Hello, my name is Reem. I am a Palestinian mother of a little girl who has become the center of my life and the source of my strength. 💖 Today we live in harsh conditions, completely different from everything we have known. Our home is no longer a home… We live in displacement, fear, a shortage of food and medicine, and a lack of security. 😔

Yet every morning, I open my eyes to my daughter's face, and I try again. 🌞 Because she is here, I must stay strong. 💪 Because she is small, I need to create a safe world for her… even though my world is broken.

We don't have much, but we hold on to each other. 🤝

I write these words to share a moment of our reality that you may not see in the news. I’m not seeking pity, nor do I want to burden anyone… All I ask is that my words reach a heart that knows compassion, and understands that help, even in the smallest form, can make a big difference in someone's life like ours. ✨

Life here doesn’t go as it should… but it goes on. We live on hope, the kindness of strangers, words of encouragement, and hands that reach out at the right time. 🌟 Maybe you can’t change everything, but you can change one day in our lives… And one day with dignity is all we need to keep fighting. 💫

💙✨ Metalor in Aramdonlol's style!! ✨💙

I was scrolling through my old Procreate files and found a lil artwork!!! 🥹💙✨🌟🩵 A while ago - I drew a bunch of pieces inspired by Aramdonlol’s art style because I was (and still am!!) obsessed with their colors and expressions—it's just so unique and beautiful!!

Anyway... I completely forgot I even drew this, so I was like “YAY! I need to go post it!! :3” BUT THEN—I kept scrolling... and found another one... and another one... AND ANOTHER ONE 😭💙🩵🌟 So now I have FOUR of these total (that I know of... 👀😂💙🩵)

I used to just stash my art in folders since I didn’t have Tumblr back then (only Pinterest - which kept crashing on me), so these never got posted... BUT!!!! Now they rise from the depths of the file pile...🫡✨

First of all she’s such a complete BADASS kind of diva!

Second her sister is Phylicia Rashad and her mother is Vivian Ayers Allen so of course she had no choice but to be great and a trailblazer in her own right!

Vivian Ayers Allen is the mother of Debbie Allen and Phylicia Rashad. She is a poet, scholar, and activist, and was also honored by NASA for her contributions to the Apollo 11 mission. Debbie Allen is an actress, director, and choreographer, known for her work on shows like "Grey's Anatomy". Phylicia Rashad is an actress, best known for her role in "The Cosby Show".

Their mother literally moved them out of the United States to Mexico growing up to avoid segregation.

She is an American actress, dancer, choreographer, director, producer, and singer-songwriter.

She's known for her role as dance teacher Lydia Grant in the 1982 musical drama series Fame, where she also served as the show's main choreographer. Allen has been nominated for 20 Emmys and two Tony Awards. She's also choreographed the Academy Awards a record-breaking 10 times.

She also has a Hollywood Star of Fame! Sensational 💥

Her niece Condola Rashad and daughter Vivian are stars within their own right! It’s a family of stardom 🙌🏾

Deborah Kaye Allen was born in Houston, Texas, to African-American parents, Vivian Elizabeth (Ayers), a poet and art director, and Andrew Arthur Allen, an orthodontist. As a child, Debbie, her older brother, Andrew (called Tex), and her older sister, actress Phylicia Rashad, lived in Mexico to escape US racism. Their mother decided to live there to give the Allen children a brief experience of not having to endure the chronic racism and segregation that was typical of Texas during the 1950s. Debbie and Phylicia are fluent in Spanish.

Debbie graduated from Jack Yates Senior High School in Houston, TX in 1967. She graduated cum laude from Howard University in 1971 with a BFA in Classical Greek Literature, Speech, and Theater from Howard University. She used her experiences from attending Historically Black College Howard to inform her production and direction of the TV show A Different World (1987).

For her vast body of work, Debbie Allen has earned three Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe, five NAACP Image Awards, a Drama Desk, an Astaire Award (for Best Dancer), and the Olivier Award. She holds four honorary doctorate degrees and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Debbie was appointed by President George W. Bush to represent the United States as a Cultural Ambassador of Dance. She has been artist in residence at the Kennedy Center for more than 15 years, creating original works with the legendary Arturo Sandoval and James Ingram, such as: Pepito’s Story, Brothers of the Knight, Dreams, Alex in Wonderland, Soul Possessed, Pearl, Dancing in the Wings, and Oman O Man. She recently debuted her anti-violence dance musical, Freeze Frame, during Australia’s Brisbane Festival.

a/n: this was inspired by my own desire of wanting to protect arthur ⭐️ (reader is actually my rdr2 oc named star but i hope you guys enjoy it nonetheless!) (also i understand some readers might find this out of character for arthur? but this was completely self indulgent on my part sooooo yea guilty as charged) (english isn’t my first language so if you notice any grammar mistakes, please let me know in the comments!)

He finds you laying on your stomach, on a small patch of thick leafy grass with your worn out journal laid before you. Fully focused on whatever you’re sketching, you don’t seem to realize that he’s finished setting up your tent and that he’s now waiting by your feet, so he watches you for a bit longer while you continue to work on your drawing.

