The Uncanny Counter

Who knows me for a while knows that since the first episodes I loved it and yeah, I loved it till the very end and now that it's over I feel like I have lost a part of me. It was the best part of the week: wait for the weekend to have some hours of this amazing drama.

Plot: 1000/10

General things I loved

That evil spirit thing is something we kinda see in some dramas, but I liked the way it was showed here: people who have bad feelings are the ones who are possessed. The fact they work in a noodles restaurant was different and funny too.

The teamwork

The whole Yung thing, the way they've become counters, the way their hair changed (and made all of them look more like a team, like a family), the way they defended each other and supported one another. That was what made me love it the most.

So-mun's growth

We could watch our So-Mun growing, his development through the episodes was notable. Not only as a counter, finding new abilities that no one thought he could have, but also the way his mind has changed. He got more mature (we can definitely see that by the two last episodes, in which he cared for Hyeok-u, even though that boy has bullied him for a long time). He learned how to control himself and that made him even more powerful. He became that superhero he created with his friends.

The FANTASTIC TRIO: So-Mun and his friends

Of course by the ending of the drama, with all that fights against the Super Evil Spirit we missed some scenes of his adorable friendship with Ung-min and Ju-yeong, but when it was all over we knew for sure that nothing has changed between them. They're the perfect trio. So-mun's friends were always there for him, protecting him when he was weak, cheering for him when he was sad. And now that he is stronger, he knows how to protect them. By the middle of the drama we saw him protecting them with his life against the bullies. Now that they're safe, he promised to keep caring for them with simple things, that means a lot. I also found it adorable how his friends were able to understand the situation os So-Mun. He could get himself healed, but couldn't tell them how. He had to go out suddenly to catch some evil spirits, but couldn't tell them. But they understood, because all that mattered was that their friend was finally healthy and happy. That's beautiful.

Other counters stories

The first one I'll comment is Do Ha-na because: I love a powerful woman. The story of how she lost her family was really sad. The way she tried to forget it and tried to avoid the other to see it was so real. For sure she wouldn't like to remember it, no one would be able to talk about it and would like to be remembered about how it was. But it was beautiful how she started to open up her feelings a bit more. It was hard for her, but she finally got able to remember her family in a better way.

Mo-tak's story was pretty sad. I still feel so bad for him. I can't imagine how would it be to know that you were on coma because someone tried to kill you, you lose your memories and, after seven years, when you finally get your memories back and remember you had a lover, that person is taken from you. I think he is a really really really strong man. Also, I wanna say he was one of the best characters. He always made me laugh when he couldn't arrive properly at Yung. I still find that funny tho.

Ms. Chu was incredible. She cared for them like the good mother she is. One of the things I liked the most (I know I say that a lot but I definitely loved this drama) is that she could still being with her son. I'm sure she suffered a lot for losing her child and seeing here being able to keep in touch with him was adorable. She was very caring and could sacrifice herself in order to protect the ones she cares. I think she is amazing.

Jang-mul was a funny man. He always came with some cool stuff for them and cared for his teammates. Idk what to say about him but I liked him lol

So-mun x Do Ha-na

I liked so much how their relationship was treated. Yk, since the first episode we see So-Mun being enchanted by her (tbh who wouldn't). They became teammates and friends, but they had a lot of work to do, they were always fighting and working. Also, So-Mun was first seen as a child bcs of his age, being a high school student and also his temperament. But as the episodes have passed we can see how Ha-na starts to see him and to treat him, and it gives us the idea of how she is feeling too. Anyway, they were too busy and even if there's nothing clear about them in the end, I still think that there's something there.

Cast: 10/10

PERFECTIONNNN. I confess I only started watching if because of Sejeong, because, well... that's Sejeong. However, I fell in love with all of them, their actings were so real.

OST: 9/10

That's not a 10 because it was only 3 songs, but I liked them. I loved that one of the songs was sung by Sejeong. I know that this drama was not like the majority of dramas I watch, those are romantic and full of emotional soundtracks. That was not the focus here and that's why I loved the ones which were released + the instrumentals when they were fighting or doing anything else.

To put it into a nutshell:

I LOVED THIS DRAMA. THAT'S ALL.
