monsters way above his skill level roam. He has no chance of surviving on his own, but that is when he meets an odd spider creature that is way more intelligent than he could have ever imagined. Perhaps with the help of his strange new companion, Kaito will make it out of this situation alive...

“Nhh…” he groans, feeling something supporting his head, doing his best to bring himself back to awareness....

It's then that all of the boy’s freckles blink with the main pair of eyes....

Turning to thank the stranger, Kaito is met with a sight that makes him question how badly he was hallucinating.....

“I, um… need the light to read. I’m not good at seeing in the dark…” Kaito mutters. Shinichi blinks a few times at that and just seems to settle, continuing to read the novel in his own hands without any objections as Kaito uses him as a reading light....

Shinichi’s in trouble, gotta help Shinichi, gotta get to him! Kaito bolts into the library with his snake fang drawn, ready to aid Shinichi in whatever he’s fighting, jumping over the mysterious figures in the room and landing in front of the spider on light feet....

“Get the hell away from him!” Kaito shouts...

I had a bunch more planned because I was so hype and inspired. But unfortunately they are all just sketches for now that I will share in the near future.

It was super inspiring and fun to work with @browa123 on this project. Thank you so much!

I like that Shinichi usually attracts death to himself, like some kind of magnet. While Kaito does the opposite, preventing death from happening, mostly.