It’s been a rough few days, running away from blood, violence and death. For that reason, seeing you resting and at ease brings him a sense of calmness he hasn’t felt in a long time.

There’s a big bush by your side granting you a bit of shade, its vibrant flowers in full bloom, and Arthur notices how they all seem to be bending towards you. Almost as if you were the sun.

The sound of his loud bite makes you lift your gaze from the paper, turning your head to look over your shoulder on alert, until you see it’s just your lover standing behind you.

“You spyin’ on me, cowboy?”

He swears he could melt right on the spot, at the sight of your big toothy smile and the dimples on your cheeks, slightly sunburnt after spending hours and hours riding under the sun. He lowers his head to hide the faint blush of his own under the brim of his hat, though he knows his attempts are futile considering you can read him like a damn open book.

“What d’you have in there?” — his voice sounds a little breathless as he ignores your question, too embarrassed to admit that he’s been caught in the act.

Sitting up, you extend your hand to pull at his faded denim trousers, not once but twice, batting your long lashes and looking at him with a mischief in your eyes that has his heart racing inside his chest in anticipation.

“I’ll show you if you gimme a kiss.”

It’s ridiculous how quickly he complies, sitting down in an instant, and kissing you so hard and fast that the brims of your hats bump into each other, almost flying off your heads. You giggle loud enough to scare away the birds pecking on the trunks of the nearby trees, trying to say his name between hiccups, and he believes those six letters have never sounded more beautiful to him in his lifetime.

With a happy sigh, you wrap your arms around his neck, lifting your hips to sit on his lap, while Arthur brings the apple into his mouth to give it another bite. Its juice drips from his lips and you catch it with your thumb before it reaches the bumpy scar on his chin. Licking your finger clean, you unclasp your other arm from where it’s hooked to grab your old journal.

“So d’you want to see what I was doing or not?”

“Sure, show me.”

You lean into him, your temples touching, turning the pages until you get to the one where your drawing is. His heart skips a beat upon seeing it, an improved version of himself staring back at him. He might as well be looking at himself in a mirror, considering how perfectly you’ve captured the expression of his gaze and the cut of his jaw, as well as the length of his hair and the vest he’s currently wearing. The one you’ve mended for him a hundred times. The one in which you embroidered a little star right above his heart.

You’ve told him to get rid of it already, but he insists on keeping it and wearing it even if it’s more a rag than a proper item of clothing. Because it is his favorite, although he’s never told you.

And he can’t blame you, for having him as your personal muse. His own journal is full with sketches and drawings of you, since you’re all that exists in his mind. You and your hair. You and your striking eyes. You and your bright smile. You and the curve of your neck. You and your scars. You and your hands and rings. You and Lady. You and the things that belong to you, just like he does. You surrounded by nature or inside the intimacy of a room. You awake or asleep. You naked or fully dressed. You as a whole.

“You look too handsome in that vest, so I couldn’t resist myself. Your nose though… I think I should redo it.”— the tip of your finger traces a line over the crooked bridge of his nose, so gently that a thrill runs down his spine.

“Don’t. It looks perfect. Definitively more handsome than I am.” — he grabs your forearm and leaves the tiniest kiss on the inside of your wrist. “What about these, mhm?”

He points at the stars surrounding him, varying in different shapes and sizes, and the question makes you pause for a second.

“Well, those… Those are me, I guess. Me protecting you. Like this.”

You drop the journal and raise your hands above his head, your fingers spread, as if trying to resemble the stars on the paper. He looks up at you then, really looks at you, and that’s when he sees the sadness you’ve been trying to hide from him behind the playfulness of your tone. “What is it, sweetheart?”, he wants to ask, but reading his mind as you always do, you speak first, the words dying one by one on his tongue.

“It’s just… I wish I could protect you, all the time. And I wish we didn’t have to live with this constant fear of losing each other. That’s all.”

Your voice breaks in sync with his heart, his trembling hands traveling from your waist to the sides of your face, where tears have started to flow. He kisses them away, and the tickle of his beard on your skin makes you giggle again, softly this time. Even in a moment like this, in all your sadness and heartbreak, you allow him to see the deepest and most hidden parts of your soul. Because despite all your sharp edges, you’ve always worn your heart on your sleeve.

“Star, look at me, please.”

And you do look at him, with your red rimmed eyes and tear stained cheeks, a thousand unspoken words in your brown irises. And Arthur can’t help but wonder how did he end up being this lucky, after all the pain and sorrow he knows he’s caused.

“We‘ll live, darlin’. I give you my word.” — his promise comes out of his mouth in the shape of a whisper, a secret shared just for you to hear.

Your arms wrap around his neck once again, tightly this time, and the strength of your hug sends him tumbling backwards, into the same spot you were laying on over an hour ago. Freshly shed tears stain the collar of his shirt, your face hidden safely in the crook of his neck as you continue to exchange words of longing and devotion.

The sun is gone now, a gentle breeze has settled in, and little sparkles have started to appear in the skies above.

And he wishes, upon the star held in his arms, that all you’ve ever dreamed of comes true one day.
