Idea for an au where porters not evil, but he’s convinced that new hire Jace Stardiamond is.

Maybe all past sorcery teacher have been high and mighty bastards that think they’re above others cause they have innate magic and expect students to be perfect and to just ‘get’ their magic since they’re literally born with it.

Then ‘friendly to an almost obnoxious degree’ Jace comes along, all bright smiles and friendly questions about everyone and everything.

Porters protective barbarian/paladin instincts kick in and he starts to investigate Jace. Finding whatever reason to swing by the office, offering to drive him home (just so he can see where he lives) and asking very in depth questions about Jace.

Jace just assumes that porter has a crush on him and is really bad at flirting (porter does and part of him thinking Jace is evil is definitely him just not knowing what to do with those emotions).

Cue hyjinks and misunderstanding as poster tries to find out Jaces (nonexistent) secret evil plan, and Jace just tries to get in porters pants.

Also because I love Zara I’m thinking she’s either drawn in and conviced Jace is evil (Zara: no way a man that willing plays that much hakey sack isn’t hiding his true self). Or is fully aware that porters going a little bit crazy and just needs to get layed, preferably by the new half elf sorcery teacher . Xx

ohhh my god this is so fun. first of all i love zara being fully aware that porter’s making shit up in his head to rationalize wanting to fuck jace but doing nothing to dissuade him because she thinks it’s funny.

jace gradually letting the mask down around porter because they’re spending so much time together but porter sees him making a bitchy comment as “proof” that he’s secretly evil and it only eggs him on more.

one day porter tails jace home and he turns a corner that he usually doesn’t make, like down an alley, and by the time porter rounds it jace is out of his car standing in the middle of the road and porter nearly hits him. jace confronts him about being a creep and porter’s like i thought you were evil! and jace is like literally what are you even talking about. wait so do you not think i’m hot? and porter’s like. what does that have to do with anything. and jace catches him by surprise so much that porter actually moves when jace pushes him up against the wall and growls “if you wanted to fuck me so bad, all you had to do was ask” and porter is immediately hard.

they fuck in porter’s truck and jace is limping around aguefort all next day with a truly genuine smile on his face for once

I really think it depends, like most of my works are around 2-3k on their own, but I think it depends on what content you have in there because sometimes less is more. It doesn’t always need 2k, cause you might be able to get everything in there perfectly, for less, but sometimes it may require more details which could be anywhere from 3k - 10k or even more.

I think you're right! Tbh I just don't want to disappointing readers with works that are not that substantial 🙁 I've also been changing up a little how I write and been writing a bit longer stuff (that hasn't been posted, so no one knows lol) because I made the dumb decision of reading my old fics and I HATE THEM SM 😣 Anyway, thanks for the advice, I was about to go through the first chapter for a small series but I think I might leave it like that before I add unnecessary stuff to it 😬
